The Half - Chapter 35: No choice, but to obey
"Alright; I need to let you know a few things, first, before we go any further." Sinbad stated, as they stood to a quieter and closed off area of the harbor.
"Ok." She nodded, as her eyes left from the sights of another ship, and turned to face her half master. Her blue eyes hiding everything in her life, but seemed to show off her wonder for that that was around her. It had been a different harbor and even a different city than the one she had originally came form. The trip from Sindria to here was much shorter, by a land slide.
"I don't want you to use your Djinn powers, while we are here, ok? I have a feeling that it will cause unwanted attention and rumors to spread." His eyes looked out to the side of his eyes, as if to make sure no one was listening in on them. "If you need to use them, let me know what you are getting into first."
The female gave a respectful nod, "I will have no choice but to do such, if you are making me, Sinbad." Her eyes looked up to meet his with firmness. "Since you hold onto my item, I am forced into obeying commands like that, even if it is against my will. It's what comes from being Djinn." Her eyes glanced down for a moment, as if she were disappointed in the fault that she had, with being half Djinn. It wasn't something that she could easily ignore.
"Interesting…" He began, and pulled his head back in interest to her statement, but soon shook his head as he returned to what he was mentioning. "We don't want to draw too much attention here- "
"Do we need to wear disguises?"
"No-"
"Then how do we and I mean you mostly, going to go about in not drawing attention? Unlike me, people will most likely know who you are. I can easily fit into the crowd, since I had done it for so many years." She gave a sigh as her eyes went down to the floor at their feet, once more.
"We are just going to walk about and not try to cause any trouble, does that make sense?"
"Ok." She looked up and gave another firm nod.
"Good. I have to meet with a few other officials at this building." He held up a small hand drawn map of the city. Showing a larger building that seemed to hold more importance than others. "This is where we are going. We will be staying here as well, just in case if we do end up getting separated. But lets try to avoid that happening, ok?" he smiled as he folded the map up and slid it back into the place he had pulled it from.
"Got it." she nodded, once more.
With the ending of their conversation, on that one phrase, Sinbad looked up and stepped out and back into the more traveled roadways.
"Let's get going then, shall we?" he smiled and held out a hand towards Kyo, but she had seemed to take the gesture as one of a guide rather than for her to take his hand. Her person stepping out, and then past him, as she took the first lead with her eyes to look about. Now to look more in caution, rather than wonder, as her blue optics moved from person to person and shop to shop.
With a slight chuckle, Sinbad withdrew his hand and took the lead past her as he was to guide them to the destination; a place that was, also, not too far away from the harbor. The streets were not busy at all, meaning that it was either an off day for trading, or that it had cleared up from the last event that might have taken place that morning, prior to their arrival.
Within not even an hour, they were to arrival at the building. It towers over those around it, not only in size, but also in presentation. It was to look as though it was created by Djinn's strength in itself, as the building towered over them in more than two floors. The inside was to put the outside to shame, however, as it was decorated with the finest of cloth and decorations. Import furniture's from all around the area could be pointed out, and made the front area seem as though it were a museum of art. Kyo's eyes wondered in awe as she looked up and around the room. Sinbad had seemed to show no reaction, as it would turn out to be not his first time here.
"I will be going into a meeting for a few hours. So you can either go to the room they have assigned us, or go out for a bit. But don't go too far, the streets here can get a bit confusing." The purple haired male spoke of, as he returned from consulting with someone who worked there.
"I think I will just go out for a while. If it's you, then your meetings are most likely going to last till sundown; you take so long" she smirked a bit, at her own teasing. "You take your time and ask for too many breaks.
"What's wrong with that?" he smiled, playing at her own tease. "I like to stretch my legs and take my time for things when it comes to boring meetings."
"Mr. Sinbad?" A guide spoke up, calling to the Sindria King.
"I'll see you later after the meeting. It shouldn't take too long, I promise." He smiled and gave a slight wave gesture as he turned away from the half Djinn and followed after the guide into a large set of doors. Kyo was left behind to do as she pleased till the finishing of the meeting. And her mind was already running out the building as it had been sometime since she had been off the island of Sindria.
To be continued….
