Author's note: Just seen the new X-men movie and it was great. So after being inspired; I could not resist making a chapter of it. Hope you enjoy.
In a dark dystopia land of what is remained of civilization or even earth of that matter, the mutant hunting robots patrol the lands. Cities, homes, blocks and monuments no longer inhabit the lands. Each and every one of them serves as eyes and ears to both land and air. Search lights shine all over from corners to air.
Outside from that, humans, superhumans, mutants, creatures and special abilities individuals, all serve in containment camps working a large amount of hours with barely breaks or rest. Some are beyond exhaustion, others die and unfortunate demise. With a very close eye and sensors, the Sentinels keep a very watch on the prisoners.
It was dark day for heroes alike as nothing or even anything remained to protect or defend. Superhuman and humans were now at the age of extinction. It was world without wars, crime or even conflict. Most would consider it a perfect world, others would eventually be bored or not fond of it. But one could only know how far a perfect world would go.
Few prisoners were either not yet captured or out hiding. Sneaking outside the empty city, a few cloaked figures got away from the Sentinels. As quiet as a mouse, they used the quickest stealth as possible. Taking the time to look at the wanted poster of their long lost friends and allies, the other cloak figure instructed him to move on. She informed that "there will be a time for mourning but not right now" as they moved on. While one halted, the other cloak figure took out the street security cameras. However, it was not enough to disrupt their main programing. And the system was already compromised.
"Well, that should by us some time, but not enough." Deadpool informed.
"It is alright, this should be able to buy us enough time." Taking off her cloak, Rose concentrated her remaining energy.
"So what are you doing actually? Are we going to fight off the remaining Sentinels?" Deadpool inquired.
"Don't be ridiculous, they've already won, but not yet." Rose continued to focus her remaining energy. "I intent to make contact in the past, therefore this will be prevented."
Wolverine caught scent of Sentinels approaching from afar. "So you are gonna try to get the word out from our pass selves? Well better hurry lady, I think the guess are arriving early for the party."
"Leave this to us; X and I will hold them off as much as we could." Zero announced taking out his Beam Katana.
"Mutants and accomplishes, surrender at once!" The Sentinels called out.
"Surrender to this buckethead!" Zero and X fired their blaster cannons at the Sentinels.
Deadpool scratched his head. "Man; those Sentinels must really want to kill you."
"They want to kill all mutants and those who associate with them, you idiot!" Wolverine shot back. Even at his age, he was still annoyed by Deadpool's rambling and appearance. "Strider, we're gonna need your house pets."
Strider nodded. He whistled summoning his mechanical jaguars.
"You better get moving lady, I don't know how long they can hold those chrome domes off." Wolverine informed.
While the situation was still intense, Rose quiet her mind and surroundings and started chanting an ancient incantation. Deadpool and the remaining renegade mutants went to assist Strider and the two Maverick Hunters in battle. With their battle skills and physical powers, the remaining survivors cut down through the groups of Sentinel robots as much as they could.
Front back, side to side, they tore through the robots wires and cores. And with their limited power, there was only so much they could possibly handle. And even when torn down, the Sentinel robots only went back on their feet. And to their shock, the Sentinel started gaining new abilities. These new powers would include absorption, healing factor, master martial arts skills, Chi powers, and Adamantium claws.
Each different kind of Sentinel was starting to predict the remaining heroes every move. Each projectile that was launched was only thrown back at the Mavericks and mutants with stronger impact. And each strike of close combat was either countered or redirected at them. No longer was the Sentinel robots pushover to them. Now they were upgraded to whole to level as the robots were now receiving less hits then they normally do.
"Zero!" X called out, holding his broken friend in his arms.
While damaged, Zero moaned, "I think this might be the end of me X. These robots aren't the same."
"By order of Master Mold, Termination of targets is active!" The Sentinel robot exclaimed blasting his beam gauntlet.
Through the midst of the smoke, X leaped at the Sentinel with his fully charged buster cannon. "You're going to pay for that!" After he was on the Sentinel's heart, he unleashed a burst of beam energy that nearly depleted him. It was enough to take out a couple of Sentinel's, but not a whole lot.
As Sentinel went from behind, X turned around quickly to fire. But it was too late as X found his arm buster cut off. Before long, the Sentinel's had already separated him in half.
Even the advance ninja was starting to reach his limit and allies while fighting off the Sentinel robots. Breathing heavily, he was now taking more hits then he normally does not. Cuts, bruises and scrapes nearly covered his face. While trying to keep a Sentinel from regenerating, he quickly rushed to aid the X-Men, Blink.
With his quick skills and reflexes, Strider was fortunate to hack off one Sentinel robots head. Unfortunately, there was no time to take breather as the robots had kept increasing. Combining Blink's teleportation with Strider's vanishing skills, they were able to confuse the Sentinel's, thus using their own skills against them.
"That was a close call." Blink said.
Strider took out a Sentinel from behind Blink. "Yes, but we must not rest just yet."
"I just hope we are buying Rose enough time."
"Blink look out!" Strider cried out. With his speed and agility, he rushed to the bladed Sentinel. As they clashed blades, both Strider and Sentinel were on opposite side. Strider was sure victory was his, but felt a brutal cut on his body. The cut went straight through his lungs to his heart. "If I must fall, then it will be with honor. And you Sentinels have no honor." Strider said activating his explosive belt as a last resort.
One by one the X-Men were falling, each one either outmatched of even outsmarted by the Sentinel robots. The mutant Hellion and Polaris and suffered serious injury and exhaustion from the Sentinels ongoing assault. With every breath, they were ready to give out at any given moment.
And even Deadpool with his powerful healing factor was losing his edge. Strong as he was, he was no way unstoppable. Before he could teleport for silent strike, the Sentinel already had him pinned down. With both arms grabbed, they preformed a "wishbone" on him. Before he could have chance to heal a tranquilizer dart was shot, therefore halting his healing factor.
As Deadpool did not feel himself getting any better, he said his last words. "Make sure I'm in future chapters, you damn stupid author. Oh; and never speak of this."
As the Sentinels broke through their remaining hideout, Wolverine wasted no time pulling out his claws and charging at the Sentinels was maximum rage.
"Please stop the attack." Rose screamed from her lungs as the connection was casted. The exact words echoed through the time stream as Wolverine and Rose was blasted away. A light surrounded the serene fortune teller. Within moments, a large number of past events started to reminisce.
"Stop the assassination...!" Future Rose voiced echoed through the present Rose as she was foretelling a customer's future. The visual that occurred had interrupted her session. The visual was enough to freeze her, let alone shake her.
"Um excuse me, but weren't you predicting my future?" The customer asked.
Trying to get her head back to reality, Rose shook her head. "My apologies; but I must close up for tonight. Please come back another time." Rose said giving the customer's his money back.
As she secluded herself in her chambers, she kept on replaying the words in her head. As usual, she was gravely concerned about this future message that was sent directly to her. As she drew the "fool" card, it gave off a negative aura. It was already a sign of great misfortunate.
"Stop the assassination; what does this all mean?" Rose thought. "Those were the last words before I died."
Meanwhile at the X-Mansion, Professor Xavier had also received the same message from future Rose's last dying words. The visuals were too horrifying even for powerful psychic such as himself. All those years he's worked towards humans and mutants living together, he did not want this battle to go to waste.
"This future is condemned to darkness. And grave misfortunate is set to arise, but how." The Professor said to himself.
Everyone from X-Men to Avengers to other allies were now either buried or even enslaved. It was his greatest nightmare realized. Which means it were not just the X-Men but everyone else affected as well. A future where advance Sentinels rule and humans are prisoners. After that version, he could barely sleep. No matter what, this future could not come to past.
In the meantime, inside an underground hideout a secret meeting was being held. Through the dim light and rusty background, the Brotherhood mutants were called to order.
"And so my brothers, you have your assignments. So carry it with pride and do not fail. This will be the day we finally end this mutant persecution upon our kind." Magneto had announced. "This will be the day of mutant reckoning!" Magneto announced as the Brotherhood mutants cheered. With their fist high in the air, they shouted "Magneto" over and over again. And already the plan was in motion. Fate only could tell what will arise for this terrible outcome.
To be continued…
