Hey guys, I know it's been awhile but here is Chapter Thirty Four. I hope you like it! I would also like to take this time to remind you guys to take the poll for the sex of Jake and Nessie's baby; one person has so far. So, a big thanks to tammywammy9!
Guess what day it is! Guess, guess, guess! Today is the day that we are going to have everyone (yes I mean EVERYONE) over to tell them about our engagement. Emmett and I discussed this last night before we both fell asleep. Now I woke up before him and I don't have the heart to wake him up yet, he looks so adorable when he's asleep, so I've just been laying here staring at him and thinking about how everyone will react today.
I don't think we have anything to worry about with the kids. They already call each other brothers and sisters. I'm almost positive that they won't have a problem with us actually making it official.
I think it might be a little weird for my dad though. I mean I've been talking about Emmett to my dad every time I call him, but they haven't actually met yet. They have briefly talked on the phone a few times but that doesn't really count. So, when I call him today to invite he will not only be meeting Emmett for the first time but also finding out that I'm engaged. It'll be a big day for everyone I guess.
I decided to call my dad now to invite him. I really hope that he can come, I don't know if I would be comfortable telling everyone before my dad. It may be the daddy's little girl in me, but I think it would crush both me and my dad if he wasn't at least in the group that gets told first about my engagement. Even if it is to a guy he's never met in person.
I leaned over to the table by the bed to grab my cellphone, trying not to move too much so that I wouldn't wake up Emmett. When I successfully completed that mission, I leaned back over and dialed my dad's number. He picked up on the second ring.
"Hey, Bells. What's up?" he asked.
"Does anything have to be up for you to talk to your favorite person on Earth?" I asked sarcastically.
He laughed a little at that, "No, but you never really call me THIS early so you must have something on you mind."
I looked over at the clock. Wow. Its only 5:30? "I'm sorry. I didn't even realize that it was that early."
"Exactly. You have something on your mind so you woke up early, you always do. It's a Bella thing."
I giggled at that, "Yea, I guess it is. But the thing that's on my mind isn't super important," I lied, "we are just having everyone over to Emmett's for dinner tonight I was hoping that you would be able to come too. It would be a perfect time for you to finally meet Emmett!"
"Hmmm. That sounds good, I'm supposed to work but I think I can get someone to cover for me just for tonight. I really need to meet this guy. He seems pretty important to my baby girl." He said.
"He is important. And I'll see you later daddy!" I exclaimed.
"See ya baby girl. Love your face." He replied.
"Love your face."
I looked over at Emmett as I ended the call. His eyes were open and he was staring at me.
"What?" I laughed out.
"Two things." He said seriously. "One, you are SO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL. And two, I'm important?" he said the last part with a cocky little smile on his face… so of course I HAD to wipe it off somehow.
"Who says I was talking about you?" I asked.
He simply rose my eyebrow at me, "You were talking to your dad about coming over tonight, of course you were talking me. He already knows that Graham is important so obviously you're talking about me."
"Oh someone is using his detective skills today." I teased.
He huffed, "Pssh. I don't have to take this abuse." He went to sit up and leave. But before he could get all the way up I tackled him. We both leaned on the bed, me leaning over him and pinning him down.
"Don't leave. I love your face Em." I said in a sugary sweet voice, ensuring that we both knew that we were both joking around.
He rolled his eyes, "I love your face too, babe." Then he stretched his neck as far as he could to try to kiss me. Of course I conceded and leaned the rest of the way down toward him.
Soon that kiss led to a serious make out session, but before it could become more than that we were interrupted by my phone ringing. It was my dad's ringtone so I didn't ignore it. Trust me knowing that your dad is calling isn't really a turn on.
So we stopped kissing and I sat on the bed as Emmett motioned that he was going to go showered and get dressed.
"Hey dad! Long time no talk." I said as I answered the phone.
"I know right?" I replied, "I was just calling to let you know that dinner tonight is a go. So, I'm just going to need you to give me Emmett's address. Oh, and what time should I get there?"
"Ok, I'll send you a text with his address so that you can copy it to your GPS. And I was thinking that we could have everyone get here around 5:00 and I should have dinner done by 5:30." I told him.
"Alright honey. Sounds good, I'll see ya soon."
"You sure will! Bye."
"Bye." He said as he hung up.
After I hung up with that call I started to get my stuff around to take a shower as well, but as soon as I walked away from my bag my phone rang again. This time it was Jake's ringtone so I couldn't ignore that either, he has my kids.
I sighed and went to pick the phone up again.
"Hello." I breathed out.
"Hey. We didn't wake you did we?" he asked.
"Nope I was just going to shower." I told him.
"Oh, good! I was just calling to tell you guys that Nessie and I are going to take the boys to lunch, the park, and then we will be heading over there." He said.
"Sounds good. You guys can hang out here until dinner; we want to have everyone over to eat tonight. Charlie is even coming."
"That sounds fun. I haven't seen Charlie in ages! I'll tell Nessie and the boys. See ya later chica." He replied then hung up not waiting for a reply from me.
During that phone call Emmett had finished so he went down stairs to make us some kind of food since we hadn't ate yet. And now that I was done talking, I finally got to take my shower.
When I finished getting all clean and whatnot I made my way downstairs just in time for Emmett to finish brunch and finish his phone call with his mom.
"… Mhmm. We just want everyone here by 5:00 and you don't have to bring anything we have it under control. I promise. Alright. Love you too Ma. Bye." He said then hung up the phone.
"She'll bring something anyway. You know that right?" I told him seriously as he placed a plate in front of me. "Thanks." I said in regards to the food.
"No problem." He said about the food. "And I know she will, she can't help it. It's in her nature. She said she would call Alice and Edward too. So, that's everyone. Are you ready to tell everyone?"
I beamed at him and reached my hand over to his, "Of course I'm ready! I can't wait for everyone to know. I'm sure everyone will be thrilled for us, which makes it even better."
"Good! I'm excited too. I'm so glad that I decided to ask you to be my wife sooner rather than later." He said. This of course made me smile even wider, and made my heart swell more as well. We both leaned into each other for another kiss and murmured our 'I love yous.'
