Ok first I'm really sorry for the late update and second this chapter is really short. I was suffering from a really bad case of writers block, don't know how long I sat and stared at the screen trying to write this chapter then along came the random plot bunny again lol. The second part of this chapter just kinda wrote itself this afternoon, I really had no intention of doing this but I couldn't change it, it just worked to well. I really hope that I can get back to regular updates on Monday. Let me know what you think :)
Gohan wasn't sure what he expected as he followed his twin into the house, but it wasn't this. The house was cool, which was a much needed relief from the intense heat outside. Looking around he could tell that while the pair were not very well off they cared about their house and the few decorations that accented each room. There were no colours other than the natural colours of the furniture. The wall were the dirty tan colour of mud and most of the furniture was either the dark brown of wood or the light red of stones and rock, but it all worked well together giving the entire house a warm natural feeling. It wasn't a large house, having only a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. From the quick look he got Gohan knew that one room was larger holding what seemed to be a queen sized bed and a couple of dressers. The second room still had the two smaller beds that Gohan figured had belonged to his grandfather and Arttok as children, along with a singular dresser. Like the bedrooms the bathroom was small, having only a sink, toilet and a shower stall.
Compared to the other rooms the kitchen was huge. Counters ran along one wall under the large window Bardock had stuck his head in earlier. At either end were what appeared to be a stove and a fridge. The other side of the kitchen was dominated by a large stone table, while three sides had wooden chairs tucked under the fourth side had a bench which had been pulled out in order to stack the food that couldn't fit on the table. Turning around he saw Kaida watching him, blushing he walked back over to her. "So what are we supposed to do?" a light chuckle from behind made him spin around only to find Kahle standing in the doorway. "Well Gohan…?" the younger man nodded prompting the Kahle to continue, "First we have to wait for the others to finish putting up the tables outside then we will begin taking out the food." Gohan looked out the window trying to catch a glimpse of the men moving tables. Kahle noticed the direction of his gaze and chuckled, "how about until they get their tails in gear we sit down and relax." He sat down in one of the chairs at the table and motioned for Gohan and Kaida to join him. Kaida was quick to join her Tupuna at the table, pulling out one of the chairs on the side and waited for Gohan to join them. Gohan glanced out the window one more time before joining them at the table. "So Gohan why don't you tell me all about you and your life on earth." The younger man looked up at his elder's eager face and couldn't help himself but smile back at him before launching into his life's story.
Out in the yard Tarrokot had finally broken up both fights between siblings and cousins and put their energy towards setting up the table. After making sure that Chi-Chi was still behaving Kakarot went to help his brother move tables around. With the seven of them working together it didn't take long before the long of tables and benches had been set up. Knowing that he was probably going to get in the way of whatever came next and as he hadn't been asked to help with anything else Kakarot headed over to where Chi-Chi was standing watching the cubs play.
"You doing ok there Chi-Chi?" Carefully he tried to wrap his tail around her wrist again but she pulled away violently. "No Goku it's not ok! These…these monsters are going to corrupt our boys." Kakarot began to growl, softly trying to hide his ire from the rest of his family, if Chi-Chi heard she didn't seem to care as she just continued her rant. "I don't know how you can think it's a good idea to allow our boys around such perverts and freaks. It's not natural Goku, two men being together. People like that should not be allowed around decent people."
He had been trying to keep his growling quiet, he really had, but hearing her call his grandparents and brother freaks and perverts he lost all control and let out a loud violent growl mixed with snarling. He clenched and unclenched his hands at his sides trying to keep himself from hitting her for her sheer stupidity. "I've had it with you Chi-Chi, you're going back to earth…" she brightened at that, "alone. The kids are staying here with me." Her eyes widened and she went a little pale, "but Goku…"
"ENOUGH!" he snarled at her. "I've had enough Chi-Chi you're going back alone and while you're there start packing your things. I don't want you in my house when I get back. Understood?" by this time Chi-Chi had gone deathly pale and had begun trembling, "but…but Goku you can't be serious."
"King Kai," he shouted. "Yes Go…um Kakarot what can I do for you?" Kakarot sneered at his wife, "send Chi-Chi back to earth now please. Oh and can you ask Piccolo to make sure that she only takes her things and is gone from my house. I don't want her there when we return, and send Videl back as well would you." There was a thick silence before King Kai answered, "ok…Kakarot. If that's what you want. I'll pass along the message to Piccolo for you." Kakarot smirked at Chi-Chi, "thanks King Kai." With a slight poof Chi-Chi disappeared.
Turning around he was a little surprised to find all three of his kids watching him. "Mom's gone now right dad?" Goten asked looking hopeful. "Yes," he said slowly watching their faces, "I sent her back to earth," do I tell them I kicked her out of the house? I know that Gohan and Kaida will have little issue with it but Goten, I just don't know. Gohan caught his eye and gave him a slight nod as if telling him that it's alright to tell Goten. Well here goes. Gods I hope I'm doing the right thing. "I also asked your mother to leave the house. She will not be home when we return." He waited with bated breath for the explosion he half expected from the boys only to be surprised when he got nothing but smiles and laughs. "That's good dad." Gohan clasped him on the shoulder, "as much as I love mom, I really think it's best for us this way." Any heart to heart that would have resulted was interrupted by Kahle announcing that lunch was ready. Kakarot picked up Goten and set the boy on his shoulders before wrapping arm around each of the twins and heading over to settle themselves at the table and help with the devouring of the massive feast Kahle had set out.
