Disclaimer: I do not own Big Time RushGuys! It's been a while, but I'm back with a Halloween themed chapter! I had so much fun writing this chapter haha!
Also, I wrote my first one-shot and it is up now! I wrote it for Mrs. Henderson-Mitchell! It's a one-shot for this series and if you've ever wondered how things would've been different if Logan did leave Carlos for Dak, then check it out and please review!
The one-shot is called 'We Did It' and it's pretty long, but I hope you enjoy it.
In this Chapter...Halloween in the Mitchell Household!
Chapter 35: Carlos' POV
"Candy, candy, what candy should I get?" I asked Jett as we walked through the grocery store.
"I don't know," he chuckled. "What did you like as a kid."
"Fruit smackers…"
"And that's never changed," Jett smirked.
"Yeah it did, they're the reason Logan got hurt," I sighed, suddenly remembering the memory.
Jett and I are at the store, getting some last minute Halloween candy for the kids that are coming out tonight. Well, I'm getting it for Logan, who is going to be at home giving out candy and watching Evan while I take the kids out.
"Carlos, I wish you would stop blaming yourself for that," Jett stopped, looking at me seriously.
"That's kind of hard, and I'm freaking out because the trial is next week and it's a constant reminder of how this was all my fault in the first place," I said.
Jett just looked at me sadly. I know he was trying to understand, but he couldn't say that he did…not this time.
"I get the rape thing," He said eventually. "I still feel like it's my fault at times even though I'm the victim, but I can't say I understand how you're feeling about this trial. I wish I could help though."
"That's okay," I said. "You've been a great friend to me over the past few years."
"On a more lighthearted topic," He changed the subject (thankfully). "What are the kids going as?"
I smiled instantly at the mention of my kids, and there was an even bigger smile because of their costumes.
"Okay, so Ethan is dressing up as a toddler Frankenstein. He wants to seem scary, but I think it's cute," I laughed. "Emma is dressing up as a princess, but not just any princess; the princess of BTR."
"Oh my gosh," Jett laughed. "I'm almost scared to see this."
"She chose it, not us," I shrugged with a laugh. "But Evan's it the cutest."
"What is it?" Jett asked, looking at the reeses.
"He got a little cow suit. Imagine a two month old in a cow costume with the ears! Here I have a picture."
I pulled out my phone and pulled up the picture of Evan in his costume. It was so exciting. I showed it to Jett and he laughed.
"Evan is so cute," He smiled. "Send that to me."
"Will do," I chuckled.
"I'm assuming that you're dressing him up for Logan?" Jett asked.
"Yeah, Logan loves Evan in that costume, I love seeing him interact with the kids," I smiled fondly. "Now tell me, what about Erika and Alex?"
"Erika wanted to be Amelia Earhart, which is cute with the hat, and we're dressing Alex up as a pirate," Jett said.
"I like it," I smiled. "Send me any pictures you take."
We talked some more and walked around, finally settling on a medley of different candies. We rode back home, and I laughed at what I saw. I walked inside to find Ethan in just his underwear, riding on Logan's back and Sydney chasing him around the living room.
"Uhhh," I laughed at the scene.
Logan stopped when he saw me and immediately laughed, Ethan joining in. I quickly took out my phone and snapped a picture. Gosh, I hope this trial went well because I would miss things like that.
"Alright buddy, time to get ready," Logan said.
He sat down on the couch and Ethan hopped off of his back.
"Papi, what candy?" Ethan asked.
"I got some of everything," I said. "Don't worry, I'll save you some. Where is Emma?"
"James is helping her," Logan chuckled. "He wanted to make sure her princess costume had an accurate portrayal of BTR…aka him."
I laughed. That was James for you. We walked into the kitchen with Ethan and Sydney on our trails. Logan grabbed a bowl and wasted no time in dumping the candy into it.
"Can you check on Evan while I get Ethan ready?" Logan asked.
I nodded before running upstairs to his room. I stood at his crib and he was just waking up. I picked him up and cradled him to my chest before going to his drawer and pulling out his costume. I made sure his diaper was okay before changing him into his costume, smiling as I put the ears on top and taking a quick picture before sending it to Jett.
I picked him up again before walking downstairs where Ethan was fully dressed in his costume…his costume was cute too. Every costume is cute when you're under school age level.
"I love this," Logan smiled, taking Evan from my arms and kissing his cheek.
Logan set him down next to Ethan and Ethan put his arm around him; That, I had to get a picture of.
"A picture of my boys," I smiled as I took the picture, sending it to everyone this time.
At that time, Emma walked in with James, and I laughed at her costume. She had the pink dress, but it had James' face all over it and it said 'he's my favorite'.
"I thought I was your favorite," Logan pouted.
"All of you my favorite!" She smiled.
We all laughed.
"Really James? Trying to steal my daughter?" I laughed.
"Well, Logan gave me the freedom to help her with her costume," James chuckled.
I shook my head. All three kids got together and I snapped another picture.
"Okay, it's starting to get a little late, so I'll take the kids out now," I said.
"Alright," Logan smiled, picking up Evan. "Be safe."
He kissed me.
"I will, be nice to the kids," I warned.
"I always am," I laughed.
Ethan and Emma got up to follow me and we set out to get some candy.
"Okay, where do you want to go first?" I asked them.
"Uncle Kenny!" Ethan spoke up.
I laughed before grabbing their hands and walking next door to Kendall. I knocked on the door and the kids yelled trick or treat. Kendall opened the door with a bowl of candy and Adam in his other arm. He smiled when he saw us.
"Now, what are you two supposed to be?"
"I'm Frankenine," Ethan said (He couldn't say it all the way)
"I'm BTR's princess," Emma beamed.
"Oh really? I don't think I've seen you kids around here before," Kendall feigned confusion. "I don't know if I should give you candy."
"It's us Uncle Kenny!" They both yelled.
"Us? Ethan! Emma! I didn't even know that was you!" He feigned surprise.
Kendall was so good with kids, it made me laugh. Of course, he knew it was them.
"Do you like our costumes?" Ethan asked.
"I love them," He smiled genuinely before giving them some candy in their buckets.
"Thanks Ken," I chuckled.
"No prob," he winked.
We went to Trevor and Jett next before moving throughout the neighborhood. I had almost forgotten how much fun and how cool Halloween was. You got a bunch of candy for dressing up and walking around. It made me miss my childhood days, going with Kendall, James, and Logan.
We went to every house and once we did, we went back to our house. We walked inside and the kids dumped their candy onto the floor. They had a lot! I would have to steal from their stash.
"Holy crap! Did we ever get that much?" Logan asked me.
"Nope," I shook my head.
"Okay, now you two know you can't eat it all at once and we have to check it to make sure that it's all good," Logan said.
The kids groaned, but Logan handed them two pieces each and that made them quiet. We both checked the candy before putting it in the almost empty bowl of candy that we bought to give out. I then put the bowl on top of the island.
"There," I said. "Nice and safe."
"Can we have more?" Emma asked.
"One more," I nodded.
I handed them the bowl and they picked one more before I sat it back. After that piece of candy, they were both very tired, so Logan gave them each baths while I hung with Evan this time. Evan was falling asleep on my shoulder…my sleepy little cow.
Once all the kids were in bed, Logan joined me on the couch. The next thing I knew, there was a knock on the door. I got up and opened it to see Kendall and James with a bowl of candy. James had a smirk on his face and Kendall was just nodding.
"What did you do?" Logan smirked knowingly.
"We smuggled some candy," James said, walking in with Kendall.
"From the kids?" I asked, with a chuckle.
"…Not all of it," James avoided the question, causing us to laugh.
"Why is it here?" Logan asked.
"We're going to eat this candy and watch a movie like old times when we were teenagers," James said. "I miss those days."
"Okay, what about your kids?" I asked.
"Katie is at the house with them," Kendall said.
"…I'm down," I said.
"Me too," Logan agreed.
With that, I put Halloweentown into the DVD player (An old favorite) and turned out the lights, and the four of us sat on the couch with the bowl of candy in the middle. It made me smile, first watching my kids enjoy something that I enjoyed as a kid, and then reliving my childhood to an extent, we always had so much fun on Halloween and I'm happy that I still got to spend time with them. It was just like old times.
Just like it.
Cute costumes right? hehe, I had fun writing this and please check out the one-shot!
