Note : Hey guys! Sorry about the late update! I was out helping my grandfather on the farm, and the cat has recently been jumping up into my arms the moment I sit down, and I just don't have the heart to boot him when he gives me that sweet little kitty smile of his so I can't write when he's lying in my arms. That, and I've had to help my grandfather on the farm, in the house, in town, had a bunch of appointments, and I needed to consult with a few other Fanfiction writers whose OCs I'm using in this story to help me with the upcoming chapters.

That being said, here's the next update and while it may take a while to get the chapters out, I am working on them.

(Normal POV)

Swerving through traffic without a care in the world, Barricade vented softly.

He'd long ago been 'replaced' on his mission to track the femmes. According to Starscream, his damages and his inability to capture her already showed he wasn't 'up to the job'.

Barricade might have cared, if he wasn't pretty much done with the war as it was.

Or maybe he was just done with Starscream.

Who knew, at this point?

Not for the first time, as Barricade slid past a group of humans standing at a cross walk, he found himself wondering... Why was he fighting in the war? The very planet he sought to 'liberate' with the Decepticons was gone. Their little war had destroyed it. This little mud ball was hardly a replacement, and Megatron was gone.

Pit, even if he wasn't... Why were they still fighting?

What were the chances they'd get the Allspark back, with only a handful of Decepticons? Sure, maybe they could beat the Autobots. Maybe they'd get the Cube and re-make Cybertron, but...then what? More fighting until it was destroyed again? Then use the Cube, again, only to keep fighting and destroy it, again?

It was a vicious cycle, and 'Cade was tired!

::Frenzy has located both Megatron and the Allspark.::

The call through the internal comm link had Barricade swerving to 'park' sharply on the shoulder of the highway as he immediately tuned in to the conversation. It wasn't so much that the Allspark was found. He knew the Witwicky boy would be the key to finding it. It was the mention of his partner, Frenzy.

Even if he was done with the war, what kind of mech would he be if he abandoned Frenzy?

But then again, wasn't he just thinking of abandoning Starscream and the femmes? The femmes with a sparkling? What kind of mech was he, that he was willing to abandon the little bot in the hands of organics who were known for their barbaric nature?

::The Autobots have also located it and are moving towards it. Decepticons, mobilize!::

There was silence then, and the feeling of Starscream's end of the link cutting off. The sudden lack of communication was...startling, because-::What of the organic femmes?:: Hadn't Starscream had a plan to capture them? 'Cade knew his communications had been glitching in and out, but what had he missed?

The link was silent.

Tense.

None of the other Decepticons, who'd been murmuring in the background, dared to speak up or second the question. In fact, they all fell decidedly silent, as if also waiting that bit of news. Or...knowing something he didn't...

But the link remained silent.

Barricade's optics narrowed and a tension built within his chest plates.

Silence could only mean one thing-

::Thundercracker has failed.:: Starscream's voice was clipped and hard. Colder than usual. And on a good day, Starscream was about as warm as an iceberg, so that was saying something. ::The femmes and the sparkling remain in the care of the Autobots, and Thundercracker has been gravely injured. He will be unable to assist us in Mission City. Barricade-::

The cruiser shifted as 'Cade tensed.

::You're to track him and assist in repairing priority damages. I don't want him falling into the hands of those organics with their freezing weapons, as the Autobot Scout did. Retrieve him and return to base for further orders.::

Seriously? Sparkling-sitting duty?

::I can help in the battle!::

::Don't be foolish! You're damaged as well. I've scanned you myself.::

Positively recoiling from the harsh tone, 'Cade blinked.

It wasn't possible.

Was that concern in-

::You'll only slow us down and get in the way.::

Nope. Nevermind.

::You have your orders! Decepticons, move out!::

With a small groan, Barricade rolled back onto the road, automatically searching for, locating and tracking Thundercracker's weak energy signature, before pulling an illegal U-Turn that had several humans squealing out of the way in their vehicles and honking and cussing at him, and heading off towards the damaged Seeker.

The entire time, he found himself wondering... What was going to happen to the sparkling?

(Mission City, Eliana's POV)

Everything was chaos.

The shit hit the fan.

But there was always time for glomping the slag out of a certain yellow and black scout, and babbling half-coherent apologies as I did so. No matter how scared I was, no matter how crazy things were, the first thing I did after dropping Sunfire (and Kat's little Nokia-baby) off with Ratchet and jumping out of his ass end, was b-line (no pun intended) it to the little Camaro as he finished transforming, and wrap my arms as tightly as I possible could around his ankle.

"I'm so sorry, Bee! I'm so, so, so sorry!"

Behind me, everything seemed to be happening at once. I was vaguely aware of the girls reuniting. There were screams, explosions, instructions, orders, introductions, bitching... And all the while, I clung to the little scout...who was gently running a single finger over my head, like I was some kind of dog.

And if this was any other situation, I might have bitched or joked about it.

His leg armor seemed to vibrate against my body. It reminded me the feeling of riding in Jazz and Optimus. It was endlessly...amazing. That feeling of warmth, like some kind of aritifical pulse that seemed to radiate from every inch of their forms. Well, that I'd touched, anyways. And yes, I know how bad that sounds. But this vibration, this warmth... This was life. Bee's life. He was alive, and standing there, and when I could finally tear my arms off him and lean back enough to look him over, he wasn't torn to slag.

We hadn't screwed up beyond belief!

We hadn't gotten him killed!

Looking up into his brilliant, sky blue optics, I felt the tears in my eyes. He was okay! "I'm so sorry, Bee! I tried to stop it, but it was too late, and I-"

It's okay, it's alright-I'm-Five by five!

"Yeah. I'm fine, thanks for the concer-ACK!"

I really didn't want to take my eyes off Bee. I had this paranoia brewing in the back of my head that if I did, something would happen to him, but at the same time, I couldn't help but glance towards the sound of the shouts behind me.

Kathy was wincing and rubbing her head with one hand, and awkwardly patting Tina's back, as the latter clung to her tightly, babbling about all the violent things she was going to do to her 'sweet cousin', if she ever 'do something that stupid again!'.

"-And they were treating us like we were the enemy, and wouldn't even hear us out! And they threatened us! I and swear Sunstreaker was going to step on me, and I didn't even do anything!"

"...Uh, what did I miss?" Kat looked at me blankly, still patting Tina's back awkwardly.

"Other than the Autobots being total assholes about the whole Sector Seven bullshit?" Erika glared briefly as Ironhide rushed past them, barking orders at the soldiers following him, before she turned and leaned heavily against Bee's leg next to me, hugging it tightly in a one-armed bro hug. "Just the Autobots being total assholes about the whole Sector Seven bullshit. Oh, and Eliana almost getting 'Con-napped by Thundercrapper, before Sunny-"

"Don't call me that!" The yellow twin's voice echoed down the street, from about forty feet away, where he and Sides were working together to build a barricade out of parked cars.

Erika raised an eyebrow at him, before turning back to Kat. "-before Sunny blew Crapper a new exhaust hole. Crapper dropped Eliana, who was holding Sunfire at the time, Optimus learned to fly in order to catch her, and apparently she's speaking to Gods now!"

"...Optimus flew?"

Erika gave me a look. "That's what you're taking away from all that?"

"I thought Optimus couldn't fly in the earlier movies."

"He can't."

"But you just said-"

"I didn't mean it literal-Can we focus, please? We've got a fudging war going on around us! Now's not really the time to be quibbling over semantics!"

"...Is 'quibbling' even a word?"

My head was kind of spinning over the whole 'being dropped by a Seeker and caught by a certain Autobot leader' thing. Even here, in the midst of a Cybertronian war in the middle of a squishy Earthling city. I'd heard it before, but I still wasn't quite processing it. Almost absently, I found myself looking around, trying to locate the flashy semi with the gorgeous flame decals I adored.

But Optimus was nowhere to be seen.

And I was suddenly back on the bridge, hearing Sam screaming 'block them, block them, block them!' and watching Optimus slam on his breaks and transforming on the spot to take on... What was his name? The Decepticon that cut that bus in half?

He'll be okay, though. A small, confident voice in the back of my head whispered. We didn't change anything to do with that, and he owned that 'Con's aft with ease in the movie.

"I hate to break up this touching moment-" Ironhide's heavily accented voice broke through my thoughts, and I jerked. My head snapped up as the big black Weapons Specialist dropped into a crouch next to us, optics fixed to some point up in the sky. "-but we've got incoming!"

There was something a bit odd about watching his nose twitch.

Because, holy shit, his nose twitched!

Then, he straightened. "It's Starscream!"

And just like that, the lull in the insanity faded, and Bee was firmly pushing me into Erika, and then pushing our stumbling assets over to Sam and Mikeala, who were standing back with Lennox and Epps-

Oh! Lennox and Epps are here!

The fan girl in me gave a sharp, high pitched 'Woo-Hoo!' in the back of my head, right as my eyes landed on another girl.

I might not have noticed her. She looked like anybody else. You know, except for the fact she wasn't running away. In fact, she stood near the soldiers, looking confused and lost, with Kat and Tina at her sides, and... "You're the new girl, right?" I stumbled and flapped a hand at Bee's prodding finger (that so didn't sound right!) as I was jostled over a pile of debris on the road and nearly ended up kissing the ground.

Again.

Said new girl gave me a look and seemed to hesitate, before opening her mouth slowly-

Only to be cut off as Ironhide's shout exploded my ear drums and every window in a ten mile radius.

...I might have been exaggerating a wee bit...

After all, he wasn't Sam.

"Back up! Take cover! Bumblebee!"

Spinning in place, I watched as Bee raced over to help Ironhide lift a truck and carry it towards us. They moved so quickly and purposefully, but still somehow managed to be completely aware of all the humans racing around, carefully avoiding each and every one. I found myself watching as they moved...and suddenly my eyes widened when I remembered Bumblebee's legs.

And how they got blown off!

Suddenly, I was running forward. This we could change! "Bee! Your legs! Watch your legs!"

I jerked forward into a stumbling run towards the bot who...either didn't hear me, or didn't (couldn't?) listen and move. Behind me, I heard the girls shouting. Then a wall slammed into me.

At least, that's what it felt like.

It was hot, rough and painful. It felt like I was being pelted with rough grit and burning hot air, and I felt it as I was thrown off my feet! I felt...weightless. Like I was the one learning to fly. Everything seemed to soar past me, backwards. The ground, cars, buildings... For a split second, there was a flash and I was back at Joe's Mechanics, being tossed through the air like some kind of fleshy rag doll by that Decepticon.

I didn't really even remember when I hit the ground. Did I black out? I didn't remember blacking out. Did anyone ever 'remember' blacking out? I remembered waking up. Or, at least the feeling like I was waking up, as I opened my eyes to blindingly bright light.

My head felt all foggy, and I had a hard time making sense of anything going on around me. The first thing I was aware of was the fact I was lying on the ground. I laid there, choking and gasping for air while I struggled to remember how to breathe. Then, as the feeling came back to my body, I struggled to sit up, wincing when all I could hear was a dull roar behind a deafening, high pitched whine. My vision was nothing but blurry blobs, and all the rapid blinking in the world wasn't helping that.

But, thankfully, things did come back to me.

The blast.

Starscream's blast.

And just like that, despite being dazed and confused, I found myself looking around, trying to gauge the situation.

"Ellie!"

I saw a blonde blob racing towards me, and breathed a sigh of relief when I felt Erika's hand grabbing my entirely too sore shoulders as she tried to drag me to my feet. "Ow! Frag, Erika! That hurts!" I winced as she grabbed a bruised spot-

Wait, was anything not bruised by this point?

Hell, I'd be amazed if there was!

"You gotta get up! Ellie, c'mon!"

Wincing, I stumbled to my feet, breathing a breath of nearly hysterical laughter at the jelly feeling in my legs. I'd heard of people describing 'jelly legs'. That feeling like one's legs had turned into overcooked noodles. Now here I was, experiencing it, and even though it wasn't the first time, it was no less alarming. I wobbled on the spot, breathing deeply, trying to keep calm and gather my wits as my vision finally began to clear up, and Erika just seemed to keep babbling which...oddly enough, was only helping.

It was giving me something to focus on. Priorities to prioritize.

"We gotta find Jazz and Bee, and make sure the Allspark's safe!"

Then Tina and Kathy appeared, Zayda in tow.

"Didn't you say Eliana saw Primus? Primus told her seven of us are here, and we all have to touch the Allspark at the same time."

"We don't even know what that'll accomplish!"

"Well, considering there's only five of us here, and we don't know shit about the other two, can we focus on what we do know?" Erika spat angrily, glowering at the others. "Jazz was in danger of offlining! We gotta make sure he doesn't!"

"What about the others? There was no Sunstreaker, Sideswipe or Jolt in the movie! What if they're in danger now, too!"

"Then we watch them all!"

"Seriously? I'm no soldier!"

Erika suddenly straightened and turned to them. "Alright! Enough! Listen up, everyone! We wished to be brought here! We each made the wish, and according to Ellie, we were all brought here because we damn well meant our wishes! Well guess what? This is our chance! We can finally actually do something to protect our bots from the Decepticons and backstabbing human government! You can run and hide in fear if you want, or we can all stand together and use what we know to do something about it!"

I felt a knot of determination bubble up in the pit of my stomach and straightened next to Erika. "Primus told me he chose us because he trusts us. He told me he had faith in us, and that we should have faith in ourselves. I think... I think we should trust him back! If he told us to touch the Allspark, there has to be a reason, and I, for one, am gonna trust him." I nodded. "We can do something. We can save Jazz, and make sure Sideswipe never loses his brother. We can protect Prime and the sparklings!"

"We're just human." Zayda was probably the most frightened looking of the five of us.

And I understood that fear, because, for all my words, the very same fear was eating at me, too. I kept seeing death. Just looking around me, I saw the roads littered with bodies. I heard the screams of soldiers, watching as they were blasted through the air by hostile fire. I could smell burning flesh.

"Primus chose us for a reason." Erika turned to me. "I gotta find Jazz. I can't just sit back and let him die!"

I nodded, looking around again.

Now my vision was clearer. I could make out what I was seeing better. Down the street, back the way we'd come, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were taking on a massive black Decepticon. There was no sight of Jolt, Ratchet, Jazz, Ironhide, Prime or...

"Where's Bee?"

"Hey!" Will Lennox seemed to melt out of the chaotic mess and ran up to us, looking each of us over with a slightly horrified look. "You're all Kathleen-"

"Don't call me that!"

Everyone kind of fell silent and stared at the pouting curly-haired brunette, before she winced.

"Sorry. Spent too much time around Sunny."

Everyone glanced over at the yellow twin, but he either didn't hear her or didn't care, because he didn't even so much as glance our way.

Will shook his head. "This is a real bad place for you all to be standing around! I don't know if you noticed, but we're in the middle of a war!"

"Gee, you think?"

SMACK!

"OW! What the absolute fu-"

"Don't disrespect Lennox!" I glared at Erika as she rubbed the spot I'd just Gibbs smacked. "Lennox is cool!"

He stuck her tongue out at me.

Lennox blinked at us, mouth working silently a moment, before he shook his head. "...That's never gonna stop being weird, is it?" Then he made a face and heaved a breath. "Right, well you gotta get to safety, okay? You gotta go! Head to the subway station, it's underground and safest! We'll send someone to get you when it's safe!" He glanced at me, giving me a once over and wincing noticeably. "You good?"

I winced as his question seemed to spark a unanimous 'Pit no!' from every bruise on my body. I keep up at this rate, and I'm not gonna be, for long. First getting battered by a Decepticon, then getting battered by a Decepticon, and now getting battered by a Decepticon. And all in the space of two days. I had a feeling that when this was all over, I had a mental breakdown waiting with my name on it.

I opened my mouth to assure him I was fine, when a shout caught my attention.

"BUMBLEBEE!"

My eyes snapped to Kathy, who looked utterly horrified, and without even having to look, I knew what happened. I watched as she ran off to some point behind me, Sam's voice ehocing through both my head head and...some point behind me.

Flashback

"Oh my God, Bee! Your legs!"

End Flashback

I felt sick as I slowly turned. Around me, I could hear the other girls crying out, and Tina and Erika joined her on their race over to the fallen bot who was crawling pitifully across the ground. Nausea curled in the pit of my stomach as I took in his legs, and how they sparked, scraping across the pavement. They were gone from the knees down, and God only knew where they were now.

"K-Ka... Kathy..."

I turned to the very pale Zayda as she walked up beside me, arms crossed tightly across her chest, as though she was trying to ward off a chill.

"She said you were...a mechanic, right? You can... You can help him, right?" She looked at me, fear and worry in her blue-green eyes.

Help him... And just like that, my eyes widened. I'm no soldier, but I am a mechanic! I can help! "Come on!" I raced over to the others. "Bee! Bee stop! You've gotta stop!"

"Y-You gotta get up!" Sam sat against a pile of debris in front of the crawling bot.

And Kathy stood over him, snarling at him angrily. "What do you expect him to do? Pull a spare pair of legs out of his aft?! He can't stand up, stupid!" Then, without a word, she turned back to the bot who had finally made it to the Cube and was holding it tightly in one hand. "It's okay, Bee! You'll be okay!"

I joined her quickly, pausing only long enough to Gibbs smack Sam, just because that was one of several lines that made me want to. Then, ignoring his cry of 'What is this, beat up Sam day?', I raced over to Bee and reached out to run a hand down one of his cheeks. "It's okay, Bee! I can help!" I turned to Erika. "I need tools!"

"But, I...I... What about-"

"I'll find Jazz!" Just like that, Kathy was stepping up once again. She gave a weak, grim smile to us and nodded. "I'll keep an eye out on him, just in case."

"And I'll watch the twins!" When Kat raised an eyebrow and smirked at her cousin, Tina blushed furiously and scowled at her. "Not like that! Just... Just keeping an eye out for them! Just in case!"

"I... I guess... I'm here, I mean... I might as well watch Jolt and the others. It'll... It'll help, right? If I just hide and watch them, and warn them?" Zayda was looking back and forth between us, not looking entirely convinced, but with the same glimmer of determination sparking in her eyes as Erika, Kathy and Tina all seemed to have.

"It'll help a lot." Erika nodded.

They go help the bots, and I work on doing what I can to fix Bee's legs. Somehow, it didn't seem like a whole lot, but this was what I knew I could do, so do it I would. "So we all have our jobs?" I looked at the others, including Sam and Mikeala who stayed back and out of the way. "We'll watch over the bots. We'll watch their backs." Then I turned to Erika. "But I really need tools if I'm going to stop the bleeding-" Because, energon or not, what he was doing was technically 'bleeding'. "-and sparking in Bee's legs!"

"Okay." She nodded again, breathing deeply. "Okay. Tools. I can do that! I... I'll be right back! I'll be right back! Just-Just hang on!" And then she was gone, racing down the street, through the chaos.

And another glance showed the other girls breaking apart, heading in different directions. I knelt at Bee's side, watching Sam sitting on the debris pile, staring sadly at Bee. I watched Mikeala run off, and let her, hoping this part of the movie didn't change either. I patted Bee's face, aching and wincing, and... Well... I think I was a bit too overwhelmed to be entirely terrified, but the day was still young!
