Angel of Death

Chapter 36
Yuma, Rio, Nagisa, Kaede, Yukiko and Manami were at the library using Yuma's reservation ticket.
"What have we here? Why if it isn't all of you from class E!" Teppei said as he, Tomoya, Ren and Natsuhiko were in the library. "What a waste. For you, this library is like casting pearls before swine, isn't it?"
"...You do realize there is only six of us right? Not the whole class" Rio said with a bored look.
"Of all people, too run into the five virtuosos we just heard about..." Kaede thought.
However Rio was having a small dilemma within herself. "Why are they posing? Are they that self absorbed?" She really wanted to call them out on it but then she saw Natsuhiko's face. Her inner troublemaker was stirring. What should she say? Should she say it? Well she would but it might get the others kicked out.
A very hard choice.
On one shoulder was a chibi Karma with devil horns. "Say he's been hit by a firetruck!" Chibi Devil Karma said. Rio looked, rather glanced, to her other shoulder was a chibi Nagataka with a halo.
"Say that he been trampled in a buffalo stampede!" Chibi Angel Nagataka said.
"I thought angels were supposed to be the voice of reason while the devil tempts me?"
Chibi Angel Nagataka shrugged. "Not all angels are good" He told her.
"Move it squirts" Tomoya said shooing them away with his hand, but it did nothing. "Those are our seats, so go scoot on home"
"Wh-What's with you!" Kaede said. "We're studying here, so could you kindly not butt in?!"
"Kaede, he can see what you're reading..." Nagisa trailed off as Kaede was actually reading a book called Puddings of the World.
"We made all the arrangements to reserve these seats" Yuma said, they weren't actually in there for long and still had plenty of time left.
"Yup that's right" Rio nodded as she rested her head on the table. "Studying with AC after all this time is absolutely heavenly"
"You lot really have shitty memories, huh" Natsuhiko said as he pushed up his glasses. "In this school, Class E can't oppose Class A! 'Cause your grades suck!"
"W-We can too oppose you!" Manami shot back.
"...What?"
"We're aiming to take the top spot in all subjects on the next exam!" She said. "And then we won't let you just walk around like you own the place"
"Talking back to me, what a brazen woman. Not to mention that you look like a hick wearing those glasses" Natsuhiko then turned to Teppei. "Gishishishi, right Teppei?"
"S-Sure Natsuhiko..." Teppei replied.
"Look who's talking" They all thought and yes even the other virtuosos...
"If you only speak disparagingly, you will overlook what lies before you, Natsu" Ren said. "Behold, even a dunghill has its jewels"
Ren then faced Yukiko, the one he was talking about. "Such a waste...if only you were better at academics, you would suit me perfectly" He said. "Won't you come serve our household as a maid?"
"N-No, that's..." Yukiko replied not liking what was happening.
"Poor Yukiko"
"...She has absolutely no luck with men..."
"...Wait, hold on a second..." Natsuhiko said. "If memory serves me correctly, saying that they all of them are unconditionally bad at academics isn't quite right"
"Yukiko Kanzaki, ranked twenty-third in Japanese on the midterm exams"
"Yuma Isogai, ranked fourteen in social studies"
"Rio Nakamura, ranked eleventh in English"
"Manami Okuda, ranked seventeenth in science"
"However I don't see the one ranked first beating our leader here" Ren said as he flicked his hair. "I was looking forward to meeting him"
"Now that you mention it, the one who beat Gakushu isn't here..." Natsuhiko said before turning back to Manami. "If it's just one subject we're talking about...the ones you'd probably be against are all gathered up right here"
'Interesting, well then, how about this?" Teppei asked. "Whichever of our two classes has the higher number of top spots in the five subjects can order the losing class to do anything"
"What's the matter? You suddenly clam up 'cause you're scared?" Tomoya asked. "What, you're only confident in your big mouths?"
"If you'd like we can even stake our lives on the line" One Tomoya said that a pen was near his throat, a ruler near Natsuhiko's throat, a finger poking at Teppei's throat and another pen at Ren's throat.
"I don't think you should be so quick to offer up your lives" Nagisa said.
"F-Fine! This contest is on!" He said as the four left quickly. "I'm gonna give you an order so nasty that you'll wish you were dead!"
As the four left then went back to their own class, where they saw Gakushu waiting for them. Word spread fast as Gakushu informed them of the spreading rumor.
"There's a rumor going around that you've made a wager with Class E" Gakushu said as the four other Virtuosos members looked nervous. "The class which takes the top spot in more subjects can order the losing class to do whatever they'd like, right?"
"S-Sorry, Gakushu" Tomoya said nervously. "I thought it was a pointless bet, but, well th-those class E guys came charging at us, so..."
"I don't really see a problem with it" The leader of the five Virtuosos said. "They'll be under far more pressure than we will. Still, we should make the rules perfectly clear. It would certainly be a pain to have complaints after the fact"
"How about this: The winning class may give only one order. That order will be announced after the tests' completion" Gakushu said. "Please pass that along to class E"
"Just one huh...that's a bit disappointing" Natsuhiko sighed. "Have you considered the risks of losing, Gakushu?"
"So, what shall we go with for our order?" Asked Ren as Gakushu brought up the order on a laptop.
"Accept this agreement, that is all"
The four's eyes widened as the read the order.
Class E will line up at the school gate in the morning and greeting Class A with a smile as they arrive.
In school, Class E will use "-san" in regards to Class A, and, if ordered to carry materials, assist Class A in their studies, etc., will do so without question.
In regards to setting up equipment for school-wide events, Class E will handle all aspects that would be Class A's responsibility.
In the afternoon, Class E will serve as waiters in the main building's cafeteria and will acquire Class A's desired menu without fail.
Class E will learn one art per week and will perform it in front of Class A. They will move on to study more advanced arts depending on Class A's evaluation of their performance.
"Class E will swear subordination to class A through the agreement's fifty clauses" Number two said. "In exchange, class A will provide class E with guidance on how to be a proper student. It's a win-win situation"
"Class E putting on a show for Class A once a week?!" Natsuhiko then started laughing. "Gishasha! Win-win my ass, they're gonna be servants!"
"Did you come up with all of this on the spur of the moment, Gakushu?" Ren asked. "That's frightening"
"Frightening? It isn't such a big deal" Gakushu smiled. "This is just a little game that falls within the boundaries of fellow students governing themselves. I have a good grasp of civil law, so if I get serious, I can even create a contract designed to crush people"
Ren shuddered as Gakushu stood up and addressed the class. "Everyone, what I wish to convey through this is: if we're going to do this, we'll play for keeps. No matter the opponent, we shall face them with all our strength! That is the duty of our class A, which shines down upon everyone!"
"Gakushu Asano, a guy who uses lip service to unite everyone. Behind the hollow words and refreshing smile lie sinister schemes and a desire to control. Everyone had a vague understanding of that, but follow hi in a frenzy all the same...those with power and charisma can turn hollow words into righteousness, thinking things like 'if we believe in and follow him, we will win' like sheep...There is no doubt that he is the chairman's son, and the one who exemplifies the A in our A-as-in-Ace Class which is the exact opposite of E-as-in-End Class" Kimiko sighed resting on her arm as her class got caught up in the 'excitement' of the whole thing.
Ever since the basketball game between Class E and the opening of Kimiko's eyes, she began to change. She started pushing the male student population away from her due to them only liking her breasts and especially in basketball practice, she even went so far to get the team's coach, to ban male students from the indoor basketball court during practice.
She was becoming harder for guys to approach including Ren and slowly becoming a role model for other female students and would probably gain the title of Ice Queen or something.
"I wonder how your going to deal with this Kaede" She thought to herself as she ignored the rest of the class.
Karma yawned as Korosensei began to scold him. "Hey Karma-kun! Please take your studies seriously!" The octopus scolded. "You could aim for the top composite score easily enough!"
"I'd be able to get it even without you saying anything, thanks to your teaching methods" Karma said removing the book from his face. "But y'know, lately you've been going about 'taking the top score' and you're becoming as shitty and boring as any normal teacher. That aside, what are you planning to do?"
"I'm betting those conditions class A set in place have some sort of hidden trick to them"
However the class seemed focused on what their order would be instead.
"Nurufufufu" The walking Takoyaki laughed as his feelers were on Nagataka's shoulders. "Look no further, after receiving the Class A demands, Nagataka here created one in a similar fashion"
Korosensei's smiled grew larger. "Of course I helped out too!"
"Sure" Nagataka said sarcastically. "Like the one about Class A handing over all the sweets?"
Korosensei went stiff. "O-Of course not!"
Nagataka sighed as he turned to Ritsu. "Bring it up please"
Ritsu then brought up Class E's demands and as they read it, their eyes widened at one of the orders er demands. "If your all happy with this, I'll send it immediately" The class all agreed to the contract that was to be sent to Class A. "And there it goes"
Gakuho walked through a room where many teachers slaved over computers creating the exam questions. "I'd like to request that all of you third year subject teachers be sure to make the questions much harder than those on the midterms. Of course, the grading will be fair and definitive" The board chairman said. "Gakushu is using class E to create the mood of an epic showdown. In my school, that really has no correlation with the improvement of grades"
"Be at ease, board chairman" One of the teachers said. "There are hardly any students who will able to answer these questions to my satisfaction"
"These are already no longer 'questions' sir. It would be more accurate to call them 'problem behemoths' instead"
"Very good. I look forward to the end result"
Gakushu was currently sitting in the dark classroom overlooking the contract he had received while also looking over the one he made.
"Something quite simple has been lost amidst the extremity of all the rest" He thought as one of the clauses was as follows: If Class A asks Class E a question, they will answer truthfully without holding anything back. "The suppression of Class E's secret, it might seem insignificant compared to the other items on the list but, therein lies my true goal"
"If my dear old dad is hiding something of importance concerning Class E, I will reveal whatever it is if I use this clause and shake those Class E guys up a bit" Gakushu smirked. "Once I have their weakness in my clutches, I will control them! You see, dear old dad, it's all because I am your son"
He then looked over the Class E clauses. "It seems whoever wrote this up, also had a similar idea. The same as ours, just one order but has multiple parts of that one order" Gakushu closed the laptop as he picked it up and started to leave. "This just makes me want to win more"
To sum up Class E's demand, it literally said at the top of the list: to save you time to read which must be hard for you, become Class E's slaves. A slaves follows orders right? You did lose a bet.
Plus some of the clauses would damage Class A and maybe some of the other classes.
"FINAL EXAMS WHICH COMBINE THEIR INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES! VICTORY FOR ONE PERSON MEANS DEFEAT FOR ANOTHER! EACH AND EVERY ONE SEEKS VICTORY FOR THEMSELVES AND THEN, THE TEST DATE ARRIVED!" Kazutaka narrated...out of the blue..and from...somewhere? Or rather nowhere...
"So how about it Nagisa? You all set for this?" Rio asked as they headed towards the classroom for the exams.
"Well, if I'm right about what's gonna be on the test, I think so" He replied before he jumped as Rio literally smacked his arse.
"You've gotta keep your back straight if you're a man!" She just smiled cheerfully. "I mean you're aiming for a top spot in English too, after all"
"Oh man, this's gonna be good" The voice of tweedledum said whose name was actually Nobuta Tanaka. "I heard you made a reckless wager with class A?"
"I wonder what sort of things they'll make you do when you lose~" Chosuke Takada or rather tweedledee said with his arm around tweedledum.
"...I knew you two were lovers" Nagataka said causing the two to freak out. This allowed Rio to walk other, stick two pencils up tweedledum's nose and pretty much did a uppercut breaking the two pencils.
"Well then, this room's our testing spot" She said as she noticed someone already in the room. "Oh, someone's already here"
"Who the heck?" They all thought.
"It's Ritsu's proxy" Karasuma said making himself known. "As expected the chairman won't allow an AI to participate in the tests. Somehow or other, they settled on using a substitute who Ritsu had taught in an online classroom"
"Durig the negotiations, the board chairman said 'this man certainly has it rough, as well' all while looking over at me with pity in his eyes. Do you know how that make me feel?"
"You're truly an inspiration to us all!" They thought as they bowed.
"This applies to all of you, so pass this along to Ritsu as well: do your best"
"We will" Nagisa replied.
The bell rang as the students were handed the exam papers. "I won't lose" Gakushu thought. "I will continue to remain victorious over everyone"
"Even though this is a test that's taken individually be default, it feels like I am on the same stage as all sorts of other people. Those who are fighting at my side, those we are fighting against, our supporters and hecklers in the gallery. This is entirely as if we are assassins, and gladiators on top of that. Today, the gong calls us to battle!" Nagisa thought, they were no longer in a classroom, they were in a arena as the questions took on horrifying forms.
"This test will be fine" Korosensei thought as he had his feelers crossed. "When you're older, you're almost certain to forget information you crammed at the last minute, but that's alright. The experienced gained as a result of improving your abilities and broadening your knowledge under a uniform set of rules is a far greater treasure than the results themselves"
Nagisa jumped out of the way war-hammer wielding question that looked like a Minotaur with a skull head.
"It's much faster than the midterms!" Nagisa thought as the English question started charging something in its mouth before firing it as a laser beam made up of English words and letters. "In a combined middle/high school of this level, there's nothing unusual about starting to learn high school material in the final year of middle school. In our school, the pace is especially quick in English, Math and Science! But everyone taking the exam is in the same boat!"
"Everyone and their grandmother's getting beaten back by the last question, but I, Tomoya Seo, am different from the rest of you" Tomoya thought as he ran towards the last English question. "I spent a year in LA due to my parent's work. I learned plenty about the basics of conversation during that time. The vocabulary and grammar in these sentences are all within the scope of my abilities"
"LIKE HELL I'M GOING TO GET TRIPPED UP BY JAPAN'S MIDDLE SCHOOL-LEVEL ENGLISH!" Tomoya thought as he swung his own smaller war-hammer into the Minotaur...with no effect. "I can't defeat it? No way, that should be an absolutely perfect answer!?"
Rio ran past as she jumped up and hit the question in the forehead with the end on the war-hammer. "You're sure uptight, huh" Rio said with a smirk. "C'mon and relax a bit, honor student!"
"A perfect answer?! Even though she's in class E?!"
"I'm guessing you haven't read it, right?" She asked. "Salinger's 'catcher in the rye', I mean"
Nagisa held the war-hammer with two hands as he jumped and hit the Minotaur the same way as Rio. Another English question ran at Nagataka who swung the war-hammer with one hand hitting the Minotaur question in the leg causing it to fall to the ground as he rose the war-hammer before slamming it down on it's skull, smashing it to bits.
"Just what you'd expect of such a prestigious school. They sure came up with some good questions" Korosensei said as he read the questions...and had the audacity to answer all of them. "I expect they intend to include how much students have read and their ability to adapt as part of the grading standard. Perhaps you'll lose points if you don't answer in the sort of everyday language that matches the crude nature of the original work. Getting a perfect score here will be a huge factor in the battle for the top spot"
"Shit! The English teacher only recommended that novel in passing" Tomoya thought. "Still these Class E guys shouldn't know about it either, and yet..."
"You must not have any good friends overseas, like an octopus who enthusiastically recommends books, for example" Rio said as she remembered Korosensei recommending the book.
"You know sensei admires the sort of subtle rebellion in this book" Korosensei's voice repeated said. "Please be sure to read it in both languages. I think this will really hit home with adolescents like you"
After the English exams were over, it was now for the Science exams.
"Take that!" Natushiko said as lightning came from his wooden staff as it hit a science question that resembled a large knight. "Science is all about memorization! With these memory sparks, I'll strip away the enemy's armour piece by piece! However...I just peel away the strongest part covering its head. I'm sure I memorized everything perfectly, and yet..."
Natsuhiko stopped as he turned to see Manami ridding on the knight's shoulder as it's head changed. "Real science isn't enjoyed through memorization alone" She said as she tapped her staff on it's head as a flower like symbol appeared briefly. "If you can express in words that 'you understand why it is what it is', you'll make this science incredibly happy"
The science question had a big smile as it pulled off it's suit of armour and started skipping away. "Korosensei, lately, I've come to realize that even in science, you need language skills to get through to an opponent!"
As the skipping knight went past Nagataka raised a staff and fired a large bolt of lightning blasting it's helmet off before finishing it off with a large fireball to its unprotected face.
He turned to see a few other of his students get through the questions before heading to the next. Social Studies.
"I screwed up!" Teppei thought as he lied in a crater, with his sword destroyed. A large female spider-human with the head of the tank stood other him as Teppei was struggling in the crater. "I'd been checking this year's TICAD, but how an I supposed to know how many meetings the Prime Minister held?!"
Meanwhile Yuma just watched as the Social Studies question was crying. "Phew, that was a close one" He said. "I got it right once I remembered the symbol of the conference's importance"
Yuma sweat dropped as he saw the sight of Nagataka slash the queston to pieces, cutting off arms, legs and the tank's barrel. His sweat dropped increased as he watched Nagataka, Karma and Rio poke their swords at one of the questions that was on the ground.
"Yuma, you little...to think you'd best me on a social studies question" Teppei said.
"It wasn't on purpose" Yuma replied. "Since my family's pretty poor, I can sympathize with Africa's poverty a bit so I was looking up info on it when I was dragged along to the country itself, and that only increased my interest all the more..."
"Ku ku ku" The boring looking character said. "Don't get all full of yourself just because you answered one question. You know why?"
In Japanese Literature, Ren and Yukiko were each holding a Naginata.
"You're better than I thought you'd be E-Girl!" Ren said. "Your face is beautiful, but your words aren't that shabby, either! Still, this test won't be decided with the comprehension of one measly fragment! You need the strength to master the entire thing without losing any parts along the way!"
"And we will never let our place at the top be stolen from us. Our class has a monster of mastery in its midst"
Many students were getting cut down by the Japanese Lit questions that took the form of samurai. Nagataka swung his naginata cutting one of the samurai in half from the waist down before throwing the weapon like a javelin into the head of another samurai.
It was now time for the Mathematics exam.
"Math, huh" Gakushu thought as he passed the papers behind him. "So class E had Karma Akabane among them. His midterm grade in math was second only to mine, and he even placed fourth overall. For someone in Class E, that's outstanding"
"However, I have no blind spots in math or any other subject! I will control the class showdown and the battle for the top with a complete victory, and I will have Class E in my service as the key to ruling over my dad!" Gakushu's smirk died down a little. "But, there is one student in Class E that I need to beat, however this Nagataka is, I must defeat him as well in order to rule over my father"
"Oh my, the look in everyone's eyes sure has changed, huh" Karma said as he followed Gakushu into the arena.
"This sorta thing can't be called winning. Winning without a hitch under normal conditions, now that would be a flawless victory. That's the right way to do it. I'll use this guy as a sacrifice to teach that to everyone"
"THE TWO DAY LONG STRUGGLE REACHED IT'S END! THE CURTAIN FELL, BRINGING THE TESTS TO A CLOSE!"
"The assassination, the bet, everything would be decided by the number of correct marks!"
"AND THEN THREE DAYS LATER!"
"Well, everyone" Korosensei said to the class. "I've received the grades for all of your subjects"
It was now the moment of truth, who would score the top marks to shoot off a tentacle.
OMAKE
Korosensei's Mach 20
"Erosensei...we need a word" Nagataka said as Korosensei stopped from leaving the class and turned back to his students.
"Yes?"
"...There...has been a problem with your grading"
"W-What's that?"
"Ahem" Nagataka coughed as he held pieces of paper. "Let me read out a few of these small additions to the paper"
"My mach 20 is 3429 times faster than the Lesser Emperor Dragonfly, 135593 times faster than TORQ Roadster, the world's fastest 3-wheeled electric monster of a car, takes you 3.48 seconds to get from Tsurumi station to Totsuka station, 12000 times faster than the speed of a black mamba jumping at you, 1333333 times faster than the speed of falling sakura petals"
Nagataka looked up at the teacher. "Shall I go on?" He asked. "Honestly, it sounds like your just boasting about it..."
"T-That's not true!" Korosensei defended himself. "I-It's fun facts about my speed!"
Nagataka just stared at Korosensei who sweated.
"Your a bad liar..."
Korosensei looked down. "Sorry for boasting..." He mumbled.
"Good, now run along"
"Okay..."
The others sweat dropped, it was like watching a child being scolded bu their parents...
Another chapter, back from the dead! Well, not really dead...But hey, a update!
Sorry for the wait, I guess. Next chapter, the results!
