Apparently, it was night time when they found me. I'd fallen asleep in the bathroom and the janitor was cleaning the stalls. He found me knocked out and bruised and my mom was alerted.
School had been over for five hours by then and mom had sent out police cars and everything to find me.
"Bella!" she gasped, running towards me. She was crying, hugging me close to her and apologizing a billion times. "I'm so sorry. God, I'm so sorry, Bella."
And despite how mad I was at her for bringing me here, I hugged her back because I really needed one of those right now. And then I cried into her shirt and pleaded her to take me back home.
…
After telling the principal and mom and Phil what happened in the bathroom, I also had to tell the police what happened. The triplets were going to get in trouble for harassment and assault and other stuff like that. Their parents were insanely rich and tried to get them out of the mess, but the damage was already done. We even went to court, which was a nerve-racking experience for me. It didn't take long for it to all end, but I'm upset it had started to begin with.
Mom said she would send me to another school in Jacksonville, but dad wasn't having it. He actually flew to Florida, and him and mom argued back and forth. I knew it felt weird, but I actually liked that, because for the first time since I'd arrived in Jacksonville, something I was familiar with happened. Mom wanted to take him to court, but then dad brought up my well-being and how I'd suffered enough already. Mom then looked at me, looked at all my cuts and bruises and the cast on my arm. She looked at my wearied expression and the dried tears on my cheeks. She looked at it all before breaking down and crying and saying how she didn't want to lose her baby. I gave her a hug and told her that she wouldn't lose me, but I needed to go with dad.
"Okay," she whispered. I hugged her as tight as I could with my injuries and dad and I left the next day. I even said goodbye to Phil, who promised to take care of my mom. I liked him a lot more after that.
