Chapter XXXV: Soul of the Duelist Part 1 – Galaxy Zero

Opening Theme Song Plays – 99 Percent –

Messiah and Kenshin continue to move further into the building. "The main computer should be down this way. With it we can generate a portal to the other world and download the back up into your CPU."

"Perfect. And that Fudou Yusei is nowhere to be seen too."

"Stop it, Messiah!" Speak of the devil, Yusei, Jack, Aki and Julia stand in their way.

"Kenshin, stall." Messiah moves forward into the building, blowing a hole open with his power.

Kenshin activates his duel disk. "None of you will be moving past here." He summons the Gem-Knight Crystal, which fires several crystal shards at them. Julia brings out a Watt monster, which blocks the shards.

"Go ahead. I have him," Julia tells Yusei and the others.

"Thanks for the help."

"Julia, why are you getting in the way? Don't you hate Yusei too?"

"Kenshin, you and I are nothing but data. Anything we feel for Yusei was programmed. It does not entail we truly hate him. If anything, we're only following what Messiah wants of us." Julia sighs. "Does it not vex you? Having to be brought back as the memory of a corpse that does not yet exist, just to be used as a tool of vengeance?"

"What do you care? You're just a double agent; your life means no more than mine."

"Exactly. The seeds to victory have already been planted. I shall set you free now. Watt Hydra!" She summons her monster, which flies in at the Gem-Knight.

"Crystal!" Crystal fires a barrage of missiles, which fly past the hydra and strike Julia. The hydra instead also bites down on Kenshin. Both monsters disappear, as their data becomes disparaged and distorted. "Julia..."

"It's like you said; our lives don't matter. This is where our story comes to an end." She watches as Kenshin disappears, before she herself joins him. "Madas, I'm leaving Demise to you."

Messiah rushes through the halls, using his power to push aside anyone and everyone in his way. He then comes to the main room, where he sees the Momentum generator spinning. "Good. Now to take over and establish the true future." He presses buttons, causing Momentum to spin faster. He then presses his finger into a drive port.

Deep within the darkness of Yami, a Momentum Reactor activates. Green light shines as a ray of energy fires upward, in a way not unlike before.

In the facility, a wormhole opens up. "Good." Messiah's body brims with the energy of Momentum. "Yes! It's working!"

But as he charges himself, his landscape changes. "What's going on? I didn't step through yet!" He looks around, before entering his mind to where his CPU is situated.

"About time it worked." Messiah transforms into a green skull of energy, turning around quickly to see Madas standing tall.

"You?!"

"How's it going? I'm here to get in your way and take back my body." Madas states with a grin.

"Please! What can someone like you do to my power?!" Tiny stars appear before Madas, taking the form of the incredible Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. "That damn dragon again!"

Beside it, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon forms. The presence of it causes the dragon of light to take on a dark and blue form, and the number 62 appears on its body. "When you used Momentum to power yourself that gave me a chance to confront you. I have a strong connection to this dragon."

"That means so little to me. But if you're so determined to get in my way then I'll silence you forever." A duel field forms before Messiah and Madas, and cards forged through their data appears on it. "I believe this is how you handle a nuisance correct?"

"Correction, this is how a nuisance is handled!" Madas says, trying to sound smart.

"Duel!"

Messiah 8000

Madas: 8000

Madas stares at Messiah as he draws his five cards. He's a strong character; his Machines are capable of fighting against Synchro and Xyz monsters. But with Tachyon Dragon I can drop his monsters to nothing.

"I begin the duel; draw!" Messiah has his six cards float before him. "I summon Flare Core!" This time, a brand new monster appears on the table, reminiscent of the Beast series.

Flare Core: 0/0 (1)

"I will set two cards facedown, and activate Treasure Cards of Lamentation." His spell appears on the field. "This continuous spell will allow me to draw one card when I battle a monster you control and it is not destroyed by battle. I then play Supply Unit." A second spell appears. "This allows me to draw whenever a monster I control is destroyed once per turn. Turn end."

Messiah: 8000 (1)

That card must summon a different one. Better hit it hard. "Draw!" Madas picks a card from his deck. "Let's go, Summoner Monk!" His monster is a blue faced monk wielding several talisman.

Summoner Monk: 800/1600 (4)

"When he's summoned I can switch him to defense mode. I can then discard one spell card, and special summon one monster from my deck!" Accompanying his monk is the white Galaxy Wizard.

Wizard: 0/1800 (4)

"Two level four monsters?"

"I overlay my two level four monsters, and construct the Overlay Network!" His two monsters merge together into one. "Xyz Summon! Descend from the wind, Skyblaster Musketeer Castel!" His monster appears to be a birdman wielding a musket.

Castel: 2000/1500 (4)

"Trap card open; Torrential Tribute!" A huge flood waves away the monsters on the field.

"Damn! I just wasted my turn."

"The chain begins; Supply Unit will allow me to draw, and then Flare Core activates." Five cards from his deck fly out and land on the field. "From my hand or deck, one Kikoujuu Flaael Infinity, Flaael Attack, Flaael Top, Flaael Guard, and Flaael Carrier can be special summoned!" In order his five cards appear: Flaael Infinity is a sphere like the other Infinity cards, Attack is a fighter jet, Top is a blackhawk helicopter, Guard is a commercial airplane, and Carrier is a turbo prop aircraft.

Flaael Infinity: 0/0 (1)

Attack: 1500/600 (1)

Top: 700/700 (1)

Guard: 200/1500 (1)

Carrier: 600/400 (1)

"Kikoujuu Gattai – Kikoujuu Flaael Infinity!" His machines form together, taking the appearance of a sparkling white dragon. Madas sees it, and recognizes its form.

Flaael Infinity: 3000/2700 (1)

"Wait, isn't that Stardust Dragon?" Madas says when he sees it.

"This is the remains of the data I received from Vladimir. This extra form of that Yusei's Stardust Dragon is perfect for ending the world. Those who take to the skies always have the advantage."

"Turn end."

Messiah draws. "I use Flaael Infinity's effect!" Messiah's life drops down to 7000. "By paying one thousand lifepoints I can declare one card name. Should that card be in your Extra Deck, Flaael can absorb it."

"What?!" So then, his card can bypass everything on his field and go straight for his monsters while they're waiting?!

"Vladimir must have realized that my strategy would have to evolve beyond sealing Synchro. And this is the result of his research! And now for your card... Numbers 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!" The dragon releases energy whips, which stretch out and impales his deck. Out from it pops his dragon, which becomes infused inside of Infinity.

Messiah laughs triumphantly. "Flaael Infinity raises its attack power by 3000 because of Tachyon Dragon's attack."

Flaael Infinity: 6000

The dragon robot glares down at Madas, his cannons aimed at him. "Battle! Flaael Infinity will destroy you!" The machine fires down, blasting Madas with a psuedo Shooting Sonic.

Madas: 2000

"Turn end." Madas draws at his declaration. "What's the matter boy? Can barely move after tasting my power?"

"I discard one Light monster from my hand to special summon Galaxy Soldier!" His monster appears to the field, a galactic mechanical knight.

Soldier: 2000/0 (5)

"When this effect is activated I can add one Galaxy monster to my hand." He picks out Galaxy Knight.

'Why didn't he choose Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon?'

"I normal summon Photon Satellite." A satellite appears on the field next to the soldier.

Satellite: 0/0 (1)

"Galaxy Satellite's effect activates; by targeting one monster I control that has Photon in its name their levels become a combination of them," says Madas before Photon Satellite hits his soldier with a ray.

Satellite: (6)

Soldier: (6)

"I overlay my two level 6 monsters, constructing the Overlay Network!" His two monsters form into a void, which explodes to reveal a red beast shining like a photon. "Rank 6 – Photon Bounzer!"

Photon Bounzer: 2700/2000 -6-

"Battle! Photon Bounzer, attack Flaael Top!" Bounzer charges at Top.

"Flaael Guard, activate your effect! It will take your monster's attack in place of its own!"

"Photon Bounzer has an effect of its own!" Bounzer devours a unit. "By using one Overlay Unit when my opponent uses a monster effect, I negate it and deal 1000 points of damage to him." A wind blows, knocking Messiah's head back a bit.

Messiah: 7000

Photon Bounzer then rushes in and slaughters Top, dealing massive damage to Messiah.

Messiah: 5000

Flaael Infinity: 5300

"I set one card facedown and end my turn."

Messiah stares down at his headless robot even as he draws. "I'm going to make you pay for what you did to Flaael. I attack with Flaael Infinity!" The machine dragon gathers energy in its chest before firing again.

"I discard Honest from my hand, and his attack power raises equivalent to your monster's!" Bounzer gains power in the form of angel wings, before firing a beam that pierces through and destroys Flaael Infinity completely.

Messiah: 2300

"No more of that useless dragon," Madas gloats.

Messiah pixilates in and out, before turning huge. "HOW DARE YOU!"

"Just shut up and end your turn." A card falls onto the field. "What's that?"

"I play Machine Imperial Reconstruction. This card can only be activated when a Machine Emperor or Beast is destroyed by battle this turn and I have no faceup cards on the field. This banishes all cards in my graveyard and special summons from my deck, 1 Kikoushinki P.I.!"

"The what?!" He looks at his field, seeing a giant bird mecha appear from out of nowhere. Its appearance may resemble a phoenix, almost similar to Ra, but it has pieces and parts of its body reminiscent of the Machine Beast trio. It ravels its wings to shape a circular figure.

P.I.: 3000/3000 (11)

"I set two cards facedown. Turn end."

"Draw!" Madas looks at his options. Knowing that monster must have some anti-Synchro strategy, he won't let his guard down. That monster may have something to do with Xyz monsters too. 'Then, I'll use something new too. The strongest monster I gained with this power!'

"I normal summon Galaxy Knight!" One of his ace warriors appear to the field.

Galaxy Knight: 2800/2000 (8)

"Galaxy Knight can be summoned while I control a Photon or Galaxy monster without a tribute. His attack drops by 1000 afterwards, and I special summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from my graveyard."

"What?!" A portal opens up underneath the knight, and his ace dragon flies up from the grave. It howls as light pours onto its body.

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: 3000/2000 (8)

"I use P.I's monster effect; when my opponent special summons a monster P.I gains attack equal to that monster's." It releases the capture lights to control Galaxy-Eyes.

"Photon Bounzer's effect activate; I negate your monster effect and deal 1000 points of damage!" The power of Photon Bounzer activates, but the god bird machine continues with its effect. "What?"

"As long as he's face up cards I control cannot have their effects negated." Messiah laughs at the fruitless actions Photon Bounzer made.

P.I.: 6000

"Well, that doesn't matter. It's time I showed you the new power I received from all the Momentum you've been gathering. I overlay my two level 8 monsters!" His two monsters form together in a bright light, as a sword lands on the field.

"Galactic Ultimate Dragon, Numbers 62; in the darkness and light of the wandering universe, the sleeping dragon who sleeps in the interstice, will use its power to open and create the doors of truth! Xyz Summon!" The sword transforms, giving light to hundreds of galaxies in one form. The being appears, revealed as a light blue and black dragon. It resembles Galaxy-Eyes, if only slightly more advanced. "Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon!"

Prime Photon: 4000/4000 -8-

"Another one?!"

"This power was gifted to me; when Julia gave me the Galaxy Deck, she also gave me the spirit of the galactic dragon himself. When I was empowered by Momentum that also gave power to Galaxy-Eyes, allowing me to access his evolutions. Prime Dragon is the true form of Photon Dragon, and with it, I will put an end to you!"

"What can your monster do with only 4000 attack points? Besides, my Kikoushin is vastly stronger than your monster now that it has been summoned!" P.I. uses its power to capture a bit of Prime Photon's power.

P.I.: 10000

"I play Mini-Guts! I'll send Photon Bounzer to the graveyard, and P.I. will have its attack drop to zero." The machine god bird shrieks as its power drops to zero.

"Trap card open; Foolish Revival! I will revive Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon." The Xyz dragon, its mouth stripped of its fangs, rises up in a crouching position. "P.I.'s attack power rises."

P.I.: 3000

"Battle. Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon, attack pi!" The dragon forms lights around them in the form of balls.

"Enchanted Javelin activate!" A javelin appears before him. "My life increases by your attacking monster's attack power."

Messiah: 6300

"Prime Photon's effect activates; by using one Overlay Unit, it has the power to increase its attack power by 200 times the number of Xyz monsters on the field. Prime Photon and Tachyon Dragon are Xyz monsters, so he gains 3200 attack points!"

Prime Photon: 7200

"7200?!"

"Let's go, Prime Photon Dragon! Eternity Photon Stream!" All the lights fire at the bird machine, before getting pierced through by the dragon's mouth stream. The Kikoushin explodes.

Messiah: 2100

"But, P.I. can special summon itself when it gets destroyed, and I deal 2000 points of damage each time I do!" P.I. howls as it prepares to fire.

"Not this time." Light gathers from the bird's body.

"What? What is this?"

"When a monster is destroyed while afflicted by Mini-Guts, you take damage equal to that monster's attack power!"

"WHAT?!" Messiah's machine explodes, and he falls along with it. His data becomes disparaged and distorted. "This can't be! My comeback... Devastated!"

"No one cares about you anymore Messiah. Go away." As Messiah vanishes, his data falls into a single card. P.I. disappears along with all of the Duel Monster cards Messiah created.

The landscape changes, as Madas' mind returns to him. "Finally. Now to save the others."

Madas opens his eyes in the real world, as the portal to the other world is built. He steps through with a nod. "Let's go." Prime Photon appears by his side, guiding him into the other world.

...

Demise leans on his arm looking at Gorz and Malicious. Both of them sweat staring at their king. "Like I said, you're not good enough to question my judgment. The plan will continue as scheduled, as soon as we capture Takeshi Ishihara."

"I guess the King of Armageddon hasn't lost his touch." Malicious mumbles.

"Yeah. Ruin's Sephirot of Famine servants work for her, but only her. I will stick with the kings." He holds up a deck, which disperses into flames and fly up into the skies. He then stands up from his throne, walking away. "I'll be looking for my steed. Don't do anything stupid in my absence."

Elsewhere...

In the skies, several angel and dragon monsters can be seen climbing up the clouds. Carried by the Duel Spirits are the Virus Busters and friends. Takeshi looks back at the others, his heart still uneasy about the loss of one of their own.

"Takeshi, what's the plan when we land? What if that last guy with Amne is still in charge?" asks Chase.

"We'll deal with that when we reach that road," he replies as they break through to the upper side. There the group sees a paradise up in the clouds, the Sanctuary in the Sky. Alexianna reaches out to her angels, who land on the now matter filled clouds.

The dragons land too, before all the spirits disappear. Jesse touches the fluffy cloud below them. "So this is what it feels like to be on cloud nine?"

"Look!" Anna says, pointing to the silver and yellow gates just ahead. "That must be the entrance.

Tyson storms forward, with the others following. "Tyson, wait!"

They continue until reaching the gate, where angels drop down before them. Takeshi declares, "Grant us passage without trouble."

"And why should we listen to you?" asks the Shining Angel. "Domestication within this sacred dominion requires a fine."

"We're not here to stay; as soon as we find the Barrier Statue we'll be on our way," he responds, causing the angel to look at him seriously.

"Then, you're those humans..." Shining Angel snaps his fingers, and the gates open up. "Enter. Councilman Atum has been waiting for your arrival."

When this card is destroyed: you can banish one card from your graveyard; special summon this card and, if you do, deal 2000 damage to your opponent for every monster you currently control.

Machine Imperial Reconstruction

Effect: This card can only be activated while you control no face up cards, and all the monsters in your graveyard are Machine type; banish all cards in your graveyard and special summon one Kikoushin Monster from your hand or deck, ignoring summoning conditions.
