Hello everybody. I am terribly sorry about the massive delay. I was crazy busy these last few months. Plus, I was more in a reading kinda faze and the writer's block sure didn't help to speed things up. However, I won't abandon this story. I always finish my stories. That's a promise!

Chapter 36

! QUINN'S POINT OF VIEW !

Things are awkward again between Rachel and yourself. The walk to the Cheerio's locker room was spend in utter silence. You don't know what to say and the only sounds you hear is Rachel shivering. You open the door to the locker room and let Rachel go in first before following her in and locking the door.

"I'll quickly grab my things so you can shower." You say running towards your locker. You take your spare clothes, shampoo and towels and turn back towards Rachel. Your heart breaks when you see her standing there. Head down, shivering, and the look on her face is so sad that you just want to cry at the sight.

You walk closer and take your girlfriends freezing hand. She looks up but doesn't say anything. You lead her towards the showers. You place your spare clothes and stuff on the small bench near the showers and then go to turn on the water. Once it's warm enough you turn back to Rachel.

"Rach, your shower is ready." She doesn't hear you. She has wrapped her arms around herself and is shivering even worse now, head still down. "Rach?" you say again as you come to stand before her, trying to make eye contact with her. When she looks up you give her small smile which she doesn't return. "Your shower is ready." You say again. "I'll be waiting for you in the locker room, okay? Take as long as you need."

"Thanks." Rachel nearly whispers.

You give her a small peck on the lips before walking away, leaving so she can take her shower.

You walk into the locker room again and feel empty and so bad for what has happened to Rachel and Artie. Your gaze falls onto the piece of floor that started your relationship with Rachel. You smile softly at the thought. Who would have thought that this would have happened? That Rachel could make you so happy. You go sit down against the wall and think about what happened. You should have been in there to stop Bree. You should have protected them. But, even Santana was too late to stop it. She told you what happened. Bree will pay for this.

That's a promise!

! RACHEL'S POINT OF VIEW !

The shower made you feel better…slightly. It made you presentable again but you are still freezing. You sigh as you look down at your ruined clothed. You liked that outfit! And now stupid Bree ruined it. You shake your head because you have to stop thinking about it if you want to make it through the rest of the day.

So, you dry yourself off quickly and put on the clothes Quinn gave you. They smell like her and that fact alone makes you feel better. Because now you will have that scent on you for the rest of the day. It will bring you comfort. You quickly finish and pick up your things before leaving the showers. You walk out and see Quinn sitting against the wall. She's so deep in thoughts that she doesn't see or hear you walk in.

"If I had to pick a place to sit down I would choose the same spot you chose." You say. Quinn's head shoots up and looks at you.

Quinn smiles when she sees you. "I like this spot. It's special." She tells you as she stands up and walks towards you. "Are you feeling better?"

"A little."

Quinn takes your hands and squeezes them. "Your hands are still freezing". She tells you sadly.

"I know." You reply. "It'll get better."

"I'm sorry this happened."

"So am I but it's not your fault."

Quinn nods like she doesn't believe you. "I'm sad that Artie didn't get to finish his song for Kitty. I'm afraid he'll just give up on trying now."

"Did you see Kitty while you performed?"

"Yeah…I couldn't tell what she thought about the song though. I couldn't read her face."

"I'm sure she liked it."

"I hope so." You would hate it if Bree screwed up the chance of them becoming more then friends. You feel you mood changing again. "Thanks for letting me borrow your clothes." You say, changing the subject.

"You're welcome." Quinn smiles.

"They smell like you." You say.

"I washed them."

You laugh. "I know but still, they smell like you. It's nice…comforting." It will help you get through the day.

"Will you be okay?" Quinn asks you. "What class do you have?"

"I'll be fine." You say although you are not entirely sure. "I have Spanish which I'm running really late for." You sigh.

"I'm sure Mister Schue won't give you a hard time."

You nod. "What class do you have?" You ask your girlfriend.

"History."

"Won't you get in trouble with Miss Danes?"

"I'll just tell her my meeting with Coach Sylvester ran late." Quinn says. "It'll be okay." No one ever questions you when Coach is involved. "Finn is in your Spanish class, isn't he?"

"Yes, he is."

"Good." Even though Finn isn't your best friend. You know he'll look after Rachel. He will make sure she's okay when you are not there yourself.

"Why is that good?" Rachel asks. "You looked like you wanted to beat him earlier."

"I did…" you say. He was giving you a hard time and it was making you mad. "He made me mad, but, I know he'll look after you." You honestly say.

"He will."

"I wish I could stay with you." You say, running your hands up and down Rachel's arms.

"Me too but we really should get going."

You nod. "Okay. I'll text you later and hopefully see you between classes, okay?"

"Okay."

"Let's go." You say but not before giving Rachel another peck on the lips.

You didn't get to see Rachel in between classes and that was really starting to get you worried. You had send her a text which she didn't reply to. And now you have Cheerio's practice that prevents you from going over to her house. At least, you hope she made it home okay.

You're on the verge of calling Finn to ask for more information but that probably would raise more suspicions. Plus, you're not sure Finn would even provide you with answers.

Therefore, you make your way over to the locker room. You sigh before going in. You really don't want to attend practice today. You walk in and and freeze in the doorway as your gaze immediately falls on Bree. It fuels you anger level through the roof!

You can't be here! Not right now. You will hurt the girl. You keep the death grip you currently have on the door. It's the only thing that keeps you from going over there and kicking the living crap out of that bitch. Santana quickly spots you and makes her way over. Bree still totally unaware that you're even in the room. Her and her minions are laughing together. Probably still very pleased with what they did earlier today.

"Q." Santana says. "You'll have to keep it together."

"I don't think I'll be able too." You say, your gaze never leaving Bree's.

Santana follows your gaze. "You'll get into trouble if you do something now."

You nod. "I can't be here, San. All I want to do is smack that smile of her face."

"Me too." Santana agrees.

"Will you cover for me?" You ask. "I should leave." You decide. Rachel wouldn't be happy if you got into a fight with the girl.

"Of course I will."

"Thanks San." You smile at your friend, finally looking at her. "I'll see you tomorrow morning at practice then."

"Are you sure you'll be able to get it together by tomorrow morning?"

"I'll have to, I'm in charge tomorrow so I have to come."

"Okay, go." Santana says.

You nod once more before turning and just leaving all together. Your thoughts already switching back towards Rachel.

You are nervous to be standing at the door. You have rung the doorbell and are waiting for it to open. You hope Rachel made it home safely as you still haven't heard from her.

"Hello Quinn."

You swallow. "Mister Berry, I…is Rachel here, please?"

You see him hesitate. He doesn't seem sure what to tell you. "She is but she isn't up for visitors right now." He finally says in a sad way. You can tell he's hurting because his daughter is hurting. "She's upstairs in bed. She told us she has never been slushied this bad before." He tells you, anger clearly to be heard in his voice.

"Mister Berry, I swear I didn't have anything-…"

"I know. Rachel told us everything." He tells you. "She told us you helped her afterwards."

You nod. "Can I please go upstairs to see her, Sir?" You plead. "I want to make sure she's okay."

"You can try but I don't you'll get very far." He says. "Finn just left ten minutes ago after he brought her home. He said she didn't say more than five words and asked him to leave."

"Oh…" You worry even more about your girlfriend now. "May I?" you ask once more.

LeRoy nods and moves away so you can get in. "I hope you'll be able to talk to her more. I hate seeing my little girl like this."

You nod before you hurry upstairs. You quickly reach her door and softly knock. You wait for an answer but it doesn't come. Maybe she's sleeping? You softly and carefully open the door and as you suspected, Rachel is laying in bed sleeping.

You close the door softly behind you before going over to her bed. You kneel and just watch her. You are so sad to see her like this. You can still see the streaks from her tears on her face. Is she really sleeping? You reach up and softly caress her face, your fingers barely touching her.

"Rach?" you whisper so softly you don't even know if it can be heard.

She did hear it though and Rachel instantly opens her eyes. "Quinn." She says in a broken voice.

"Hey." You say, your hand dropping to hold hers. "Where you just pretending to be asleep?"

"I thought it was Finn again or my dad."

You nod. "I see. Are you feeling a little better?"

Rachel doesn't answer but shakes her head.

"Your dad told me that you didn't want Finn to stay…" you trail off. "Am I..I mean I can go if you don't want me here."

Rachel grips your hands. "Stay." She whispers.

"Of course." You instantly say. "Your hand is still freezing." You notice.

"My whole body is freezing." Rachel says, shivering as she says the words. She pulls the covers slightly to pull them higher and you notice she is still wearing your clothes.

"Rachel, you should really change into warmer clothes."

"I don't want to, they smell like you."

"Well, I'm here now so you can change into something else."

Rachel shakes her head again. "I really don't want to leave the bed."

You nod in return. You can understand that the warmth of the bed would be better then get out of it right now. However, she should really change into warmer clothes then your gym clothes.

"Get in with me?" she whispers again.

You don't reply and just motion for her to move slightly so you can get in. You take of your shoes, get in and pull the covers back down. Rachel wastes no time and pulls you closer, her head buried in your neck.

"I was worried earlier when you didn't answer my texts." You say, wrapping your arms around your girlfriend, trying to get her warmer. "Are you okay?"

"Not really." She mumbles. "I hate Bree."

"You and me both." You growl. "I was so close to beating her earlier. I had to skip practice because of it."

"You skipped practice?"

"Yeah…I wanted to see you."

"That's sweet."

"And I would have punched Bree if I didn't leave. Santana said she would cover for me."

"I don't want you to get into a fight with her, Quinn."

You nod.

"Promise me you won't hurt her."

"I'm not sure I can do that." You honestly don't know how you can promise her that.

"I don't want you to get into trouble because of me."

"I won't."

"Then promise me."

"I really wish you wouldn't ask me this." You say. "But… I promise not to get into a fistfight with her." There will be other ways for revenge though. You don't say those thoughts out loud though.

"Thank you." She whispers followed by a soft kiss against your cheek. You turn your head and kiss her lips softly before stroking her face. She looks at you with sad eyes. You hate seeing her like this.

"I'm really sorry about what happened today, baby."

"I don't blame you for what happened."

"I know." You say running your hands over your girlfriends still cold arms.

"Your dad told me that you didn't want Finn to stay…"

"I just wanted to be alone."

"Oh…-"

"And, alone with you is also fine." She adds.

Is it bad that you like the fact that Finn wasn't allowed to stay and you were?

"I saw that."

"Saw what?" you innocently ask.

"You smiled because I asked Finn to leave…"

"I didn't…" you say when you totally were just smiling because of that reason. "I euh… I smiled because I was allowed to stay." You say, turning your gaze back towards Rachel.

"Thank you for coming over."

"There isn't any other place I'd rather be right now."

Rachel sighs and snuggles closer again. You stay with her to keep her warm and keep your arms around her, as if protecting her from more bad things.
