Summary: Percy was just a normal boy, living with his hard-working mother and abusive stepfather. Normally, Percy only spend the obligatory one weekend a month with his dad. Percy yawned as he was sprawled out on his bed, head hanging upside down from the bed. Leo, Bianca and Rachel were spread out on his room too, Leo having his head resting on Percy's stomach while Bianca and Rachel sat opposite the bed on the small couch Percy had in his room.
"It's way too hot to rehearse", complained Leo. "I just wanna eat ice-cream and nap."
"Yeah, but no... we have to rehearse. The play is in four days", chided Bianca.
"But we could really do with some more ice-cream", hummed Rachel. "Percy. Get ice-cream."
"Why me—e?", groaned Percy and threw a pillow at Rachel.
"It's your house", huffed Rachel and threw the pillow right back at him.
Grumbling to himself, Percy got up and left his room to go and get ice-cream. It was mercilessly hot today, even though it was still just spring. But the play was coming up and they really needed for it to be perfect. He was humming to himself as he entered the kitchen, where Kym and Amy were in the middle of preparing a couple sandwiches for themselves.
"O—Oh. Can I steal one?", asked Percy as he sniffed the air. "Bacon sandwiches."
"You gotta make your own sandwiches", grumbled Kym, glaring at her little brother just to be faced with the large, innocent begging kitten-eyes. "...Urgh. Fine. Half a sandwich."
"Tha—ank you, best big sister on the planet", chimed Percy and grabbed half a sandwich.
"Don't let Benthesikyme and Rhode hear you", warned Amphitrite amused.
Percy hummed around his mouthful of bacon-sandwich."I won't. Thanks for the sandwich, Kym."
Kym huffed and hip-checked Percy. "Don't tell them either. Otherwise I'll have to share my food with the others too and I don't do that. You just... you do the eyes-thing so well. That's all."
"Su—ure", chimed Percy as he finished the sandwich and licked his fingers. "So, do we still got any ice-cream left, or has Benthy devoured it all...?"
"You gotta check, but don't touch the chocolate-mint. I bought that particularly for your father and he is... definitely going to need it after the council meeting today", replied Amy.
"Why? Council meetings that bad?", asked Percy with a frown.
"Well... sometimes", drawled Amphitrite vaguely. "It can be exhausting, having so many people with so many different opinions in one room, not agreeing on anything..."
"Why do you need ice-cream? I thought you guys were seriously rehearsing upstairs", grunted Kymopoleia suspiciously. "You're not just lazying about eating ice-cream, right?"
"No. We are rehearsing. But it's also hot as hell so we need something to boost our concentration. Namely – oh, the good stuff! Cookie-dough!", yelped Percy excitedly. "And it's still sealed. How?"
"...How indeed", hummed Amphitrite with a frown. "That barely survives the drive home..."
"Well then, I'll be stealing this", chimed Percy and grabbed four spoons. "See you later!"
He skipped upstairs with the ice-cream and the spoons to find his friends. All three made appreciative noises as they all crowded in on the bed to share the ice-cream. While eating, they gossiped about what was going on at school and, fully re-energized, they went back to rehearsing.

"I'm torn between being impressed by how good you look or annoyed that you look better in a dress than I do", huffed Calypso amused as she looked Percy up and down.
"Ah, but Paris, isn't all of this why you wanna marry me?", asked Percy teasingly.
Calypso chuckled and shook her head. "You want stupid Romeo instead, so there's that."
"Someone called me?", chimed Rachel in, smirking broadly.
"Oh Romeo, oh Romeo", gasped Percy and collapsed forward into Rachel's arms.
Rachel grinned and pulled Percy close. "Looking hella fine, Juliet. Wanna ditch this joint and run away to Vegas together to get married? Mercutio will drive the getaway car."
"No rewrites to the play! You will stick to the script or I swear, I will shove-", started Malcolm.
"Malcolm! Mal, calm down", interrupted Katie gently, grabbing her boyfriend. "Come with me. Let your stars live. Shoving anything anywhere this short before the play will not help."
"Does this dress make me look fat?", asked Leo as he walked past Malcolm and Katie.
"No, it doesn't. Red is totally your color. You look beautiful. And your hair looks amazing", sighed Calypso with a smile. "You look wonderful, no need to feel self-conscious."
"Yeah, my dearest, most trusted nurse", agreed Percy with a grin, wrapping his arms around Leo.
"You're in a really chipper mood, Juliet", commented Bianca as she approached them.
"Ye—ep", chimed Percy. "I know all my lines. I get to play with my friends. It's all fun."
"Good", smiled Bianca. "You were so nervous two weeks ago that I was afraid you'd suffer from stage-fright this short of the play. But you seem more than fine."
"I am", confirmed Percy. "Totally fine. Thanks for asking."
And he actually was. The swim race had somehow really calmed his nerves down. He had won the race, everyone had supported him – and deep down, he knew that even if they had lost, everyone would have supported him. So, this play, even if he would screw up, Annabeth would be there to feed him his lines, everyone was prepared to jump in and help out if anyone lost their plot. Even if Percy completely froze on stage, his friends would push and help him along. And playing was so much fun. He loved it, he loved pretending to be someone he wasn't and having fun with his friends.
"Well then, let the show begin", declared Rachel and took a deep breath. "Ready, Juliet?"
"Ready, Romeo", confirmed Percy with a smile, taking her hand.

Nico blushed and tried to tune down the ridiculous grin on his face, though when he turned some, Sally was smiling fondly at him and not teasingly. "I... I helped him rehearse a lot and I know he's amazing in this and I am just... so proud of him... He's been looking forward to it so much..."
"It's okay, sweetie", laughed Sally gently. "I appreciate that Percy has found someone as dedicated and supportive like you, Nico. You're... I know that you are very important to him and that your support means a lot to him. You really don't need to be embarrassed of that."
Thankfully, Nico was saved from a reply by the curtain rising and the play starting. Honestly, in all of his decades, he had never quite gotten the hang of Shakespeare. It just... wasn't his. He preferred a solid science fiction or steampunk novel over the cheesy old stuff, but the play had a really strong selling point: Percy Jackson in a dress. And just how good Percy looked in the dress and wig.
"Nico? Nico, you're actively drooling", whispered Hazel next to him, elbowing him with a grin. "Come on. I can keep it together despite Leo in a pretty dress too. And he looks so good."
Nico grumbled and crossed his arms, concentrating on the play instead. He admired how Percy seemed like he was actually having a lot of fun. That was good. After how stressed Percy had been before the swim race, with not just the race but also the play on his mind, part of Nico had been worried that Percy would lose joy in the play due to the pressure he put on himself. But apparently, all the support he had gotten during the race had helped him see things in perspective.
"This is actually fun", hummed Nico in appreciation. "Beyond the pretty Percy in a dress."
Hazel laughed and nudged him a little. "It really is fun. Didn't expect them to do so good."
"It's fascinating to see Bianca so funny though, she always seems so... serious", mused Sally.
"In the fifties, she was a movie star", replied Nico casually. "There's one or two obscure black and white movies she stared in. I do have copies, if you're interested."
"Sometimes, I forget how old you are", whispered Sally surprised. "I'd love to see those! Yes! You and Percy should come over for movie night next weekend, how does that sound?"
"That... sounds wonderful", agreed Nico, nodding slowly and smiling.
"For now, can we go and congratulate our stars?", asked Hazel, clapping loudly.
Everyone was standing, clapping loudly and whistling as the drama club was standing on the stage, bowing and smiling brightly. The play really had been a lot of fun and amazing and Nico could not wait to steal his boyfriend away today. Which was something that was definitely happening.
"You were amazing, sweetheart!", exclaimed Sally as she hugged Percy.
"Yes! My boy, the next big movie star!", agreed Poseidon, hugging Percy from the other side.
Nico couldn't help but sneak a picture, because Percy looked overwhelmingly happy as he was sandwiched between his parents and showered with praise. Nico grunted as he was knocked out of the way by Tyson, who jumped Percy in utter excitement.
"Lion cub, you were breathtaking", commented Hazel as she and Frank stole Leo.
Frank smiled broadly as he handed over roses to their boyfriend. "Yes. You were amazing."
"Listen, guys, Silena is throwing a party for the cast, I can go, right?", asked Percy hopefully.
"Well, it is Friday and you have worked hard for this", drawled Poseidon, turning toward Silena.
Silena smiled broadly. "He can crash at my place, coach. He won't have to find his way back home late at night. We'll make it a slumber-party."

Nico looked around a little unimpressed, seeing everyone in pajamas, eating sweets and popcorn and watching Titanic. He had returned home with his family before joining the others. Piper was snugly stuck between Chris and Clarisse, Travis and Connor were sharing an arm-chair, Leo was cuddling with both Percy and Mitchell, while Annabeth was sitting with Silena and Rachel. Bianca and Calypso had also abandoned the coven in favor of being with their fellow drama nerds. Jason and Malcolm came from the kitchen, carrying large bowls with pop-corn in.
"When I say I throw a slumber-party, I throw a slumber-party, Nico", chimed Silena. "And we all deserved some Leo – not you, little dragon. The di Caprio."
"We watched Romeo + Juliet", tagged Percy on. "And then we figured we'd stay on the Leo."
"How much more time should I have wasted to get to a good movie?", drawled Nico.
"We're gonna watch Catch Me If You Can next", assured Percy. "Now come here, Dracula."
Nico huffed as he slipped in behind Percy and cuddled up to his boyfriend. For a while they watched in semi-silence – major conversations about the movie were happening all around, but Nico and Percy didn't talk to each other at first. Only after a while did Nico lean down.

"Well, I was just thinking... Amy is taking Tyson to the birthday party of one of Ty's friends, Proteus, Benthy and Kym went to spend the weekend with their respective partners. Dad is at work and Rhode and Triton actually had plans for today too... after I suggested for them to make plans."
"Why would you do that?", asked Nico, now even more confused.
"He wants to take you ho—ome with hi—im", groaned Leo annoyed and hit Nico with a pillow in the face. "Because you two would be all alone there. Seriously, do I have to spell it out?"
Nico's eyes widened and Percy's cheeks turned dark-red. Nico looked around, noting that aside from them and Leo, everyone else was seemingly still asleep. So Percy wanted to take him home? Really? Judging by the bright blush on Percy's cheeks, that was the plan indeed.
"I mean...", whispered Percy, blush intensifying. "I had... kind of... planned on taking you home today. Yes. I figured we could sneak out here together and... you know..."

"Let him get changed first?", suggested Leo with a deadpan.

Percy laughed and kissed Nico's cheek before he hurried to the bathroom to get changed. When he returned, he pressed one finger against his lips and motioned for Nico to follow him. Leo lazily waved them off, face still buried in the pillow beneath him.
"Let's get going", chimed Percy as they climbed onto Nico's motorbike.

Nico hummed in agreement as he got rid of the used condom and grabbed a shirt from nearby to clean Percy up some, dumping both on the ground. Percy smiled contently as he snuggled more up to his boyfriend, gently kissing Nico's cheek.
"I love you, Nico", whispered Percy, nosing Nico's neck. "I really, really love you."
"I love you too, Percy", replied Nico, a tad bit confused by the intensity of the declaration.
"No. You don't... understand how much", sighed Percy, resting his chin on Nico's chest and staring at him. "You have no idea how much you've been helping me. Supporting me, with the race and the play, with the... the self-harm. That you're not trying to force me to do what you want, force me to stop, but offering me to... be there for me. You're not pushy. Not just with the sex, but with... everything. You accept me and my pace. And I... I really truly love you for it."
"Percy, I love you. I truly love you too", assured Nico, grasping Percy's hand and kissing it, the light catching on the ruby on Nico's ring. "That's why we're courting. Because I mean it. I do want to spend eternity with you. I will always support you, with everything. And I will always help you, through whatever you are going through. Even if you might think it's silly, I will be there for you."
Percy blushed intensely at that, blinking slowly. Eternity. That was what they had ahead of them, both of them being immortal. And while the thought of eternity was scary and Percy knew he couldn't judge their relationship by a couple of months alone, the thought of having this kind of support and love in his life for eternity... that was a pretty nice thought.
"So... since I totally can't feel my legs, you'll make breakfast, right?", asked Percy with a grin.
"Only because I love you", sighed Nico amused, kissing Percy once more.

Secondly, question: Since this is 34/40, how'd you feel about me bumping the chapter count up again? Is this running dry and you actually want to see it end, or do you want to see, say, Percy meeting Nyx and Percy and Nico going to college, starting their own life...? More introduction into the political side of this world, aka the council meetings and all?
Oh and for those who were so afraid Drew would do something. I mean. She's not an idiot. Not during a race, or when she knows all eyes will be on Percy for the play. Now that the play and race are ooover... weeell... *wink wink, nudge nudge*
