Chapter 34
Beth slowly stirred and opened her eyes at Terminus. She was alone in the warehouse that she had fallen asleep in. The light bulb in the middle of the room would occasionally flicker. Beth sat up and grit her teeth together when she looked down at her leg.
Letting out a sigh of relief, she saw that it had been wrapped up with gauze. The wraps around her leg were covered in dark blood, signaling to Beth that it was tended to recently.
Beth slowly swung her legs over the side of the table. hissing when a sharp pain shot up her right leg. She put her weight on her left leg and slowly went over to one of the doors. She slowly opened it, ready for the sun to get in her eyes. Instead, she saw the moon and stars in the dark sky.
Nobody else was around, but she could hear faint yelling from a far distance away. But, it was still at Terminus. Beth still felt incredibly drowsy from the injection they had given her. She had to lean on the wall for support.
As Beth kept walking, she got used to the pain in her leg, but she still couldn't walk on it. She'd been ecstatic when no one had caught her by then, but she assumed everyone was at the source of the yelling.
Beth jumped in fright when she heard a gunshot. Just one, though. One single gunshot. Then another. And more and more until it was all Beth could hear. She picked up her pace a bit and stopped leaning on the wall, concerned.
When she finally got to the source of the noise, she peered her head around the corner of the building and gasped, then shrunk back against the wall again.
All of her friends were there, hiding behind tables and shooting at the Terminus people. There were a lot more people from Terminus than there was from the prison, but that's never stopped them before.
The person that she noticed first was Daryl. He had his crossbow up and was aiming at somebody. Beth suddenly heard footsteps to the other side of her, so she sneaked into the building that she was standing against. Thankfully, it was empty.
After she stepped into the building, resting against the wall due to her foot, many other people walked by that wasn't anyone from her group. They all held guns in their hand as they ran around the corner.
Beth reached down and picked up a brick that her foot had nudged. As the last soldier rounded the corner, Beth stepped out of the shadows and slammed the brick into the side of the man's skull. The man fell to the ground, a dent in his temple.
Beth leaned down to grab the military rifle that the man had, not having enough time to feel the amount of guilt that she usually would feel. Beth also snatched up the long knife that was tucked in the man's pocket on his shirt, and put it in the back pocket of her jeans.
Leaning on the building, Beth put up her gun to shoot. If she went out in the middle of the fight to join her friend's sides, she would no doubt get shot in the middle of it all. She decided that she was in the best position that she was in now.
As she shot at the enemies, she noticed one thing was wrong with the situation. Carol and Gareth weren't there. She thought that they would be the first two people to be there. She shrugged it off, though, and kept shooting.
At some point, Daryl spotted Beth against the wall. He sighed in relief when he saw her, eyebrows furrowed in concentration when she shot her gun. He used to think that Beth holding a gun looked wrong; she had been so small and weak back at the prison. Now she looked as if she could use it perfectly. And she was even better with a crossbow.
Daryl found it hard to concentrate on the enemies in front of him when he knew that Beth was okay. He wanted to run up and embrace her tightly in his arms. But he didn't. They weren't safe yet.
When Beth was spotted in the mess, she pressed back up against the wall and cursed as a few bullets ran past her. The she twisted around the corner to shoot again, killing the guy who had noticed her.
As soon as he went down, though, Beth felt someone grab her arm and yank, then pull her into the alley in between the buildings. She dropped her gun as her feet came out from under her and she was dragged to where the person was taking her. Beth looked up in front of her and saw Carol, with a knife in her hand.
A/N: So, who else is watching the Dead, White, and Blue marathon on AMC? I am! What I wanted to tell you guys is that unfortunately, this story is coming to a close. I'm going to write two or three more chapters, then the sequel! I'm DEFINITELY making one. And I wanted to ask you guys a favor. I'm horrible at finding good pictures for stories, so if one of you guys could PM me a link of a SUPER AWESOME Bethyl pic or something like that, it would be really cool to use for the sequel! Let me know what you thought of this chapter in the reviews! I'm going to start responding to every review that I get for the rest of the story! The Terminus/Team Prison war has begun! What do you think Carol is going to do to Beth!? You'll have to wait and read the future chapters. THANKS FOR READING!
