Chapter 35

Confession Official

Sorry for the late update I was busy these days…

I read through your reviews and none of you got right about May's secret…..

I kind of expected one to be right but I guess I put my hopes up too high.

The MV explanation is supposed to be uploaded on my blog but since it's Korean and all ( I would write in English) I will just explain about it on the bottom of this chapter.

Paul stared. At who? Well isn't it obvious, at the blue haired beauty who was concentrating hard to pass Chemistry. On Paul's lips a small smile formed and ripped his gaze off of the girl as she turned around. She obviously felt something staring at her back. She glanced at Paul in suspicion but the boy was looking down at his textbook. "Hmm…" She turned back to the teacher and rested her head on her palm, bored.

Ever since that incident between her and May the two got even closer. Dawn and May were best friends from the start but they were always together. Almost making Zoey jealous. "You two are leaving me alone! Am I not your friend anymore?" Zoey asked with fake tears during lunch.

"Of course not!" Dawn said hugging her friend. The warm March sunlight was shining down on them. She smiled, she loved these time of the year. Dawn turned around and winked at May who was having a conversation with Misty.

"Huh? Oh, of course not Zoey, we are your best friends and you are not left out, Kenny will always be there with you." May stated and the others started to laugh, except for Zoey the victim.

"Why is Kenny's name being told in a conversation like this?" Zoey asked her face slowly turning to the same color as her hair.

"Why do you think? Isn't it obvious?" Marina leaned in close.

"No it is not." Zoey protested while slamming on the table, surprising everyone around them. Zoey apologized while laughing nervously and sat back down quickly.

"Do you guys have a hobby of making fun of me?" She asked.

"But you always teased May and Dawn." Marina said biting down her sandwich. Zoey groaned, now regretting all the fun she had.

"Now now, there there Zoey. It's okay, sometimes you just have to get used to it." Leaf said suppressing her laughter but the others didn't even try not to laugh.

"If I commit suicide please note that it was all because of May and Dawn." Zoey mumbled after stuffing her face into her arms, lying down on the lunch table.

"Sure." Leaf said with a small smile.

After the fun part of teasing Dawn walked down to her classroom and ran into Paul.

"Hi." He mumbled and as if he was running away he walked away from her with quick pace. Dawn tilted her head a little and walked down the hallway.

Paul covered his forehead with his hand. He could actually feel his face being hotter and hotter every second.

"I am getting crazier every second." He muttered to himself.

"Hey Paul!" He turned around to find his grasshead friend coming his way.

"Hey Drew, what's up?" He asked.

"Just wanted to tell you that I'm going to give up on Dawn." He said which surprised Paul almost making him trip over nothing making Drew laugh.

"Serious?"

"Yes. I don't think I have any more chance. It's all up to you bro." Drew said with a sad smile.

"Yeah, thanks." Paul said quickly calculating over the plan and other things.

"Your welcome." Drew said with a small frown remaining on his face.

"It's nothing." Drew added and headed to his class, leaving Paul on his own to play his game.

Paul spent rest of his day making plans for his confession.

"Mr. Shinji."

Paul looked up and realized that he was being called by his teacher.

"Yes sir?"

"I called you 5 times already, what were you doing?" Paul found himself gulping and hiding the yellow sheet of paper under his text book but his teacher snatched it away.

"Sir, please give it back."

"Shinji, I can't even read it because of your horrible handwriting."

'For once it is beneficial.' Paul thought as the teacher gave the paper back along with a detention slip.

"So you wrote a list to confess your feeling to Dawn, officially." Gary said as he raised his eye brow.

Paul nodded. For the first time Gary could see nervous Paul, which was pretty scary and creepy.

"Dude, just be the Paul I know. Cruel, mean, jerkass, cold-hearted-"

"Keep on going and I'll make sure you will never talk again."

Gary grinned, "That's the spirit." Paul rolled his eyes at the comment.

"So the self-claimed love expert is going to help me or not?" Paul asked as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"I will try my best. But this plan, isn't it too um long termed?" Gary asked.

"I bet my arm that she wouldn't accept me if I just go up to her and tell her that I love her."

Gary shrugged, "Nah she won't stop there she would try to murder you."

"Dawn's not that violent." Said Ash who was listening to them the whole time.

"What is he even doing here? He just got his first girlfriend."

"And you were a single from birth." Gary pointed out and Paul sighed.

"I don't need Ketchum's help on this." Paul said while standing up.

"Meanie." Ash said with a pout.

"Gary, thanks." Paul said and as quick as a wind he stormed out of the dorm room and to the corridor. Ash dropped his hotdog.

"Did Paul Shinji just thanked me?" Ash asked standing up and picking up the hotdog.

"I am not going to forget this ever in my life time."

Paul quickly headed to the classroom and sat down on the seat. He was glad that the girls in this school was finally getting used to having him in the same class.

He looked at the blue haired beauty who was staring at her phone and smiled. She had her hair in high ponytail with red ribbon that suited her so well. Her usual yellow clips were gone. Paul carefully examined her. She was wearing the necklace that Drew gave her and had a silver bracelet that carefully wrapped around her delicate wrist. Her blue eyes were deep in thought and her fingers were playing with the pencil.

She looked beautiful, her being itself was beautiful and made him happy. "Good morning everyone!" the class begun but Paul was just too nervous. Some sight you just can't possibly imagine.

So what Paul did was to plan his confession for the whole week. He talked even less than he talked before and that probably was less than a word per a day.

Phase 1: Give a small gift every day for a week

Paul scratched back of his head and arrived to the class as early as he could. He slipped a small box on the chair and walked out of the classroom. He returned about 10 minutes later and saw people surrounding her desk.

"Aww, it's so cute! Dawn you are so lucky." Squealed someone as Dawn with a questioning look stared into a box. It was a necklace with silver chain and golden heart with a small diamond embedded on the middle.

"It looks pretty expensive." Dawn said.

"Um, just in case you forgot most of the students in this school are filthy rich." May said.

"Right…" Dawn tilted her head, wondering who bought her such an expensive gift. She glanced behind and examined Paul who was listening to music while reading a book. She shrugged and put the necklace in her pocket.

The next day she found another box on the top of the desk this time. It was pretty big this time. Dawn thought about not opening it but with May staring at it she had to open it in order to not to get murdered by May.

"What is it?"

The bow opened it and it revealed a light pink teddy bear about a size of a small booklet. It had a ribbon of the same color hung around its neck and its snout was white with brown triangular nose on the middle. Its eyes were black marvel. One word, adorable. Dawn stared at the bear who was smiling at her.

"Dawn it's adorable!" May squealed.

"Yeah but who's spending money to get these?" Dawn asked, curious and suspecting a certain plumhead who was listening to music in the back of the class.

"Who cares?"

"I care. I can't accept gift from someone I don't know." Dawn glanced backward and saw the plumhead flinching.

'Gotcha'

"Well you got tones of fans in this school."

"Still…" Dawn glanced once more and saw his face distorted in annoyance.

"Why are keep glancing back?" May asked and Dawn cursed in her head.

"Nothing." She said and glanced once more to see the facial change in Paul's always-grouchy face.

"Hmm…"

And for the rest of the week Dawn found gifts on her desk, a book about famous artists, a small watch, and the last one was a handkerchief. Exactly the ones she wanted so much. Her suspect on Paul grew stronger yet she wondered if it was someone else since after hearing what she said she doubted the admirer would keep on bringing the gifts. She decided to give up on the subject.

Phase 2: Stop giving gifts

The next Monday when she arrived in the class, she half-expected another box to be sitting on the top of her desk but instead the only thing waiting for her was a thin layer of dust formed.

"Aww, there aren't anything!" May said. If you didn't know it would almost seem like May was the one who was getting presents, not Dawn.

"May, you are not even the owner of the presents." Dawn said with sweatdrop.

"Still, it was pretty cute and enjoyable to see those pretty things." She said with small giggle.

"You think? Well I guess I was bit happy." Dawn said, glad that Paul wasn't around.

"See! Every woman likes gifts." May said as matter of factly.

Dawn smiled, "Can't disagree on that." She quickly sat back on her seat when she spotted Paul entering the classroom. She glanced back and her eyes met his. She quickly faced the forward feeling her face burning a little.

'No no no! Snap out of it!'

Dawn, after school returned to her dorm room and sat on her bed. It was Friday, no gifts. Not that she's disappointed or something but thinking the admirer as Paul her heart just didn't stop pounding. She didn't know why. Maybe because she hates him still? No, that was false. Not true at all.

"Dawn, is something wrong?" Dawn's head perked up and saw Misty along with Leaf.

"Nothing's wrong." Dawn said.

"Oh don't lie to me sweetheart." Leaf said as she sat right beside her.

"Well, is it related to those gifts from the secret admirer?" Misty sat on the other side and questioned.

Dawn shrugged, "Kind of, I'm not sure though."

"What do you mean?" Misty asked, while digging through her backpack.

"Well I'm glad I am not in center of attention even at school. But at the same time I want to get more gift, to um know who he is." Dawn said quickly.

"Yeah, yeah, you just want to get more goods out of him."

"I do not!" Dawn said with a mild shriek.

"What's going on? You guys are not torturing Dawn, are you?" Dawn turned and saw May entering with Marina and Zoey. They snickered.

"Ugh, you girls are bit weird sometimes." Dawn groaned and looked pulled out the necklace that was in her pocket. She stared at it, wondering who would buy it for her. She was pretty sure it was Paul, she knew that it would be weird if it wasn't Paul or that weird psycho stalker, what was his name? Conway, yeah him.

"You know what? I have a feeling that it is Paul but I don't have any proof." Dawn said.

"Ouch, are you okay sweetheart?"

"I don't hate him that much anymore. I'm fine."

"Oh really? Well then why are you frowning that much?"

"It feels awkward, if you know what I mean."

Dawn scratched her head and put the necklace away.

"You know around this time last year I really liked Drew. It just feels weird to think that just a year passed and I'm meeting a new man? I don't think it is right."

"…"

"Well Dawn, Drew gave up on you. You don't have to feel guilty about anything." May said.

"I don't feel guilty. That's not the feeling I have, it's something else that I can't explain easily."

"How do you exactly feel about him?" Leaf asked.

"Just, friend. That's it, just a friend. Who used to be someone I hate the most, but I don't want to tell him that I don't hate him anymore."

The other girls shook their head.

"You are seriously complicated." Leaf finally commented.

"I know."

Paul scratched his head while waiting for his trust-worthy friend, Gary to come and give him some love advice. The dorm room had no one except for him which Paul would usually like. He liked being alone. He was more comfortable that way. But this time he needed the annoying brunette. The door soon opened showing the said teenager.

"Oak, you are late." Paul said with a grumble.

"You are the one who's getting help so shut up and wait." Gary shot him a look and sat down across him.

"Yeah I waited about an hour because of you having your stupid date." Paul said.

Gary held out his hand and took out a scratch paper from Ash's bag scribbled something down.

"So you are in 'Phase 2' am I correct? Which is stop delivering her the gifts that she would like." Paul nodded.

"Is she noticing it? Like looking around for the gift and things?"

"She did on the first day but after that she acted as if she didn't got the presents in the first place." Paul responded. Gary got into his thinking mode.

"Leaf told me that Dawn's suspecting you. I didn't tell her the truth or anything but just telling you that if you want your plan to succeed you'd better be careful."

"Yeah, I got it. So what should I do now?"

Phase 0

Paul grumbled as he walked around in circle. He was out of his mind to ask Gary Oak for an important matter like this. Sure he is self-claimed love expert but it hardly helped Paul on his matter.

What Gary suggested for the final made Phase 1 and Phase 2 a waste of time. It ignored all of them. Paul wanted to kill Gary so much. He sighed and walked around the same place. He was currently on the girl's dormitory roof, fully dressed in formal attire and had a bouquet of red roses wrapped in coral blue wrapper along with pink ribbon in his hand.

"Hey Paul!" The roof door opened, Paul almost jumped but growled after realizing it was just Ash.

"What?"

"Dawn's coming!" Ash said as he quickly ran downstairs. Paul blinked for a moment, remembering why he was here. He gulped as he stood in front of the door with a stern face, hiding the bouquet behind his back. His finger tapped against the roses due to the nervousness.

The door creaked open and Dawn walked out. She had a small curious frown on her face. She had her signature clip on her hair and a pastel pink thin strapped one piece along with a white sandal. Her hair was down and had the necklace that was sent to her.

"Oh, it was you." Dawn said, not very much surprised. Paul shrugged but even on his emotionless face it was clear to Dawn that he was nervous.

"So, what am I supposed to be doing here?" She asked walking around to peek behind Paul's back but he moved to hide the object behind his back.

"What are you hiding there?" Dawn asked as she kept on walking to see what it is and Paul kept on hiding it.

"Come on!" Dawn said, running out of her patience.

Paul frowned then shoved the bouquet into her.

"Happy?" He asked but inside his head was screaming to himself asking why he didn't follow Gary's guidance. He was kicking himself on the inside of his mind.

"What's this?" Dawn asked although she seemed to know what was going on already.

"I am trying to tell you that I like you a lot but I can't find a right word to put it." Paul said saying the first words that came into his mind and regretting saying it.

Dawn stared at him, then stared at the bouquet. She repeated that movements for a long amount of time.

"You are not joking right?"

Paul shook his head.

"Then at least say it more properly." Dawn said giving the bouquet back to Paul.

Paul felt like everything inside his brain getting erased. It was a feeling he felt for the first time in his life. He felt dizzy, chill came up from his feet to his head and he knelt down on one knee, which startled her, and said the words.

"I really like you Dawn Berlitz."

Paul said handing her the bouquet gently as possible but sadly Dawn pushed it away even more gently.

"I'm sorry. I really am. But I…. Maybe later." She said and as if running away she opened the door and ran downstairs.

Paul was frozen on the spot for a long time.

He couldn't move an inch and he just stood there for a moment then he sat down on a bench and ran his fingers through his shaggy purple hair. He stared at the floor for a while and sighed.

"This is tough."

Okay the angel (May) was punished for some reason and sent down to the Earth where she fell in love with the girl (Dawn) who later rejected her feeling. So she made a contract with a devil so she could be a boy (Paul). Then another angel (Drew) came and killed Dawn because he loved the angel. And the angel who lost her lover sacrificed herself to make the girl come back to life.

This angel was female and since she fell in love with a girl, it means that she's homosexual. Indicating that May had a long-term crush on Dawn. Now she wants Paul to replace herself and to love Dawn. It also indicates that Drew will love May later on.

Sorry for such a horrible chapter and being late
