Cal and Gillian stood at the airport waiting for Emily's plane to land. Gillian held baby Sophie in her arms. Loker and Ria were also there to greet Emily and Gillian's parents and brother would be at their house in time for a short together before Thanksgiving dinner the next day. Gillian's family would be staying the night at their house.

Emily searched around the terminal and had no trouble finding her father, step-mother, and half-sister. She was also glad to see Loker and Ria there. She ran over to the group and embraced Cal, "It's great to see you Dad."

"Great to see you too love," he said kissing her on the top of her head.

"Long time, no see Em," said Gillian hugging Emily with her free hand.

"Same Gill," said Emily, "And Sophie is just beautiful aren't you little pumpkin?" she cooed at the baby. Sophie yawned in response.

"How's college Em?" asked Ria hugging her followed by Loker.

"It's' been pretty cool. Lots of work with class, but also a lot of fun," she looked down and asked, "How has Sophie been?"

Gillian nodded, "Surgery went well. She just had a checkup Monday. Oxygen levels were good, pulse was good, other vitals were good," she said.

"Well that's good," said Emily, "Can I hold the little munchkin?"

"Took you longer than I thought to ask," smirked Cal.

Gillian handed Sophie to Emily who happily took the sleepy child, "So what's the plan for today?"

"Well we're all meeting Mike, Joyce, and Tim for dinner, then Loker and Torres are going home and the rest of us are going to our house," explained Cal, "Then Thanksgiving tomorrow."

"Sounds great!" said Emily excitedly, "Wait where is everyone staying?"

"My parents are sleeping on the sofa bed, my brother's sleeping on an air mattress in the nursery, and Sophie's sleeping in a basinet in our room for the time being," said Gillian, "And you still have your room."

"I'd sleep in the same room as the baby!" said Emily happily following everyone to the car.

"Believe me darling,, you do not want to sleep in the same room as Sophie," chuckled Cal wrapping his arm around Emily.

"She cries a lot?" asked Emily.

"She's colicky," said Gillian. Emily nodded and handed Sophie back to Gillian who put her in her car seat. Ria and Loker went to their cars and Emily climbed in the back with Sophie.

"So how are you doing?" asked Emily to Cal and Gillian, "How's parenthood treating you Gill?"

Gillian chuckled lightly, "It's a challenge that's for sure. But it's also very rewarding."

"And how is it for you Dad?" asked Emily.

"Well, I think because of your wonderful teenage years, I forgot what it was like to have a newborn in the house," smirked Cal.

"DAD!" shouted Emily. Cal shrugged innocently as he pulled into the restaurant parking lot. Gillian's parents and brother were already there waiting for everyone.

"Hey if it isn't the new parents and the college girl!" shout Tim excitedly.

"Hi Tim," said Gillian happily taking Sophie out of her car seat and carrying her over to her grandparents and uncle, "Sophie, go say hi to Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Tim."

Joyce took Sophie from Gillian and started cuddling with her while Mike said, "Grandma and Grandpa. How does that sound to you?" he asked Joyce.

"It sounds wonderful," she told her husband passing the baby of to him.

Mike gazed into Sophie's eyes and said, "Are you sure I'm not holding you Gilly Muffin?"

"Dad," said Gillian.

"What? I'm just saying she's the spitting image of her Mommy," he said.

"Haven't heard that line before," joked Cal.

"How's she doing from the surgery?" asked Tim.

Gillian nodded, "A lot better than right after birth." The group took their seats at the table and ordered their meals, steering away from any classic Thanksgiving foods. Mike and Joyce enjoyed hearing about their granddaughter's first few weeks of life, even though it had been a bumpy road. At the end of the meal, Loker and Ria bid their farewells and the Andersons followed Cal, Gillian, Emily, and Sophie home.

Cal opened the door for everyone when they arrived home, "Okay Mike and Joyce are on the sofa bed, Em is in her room, and Tim is on the air mattress in the nursery," Cal instructed.

"Oh man, I got to sleep with the baby?" asked Tim a little disappointed.

"No, Sophie will be in our room, I know you don't like hearing crying infants over your snoring," smirked Gillian and Tim glared, "Well you do."

"Just saying if she's anything like you…" said Tim.

"What your brother is trying to say is you were colicky as well," chuckled Joyce.

"See it's your fault not mine," laughed Cal, referring to Gillian blaming him for Sophie's unusual attention schedule.

"Cal," Gillian scolded playfully.

"I'll settle it. It's not one parent, I think it's both of you," chuckled Emily.

Cal rolled his eyes playfully at his daughter and said, "Well it's getting late and I'm sure everyone's had a long day. What do you say we all settle down?"

"Sounds good to me," said Tim.

"Yeah he didn't get to sleep until noon today," said Gillian.

"Ha ha. Like you don't sometimes," said Tim.

"Not anymore," said Gillian, "For a little body, Sophie needs all my attention."

Tim shook his head jokingly, "Night sis. Night Cal, Em, Mom, Dad."

"Good night son," said Mike, "Good night Gilly Bean and little Sophie," he said kissing Gillian and Sophie.

Emily retreated to her room and Cal and Gillian headed to their room. Gillian fed and changed Sophie one more time, hoping to gain a few hours of sleep before the next feeding. She crawled into bed and snuggled next to Cal, "I love you sweetheart," she said to him.

Cal kissed her back, "I love you too Gilly Muffin," he said affectionately.
