Marcus shot one of his hands out and the boy was surrounded by a glowing green forcefield. "I wouldn't shoot" Marcus said darkly, holding his injured shoulder. "It'll just come back at you." He didn't know if the boy had heard him. He was stiff as a board, his eyes glued to Marcus's shoulder. "Put down the gun" Marcus commanded. The boy shook his head. "I'm not going to hurt you" Marcus sighed. "And we need to get out of here before their friends coming looking for them."

"You're n-not bleeding" he stuttered. The android's eyebrows shot up. Sure enough there was a hole in his skin but nothing coming out. The boy was starting to calm down. "How are you surprised" he asked, incredulously.

"Sorry, new body" Marcus said. "I thought I was supposed to bleed fake blood but I guess he didn't put that in. Marcus let the forcefield fall, expecting the boy to run away.

"What do you mean knew body" he asked, the fear gone from his voice.

"I'd love to talk but I think it's best if you go." Marcus told him, turning to leave.

"No" The boy panicked. "They wanted to kill me" he gasped. Marcus nodded. "And they're not dead" he said, pointing to the unmoving bodies. "They'll remember me and come for me."

"Aw crap" Marcus groaned, throwing back his head. "Fine come with, but keep your mouth shut and do what I say."

"I'm not that kind of person" The boy stated.

"What's your name?" Marcus asked, realizing he didn't know anything about the boy other than he was Spanish and was in a gang.

"Niko" he said. "Now we better leave" He smirked. "Probably best if you move as fast as you were before. Marcus rose an eyebrow.

"You want me to super speed while carrying you." He asked.

"Yep!" Niko chuckled. "Now get a move on. Marcus glared at the boy but sighed.

"Get on my back" he grumbled. Niko was on him within a second making Marcus grunt. This was definitely going to be annoying until he found something to do with the kid.

"He's not here" Chase shouted up through the boulders. It had taken them hours and it was almost dark, but Adam had cleared enough rubble for Chase to slip down. The place was relatively intact. He's had to sift through some of the rubble but found nothing. That meant Jack had made it out alive.

"Chase I'm gonna pull you up" Adam shouted. Chase nodded even though Adam couldn't see him. His mind was in another place. Jack was alive but didn't come back. Marcus was missing and probably still hated him. And to top it all off he was standing in the exact spot where he had fought with Marcus. "Chase" Adam shouted again, piercing the darkness.

Chase didn't respond. He felt lost and alone. He loved Marcus, not just liked him, loved him. And now they have a chance to be together, not on the run, but in a home. He had his family back but did Marcus want that? He needed to find him. He needed to make things right.

"Chase" the voice screamed again, pulling him out of his trance.

"Coming" Chase called.

Jack breathed a sigh of relief as he entered his room. It had been a long day of training. April and Noah had been great. They were so fun to be around. It broke his heart to know he was going to betray them. Surprisingly he felt more at home here than he did with Adam, Bree, Chase and Marcus. Of course Noah was not even close to being as cute chase was, but that made it easier to think of him like a brother. He groaned leaning against his charger.

He'd been watching for weaknesses like he'd planned to, trying to find the best way to attack. But there didn't seem to be any. When one Bionic couldn't do something another was on standby to help. They worked in perfect harmony. He'd considered trying to create a revolt but Krane had messed with their heads. They thirst for blood. They're waiting for the kill with so much enthusiasm it terrified him. There were only a handful that didn't seem as enthusiastic. April and Noah were two of them. He knew his thought were going to be interrupted when he heard footsteps outside his door.

There was a soft nock and Jack immediately knew it was April. She was so gentle. He still had trouble believing she could kill on the drop of a dime.

"Come in" he called. April entered the dark room. She was in pajamas and her eyes were red. "April are you ok?" he asked rushing over to her. The door slammed with a bang making both of them jump. April shook her head.

"I had a nightmare." She whispered, holding her arms to her chest.

"I didn't know you could dream" Jack said, surprised. He never dreamed. April frowned at him.

"Can I stay here tonight?" she asked.

"I don't have a bed" Jack told her. April's eyes began to water.

"I just don't want to be alone" she told him. Jack sighed and jestered her to sit against the wall with him.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Jack asked after a long silence. He didn't expect her to respond, let alone agree but she did.

"We were fighting" she said, her voice soft. "There was fighting everywhere. All I could hear was screams. They begged for us to stop but we didn't. I was watching myself kill one after another after another." She shivered. Jack put his arms around her. "I couldn't stop myself. I couldn't stop killing…. I liked it" she added in a whisper. "I've had dreams like this before but I never felt happy" she whimpered. Tears began to steam down her eyes. "I don't want to kill. I don't want to feel like that." Jack tightened his hold on her.

"You don't have to kill" Jack whispered to her. "And I know you didn't like it. You wouldn't be here if you'd liked it." April wiped her eyes and looked up at him. He smiled down at her.

"No" she said, her voice hard and angry. "I have to kill or I'll die. He'll kill me. He'd kill us all."

"I won't let that happen" Jack told her. They fell silent and the time ticked by.

"Why are you here?" April asked, staring up at him with those huge puppy dog eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"You don't want to kill" she said. "I can tell. Why are you here?" Jack stiffened and looked away. He couldn't tell her. She can't know he was going to betray her. "They're alive, aren't they?" she asked, her voice turning soft again. "You want to protect them."

"They couldn't have survived" Jack said roughly. April shook her head.

"Mr. Krane thinks they might be alive" she told him causing his body to stiffen again. "We would have attacked by now if he thought they were dead."

"I don't think so" Jack said, the lie evident in his voice.

"It's ok" she whispered, cuddling into his touch. "I won't tell anyone."

"Do you think the others know?" he asked. April shook her head. I think Noah does but the others can be kind of stupid. All they can think about is getting ready for the attack." She shivered and Jack knew she was thinking about her dream. "I'll protect you" he said lightly. April began to cry, no longer silent. She whimpered as the tears streamed down her face, staining Jack's shirt. The android sat, holding her. Things had just gotten a lot more complicated.
