AN: Time for the last chapter before the final Shadow Rider stuff happens. And this time, we got our awesome beautiful Obelisk duo Alexis Rhodes and Asami Elric in a tag duel. I really had fun doing it.

This is also Alexis and Asami centric, showing their friendship that'll play a big role in the spin off. Yeah, everything lately has been set up and foreshadow for the spin off. I gotta do this since we're so close to it. The story will change a large portion of the cast, especially our two main couples, forever.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the goodness of the tag duel, which is my third in the story. We'll have one more before Season 1 ends.

Enjoy

Chapter 36-

Late one night, as stars blanketed the night sky, a large, private boat sailed across the black sea, lights dotting the sides, showing occupied rooms. One room in particular, was occupied by a trio of card players and a few lovely ladies who sat on a couch nearby. They were playing poker.

"I call..." One of the players, a burly man with slicked dark hair laid his hand onto the table. His opponent, a young man with brown hair, with square glasses and wearing a white suit looked down to see all of his cards were the suit of hearts.

"Read 'em and weep," the burly man chuckled and began to pull the large pile of poker chips, "Looks like, finally, the Gambler has lost a game,"

The man now identified as The Gambler smirked. His companion, another man that was dressed the same way without the glasses and had brown hair as well with blue eyes, saw the smirk and sprouted one of his own.

"I don't think so, mon ami,"

The burly man watched as his opponent tossed a bright red handkerchief onto the pile of chips, as well as his hands.

His opponent spread out his own hand to show that he had a royal flush, the higher set in this game.

"I win again, no?"

The ladies overlooking the game gasped at another victory the Gambler had achieved. Another victory added to his long list.

...

Sometime after his victory, the Gambler stood out on the deck, leaning on the railing, looking out at the vast sea with his companion in tow. Both were quiet, lost in their own sea of thoughts. A soft noise and the sound of footsteps made them turn slightly.

"Good game in there,"

It was his opponent from the match.

The burly man walked up to his side, looking out at the sea, "I don't think I've ever seen such a fine gambler. Congratulations,"

"Merci," the brunette smiled, enjoying the taste of egotism.

"The best..." his companion smirked.

"But my friend..." the burly man pointed to a large island in the distance, "If you want a true challenge, check out the island on our portside. It happens to be the most famous dueling school on the planet. Home of the very best of the best,"

The Gambler's companion raised an eyebrow.

"Duel Academy?" The Gambler glanced at the man and then his companion, smiling, "In that case, au revoir,"

"And just where are you going?"

"Where else?" He asked as he started walking before turning back. "Let's go Matthew..."

The man now identified as Matthew nodded before he followed.

...

A short time later, the Gambler and Matthew were skipping along the waves of the dark ocean on jet skis as the ship became smaller and smaller behind them.

'Finally, the opportunity to challenge the only person who's gotten the best of me, Duel Academy, prepare yourself for the Gambler!'

Matthew had his own thoughts as he drove.

'Time for revenge on little Miss Elric for making me look like a fool! Prepare yourself for Matthew 'The Skull' Matheson!'

...

At a cliff over the ocean, Jaden and Jason were just sitting around and taking in the night air.

It was a nice night, but they couldn't enjoy it all that much. They were too busy thinking about everything that's happened lately. Jaden was thinking about Professor Banner and his disappearance while Jason was thinking about the upcoming event of meeting Asami's parents when the school year let out.

He didn't show it, but he was scared shitless to meet her dad.

"Hi Jaden..."

"Hi Jason..."

The boys turned around to see Alexis and Asami walking up to them.

"Hey Alexis," Jaden waved at her.

Jason waved at his girlfriend.

Alexis waved back, "Sy said you two would be here."

Asami waved back to her boyfriend. "What are you doing?"

"We're just relaxing," Jaden said. "I just thought it'd be nice to take a breather from this 'saving the world' and Shadow Rider stuff for a little bit."

"Its definitely well earned," Asami nodded, "Especially for you two..."

"Has there been any news about Professor Banner?" Alexis asked, sitting on Jaden's right while Asami took a seat on Jason's left.

Jaden shook his head as a low roar was heard, "No... unless..." he looked down to see two jet skis approach the beach below. "That's him now..."

...

Sheppard and Crowler hadn't seen nothing quite like this young man in a white suit and his partner in crime next to him in a white suit too, who both wanted something that they never thought anyone would ask.

Crowler frowned at the visitors, "Would you mind repeating that?" he hissed.

The Gambler smiled, putting a hand into his pants pocket, "I want to duel your school's bon student: Alexis Rhodes..."

"And I want to duel Asami Elric." Matthew said.

"And why should we agree?"

"Because," the young man reached into his jacket and pulled out a card, holding it out for Crowler to take.

Said teacher snatched it away and raised an eyebrow at the words scrawled on the back of it. "The Gambler...? What is this?" He demanded.

"It is, I guess you can call, my calling card... and I always get what I want,"

"Its true..." Matthew nodded and smirked smugly.

The Gambler eyed Crowler, "So, where is she?"

Sheppard cleared his throat, "Listen, my school is not a gambling parlor! I don't care who you are on the outside, but when you come here to my academy, you obey my rules. Got it?" He warned as Crowler nodded in agreement.

"Monsieur," the Gambler placed a hand on Sheppard's desk and leaned in, "Either call them, or I swear on my honor that I will make things most uncomfortable for you and your friends,"

Just then, the automatic door to the office opened up, causing the three men to look and find no one standing outside the room before the door closed on it's on.

Outside, Chazz, Syrus, and Chumley, along with some other Slifers were pressed up against the wall, eavesdropping.

"Hey guys, what's this? Dorm meeting?"

Chazz, Syrus, and Chumley turned to see Asami, Jason, Jaden, and Alexis walking up to them, and raised their fingers, "Shhh!"

"Can't you tell?" Syrus hissed, pointing to the door, "We're trying to spy in there!"

Alexis looked at the door, "Who are you guys spying on?"

Inside the office, the three men turned at the sound of the door hissing open, but once again, nothing was there.

Outside, Jaden and the other three were pressed up against the wall like the others. Jaden noticed that Alexis and Asami had a worried look on their faces.

"Alexis, Asami... you okay?" He asked while Jason stared worryingly over at his girlfriend.

Back on the inside, "Well, mon ami, call her or things go bad," the Gambler threatened.

Sheppard frowned, "I said no. Now, leave peacefully or I'll have you thrown out!"

The Gambler's face matched the Chancellor's frown, "I think I detect a bluff!"

"Oh, do you?" Crowler asked as the two side doors to the office opened up and the Disciplinary Action Squad troop marched in.

Matthew and The Gambler backed away as the group closed in on them, but as they began to tighten their grid, they jumped high into the air away from them and from The Gambler's jacket, he threw numerous cards at them, striking them in various body parts. Even Crowler became a victim when a card struck the belt on his pants, making them drop to his knees.

"Sheppard," the Gambler plopped himself on the Chancellor's desk, waving his red handkerchief idly while Matthew remained standing. "I'm not leaving until you get her,"

The door hissed opened again and Alexis and Asami walked in, staring hard at them while the DAS members were recovering.

"Well, you haven't grown up too much," Alexis said evenly.

The Gambler looked back at Alexis, "My my... you have," he observed.

"Still playing follower to the rich boy?" Asami asked Matthew.

He looked at her, "Damn, you got really hot..." He stated. Asami only glared in response.

"Quit the compliments, boys," Alexis snapped, pulling out her Spirit Key before turning to Pierre. "You're here because you want something. Probably whatever we value most, like this Spirit Key or maybe our duel decks? I know that you don't have anything we want."

Pierre chuckled and hopped off the desk, holding up his handkerchief, "Oh, but I do and you know it. It once belonged to you,"

"Only until you stole it you thief!" She snapped at him, hands curling into fists.

"What?" Jaden growled, narrowing his eyes.

"Its true!" Asami growled.

"Well, then. I know you want it, and I'm very sure you'll duel for it!"

Alexis glared at him as he stuffed the red fabric into his front pocket.

"And what do you want from me?" Asami turned to Matthew.

The boy smirked knowingly at her, "I would think you would know, considering you were proud of it afterwards..." at her still confused face, he growled, "You beat me in a duel in front of the entire school!"

The memory came back to her now, nodding shortly afterwards. "Yeah I beat you... So you want revenge? Is that it?"

"Someone get the girl a prize," he clapped amusingly. "Yes, I want revenge, Sami..."

"Don't call me that," she growled. She didn't like this guy ever since he made her look like a fool in front of the entire school when she asked him out. Before she decided to apply for Duel Academy, she challenged him to a duel to put her past behind her, wanting to bury all attraction that she had to this boy.

She won, obviously, and was smirking inwardly at the chance to beat him again. She had lots of anger still at him for embarrassing her and would love to take more out.

"Well I just thought of a great idea," Matthew smirked, "Instead of wasting time one on one, how about we just get right on it with a tag duel..."

Pierre smirked too, "Yes, very interesting idea."

"Us against you two?" Asami asked.

Alexis smirked, "Well this should be fun..."

Everyone outside and inside Sheppard's office was confused at what was going on.

"I am so lost..." Chazz's words spoke for everyone.

...

Everyone went to the main dueling arena where Alexis and Asami were going to duel against the Gambler and Matthew. Still one question clouded their minds.

"So, who are these guys, and why do they have it in for Alexis and Asami?" Jaden wondered. Jason did too, feeling some anger in him at the tone Matthew had been using on Asami.

"It may have something to do with that handkerchief," Chazz noted. "I saw how Alexis snapped when he gestured it to her."

"But what does that other guy have against Asami?" Syrus asked. Everyone turned to Jason, who only glanced at them before shrugging and shaking his head.

"I can't wait to see the girls beat them." Jaden said.

Jason and the others stood in outer area of the duel arena while Sheppard and Crowler took two seats in the stands as Alexis and Pierre inserted their duel decks.

"Shall we, my cheries?" Pierre smugly as his duel disk whirred to life.

Alexis grinned, "Bring it!"

"Time for my revenge!" Matthew stated.

Asami narrowed her eyes. "Not today, Matt!" She spat.

"Duel!"

Alexis/Asami: 8000

Pierre/Matthew: 8000

"My draw!" Pierre drew his card and placed it on his disk, "I invoke Gamble Angel Bunny in attack mode!"

An attractive girl with long brown hair appeared, with fake bunny paw gloves and feet, matching ears, and a skimpy black outfit that not only complimented her visor shades, but didn't leave much to the imagination. (ATK: 1200/DEF: 1200)

Syrus smiled, face going red, "Wow... look at her..."

"Easy, Sy," Jaden smiled and shook his head, "You don't wanna go and make the Dark Magician Girl jealous, do ya?"

Syrus' face fell and his eyes went wide, "She here?"

"I'll place Second Coin Toss on the field and activate my Angel Bunny's effect," Pierre declared as he inserted a card into his disk, "I toss a coin, and guess heads or tails," he held up a gold coin, "If I call correctly, you lose 1000 Life Points. If I guess wrong, I lose 1000 Life Points. This is heads," he showed a side that looked like a knockoff of a certain eye symbol, then turned it to show a single dot on the other side, "And this is tails,"

Alexis looked at the coin and nodded, "Alright..."

"Tell me, do you feel lucky, Alexis?" Pierre asked before flipping the coin high into the air. Everyone watched as the coin rose, then descended onto Pierre's hand. Without moving his hand, Pierre smiled, "Tails,"

He moved his hand and the coin was heads.

"Wrong side," Chazz grinned.

Pierre's smile only widened, "I think I'll go again,"

Alexis blinked at his words, "You'll wha-?"

"Hey, that's against the rules!" Syrus yelled out to him.

"Not in this situation..." Jaden muttered.

"The boy is right, I played this!" Pierre pointed to his spell card. "My Second Coin Toss lets me toss the coin again. What's more, is that I can use it once per turn until it's destroyed,"

Jaden frowned, "Oh no... The girl's are in trouble with that redo card out."

Pierre flipped his coin again and caught it, "Tails," he looked under his hand and smiled, "I win! Now, Gamble Angel Bunny, you're ability activates!" He eyed Alexis, "Think of it this way, cherie, you finally hit the Jackpot!"

The Bunny raised her paw to the sky and Alexis covered herself as a shower of solid gold coins rained down on her, taking a chunk of points out.

Alexis/Asami: 7000

Pierre/Matthew: 8000

"Lex!" Asami called in concern.

'Ok, Alexis, pull it together...' she thought, glaring at the white-suited duelist.

"For mon finale, I'll lay down a facedown card," Pierre finished, slipping another card into his disk.

"Now it's my turn!" Alexis drew her card, "I summon Cyber Tutu in attack mode!"

Alexis' dancer monster appeared, twirling on her tiptoes. (ATK: 1000/DEF: 800)

She inserted some cards into the slots, "I'll place two cards facedown and end my turn..."

"And I shall now end this duel!"

The blonde Obelisk stared at the Gambler, then shook her head, smiling a little, "You haven't changed one bit,"

"You watch your tongue!" Pierre snapped at her.

"I still see the scared little boy you still are." She pressed on

Pierre glared, "Shut up! I'm not scared, I'm a winner! Remember?! I never lost a game, except to you!"

Jaden, Chumley, Chazz, Jason, and Syrus looked at one another, shrugged, then turned to Alexis.

"Mind fillin' in the peanut gallery?" Jaden asked them.

Alexis nodded, "With pleasure, Jay. It all started when we were real young..."

...

'You were the new student. No friends, no clue, just a cute smile. But we all pitched in and made you feel welcome. We were you new family, and how did you treat your new brothers and sisters? You ripped us off, one by one...'

"Alexis, I just love your scarf!" Asami grinned as she looked at it.

Alexis looked up from a scarlet scarf that she held in her hands, "Thanks. Mommy gave it to me..."

"I won! I beat you!"

Alexis and Asami turned to see a kid hold up a shiny, red toy car.

"I guess I get this, huh?"

Pierre nodded, "Oui. So," he held up another toy from his side of the table, "Double or nothing?"

'You just had so much money and so many toys, that you kept gambling, and gambling, and gambling until they finally lost! You ended up taking everything from everybody and I wasn't gonna let you get away with it.'

Alexis walked over to his desk, which was not littered with numerous toys, "Alright, Pierre, give those things back!"

"Only if you beat me..." Pierre shot back, turning to her, then eyed the scarf in her pocket, "But first you must wager. How about the scarf? It's very pretty, no?"

"Fine, you're on... in Duel Monsters!"

"Duel... Monsters?"

A little while later, Alexis smiled as she placed her monster down across from Pierre's weaker monster, "I win!"

Pierre growled, glaring at her, "You cheated!" he said accusingly.

Alexis shrugged as she gathered her cards, "Just gotta know how to play the game. I'd be happy to teach you," she offered, rising from her seat.

"You can't leave!" Pierre protested, then looked down at her pocket, "Not before I take this!" he reached out and swiped the red scarf from her jacket, "So who is the loser now?"

Before she could do anything, Pierre bolted from the classroom, scarf held tight in his hand while Alexis cried.

...

"You stole it... a gift that my mom gave me. It was her favorite scarf," Alexis stared Pierre down, "You know why? Because you're not a gambler! You're a thief, and crooks like you always go down!"

"I can't stand criminals..." Asami glared at the boy ahead. "You really hurt Alexis and now its time you paid for it..."

"I'll say..." Alexis narrowed her eyes. "I've been wanting to do this for five years."

Pierre scoffed, "Tres bien... but of course," he pulled out the scarf, "Your scarf has become..." he lightly kissed the fabric. "My favorite good luck charm,"

Alexis raised an eyebrow, "Really? Well, not for long!"

Jaden was so angry right now he couldn't express it. "So that explains their beef..."

"But what about Asami and that guy?" Chazz asked, pointing to the other two duelists.

"I'll explain after my turn," Asami promised.

"But until then, I'm up," Matthew drew. "I start with the One for One spell card!"

A spell card appeared showing a Samsara Lotus appearing from a red armored fiend.

"This lets me send one monster from my hand to the graveyard in order to special summon a level 1 monster from hand as well!"

The boy held up one monster.

"I'll discard the Lady in Wight to special summon Skull Servant from my deck to the field in defense mode!"

A skeleton in a purple robe appeared on the field in defense. (ATK: 300/DEF: 200)

"And with a facedown I end my turn!" One facedown appeared on his field.

Asami blinked. "New deck?"

Matthew smirked, "Made it especially to beat you with..."

"If you're trying to flatter me, you can stop," Asami said. "I'm already taken..."

Remembering what he told her two years back, Matthew smirked, "Is your little boyfriend someone who's more pathetic than you?"

Jason glared angrily, not because he was called out, but because Matthew called his girlfriend pathetic. She was the farthest thing from pathetic.

She glared, "No he's not, but this isn't about my love life, Matthew. This is about helping my friend and that's what I'm gonna do."

She drew her next card, "I'll set a monster in defense mode and set two cards facedown to end my turn." She concluded as three reversed cards appeared on Asami's field.

"Now that that useless turn's done, you ready to tell the peanut gallery about me and you?" Matthew smirked.

Asami narrowed her eyes at his comment, but kept calm. "With pleasure..." she said. "Like with Lex and Pierre, this is when we were young..."

...

'You were one of the most popular boys in school. You had it all. Money, popularity, smarts, looks, and you were even captain of the baseball team. Every girl liked you, and I was no exception...'

Asami was shyly looking forward to where Matthew was standing by his friends, her books held close to her chest nervously.

She turned to Alexis, "What if he doesn't like me?" She asked worryingly, not wanting this to go bad.

Alexis gave her an easy going smile, "Of course he'll say yes. You're smart, funny, and pretty. He'll be stupid if he says no."

Asami blushed, "You really think so?" She asked hopefully.

"Yes!" She shoved her lightly over in his direction. "Go get 'em!"

'I was so nervous to ask you, but a part of me really thought that Alexis was right. I thought that maybe you would say yes to go out with me... But I was stupid to believe that...'

"Yeah right! You're hot and all, but I don't date people who can't even spell their own name! The only guy that'll date you is one more pathetic than you!"

Asami started crying at the laughter from the hall that followed suit before she ran away from Matthew, pass Alexis, and went to the girls bathroom to cry her eyes out in an empty stall.

...

"You broke my heart." Asami said to the boy across from her. "It took me so much courage to walk up to you and ask the question, and you stomped all over my feelings like if they were nothing."

Jason was livid after hearing this. He wanted to desperately to climb up the arena and beat Matthew senseless for having hurt his love the way he did.

"And when I applied to go to this school, I challenged you to a duel so I can have a clean slate and not have anything from my past drag me down... And I was happy that I won..." she smiled.

"Well you'll be happy to know that despite being angry that you beat me, I wouldn't mind going out with you now." Matthew smirked over at her.

Alexis scoffed before Asami could, "Please, she already has someone. Someone who loves her for who she is and not for how she looks," she glared. "And I really wanted to beat you bad for hurting her, so I'm glad you're here..." she smirked. "I finally get to do that too."

Pierre scoffed, "Let's get back to the duel!" He drew. "I'll play my Bunny's special ability," he declared, flipping the gold coin again, "Heads!"

He caught the coin and looked at it. Tails...

"Alright, once again!" he tossed the coin yet again and caught it, "Tails!" he looked under his hand and smiled widely, "Correct!"

Once again, Alexis was bombarded by a shower of solid gold coins.

Alexis/Asami: 6000

Pierre/Matthew: 8000

"Now, I shall summon my Angel Bunny's cute twin," Pierre slapped a card onto his disk and an identical girl in a bunny outfit appeared on the field. (ATK: 1200/DEF: 1200)

"Now, my Angel Bunny, attack her Cyber Tutu!"

Alexis watched as the Bunny hopped into the air and began to descend onto her dancer. 'He's not using her special ability?' She thought before pressing a button on her disk.

"Not so fast! I play my facedown... Doble Passe! Check it out, this card sends all that damage to me instead, and then you take damage equal to Cyber Tutu's attack points!" she explained as a maelstrom of holo-cards whizzed past her.

Alexis/Asami: 4800

Pierre/Matthew: 8000

She looked up, holding her arm, "Go, Cyber Tutu, get him!"

The dancer monster nodded and began to spin rapidly, sending strong winds that blew hard into Pierre and his monsters.

Alexis/Asami: 4800

Pierre/Matthew: 7000

"Got them!" Jaden pumped his fist.

"Now let's just hope they can do more," Chazz said.

Pierre regained his composure, "I'm far from finished! Now, my other Angel Bunny attacks your dancing dolt!" He cried as his Angel Bunny sent her own flurry of cards towards the Cyber Tutu...

"Not this time!" Asami triggered one of her facedowns. "I activate Back Attack Ambush!" Asami's trap flipped up to show a purple head with two arms holding two lit tiki torches. "Now I negate the attack and get an Ambush token for every monster you have in attack mode!"

On Asami's field next to her set monster, two of the purple heads seen on the card appeared on her field in defense mode. (ATK: 100/DEF: 100)×2

"And the best part is that I can now tribute my tokens and deal 500 points of damage with each!"

Both of the heads lit up in flames before they both launched out towards Pierre.

Alexis/Asami: 4800

Pierre/Matthew: 6000

"That was for making Alexis cry by taking her scarf," Asami glared.

"Now that's how you duel!" Jaden grinned while Jason smiled widely at his girlfriend's move.

Pierre shook off the attacks, "No matter, madame woozle, you're mine now next turn!"

Alexis glared at him, "It all comes down to this," she murmured as she drew her card, "First, I'll place a card facedown, and then I play my Spell card, Scapegoat! This card lets me summon four sheep tokens in defense mode!" she explained.

Four sleeping sheep appeared with different kind of colors. (ATK: 0/DEF: 0)×4

"That'll buy them a few turns to think of something," Chazz muttered.

"Now its back to me," Matthew drew. "I'll play Allure of Darkness. Now I draw two cards and then I have to banish a Dark type monster or else I lose my whole hand..."

He picked up twice before selecting a card to banish, leaving him with four. "And now I activate the effect of my Wightmare monster card! I discard it from my hand to special summon back the monster I just removed from play: The Lady in Wight!"

He discarded his card before a skeleton lady wearing a brown dress appeared on the field, kneeling by the Skull Servant. (ATK: 0/DEF: 2200)

"Now all Level 3 or lower Zombie type monsters can't be destroyed, except for her," he grabbed one of his last three cards. "And then I'll sacrifice my Skull Servant to summon up the Lich Lord, King of the Underworld!"

In the place of the Skull Servant came a skeleton looking creature wearing a red robe and a scepter with a red jewel on top. (ATK: 2400/DEF: 1200)

"I had to Tribute Summon him with a Dark monster, which Skull Servant so kindly was." He smirked. "Now attack Asami's facedown monster!"

The Lich Lord laughed manically before he charged in and slammed the scepter down on the card, revealing a small knight on top of an equally small horse. (ATK: 900/DEF: 500)

Asami smirked, "Surprise, surprise, that's my little friend called Little Trooper!" She giggled. "Now when he's destroyed, I get to special summon a Level 2 or below Warrior monster from my deck to the field in facedown defense position."

She looked through her deck. "And I'll pick another Little Trooper." She said as a facedown card appeared on her field. "And now I activate my Soul Rope, which let's me pay 1000 life points to special summon a Level 4 monster from my deck..."

She turned to her partner, "You don't mind, do you?"

Alexis shook her head with a smile. "Go for it!" She assured.

Asami smiled and nodded back to her friend before she turned back to the duel. "Now I special summon my Obnoxious Celtic Guardian to the field in defense mode!"

Alexis/Asami: 3800

Pierre/Matthew: 6000

Asami's elf warrior appeared with his sword sheathed. (ATK: 1400/DEF: 1200)

"Nice," Chazz nodded. "Now that Lich Lord can't destroy it.

Matthew growled. "I place another facedown to end my turn!" He concluded, leaving him with one card in his hand and two facedown.

"Now its my turn,"

"And my trap activates, Needlebug Nest!" Matthew shouted. "Now I send the top five cards of my deck to the graveyard!" He did just that, confusing everyone present in the room.

"I see no way for him to benefit from that," Syrus stated.

"Me neither," Chazz shrugged.

"Every card is good for something." Jaden reminded.

Jason agreed.

Asami looked on suspiciously as she added her card to her hand, having four. "I don't know what your plan is, but I'm gonna activate Pot of Greed to let me draw twice."

She did as so, "Now I play Double Summon so I can summon twice this round..." she held two of her four cards. "And I pick my Mataza the Zapper and my D. Human!" She slapped the two cards on her disk.

The first monster was the green armor warrior she used in her match against Sara while the second as another elf like monster wearing a red robe with a sword in his hand. (ATK: 1300/DEF: 800) (ATK: 1300/DEF: 1100)

"And now I activate Cross Attack!" Asami revealed her spell card, which showed two ninjas striking fighting poses. "Now when I have two monsters with the same ATK points out, I select one, like my Zapper, and now he can attack you directly!"

"What!?" Both Pierre and Matthew shouted.

Jaden whistled in amazement. "Now that's a move," he said.

Jason couldn't have been more proud of his girlfriend, his smile as wide as he could have it.

"Impressive," Alexis smiled. "Where'd you get a card like that?"

Asami grinned, "Daddy sent it to me the other day." She turned back to the field. "Now my Zapper, attack Matthew directly!"

Her Zapper dashed past all her monsters quickly as he went to attack the boy.

"I don't think so, cherie!" Pierre smirked. "I play my Fairy Box trap card!" He pulled the coin out again. "Now I flip this coin and if I'm right, your monster's strength drops to zero for the turn!"

Matthew smirked, "Now that's a save," he turned to his companion. "Thanks."

"Oh it's my pleasure," Pierre smirked as he flipped the coin, "Tails," it was heads. "No problem," he smirked. "Thanks to Second Coin Toss, I get to try again!" He flipped. "Heads!"

Sadly, he was right as Asami's Zapper lost all its power. (ATK: 1300-0)

"Consider that payback for the burn damage from before."

Asami sighed sadly at all her work gone to waste. "I'll activate my Akashic Record to pick up two cards." She did so, getting Jacks Knight and Chaos Barrier Field. "I keep these and place one facedown." Her card appeared as her monster's strength came back. (ATK: 0-1300)

"She's really bummed out," Syrus noted.

"Her double attack would've put them ahead," Jaden added. "I would be bummed too."

Jason felt bad for Asami, but knew she tried her best and did what she could.

Pierre drew. "I pay 500 more points to keep my Fairy Box here..."

Alexis/Asami: 3800

Pierre/Matthew: 5500

"Now, I'll summon Sand Gambler in attack mode!"

A new monster, one that looked disturbingly like Pierre appeared between the Angel Bunnies. (ATK: 300/DEF: 1600)

"Like he needs a twin," Alexis muttered.

"See, with him on the field, I get to toss this coin," he held up the all-too-familiar gold coin, "And if it comes up heads three times in a row, all your monsters are fini! But, if I get tails, then all my monsters will bid you a fond au revoir,"

"Three heads?" Jaden tilted his head, "There's no way!"

"Technically..." Syrus slowly nodded, "He could,"

"As long as one of those coins stays tails after the use of Second Coin Toss, then Alexis and Asami are fine." Chazz said.

"Shall we, cherie?" Pierre flipped the coin.

It was heads.

"If I get two more, your beasts go bye!" he chuckled, flipping the coin again.

It was tails.

"Hold on, don't you forget my card," Pierre flipped the coin again as his Second Coin Toss card glowed a little bit.

Heads again.

"That makes two and..." Pierre flipped the coin for the final time.

Heads.

He smiled, "Third time's a charm. Who is the lucky one?"

"Not Lex," Jaden muttered.

"Not Asami either..." Chazz added.

Syrus shook his head, "No way..."

"Sand Gambler, do your thing! Destroy all her monsters!"

Pierre's monster counter-part glowed with a blue aura and everyone watched as Alexis' sheep tokens blew up, one by one.

Asami gasped at her partner being left open.

"I love it when things come together," Pierre chuckled as the smoke cleared, "Look at me! I'm unbeatable! Angel Bunny, attack directly!"

"I don't think so, Pierre," Alexis revealed her facedown. "I play Hallowed Life Barrier! By discarding a card, I take no battle damage for the turn."

"Lucky move," Pierre scoffed again, "All for 'nought!"

"We'll see about that!" Alexis drew her card and held it up, "I play the Spell card, Monster Reborn, which allows me to bring back a monster from my Graveyard and summon her to my field," she reached down and took a card, only to place it on the field, "Welcome back, Cyber Tutu!" she greeted as her ballerina monster reappeared, spinning on her toes. (ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000)

"That's not all!" she held up another card, "By sacrificing Cyber Tutu, I get to summon Cyber Prima!"

A new monster, one wearing a skintight gray catsuit appeared, a strange mask over her eyes, and her platinum locks flowing behind the red mask. (ATK: 2300/DEF: 1600)

"When she's tribute summoned, her special ability destroys all Spell cards on the field!"

Pierre watched in dismay as his Second Coin Toss was blasted into smithereens.

"Now, with only your Sand Gambler hanging around to defend you, and when I decide to attack you, it'll finally be my turn to say au revoir!" Alexis smiled confidently.

"Excuse'! I still have my Fairy Box Trap card!" Pierre reminded her, "If I choose my coin toss right one more time, no damage comes from you and then my Sand Gambler destroys your Prima!"

Alexis giggled a little bit, "It all comes down to this then... a single coin toss, because your Second Coin Toss was destroyed. I was wondering why you weren't using your second Gamble Angel Bunny's special ability. Then I got it... it was clear. You couldn't risk it, without your Second Coin Toss, you'd have lost every time!"

"Be quiet!" Pierre roared.

"You're not a winner," Alexis shook her head, "Pierre, you're not even a gambler! You're just a scared kid back in school. Now..." she pointed to the weakest monster on his field, "Cyber Prima, attack Sand Gambler!" she ordered.

Pierre stepped back as Cyber Prima created her own cyclone and quickly moved towards him. He gritted his teeth, "It comes down to this..." he flipped his coin high into the air and caught it, "Tails... please." he begged.

"Sorry, but if you play too much, the house will win, Pierre,"

Pierre looked down and was horrified that he had called the wrong coin side.

It was Heads.

"Cyber Prima, finish him off!"

The dancer executed a double chop to the Gambler, knocking him off the field.

Alexis/Asami: 3800

Pierre/Matthew: 3500

"Awesome!" Syrus cheered.

"They got the lead!" Chazz grinned.

"Nice play, Lexi!" Jaden cheered.

Alexis turned to give her boyfriend a thumbs up.

"Way to go, Pierre," Matthew growled.

"Just shut up and go!" Pierre snapped.

"Oh I will," he drew, now having two. He smirked. "Now its time I summoned the big bad of my deck!" He slapped the card on the disk as he smirked menacingly over to Asami. "Now its time to regain my pride!"

Rising up from the ground was another skeleton monster wearing a purple robe with his skull head out for the world to see. He moaned as he stared at Asami's field. (ATK: ?/DEF: 0)

"Isn't that King of the Skull Servants?" Chazz asked as he stared at the monster.

"Yep," Jaden nodded.

Jason did not like this monster.

"And now you're done, little Sami," he laughed.

Asami glared at him. "How? The most ATK points that thing can gain is 3000. We'll survive the round and I'll finish this on my next turn." She argued.

Matthew shook his head, "Dear, dear, Sami..."

"Stop calling me that!"

He ignored her, "The Wight monsters I've been playing? They count as Skull Servant when they're in the graveyard..." he explained. The room paled. "And with a Skull Servant, the Lady in Wight I sent to special summon him with One for One, the Wightmare I sent to bring back my Lady in Wight I removed from play, plus another Skull Servant and three Wightprince's I sent with Needlebug Nest."

"That's seven monsters!" Jaden exclaimed.

"So all together makes 7000!" Chazz added.

Jason knew he didn't like that monster.

The King of the Skull Servants glowed in a purple glow. (ATK: ?-7000)

"And then I'll sacrifice Lady in Wight to summon another Lich Lord!" A second copy of the skeleton lord appeared. (ATK: 2400/DEF: 1200)

"And when in the graveyard, Lady in Wight counts as Skull Servant." He continued to smirk as the power of the king rose. (ATK: 7000-8000)

"And although I could beat you right now, I think I'll activate the effect of my Wightprince from the graveyard!" Matthew continued. "Now by removing him and two Skull Servants, I get to special summon another King of the Skull Servants!"

He pocketed the cards as a second copy of the monster appeared. (ATK: ?-5000/DEF: 0) (ATK: 8000-5000)

"Now he has two monsters out with 5000 ATK points each!" Syrus exclaimed.

Matthew smirked as all attention was brought to his facedown from Round One. "I reveal Burial from the Different Dimension to return my three monsters to my graveyard!"

Asami and Alexis both gasped as the three monsters returned to the graveyard, boosting his Skull Servants power even more. (ATK: 5000-8000)×2

"Now they're 8000!" Syrus whimpered.

"Jesus," Chazz murmured.

Jason had his eye widened as far as he could get it.

"This guy can duel," Jaden acknowledged.

'Now's not the time to be looking for a challenge,' Yubel scolded as she appeared behind him.

'Where the hell have you been?' Jaden asked. 'You've been gone for awhile now.'

Yubel frowned, 'Please tell me you've sensed that dark energy that's been around lately.' Jaden had, but guessed that it was just Haou getting active again.

'He's only like that because of your Sacred Beasts quest,' Yubel heard what he was thinking. She shook her head, 'Anyway, I've been trying to find it and came up with nothing. It keeps moving around.'

'Well relax a little and get back to it later if its such a big deal.' Jaden offered. Yubel sighed but nodded her head as she disappeared back into his deck box.

He didn't know Chazz heard the whole thing.

'Jaden wants the Sacred Beasts!?'

Matthew grinned over at the wide eyed Asami, "This is for embarrassing me in front of the whole school with that duel!" He pointed forward. "Now attack her Mataza the Zapper and end this!"

Asami could only shake her head, "You just proved something to me..." she said as the attack was being prepared.

"And what's that?" Matthew uninterestingly asked.

"You're so clouded with anger and hatred to me just because I beat you in one duel,"

"I already knew that! Try racking that pretty little head of yours for something I don't know!"

Asami sighed, "You didn't let me finish," she looked at him. "You hate me for something as stupid as beating you in a duel, when I don't hate you for embarrassing me."

Matthew frowned, "That story you told surely made it sound like that." He said.

"I was upset, yes, but who wouldn't be? What I'm trying to say is that coming here to duel me for revenge and hating my victory so much shows that you're the pathetic one."

Matthew growled.

"Sure I may have wanted to get revenge on you too, but I realized that revenge isn't good for anyone. I only wanted to duel you back then so I can move on."

Asami smiled, "And you're need for getting revenge made you miss my facedown card..."

"What!?"

"Activate Chaos Barrier Field!"

The King of the Skull Servant's attack stopped.

"When you declare an attack with two or more monsters on your field in attack mode, the attack is cancelled and the monster with the highest and lowest attack battle."

She smiled. "And with two monsters with 8000 and 2400 ATK points respectively, it doesn't matter..."

"We win..." Alexis grinned.

Matthew and Pierre gasped as the King of the Skull Servants turned around and launched his purple beam attack to one of the Lich Lords, vaporizing it into nothingness.

Alexis/Asami: 3800 (Winner)

Pierre/Matthew: 0

The spectators cheered for Alexis and Asami's victory.

"That's our girls!" Jaden cheered as he slugged an arm around Jason's shoulder and pointed forward, watching as the two girls hugged one another in joy for their victory.

Pierre fell to one knee as his bunnies and Matthew's skeletons disappeared from the field, "You just got lucky!" he yelled, not wanting to admit defeat, "Femme fatale,"

Alexis let go of Asami to look at Pierre, "Pierre, I beat you because I don't believe in luck," Alexis explained as her disk deactivated, "I work hard, and I play even harder. That's why I won! Luck is a loser's excuse!"

As Alexis turned and walked away, Pierre bowed his head and pulled out the red scarf from his pocket, "I'm sorry, desiree, but the only reason I wanted to duel you... is because I am in love with you,"

Alexis stopped in mid-step, her eyes widening a little.

Jaden narrowed his eyes and growled. 'Oh hell no...' he started to stomp over to where Alexis was.

"I thought if I beat you, that maybe you would fall in love with me, Alexis..."

The Queen of Obelisk Blue turned around just in time to catch her mother's red scarf, which Pierre had tossed seconds before.

"I guess this is farewell," Pierre sighed, but quickly brightened, "Unless of course, you would want to come with me? Please?"

Alexis shook her head as she tucked the scarf into her pocket, "No... I already have someone..." she very well heard Jaden's growl and started leaning back when she felt he had enough time to get to her. Like she timed it, Jaden caught and embraced her.

Pierre sighed again, "Very well... adieu," he turned and began to walk away.

Asami turned to Matthew, who was standing up still and staring at her. "Aren't you gonna accuse me of cheating?" She asked, remembering how their last duel ended.

Much to her surprise, he shook his head. "No. You won fair and square, both now and before. I guess since I always got what I wanted in life, I never learned how to lose..."

He smiled at her, "I'm sorry for everything I said to you, especially when I turned you down when you asked me out." He looked her up and down. "I see what a mistake I made. You're a great girl and you deserve happiness."

Asami had to smile just a little bit when she felt Jason walk up and wrap his arms around her waist, feeling his lips press against the back of her head.

He waved, "See ya..." he started walking away.

Jaden looked at the scarf Alexis had just gotten back. "Its as beautiful as you," she said before she smiled and pecked him on the lips.

"Time to hit the sack," Chazz stretched his arms out. "Its been an eventful night."

No one argued.

Chazz did however glance at Jaden suspiciously as they all left.

'What do you want with the Sacred Beasts, Jaden?'

End of Chapter 36 of Supreme King Jaden

That scarf Alexis has will become an important symbol for Jaden and Alexis in the spin off, so remember it.

Writing this duel made me want a 'Wight' deck.

Our girls are badass both separate and together.

And Chazz now knows what Jaden's up to with the Sacred Beasts. But he might not have the time to do anything about it since the final Shadow Rider is gonna strike.

And some terrific news. I'm four and a half chapters ahead for this story. In other words, the next four chapters are ready to go and half of the fifth is finished. That doesn't mean all are coming up at once. I don't wanna spam with updates.

Give you guys time to read and digest a new chapter before the next one comes.
