I have been debating with myself whether I can be bothered to post anything tonight lol but in the end I decided it was about time I updated this story. I know I keep apologising about neglecting this story and I can only do that again this time, I am spending so much time concentrating on Drowning as I have so many ideas for that but I promise I haven't forgotten about this one and I will finish it, in fact there isn't much more left of this, the end is near.

Chapter Thirty Six

One Week Later

Naomi

As soon as I had woken up this morning I felt the nerves running out of control in the pit of my stomach, I was down in the kitchen scrubbing the cups and plates in the sink from dinner last night waiting for Katie to turn up. Emily came bouncing down the stairs followed by Luke, I could hear the chatter in the lounge "Mummy Emily when is Auntie Katie coming to pick me up?"

I know she will have looked up at the clock "In about 15 minutes so make sure you are all ready."

He jumped up and down "I am ready Mummy Emily."

I could tell she was smiling as she spoke "Well you go and watch out of the window for her then whilst I go and talk to Mummy Naomi."

I turned around to watch the interaction between the two and couldn't help but smile when Luke gave Emily a hug "Where is Mummy Naomi taking you today?"

Emily smiled "I don't know she says she is going to surprise me so won't tell me."

He smiled "I like surprises so I think you will too Mummy Emily."

She kissed his cheek before she walked into the kitchen and wrapped her arms around me from behind; she placed a soft kiss on my shoulder "So are you going to tell me where we are going today?"

I shook my head "It's a surprise so the answer will be no."

She groaned behind me "Spoil sport."

I turned in her arms and kissed her softly "You will like it."

Suddenly Luke started shouting "Mummy Emily, Mummy Naomi Auntie Katie is here."

Emily pulled away from me and glanced at the clock on the kitchen wall "Bloody hell Katie is actually early for a change."

We both wandered into the lounge as Katie walked in "Where is my favourite little nephew then?"

Luke jumped up and down in front of her "I'm here Auntie Katie, I'm here. I have been watching out for you."

She gave him a big hug "Well come on then little man grab your stuff and we will leave Mummy Emily and Mummy Naomi to it."

As Luke walked down the garden path with Katie we followed giving him a hug and a kiss before he climbed into the back of the car. Katie closed the door once he was in and turned round smiling "Have fun today girls."

I could see Emily was a little surprised when Katie smiled knowingly; she turned to Katie "Do you know what she is planning today?"

Katie looked at me before looking back at Emily "Yeah but I am not telling you either, just go and enjoy yourself."

I glared at Katie but knew it wasn't worth trying to get any information out of her, I turned around to notice Naomi was walking back towards the house as Katie quickly ran round to the driver's seat of the car and jumped in quickly driving off probably before I got chance to ask any more questions. I was watching out the window as Emily resigned herself to just having to find out when I was ready to tell me and wandered back up the house as I came out carrying the bags with the bits we would need for today "I'm just putting these in the car gorgeous and then we will be ready to go."

She smiled "Ok I will just be a minute."

I returned her smile as I finished loading the car, I had borrowed it from my mum as I knew Katie would need hers and we couldn't manage with Emily's moped. I had today planned right down to the last detail; everything just had to be perfect. I walked back to the front door and shouted "Em are you ready to go?"

She bounced down the stairs with a fresh coat of lipstick on, jeans that clung to her body and a sexy vest top "Wow, you look hot."

She smiled before kissing me softly "Well I thought I better make an effort as you have put the effort in to organise this."

I returned her kiss before taking her hand and leading her to the car using my other hand to open the door "Your carriage awaits my love."

She kissed the back of my hand "Why thank you."

A while later we were at our destination, Emily leaned over and kissed my cheek "You are just too cute, this is where we had our first date."

I turned to her and stroked her cheek "I know, I would never forget that. I just hope that today makes this place even more special to us."

She smiled "It is already special."

I returned her smile "I know but just wait and see." I paused as she kissed me softly "Come on shall we go for a paddle and you don't have to wait for me to hobble down this time."

She smiled "I would wait for you forever if I had to."

I kissed her softly "You are just too sweet sometimes."

She laughed "I try."

As we jumped out the car I grabbed the bag with our towels and took Emily's hand in mine "I thought fish and chips for lunch and picnic for tea."

She kissed my cheek "Sounds fucking fantastic."

We laid out our towels before I once again grabbed Emily's hand and dragged her over the sand until we reached the cool water, she of course squealed when I splashed her kicking the water with my feet "Just getting you back for last time."

She turned and smirked in my direction "Well I don't need to be so gentle this time and she quickly returned a shower of water towards me."

I screamed as the water hit me, fuck it was cold. I pulled Emily into my arms and kissed her softly and when she was successfully distracted I got my revenge. She screamed out as she backed away from me "You are going to pay for them."

I turned and began to run through the water but she of course soon caught up with me seeking her revenge. We continued having fun for a while until we had both had enough, thankfully we weren't too wet, the sun was shining and it wouldn't take long to dry, I pulled Emily down onto her towel next to me and snuggled close to her "I love you."

She rolled onto her side so she was facing me "I love you too."

We remained in our current positions for a while just gazing into one another's eyes. Eventually Emily smiled not breaking our gaze "Thanks for today Naoms."

I smiled and raised my hand stroking her cheek "It's not over yet." I leant forwards slightly and kissed her softly "Come on I'm starving, fish and chips followed by the amusements. How does that sound?"

She returned my kiss "Sounds fucking fantastic."

We wandered back up the sand dumping the bag back in the car as we walked past quickly buying some food and found a bench overlooking the beach, everything seemed so romantic with the sun shining down on the water as the waves lapped at the sand, I knew I had picked the perfect location for today. Emily gazed at me and smiled "What you thinking beautiful?"

Her voice brought me back to the present day "Oh just how perfect today is."

She kissed my cheek "I know."

A while later we were snuggled together on the bench still mesmerized by the view in front of us but I discreetly glanced at my watch noticing that time was moving along quickly, too quickly for my liking for two reasons, one being I never wanted today to end and the second being that my nerves were beginning to creep back to the surface once more. I turned my head so I was facing Emily knowing we needed to move "Let's go to the amusements."

Emily nodded "Can we take some more silly photos to add to our collection."

I smiled "Of course I wouldn't have it any other way."

She stood up from the bench pulling me up with her and we soon hit the bright lights flashing from all the games machines.

A couple of hours later we emerged after playing on so many different games, taking so many daft photos which we of course had copies of all especially as I wanted to make sure we remembered every aspect of today. Of course after laughing so much our cheeks began to ache and I know I didn't need today to make me realise it as I already knew and fall even more every day but I love Emily Fitch so fucking much, the luckiest day of my life was when she walked through that door into my hospital room. I knew I would always be so fucking thankful. Emily pulled me into her arms and pressed her lips to mine kissing me hard. She smiled as she pulled back gasping for breath "What do you want to do now?"

I glanced at my watch once more "We need to grab the picnic and head back to the beach."

She smiled "Ok, lead the way."

Half an hour later we were sitting on the sand side by side, I kept sliding my hand over my pocket checking it was still there I was seriously feeling so fucking nervous now. We slowly began eating the picnic of bread and cheeses, olives, smoked salmon and fresh strawberries and cream. Emily kissed my cheek softly "You have put so much effort into today, thank you."

I smiled slightly really feeling nervous now as the time was speeding ever nearer, I think Emily had picked up on some of my tension "You ok?"

I smiled "Yeah."

I glanced sideways noticing the sun was beginning to set, I pointed Emily into the same direction I was looking and when I heard her gasp I knew the sunset had her full attention, I shifted my body so I was kneeling beside her sliding the box from my pocket and opening it. I took a deep breath as Emily turned around, she was about to say something when she saw me, I knew it was now or never, I smiled "Emily Fitch will you do me the honour of marrying me?"

It seemed like forever before she answered but in reality it was seconds "Yes, yes, yes and so fucking yes." She flung her arms around me as she crashed her lips against mine, we fell sideways into the sand never breaking the contact between us, I knew I never wanted this moment to end. We only broke apart when we both required oxygen; I smiled "Pass me your hand."

She didn't need asking twice and I quickly slid the ring onto her finger kissing the back of her hand straight after "That looks so right."

She smiled as she looked down at her hand "And it feels so right."

I tugged on her hand literally dragging her in the right direction. I grabbed our overnight bags from the car and quickly checked in before Emily dragged me up the stairs to our room. She shifted her body so she was straddling me "Today was so special Naoms, I think we should celebrate a little more."

I raised my eyebrows "You won't hear me complaining."

I wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled her down to me once again loosing myself in her all over again.
