Review Comments:
samurai trooper: I am very humbled by your review. I haven't spent as much time on this story and yet I have received such great comments. Maybe because crossovers really allow an author's mind to go anywhere. I greatly appreciate you and all my other readers. (And I secretly wish that Rowling and Scott would be among them too! Don't tell anyone though...)
A/N: I'm on Christmas Break from school and plan to work on this story a lot, as well as get ahead for next semester, so expect fast posts. It will slow back down again after the beginning of next semester. I hope that my postings won't stop completely like it did at the end of this last semester. I am sorry for that :-)
Disclaimer: I do not own HP or SINF.
Chapter 36
Dee sat in a ragged London bar called the Leaky Cauldron unsure of how to proceed. He had informed his masters that Flamel was in England based upon picking up the Alchemyst's unmistakable scent during his battle with Tom Riddle. Osiris had agreed to allow Dee to resume his ancient pursuit of Nicholas Flamel. But Dee didn't actually know where to find Flamel in England. Now, a month later, he was no closer to Flamel. Soon, his master would get impatient.
The Leaky Cauldron was a magical bar and, while he couldn't find Riddle again, he was sure that Riddle would not have strayed too far outside magical circles. It was a good bet that he ran into Flamel somewhere like this.
"Nasty weather today," a wizard said walking up to Dee's table and having a seat. Dee gave him a questioning look and said nothing. "Good day to you too," the wizard said and pulled out a copy of the Daily Prophet. There was a picture of the Dark Mark floating above a Cambridge hotel. Dee had seen enough of that mark.
The bartender refilled Dee's firewhisky and got the newcomer's order. "Firewhisky is very addictive, my friend. Don't want to get started on that," the newcomer said.
"I've had much stronger than firewhisky," Dee said. He didn't really feel like conversation, but he was very interested in the newspaper article. Anything on Riddle or his followers could help.
"Stronger?" the man asked. "Just who are you exactly?"
"No one to mess with," Dee said.
The man looked suspiciously at Dee for a long time before saying, "I can see that." He picked up the newspaper again. Dee knew what was going to happen and decided to wait him out. Sure enough the man mentioned something about needing to use the toilet within a minute and got up. He left the newspaper behind. Dee picked it up.
Dark Mark In Cambridge
By Jessica Cartwright
Every mother's worst nightmare happened
for the mother of a young witch in the
Silent Watch magical hotel in Cambridge Saturday.
Aurors are not currently giving out any specifics.
Details should be coming in the next couple of days.
The attack is the latest in a new string of attacks that
has claimed over thirty lives this past month. There
had been some hope that the Death Eaters were
on the decline after almost no deaths the previous
month. It seems those hopes were misplaced.
more about the attack on page 3
Disappointed, Dee began to thumb absentmindedly through the rest of the Daily Prophet. He stopped briefly on page 3 to discover some more about the attack. He knew why Death Eater activity had picked back up: they were no longer searching for him. He turned the page and nearly dropped the paper. There, in a picture on page 5, Dee swore he had seen Nicholas Flamel. The man in the picture had vanished off the page upon seeing Dee and wasn't coming back into the frame. Dee examined the article.
New DADA Professor Complete With Dark Side
by Rita Skeeter
Many may be under the impression that the new
Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts
is a likeable fellow. If you are one of them, take it from
me that you are wrong.
Luke Cummings has a dark side. Sources have seen him
sulking around the castle muttering in a language
not even the great Albus Dumbledore would understand.
Cummings has also been seen, according to my source,
interacting excessively with two second year students.
Cummings, a man barely over the age of thirty, has been
described by the Headmaster as an expert in the field.
I wonder how anyone could be an expert by thirty. Anyone
sensible, like I was, would be chasing boys or girls at

Dee smiled triumphantly as he set the paper down. The description of a thirty year old man, chasing after young students in the same year: no doubt twins. This Luke Cummings was definitely Nicholas Flamel. And, as Hogwarts professor, Flamel wasn't going anywhere.
