Chapter 31
Narrator
Sam and Ruby were standing near a car outside of an abandoned house.
"I'm really pissed off about the fight with Dean." He admitted.
"You patch things up later, Sam." She gives him a reassuring smile and tucks her brunette hair behind an ear.
"There won't be a later!" Sam yelled. "I've changed for good."
Bobby's Place
"I won't call Sam!" Dean screamed at Bobby. "He friggin' got into a fist fight with me and he just left Vallie there."
Bobby huffed. "Boy, I know that, but you need to check yourself. You're acting just like your father. You're a better man than him; you can't just leave your family."
Dean just sighed angrily.
Vallie rose from her sleeping position on her father's couch and groaned at the pounding inside her head. "Ugh, what the hell?"
"Hey, darlin'!" Bobby hurries over to his daughter. "How you feeling?"
She stared at him for a few seconds. "Sam betrayed me... us..."
"No, he's making mistakes. He needs to learn from them. He's intoxicated." Bobby assured her.
"That's not right..." She sniffled.
Meanwhile
At the abandoned house, Sam tortures a demon. He demands the location of Lilith.
She screams one last time in pain and looks him in the eye. "T-tomorrow night, she will be at St. Mary's Convent in Ilchester, Maryland. At midnight... Tomorrow night."
Ruby steps forward, "We need to keep her alive so you can feed."
The other demon laughs and says, "This girl will be asking many questions." It withdraws control of the possessed girl and she looks around. "Where am I? Who are you? Why am I tied up?!" She shrieks in fear.
The Green Room
Dean looks around confused; then his eyes land on Zachariah. "What the hell?"
"Oh, nice to see you again, too, Dean." Zach responded sarcastically.
Cas appears as well and nods to Dean, acknowledging him.
Dean gives him a mock smile.
"We're keeping you safe while preparing for the breaking of the final seal." Zac explains.
"Oh, that's just great. How-" They were gone before he finished. He sighed and decided to take out his phone. He went through his calls and saw Sam's contact name. He presses 'call' and brings the phone to his ear. It rings for awhile and no answer.
"'Hey, it's Sam, leave a message and I'll get back to you when I can. If this is Dean: hey! you exist now?'" The voicemail ended and there was a beep.
Dean sighed again. "Sam... I'm sorry... I'm really sorry for what I said to you."
Sam puts the possessed girl into the trunk; then they're on their way to Maryland. He wonders if he should listen to Dean's voicemail on the way, thinking maybe his brother was right all along.
Two miles away from their destination, they stop and Sam finally listens to Dean's message. Instead of what was recorded on the actual message, Sam hears abusive words from Dean. He was done. He turned to Ruby and ordered her to kill the girl so they could get this over with.
Again, The Green Room
"Cas!" Dean raises his voice at the angel. "Let me see Sam, please!"
"No."
"Zachariah!" Dean was getting furious. He turned and found the old angel in front of him.
"Yes?" Dean starts t0 talk, but Zac interrupts him. "Oh, we don't want to stop Lilith from freeing Lucifer and that the upper echelons of the angels want the Apocalypse to happen in order to defeat Hell and bring about Paradise on Earth. Also, your role is to kill Lucifer once he has risen." He smiled. "Got it?"
Vallie
I concentrated hard and broke in the barrier. I appeared into a golden room, next to Dean; across from Zachariah and Castiel.
"Oh, hello, Valehry." Zachariah greeted me, cocky.
"Vallie?" Dean asked, astonished.
I smiled devilishly and placed a hand on Dean, poofing out of there. We ended up outside of a church. I could feel immense power radiating from there. I turned to Dean, who was staring at me with a dumb look. "How? You're not blacking out! You did it twice and you're not breathless."
"She's at full potential."
We whipped around to see Cas.
He looked at Dean and approached us. "Dean, I am sorry for refusing earlier. I'm sorry for all the wrongs I've done to you. But right now, you need to stop your brother from breaking the last seal. Killing Lilith is the last seal."
My mouth dropped and I touched Dean again, poofing us into the church. I got us to the door before the room that contained Sam, Ruby, and Lilith. Dean hurried to picklock the door. I eavesdropped on them.
"Sam." Ruby laughs. "Killing that bitch was the last seal. I've been working to free Lucifer all along. You didn't need your powers to kill Lilith. The things you've done this past year have just helped you to tap into that power. You were the only one who could bring back Lucifer-"
Dean finally opened the door and wielded her knife. She turned around, shocked. Then Dean stabbed the knife into her stomach, deep. She shrieked and fell to the floor.
"Dean, Vallie..."
I ignore him and look at the spiral of blood as it starts the erupt into bright light.
We all held onto each other tightly as Lucifer rises...
