Chapter
Interlude…
Drums roll as lights shine onto a stage. The black curtains roll back to reveal four chairs all angled towards the audience with microphones in the seat.
A voice sounded, "Now…please give a big welcome to Jerry Cipher…"
Jerry entered. Contrary to his character clothing, the actor was wearing a black leather jacket, worn jeans and dress shoes. He flashed a bright smile before giving a wink into the crowd, which cheered loudly.
"…Damian Diviner…"
He entered, wearing a red plaid, button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a loose black tie. Light brown dress pants went down to brown dress shoes that shined from the lights above, Damian smiled before waving his arm eagerly at the crowd.
"Hello!" he shouted.
As he took his seat, the announcer continued, …Will Deregan…"
Will entered with a small wave at the crowd, wearing a standard suit with tails. He calmly sat down in his chair and crossed his legs.
"and Conner Ward!"
Conner entered wearing a Captain America T-Shirt and a blue tuxedo over it, blue jeans were tucked into black boots. He gave a wink and finger gun before plopping into his chair.
"Now then…"
The announcer appeared, with shaggy brown hair, square glasses that framed his face, blue and black button down shirt with the sleeves pulled up the forearm and dark jeans.
"Let's start with a question for all of you. How exactly did you come to these roles?" the announcer asked.
The four glanced at each other.
"Not it!" Will shouted.
"Nope!" Conner shouted.
Damian and Jerry were staring at each other.
"Only one way to solve this," Damian said before lifting up a fist.
Jerry nodded.
"Rock Paper Scissors SHOOT!"
Damian threw a rock while Jerry had a paper.
"DANG IT!" Damian shouted.
Jerry did a fist pump before bringing the microphone to his mouth, "Ah sweet victory. Anyway, I guess it started when I was sitting at a café with one of my friends, you guys known him as Maxwell Castell, in the other project of StorSpeaker. So we heard about the jobs but I was just being lazy, kinda doing other stuff. But then Maxie boy challenged me to a bet, if I lost, I would have to do the job, if I won then Max would go do the other job."
The announcer frowned, "So what was the bet and who won?"
Jerry smiled, "We both played Rock Paper Scissors and it was a tie…three times. So we both agreed on auditioning for the parts."
The announcer nodded, "Interesting. How did that go?"
Jerry shifted, "Well…first thing you need to understand is that there are like tons of people trying to get this role. We started filming…a few months after Volume One I think?"
"Yeah. Few months after Volume One ended," Damian said, "They had just started the Production Diaries."
"Yeah," Jerry nodded. "So there was a sizable amount of people there, all of us trying to get this role."
"That sounds interesting," the announcer said.
Jerry nodded, "So I was just watching people go by and when I showed up I read a few lines before leaving. Then I get a phone call and the rest is history."
"My turn?" Damian asked, turning to Conner and Will.
"Go for it," Conner said.
"Yay!" Damian cheered. "So I got it through a contest. Sort of. See, people were just starting to talk about RWBY in my drama class-"
Jerry snorted, "Still can't believe you did a drama class."
"Shut up," Damian replied. "Anyway, the contest was to create your own character and submit a description of the clothing and his or her personality."
"So you won!" the announcer stated. "Well-"
"He lost," Will said. "I won."
Damian slowly turned his head towards Will with a deadpan look, "Yes. He won. However, Mr. Stor enjoyed my character and quickly inducted me into the project."
The announcer turned to Will, "And you originally sent a character modeled after your character?"
Will shook his head, "No. Originally he was supposed to be a love interest for Ruby."
"Ruby Rose?" the announcer asked in surprise.
"WEAPON GEEKS!" a girl shouted.
"RED RIDING HOOD!" another shouted.
Will chuckled and waited for the group to calm down, "Yeah, the original personality was supposed to be a bit darker. Like, he was a mercenary who seen tons of death and didn't want to be involved with an upcoming battle, he was unintentionally a child idol for Ruby who helped him back to his feet. His voice was actually much deeper and faint accent, like Rumpelstiltskin who is played by Robert Carlyle."
Will cleared his throat before hunching his head slightly and sneering, "Are you afraid of the Big Bad Wolf…RARGH!"
The announcer leaned back in surprise before clapping his hands along with the crowd, "Well done. That was certainly…scary."
"That was the intention," Will said, "However I still enjoyed what Stor did with us. We bantered quite a bit about Will."
"Often leading to sleepless nights together," Jerry added with a smile.
"Last time Jerry, I'm not gay."
Jerry held up his hands, "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
Conner raised his microphone, "Are you guys done yet?"
"Of course," Jerry said, "Go ahead your majesty."
Conner sighed, "I sort of lucked out. I went through the same audition process as Jerry, however when I got a call back I found out I was tied with someone else and that we needed to reenact a scene from pop culture. I decided on using the dialogue from Epsilon in the last episode of Season 10 of Red vs Blue as well as Season 13. It was really intense while I ran through those lines, I was first yelling and screaming in anger at Stor, pretending he was the Director of Project Freelancer before switching to the heartbreaking monologue at the last episode of Season 13. Near the end I was pretty sure I teared up. Next thing I know; I've got the part."
"Congratulations!" the announcer said, "Now we have a few questions for you all. Starting with Jerry."
Jerry nodded, "Go ahead."
"How is it that you managed to capture the childlike innocence that your character possesses?"
Jerry blinked before slowly looking at Damian, who looked back and winked at the latter.
"Damian and Will were incredible geeks," Jerry said, "Huge fanboys. So I kind of used their energy to become Jerry."
"Right," the announcer flicked through his cards, "Sorry I don't have that many for the rest of you."
"Aww…" Damian groaned.
But I do have group questions."
"Alright!" Conner exclaimed.
"What is your favorite scenes? Whether screened or deleted."
"Can I?" Conner asked.
At the other three's approval, Conner spoke, "I would definitely say it would be after Yang and I leapt off the building. When we started this, originally after we landed Yang would be hurt and have to fight against Juno Basil in katana-to-fist and she would nearly lose before I managed to show that Mickey was alive. While it was a great scene, we had to shoot it like ten times. We would swing down and skid across the concrete before getting back up and doing it all over again, it just hurt like heck until finally Stor said "Cut!" and asked if we were ok. We just painfully shook our heads and found a place to lay down."
"I remember that," Will said, "You looked like crap when you went into your trailer."
"Yang and I were totally out of it for the next few days," Conner said. "Like the next scene we did was when we were on the Bullhead after saving Jerry. I was surprised that Yang was still awake."
The announcer blinked, "So when your character asleep, you were really asleep?"
Conner nodded.
"What about you Mr. Deregan?"
Will smiled, "Most definitely the scene with me killing all the White Fang."
"Really?" the announcer asked.
"What? I liked filming action scenes, that was my only moment of fun before the final scene with all four of us. I was just covered with fake blood like in some slasher movie, blood and arms flying, chainsaws and swords, it was a thing of beauty."
"Dude you're a freaking psychopath!" Conner said with a smile.
"Correction! I am just really creative when I kill people," Will replied.
The group on stage chuckled at the comments.
"What about you Damian?" the announcer asked.
"Most definitely the scene with Weiss and my character dancing," Damian said. "You see, there was a deleted scene where Weiss and I go into the ballroom and dance together in front of everyone. At the end we kiss each other's cheek's and that would be the start of the relationship. But I felt that it would be too soon for their relationship to develop, due to Weiss being an heiress and Damian for…reasons."
"Reasons?" the announcer asked curiously, "Do tell."
"Can't," Damian said. "Not allowed."
"Alright then," the announcer said, "Finally you Jerry."
Jerry smiled, "You see, in the original script, Ruby and I were supposed to run into Penny before Sun and she reveal about the Dust Gem being presented at Juniors nightclub. Then we would find Sun and get his help in stealing it. During that scene, Ruby and I were supposed to dance in order to create a distraction for Sun to steal the Dust Gem. There would be another almost-kiss before Cinder and the others stormed in."
"Why didn't the director keep it in?" the announcer asked.
"To difficult to manage," Jerry said. "Stor kept tearing his hair out before deciding on the museum and no Penny."
"Alright," the announcer said, flicking to another card, "Last question. Will there be a sequel?"
"Oh yeah," Damian said.
Will smiled, "Most definitely."
"We're all kinda excited about it," Conner said with a grin.
Jerry tapped his mic, "You see, there have been opportunities presented to Stor. Plenty of content and ideas, however Stor doesn't want to do too many sequels since he has other projects he's working on. He is debating on what to do right now; we know some but we aren't allowed to talk about it."
The announcer nodded, "So there is a confirmed sequel, but the plot is still being smoothed out?"
"Yup," Jerry said.
"That's great news," the announcer said. "Thank you all very much for coming out!"
"No problem!" Jerry replied.
Damian smiled, "Great to be here!"
"Ditto!" Will exclaimed.
"We'll see you next time," Conner said.
"Oh one last thing!"
The announcer turned to the audience, "If anyone has any questions for the cast. Anything at all, by all means send in a message to them by using the review button near the bottom of their series, then type in your question. See you next time everyone!"
