The government was very kind to us.

They let us go to school without pay or restrictions, and I was able to learn a few things in the two years I was in "High school" and even more in "College." Tobias had only attended one year of High school, but the following year I went to the same University as him. Although we studied different things, and were in different classes, and couldn't even dorm together, we still met up in whatever time we had to spare. After four years I graduated with a degree in Earth Science, and Tobias with a law degree.

We've both been advocating against Experimental States, like Indiana and Chicago, which were set up by the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. From what I've learned in my history classes, The Bureau was discovered after a major war that involved the entire world. Afterwards, there were a group of people who believed it started from genetic flaws, and wanted to prove it. But it was illegal to do any genetic mutilations to living beings, so the group decided to prove that one group, the Divergent, were better human beings than anyone who wasn't Divergent.

"Technically," My High School history teacher said "Everyone in the experiments is Divergent, since no one was really genetically altered. It's just that when your raised one way, very few people are willing to change from what they've known for so long. The experiments are theoretical, and have continued this long because The Bureau has a lot of support from conspirators.

But Tobias has found evidence a year ago against the Bureau leader, David. Tobias found proof that he had developed the mindless simulation, and delivered it to Jeanine, to keep the Faction system running. What he didn't expect, was for a rebel group-us-to find contact information by hacking into the Abnegation systems.

The experiment states are said to be disbanded and redone at the start of this year, in February. Today is the last day of January. After this week, my family will be reunited again.

My mom and my dad have been advocating the end tot he faction system, and having teaching Chicago about Democracy, as a way to ease people into the United States. It seems to be working.

Tobias is training for a job in police enforcement, in New York. Now that the Experiment states have been disbanded, he didn't want to spend all day in a court room or a legislation office, but he still wanted to do something with his degree. His aim never faltered after years without a gun, so I'm sure he'll pass.

Christina on the other hand, did become a lawyer. As well as my best friend, much to Four's dislike-they had classes together, and it was awkward for him since she was no longer his subordinate.

Will became a technician, and works for computer companies. Al is a secretary for a politician-how he did it, I don't know. He's also married to a woman named Mary Ann, who works as a librarian. I don't see them much, but Christina tells me they're good for each other.

Zeke decided that being Four's leech was his life time dream, so he went into the police academy with him. Shauna, not really wanting anything to do with violence, decided to work at a bakery. It's meager pay from what I'm told, but it doesn't matter to her-she's happy. The two of them always look at each other when the other isn't watching, and I wonder when one of them will kindle the spark.

Marlene and Uriah quickly started dating during High School-making out in every corner, and doing God knows what in closets. They married after college, both with a degree in public speaking. From what I hear, Marlene's pregnant with a boy that they decided to name Jasper, after Uriah's father.

Lynn works at a gym. With her girlfriend, Bertha. I don't really care about that-they're happy, I'm happy. What scares me is that Lynn is completely changed. I guess she was always so mad at the time because she had a lot of pent up secrets she felt were necessary to hide. She smiles more, and is more energetic than angry these days.

From what I hear about Chicago, the factions have existed for a few years, happy that things have gotten back to the old ways...excpet that more people want to go out the fence, and very few are interested in staying in a faction society. Tori, and the other new leaders took a vote as to what should happen to the leaders of the former Dauntless. The vote was to have the same fate as Jeanine Mattews, since they were so willing to follow her before-and if you recall, she was given death.

And then there's me. Tris. During High School, I learned that I don't really enjoy the idea of being a government official. My passion was Earth Science and Archaeology. Human history and Earth's alterations as a result. I get to travel to area's around the world discovering ancient civilizations or old animals, and when I get home to New York-with Tobias- I write paper's on the things I've learned about Human Nature in those days. It's quite interesting-I could go on and on, but it seems to bore people when I talk about it. Except for Tobias. Only, he ends up kissing me mid-speech when ever I get into heated discussions about my trips. I also do a lot of public speeches and presentations for schools and zoos and aquariums-my favorite is the one of Surf Avenue, Brooklyn. It's where Eight, now an adult, lives. It turns out that he's tame to a great standard. People are willing to hold him, and he only ever attacks his meals. He's never used his venom on human being. I see him every few months, and Tobias comes along too.

I told him he'd like Eight.

I look at the engagement ring on finger, and marvel at it. It has a silver band, with light blue and black stones around it with a diamond in the middle. His is a silver band with sapphire and black stones around it, like mine, with a grey stone in the middle.

"So, you want a snow wedding." He states, looking at me.

"Yes!" I say excitedly. "Snow is amazing, every single one is different, because they've all went through different forms of damage, like people with life, and spring and summer weddings are so over-done, and fall weddings are too...orange, so we need to have a winter one. And it has to be in December, because January is kind of a weird sounding month, February is Valentine's day which is really cliche-"

"Okay, Jesus, I get it." Tobias says smirking. "But we'll have to wait a year."

"What's the hurry?" I ask.

"Nothing." He says kicking the ground. And then I get it.

"Are you scared my paren'ts might say no or something?"

"No."

"Yes, you are!" I say pointing at him.

"Wouldn't you be nervous, if you knew that Evelyn was coming?"

I give him a look. "She is coming."

"No, she's."

"Tobias." I say looking at him. "She's. Coming. To. Our. Wedding."

He stares at me, and I see his lips quiver, trying not to laugh. "Fine. But Marcus is not."

"Correct." I say, nodding my head. We keep walking through Central Park. "What are you looking forward to most, after getting married?"

"The honeymoon. You?"

"Tobias!"

"Well, I'd hope so. I wouldn't want you looking forward to anyone else after we marry."

"You know what I mean!" I say, my cheeks burning so red, global warming is minor problem.

He chuckles to himself. "I don't know. I don't want kids yet-maybe when I get used to working full time, when I'm out of the Academy..."

"I don't want kids yet, either." I say. "But I think we'll be alright if one pops into the picture." I wrinkle my nose. "Do you think giving birth will hurt too bad?"

"From what I've experienced, yes." He says patting his belly.

"You're so freaking hysterical."

"You know I heard that the more sex you have, the less it'll hurt," He says eyes alight. "So if you're really worried about it..."

He comes slowly to kiss me under my ear. I laugh and push him away. "Later." I say, kissing him. "What you really have to worry about is the fact that my parent's have no idea that we're even together."

Tobias straightens, and starts talking to himself, trying to say things to make him sound more respectable. I hear him mutter I promise to everything I can for your daughter-, no they might think I mean something sexual. She's very important to me-

I kiss him on the cheek as I lean in to him while on my tip toes. "You'll be fine."

"I am fine. I'm very fine. You know I'm fine. You've seen me shirtless."

"...alright, keep practicing."

I wait at the airport with Tobias and everyone else, waiting for Caleb, my parents, and everyone else's family. Tobias has a hand casually strung across my hip.

Life, I learned, is full of choices. Even one, can transform your whole destiny. But my choice, along with Tobias', and Zeke, and Shauna, and Christina's, and Will's-it changed the lives of many.

Would things have turned out differently had I chose Dauntless? I don't know-how different could it have turned out? But one thing I do know; I wouldn't trade this moment, with everyone I love and respect for anything in the world.

And my choices-they've made me more than anyone I could have ever hoped to be.
