"Leave?" Kyra asked. "Boromir, I..."
"Kya", Boromir started. "I love you. You know that."
"Yes I do", she said. "I love you too."
"This is the only way we can be together", he said. "I'm ready. I want to wed you so we can raise our child."
"But, we need to stay", Kyra said. "Your father and brother need you."
"My father does not need me. If he wants an heir to the steward throne, he has Faramir."
"Faramir needs you too", she argued. "You know your father hates him. What will he do with you gone? Your father could beat him to death."
"My father wouldn't do that", Boromir said. "He would never kill his own son. Kyra, you want to be with me, do you not?"
"Yes, of course I do."
"Then come with me. Leave this place. You and I will be together. I could hunt food for us. I will take care of us."
Boromir wrapped his arms around Kyra as she sighed. She didn't know what to do. If they left, everything would go wrong. If they stayed, there was a good chance Denethor would find out about them and punish them severely.
"I choose…" Kyra said.
"Yes?" boromir asked.
"I choose…to go with you", she answered. "I will be your wife and carry your child."
Boromir looked at her and gently kissed her lips.
"Do you want this?" he asked. "Will it be something you may regret?"
Kyra looked at him and tried to smile.
"I'll try not to let it bother me."
She leaned in and pressed her lips against his. Bormir pulled her close as they kissed. He smiled in the kiss. He was going to take her far away and wed her at last. He could build them a home and take care of her and the baby.
"Come", Boromir said. "Get the things you need and we'll leave."
Kyra picked up a woolen bag and packed some clothes and food. Boromir took her hand and led her to the stables where his horse was waiting. He put the saddle onto the horse, letting Kyra tie their bags to the saddle.
"Will we ever come back?" Kyra asked.
"Maybe someday", Boromir said. "But right now you're more important than coming back."
He lifted her up onto the horse and got up behind her.
"Where will we go?" she asked.
"I was thinking the woods of Ithilien", he answered. "There will be plenty of animals to hunt there and we will be able to make a home."
"Ithilien? But that's a day's journey."
"Yes, but we'll be safe there."
Boromir took the reins guiding his horse out of the stable. They headed east toward Ithilien.
