Dangerous Liaisons

It was the same night that Elena had to kill Alaric that Elena, Rachel, and Matt all brought the history teacher into the hospital after he woke up for observation by the doctors. Elena and Matt waited outside while Rachel talked to Meredith about Alaric's condition. When she stepped out, they both walked over to her.

"How is he?" Elena asked, breathless. Matt waited for the answer as well.

"He'll be fine," Rachel assured the humans. "Meredith wants him to spend the night in observation…but she said that we need to start changing the locks," Rachel pointed out to Elena, slipping her hands into her back pocket and giving a nervous laugh.

The three of them began walking, and that's when Elena spoke again. "I talked to Bonnie earlier," she informed Rachel. "She and her mom are fine."

"Did you talk to Caroline?"

"Yeah," Matt answered this time. "She's…holding it together. Considering…how close she and her dad used to be." He looked over at Elena and Rachel at the same time. "Do we at least know who's behind all of these attacks?"

"No." Rachel shook her head. "Besides Elena's fingerprints, they haven't found anything. No suspects at all except for Meredith, but…you know, she called Elena earlier and told her that her alibi checks out."

"How are you dealing with everything?" Elena asked Matt as the three of them walked outside of the hospital to resign for the night in spite of Alaric's condition. "I mean, you keep getting dragged into all of this, Matt."

"Honestly," he breathed, "I'm kind of lucky. The only thing that I have to worry about for tomorrow is showing up for my shift at the Grill."

Rachel sighed. "If life was only that simple," she commented before sighing again and turning to Elena. "I'll go get the car." Elena nodded at the statement and Rachel walked in the other direction after saying goodbye to Matt, leaving the two humans alone with each other. She parked her car in the front of the hospital, though Matt parked his in the back. Rachel walked in the cold air to her car and unlocked it with two sounding beeps.

Just as she was about to open the door to the driver's seat, she felt another presence among her, and she stopped cold. Using her speed, she flashed around, only to be knocked back into the car by a force that kept its hold on her neck.

And she knew exactly who it was.

"Rebekah," she warned through her teeth and limited air.

"Surprised?" the Original spat at her. "You drove a dagger through my back, Rachel, it hurt."

With what little strength she had, she managed to somehow force Rebekah off of her, but the blonde-haired Original recoiled obviously. Though she panted and faced Rebekah right in the eye, only a few feet separating them as they circled each other, she managed to speak. "I was going to pull it out the second we killed Klaus, Rebekah, believe me."

"And that's supposed to make it better?" Rebekah challenged. Rachel swallowed hard, but Rebekah only laughed. "I am quite surprised, though. Managed to force me off of you, that was nice." She narrowed her eyes. "Have you been practicing with Damon?"

"I said I was sorry, what more do you want?" Rachel spat.

"To kill you."

Rebekah lunged forward, her fangs barred, but this time Rachel wasn't able to completely force the raving vampire off of her. Instead, the best she could do was keep Rebekah at arm's length, but it was no good. The vampire was way too strong for her – and it was only a matter of time.

Could she die by being drained of her blood?

It was a thought that had never crossed her mind until Rebekah was inches away from her neck, all the while Rachel struggling to fight the predator off.

Just as she thought the blonde's fangs would pierce her neck, there was a loud noise, and before her stood Elijah, holding Rebekah by her neck as Rebekah had done to the doppelgänger.

"Elijah," Rebekah breathed.

"Leave," Elijah commanded. He withdrew his hand from Rebekah's neck, and the other Original panted from the intensity of Elijah's restraint. Though, of course, the blonde did not give up. She just stood right in Elijah's face, and the classy Original spoke again. "Are you challenging me?"

"You're pathetic," Rebekah whispered, slowly circling her head to look at Rachel, who waited and braced for Rebekah's next fight. "Both of you."

And then she was gone, leaving Elijah and Rachel all alone with each other.

"T-Thank you," Rachel nodded at him. Elijah nodded back. "Why—"

"Is my sister out of her coffin and free to kill you and whomever she pleases?" Elijah filled in. Rachel slowly nodded. "It seems you missed all the fun last night."

"It was their mother, Esther, who was sealed in that coffin," Elena said as she cleaned up around her kitchen, with some help from Rachel.

"As in the Original witch?" Stefan asked, confused.

"Yep," Rachel agreed. "Original and all-powerful."

"What?" Damon breathed. "How is she even alive? I thought her hybrid freak show of a son ripped her heart out a thousand years ago."

Rachel slammed her hands on the counter, earning the people of the room's attention. She swept her eyes around. "Listen, I know we're not all on Team Klaus here, but I would appreciate it if we could keep the unnecessary comments to ourselves," she shot at Damon, who just rolled his eyes and got up from the place he was sitting to walk behind her. She, in return, rolled her own eyes and moved away from him to the other side of the counter. Damon shrugged in response.

"I guess Esther just has some connections in the witch community," Elena suggested.

"Elijah said that she wants to be a family again," Rachel explained. "She wants all of them to live in peace."

"That coffin was the only thing stopping Klaus from tearing us to shreds," Stefan complained.

"Anyone else feeling a little used right now?" Damon quipped. Rachel let out a sigh.

"Listen, Elijah protected me from Rebekah last night when she tried to get even after I stabbed her in the back with a dagger," she began. "And he's promised me that no one we know"—Rachel gestured back and forth between her and Elena—"will get hurt. Including you two," she said, looking at the Salvatore boys. "So you're welcome." She smiled.

"So let me just get this straight," Stefan started, stopping in his footsteps. "You're in love with the man that we all want to kill right now, but you're still on our side?"

"I'm on Elena's side," Rachel said, narrowing her eyes at Stefan. When the doorbell rang and Elena was busy washing out the sink, she sighed and walked around the counter, still speaking to Stefan. "Besides, just because he's my boyfriend doesn't mean I don't care about you, Stef." She smirked at the Salvatore, who just rolled his eyes, but it was very playful of him. With a smile, she moved towards the door and opened it, but no one was outside to greet her.

It was only when she looked down when she saw two invitations fanned out, each with beautiful calligraphy that spelled out names.

Elena Gilbert.

Rachel Cameron.

Curious, she picked up the envelopes from the doormat and looked around, but there was no one in sight. When she walked back inside, Elena, Stefan, and Damon were all staring at her.

"What is it?" Damon asked. Elena walked over to her doppelgänger, and Rachel gave her the invitation. The both of them pulled their cards open to reveal a single card.

"It's an invitation," Elena said, confused. With a sigh, she spoke. "'Please join the Mikaelson family this evening at seven o'clock for dancing, cocktails, and celebration.'"

"Who the hell are the Mikaelsons?" Stefan snorted.

"Klaus," Rachel said immediately without any hesitation. They all stared at her. "I-I mean…the Original family," she clarified with a nod.

Damon groaned. "It's not bad enough they're moving into town, now they want a housewarming gift?"

Ignoring the comment, she flipped the invitation around, only to find a note on the back of her card written in nice, calligraphic letters.

"There's a note on the back of mine," she announced as she read the note. "'Rachel, I've learned about your blood tie with my son, and I think it's time we officially meet. Esther,'" she read aloud, looking up at the three immediately after she read the note. "Esther knows about the blood bond?"

"Do you think she can break it?" Elena tried.

"There's only one way to find out," Rachel nodded to her in agreement.

"No," Damon said simply. Rachel looked up at him, confused.

"What?" she asked, blatantly bewildered. "You want me to break this bond more than anyone else, what's the problem?"

"It's too dangerous," Damon returned. Rachel frowned at him. "Esther could turn around and kill you, it's way too risky. We'll find another way to break it."

"You do want to break it, right?" Elena pressured. Rachel took a moment with a sigh as she looked down at the card and read the invitation again. There was no doubt in her mind that Klaus wanted her as her date, but did she want to be his? Yeah, she was his girlfriend, but at the same time, what if that wasn't real? What if he just wanted her to be in love with him so bad that it made her completely blind?

She wanted her own decision.

"Yes," she said after a while, looking up at everyone. "Yes. I do. That's why I need to go tonight."

"You're not going," Damon retorted without hesitation. Angrily, she walked past them and into the kitchen to go to the connected living room.

"Look, if Esther knows how to break the bond, I think I should go and figure out why and…how," she reasoned.

"She tried to kill Elena with that explosion the night of the bonfire, what's to stop her from killing you?" Damon proposed.

Rachel looked at him. "Uh…the fact that I'm dating her son, maybe?" Rachel shot.

"You think she really cares about that?" Damon demanded.

"Rachel's right, Damon," Elena intervened. "Bonnie and her mom brought Esther back for a reason, the coffin was sealed for a reason…we need to find out what Esther wants."

"You two can't protect yourselves," Damon said, looking over at Rachel.

"I just fought off Rebekah last night," she protested.

"And if it weren't for Elijah, she would've probably sucked you dry and you would be dead by now."

"You're forgetting, I'm still a vampire."

"Half-breed," Damon corrected. "You're a half vampire, which means that by default, you're still human. Look, I'll figure out how to break the bond and we'll do it on our own." Without any sort of warning, Damon snatched the invitation straight from her hands.

"Damon!" she shouted angrily.

"End of story," he replied without another word from her.

"It's some twisted Cinderella fetish is what it is," Caroline spat angrily as Rachel, Caroline, Elena, and Grace all sat at a table at the Grill, having lunch together. Apparently, Klaus had invited Caroline to the ball as well, which sort of made Rachel a little concerned.

"He just…up and gave you a dress and an invitation?" she asked, her tone higher than normal. Caroline looked over at her. "I mean…just like that? No reason at all?"

"Well, he did save my life from the werewolf bite that Tyler gave me," she admitted. Rachel let her eyes drop down to her menu. "Oh, God. I didn't even think about—"

"Don't worry about it," Rachel cut her off, leaning back in her chair. "It's between me and Klaus, not you." She sighed.

"Well, what does the evil witch want with you?" Grace asked, moving onto another topic.

Rachel shrugged. "To break the bond," she guessed. "Or…kill me." She sighed and leaned forward. "One of the two."

"Only one way to find out," Elena sung.

Caroline blinked at the devious doppelgängers. "I thought you told Damon and Stefan that you weren't going."

Rachel shrugged again. "What they don't know won't hurt them," she said, her voice a higher tone. "But we do need some bodyguards that are actually vampires, so…that's why we asked you two here." She smiled at them. "What do you say? Dinner and a date?" she teased.

"Well, I think a Salvatore would look a lot better in a tux…and by that, I mean Stefan," Caroline clarified.

Rachel groaned. "Whatever Stefan's feeling, he's channeling it all towards Klaus, which won't make me a very happy camper tonight. And…um…Damon?" She sighed. "I don't really think I want to push anymore buttons on him."

"Why?" Grace frowned. "Because you two made out?"

Rachel looked up at Grace. "I told you that I was sorry for lying," she apologized.

"You should be apologizing to me, not her!" Caroline said, earning Rachel's attention. Rachel raised her eyebrows. "I had to hear it from Bonnie."

"Grace," Elena began, dragging out the word. Caroline and Rachel were silent. "Let's…err…go get something from the bar," she suggested, and the two left without protest.

Rachel inhaled. "Look, I was going to tell you—"

"I have been helping you through your mixed feelings all summer, Rachel!" Caroline complained. "Whenever you and Damon had a heart-to-heart or something and you felt like you were going to break, you came to me! And I had to find out from someone else that you kissed him again?"

"I'm sorry," she apologized. "Everything was happening so fast. And…besides…I don't…I don't really know if I feel anything for Damon anymore…all of that's gone now."

"Because of the blood bond?" Caroline filled in.

Rachel opened her mouth, but no words came out. "I…I don't really know," she said after a while. Caroline waited and watched as Rachel struggled with her words. "It's…confusing, you know? I remember everything that happened with Damon…caught up in the heat of the moment countless times, but…I can't remember why I ever did any of those things. Why did I do any of those things when I knew I was in love with Klaus?" she vented.

"Have you ever thought of this as a good thing?" Caroline prompted. Rachel raised her eyebrows in confusion. "I mean, Damon did compel you to pretend to be Katherine for an entire year before he turned you and thought that you'd be magically okay with it. And when you came back, he sucked you right back into the same trap. Maybe Klaus taking your feelings away from him is a good thing. Maybe he did you a favor," she suggested.

Rachel was silent before she scoffed. "I remember when everything was just so much easier," she breathed, leaning back in her chair. "On the run with Katherine, only hating Damon, not even knowing about Klaus…" Rachel trailed off. "Easier," she concluded.

"Careful, Caroline," a voice interrupted them, and when the vampires turned they came face to face with Rebekah. "It's all well and good until she stabs you in the back."

Rachel let out a hard breath through her teeth. "I told you that I was sorry."

"Yeah, well, sorry isn't good enough," Rebekah said simply before walking off in another direction. Rachel's eyes followed the vampire, but it wasn't that far that she had to follow. Caroline turned as well, and they both spotted Rebekah talking to Matt, and all of a sudden, Rebekah brought out an invitation card.

"Oh my God," Caroline breathed angrily. "She's inviting him to the ball." Caroline whipped her head around to face Rachel, and by that time, Elena and Grace came back. "Why is she inviting him?" Caroline demanded.

"Inviting who?" Elena asked, but when she turned around, her questions were answered. "Uh-oh," she said under her breath.

"Why is she inviting him?" Caroline demanded once more, her voice a higher tone.

"Probably to get that reaction from you," Rachel offered. Caroline slumped back in her chair angrily before speaking.

"What time is this stupid dance?"

Unfortunately for Rachel, Klaus didn't decide to get her an evening gown for the night, so she had to go and fend for herself. Which was no problem – it was actually a good thing. It was giving Elena, Grace, and Rachel time to spend with each other and keep up appearances as cousins, even though the town was pretty convinced. Grace went to school as usual, sometimes even if Elena and Rachel didn't show up so that it wouldn't raise any suspicion.

If only their life could be as normal as they pretended it was.

After the three of them bought their dresses for the ball – Grace including, being Elena's plus-one – Grace parted to go to the Boarding House while Elena and Rachel walked to Rachel's car to go home. But, a certain British male stopped them in the middle of their conversation on the sidewalk.

"I hope what's in that bag is for me, love, you know how I love a good surprise," Klaus spoke with a smile on his face as he looked at the garment bag Rachel was carrying in her hand. Elena and Rachel stopped in their tracks.

"Klaus," Rachel breathed, an enormous wave of relief passing through her. If he was here, she hoped it was on terms that didn't include him knowing about her knowledge.

"I'll wait in the car," Elena mumbled, grabbing the keys from Rachel's hand and walking off without a word to the Original. Klaus rolled his eyes.

"Does our youngest doppelgänger still hate me?" Klaus asked with feigned sadness.

"Well…you did kill her Aunt Jenna and turned one of her friends into a hybrid," Rachel reasoned. Klaus shrugged.

"The things I do to gain power – sue me." Klaus looked down at the bag. "But, really, I am curious about what's in the bag. Dress for tonight?" he proposed.

Rachel sighed. "Yes," she admitted. "Because someone"—Rachel shot Klaus a pointed stare—"decided to buy his mistress a dress instead of his girlfriend." Truth be told, she didn't want to bring it up, but the opportunity was too good to pass up. Klaus laughed.

"I sense some jealousy." Rachel frowned, and Klaus sighed. "I didn't buy you a dress, because I want you to surprise me," he admitted. "Granted, you always surprise me, but I wanted you to pick the dress that's going to end up on the floor tonight." Klaus concocted an evil grin that made Rachel's frown slightly twitch up into a smile, though she tried to hide it.

"Well, lucky for you, I'm good at improvising," she said, trying to hide her grin from showing. It was a major failure, but it was the effort that counted. Klaus pursed his lips.

"I am curious…" He reached out to try and unzip the garment bag, but she slapped his hand away.

"I thought you wanted it to be a surprise!"

"Oh, Rachel, you know I'm terribly impatient!" Klaus groaned. Rachel looked up at him, this time unable to hide her grin from him, which earned a smile from Klaus. For a moment, she couldn't believe it. Him invoking the blood bond with her? Why would he need to do it, anyway? She was completely in love with him. She always had been.

Rachel cleared her throat. "I should…go," she said at last, brushing past Klaus to try and leave, but he brought her back with a gentle hand on her arm. When he pulled her to him, their lips met for what seemed like the first time all over again, and the garment bag was the only thing standing between them. As they stayed lip-locked in the middle of the sidewalk, she could feel the overwhelming emotions.

But as she thought about what Damon told her…about what Stefan had backed up, she had begun to see through the emotions, and she began to realize that Damon, no matter how much she hated to admit it, was right.

Damon, still perfectly oblivious to Rachel and Elena's plan to show up at the ball, attended the Mikaelson ball to do recon and scope out this…all-powerful Original Witch. As the party buzzed with all sorts of undistinguished chatter, Damon spent his time chatting up Mayor Lockwood, trying to get her on their side rather than the enemy's.

"Hello, Carol," Damon said courteously as he brought the Mayor her evening champagne.

"Hello," she sung back to him as she took the alcohol graciously and they tapped glasses.

"Hanging out with your new besties?" Damon accused her, but with a smile on his face.

"I'm the mayor, Damon," Carol defended herself. "When the oldest, deadliest family of vampires moves into your town, you welcome them with a smile," she explained, smiling herself.

"Hmm," Damon not-so-agreed. "Well, at least you know who you're borrowing your cup of sugar from," he quipped, smirking at her accusingly. She turned to him and went on the defensive again.

"I'm trying to protect this town. They've assured me that they want peace, and I've assured them that I'd enforce it," Carol snapped.

"Mayor Lockwood!" A man said, approaching Damon and Carol and interrupting their conversation. He stuck his hand out and she shook it graciously. "We haven't formally met. Kol Mikaelson." The charming British male brought the hand of Carol Lockwood's to his lips and charmingly kissed it. "I hope your lovely town embraces us just as much as we plan to embrace it."

Damon decided that it was time to intervene. "Damon Salvatore," he introduced himself, sticking his hand out to interrupt Carol and Kol. "Have we met?"

The Original didn't shake the vampire's hand. "I've met a lot of people, and you don't particularly stand out." With a sour smile, Kol moved past Damon and Carol, their eyes following the Original vampire. But as Damon removed his eyes from the vampire and focused on something else, something caught his eye.

The double doors opened and the person who was stepping through them caught his particular interest. It was Rachel, to his surprise, but much to his pleasure. She was…beautiful, in his eyes, of course. Not that she wasn't beautiful on a regular basis; it was just…it was different. Damon found himself studying every single inch of her look: the blow-dried hair that layered perfectly, the piece of hair that was pinned back by one simple diamond-studded pin above her left ear, and the way she held her elegant, strapless-styled black and white dress off from the floor as she entered the room and stole his breath away.

Rachel thanked the guards that let her into the mansion and closed the doors behind her. She stepped inside and looked around, admiring the building that she would have to spend the rest of the night inside of. When she looked behind her and saw the doors open to reveal Elena, she smiled and fixed the cream-white gloves that covered her pale hands. As Elena stepped inside and shrugged off her shawl, she felt a presence beside her.

"Well, well, well," Stefan began, approaching them from Elena's side. Rachel could feel Elena stiffen from beside her.

"What are you doing here, Stef?" Rachel shot him a small smile without looking up at him. She fixed her daylight bracelet before glancing up at the emotionless vampire. "I didn't peg you as a party crasher…or…maybe I did," she offered.

"Funny," Stefan said, giving a dry laugh. She just continued to smile. "I could ask you two the same thing, couldn't I?"

"Surprise, surprise," Damon deadpanned as he walked up to the rest of the group. Rachel turned her head to look at him, but Damon was looking at Stefan. "Nice tux," he complimented before turning to Rachel. "You're not supposed to be here," he hissed and glanced over at Elena. "Neither of you."

"Oh, but look at that, here we are." Rachel shot Damon the cutest smile she could muster. "And I am not leaving until I can get some answers and figure out what Esther wants from me, and Elena's going to help me do it," she determined, and Elena nodded in agreement. Damon gulped back words.

"Right," Elena agreed. "So, shall we?" she asked, turning to Stefan. Stefan took a moment, but he eventually held out his arm and Elena took it hesitantly, shooting a glance at Rachel before going off into the crowd with Stefan.

When Rachel turned back around to look at Damon, she realized that he had performed the same gesture to her as Stefan did to Elena. His arm was extended, and his expression prompted for her to take it. She wanted to turn away from it, but she oddly found herself fitting her arm into his. It wasn't because she felt sorry for him and wanted to be kind, there was actually no apparent reason at all.

Or, well, none that she could put a finger on.

So, for some unexpected reason, with their arms interlocked, she let him lead her out into the crowd of people.

"I hope you know that you're in way over your head," Damon whispered as they walked together. Rachel sighed.

"I don't understand why this isn't something in your best interest," she admitted. Damon waited for her to continue. "After all, you claim that Klaus has a hold on me because of this bond. Shouldn't you want it gone?"

Damon snorted. "Of course I want the bond gone, but that doesn't mean that I want you to go down with it," he returned, as if the explanation was obvious. "Esther could try and kill you. She didn't know that you could sire hybrids when she tried to kill Elena. You act like I'm in this just to get rid of the bond."

She pulled her hand from him and stopped in front of the champagne booth, turning to face him. "Well, aren't you?" she demanded, though she believed in his claim, it was nothing but that – a claim. And if there was one more thing besides Esther's plan that she was going to figure out tonight was if Damon's story had any truth to it or not.

But if there was anything she'd learned from Damon Salvatore, it was that doubting him was not a smart move to make. His irrational thoughts would make him do something stupid – something that would hurt the lives of many. For now, Rachel would try and get her answers without pushing the limit.

Damon squared his jaw. "Like I said, breaking the bond means nothing to me if you're not alive at the end of the day." When she said nothing, he realized that their conversation was over, and he cleared his throat. "I'll…be back," Damon promised, but she just stayed quiet. His eyes glanced over the length of her body once before he brushed past her and left, leaving her alone at the champagne booth.

Well, at least she had some form of alcohol.

"Rachel Cameron, I presume," a voice said in her ear, and Rachel turned her head to see a handsome man standing in front of her, in a tux, of course, extending a glass of champagne towards her.

She cleared her throat. "Uh…yes," Rachel answered, taking the drink.

"I'm Finn Mikaelson," he introduced himself. "You're here to see my mother." It wasn't a question, it was a flat-out statement.

Rachel nodded. "Well, is she here?" Rachel prompted. Finn looked at her, disappointed.

"Her request did not include your friends," he whispered. Rachel shook her head.

"They're here to protect me." She let out a laugh and brought the champagne glass to her lips. "God knows why. She tried to kill Elena before, not me."

Finn ignored her comment. "If you want to see my mother, you'll need to be alone," Finn told her without blinking twice. Rachel set her mouth in a straight line, but before she could say anything more, he slightly brushed past her, and there was a loud voice that spoke.

"Uh, if everyone could gather, please," Elijah said graciously, making Rachel turn around and see the entire Mikaelson clan standing on the stairs. After a moment, Elijah continued. "Welcome," he greeted. "Thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance." Rachel scanned her eyes over the stairwell until she met Esther's gaze, and she involuntarily felt a chill run down her spine.

"Tonight's pick," continued Elijah, "is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom."

But the dance was the least of her priorities. She could see Klaus eye her from the staircase above, but she wasn't focused on him at the moment. Instead, she focused on Esther, who went up the staircase rather than down. Draining her champagne glass, she placed the drink down at the champagne booth and picked up her dress to get ready to meet Esther.

Instead, Damon made his way back to her.

"Don't even think about it," he said, blocking her from leaving. Rachel tilted her head at him angrily.

"Damon, move." He didn't. She shot him a bitter smile. "I get it, you want to be invited. Well, oops. I'd invite you to join, but you can't come. Girls only." But as she tried to move past him, he blocked her again.

"Well, it must suck to be her, then." Rachel grimaced at the vampire before her. "Was I not clear this morning?'

"You were crystal clear," Rachel returned with a shrug. "I just decided not to listen to you."

"You have to tell me before you walk into a lion's den!" Damon whispered angrily.

"Why?" Rachel spat. "So you can stop me? You need to stop making a big deal out of this, Damon!"

"Well too bad!" Damon practically yelled, and Rachel just stood there, attempting on making Damon get out of her way with silence. Instead, Damon didn't budge, and she just waited for him to move. But, instead, he surprised her again, by holding out his hand this time. "It would be rude not to dance, you know," he commented, his voice slightly overjoyed.

Rachel scowled. "Waltzing is the least of my priorities," she responded harshly. Damon just waited there, his hand still extended, but she planned on walking right past it. Instead, from the corner of her eye, she saw Klaus theatrically invite Caroline for a dance, and Rachel stiffened at the sight before turning to Damon. "All right, all right, fine. Fine. You win. One dance." She fit her hand in his, and he pulled her closer to intertwine their arms and hands as he led her out to the dance floor. When they lined up on the dance floor, something odd caught her eye. Elijah and Grace were paired up together, smiling at each other as they were about to dance.

When did that happen? the doppelgänger asked herself.

"You look stunning, if it isn't obvious," Damon complimented her, pulling her attention back to him as they began the dance by marching up, their hands oddly fitted into each other's.

Cautiously, she snuck a glance at them, but it was easy when they turned to face the row of dancers on the other side. "Thanks," she said, her heart giving a slight pang of guilt and all other emotions. Damon held his head proud and she kept her eyes on him for an extra moment until the dance began and they stepped forward to cross positions with the other dancers. There was a pause for a moment before the march began again, and Damon spun her under his arm and the real dance began.

Rhythmically, Damon pulled his doppelgänger into a circle on the dance floor, following the basic steps of the waltz. It was…shocking to her that she was actually enjoying it, and she could see the ghost of a smile on Damon's lips.

"Klaus and Caroline dancing together." Damon blew out a long breath of air. "That must suck."

Rachel sighed. "You really want to discuss Klaus?" she positioned, raising an eyebrow at him, almost challenging the vampire. Damon shrugged.

"It just seems like if he really knew how good he had it, he wouldn't be dancing with another girl right in front of you," Damon responded. "I wouldn't."

Rachel sighed. "I…imagine Klaus's game is to make me feel the way he does when I'm with you." She swallowed hard and reluctantly looked up at Damon, whose expression did not look like she'd thought it would.

"Yeah, well, he doesn't have to worry about that, anymore, does he?" Damon proposed, and she waited for him to clarify. "He took away your feelings for me."

Rachel looked away for a moment before turning back at him. "Feelings…change, Damon. Why can't you grasp that?" she tried.

Damon shook his head. "Because they don't," he said simply, looking down at her, causing her to stiffen. "Not with us," he responded before forcing her away from him to preform the switching part of the dance. She barely felt it when she was spun from Damon and into another body, and it just so happened to be Klaus. The second she hit his body, Klaus glided them across the dance floor.

"You look breathtakingly beautiful in that dress, sweetheart. Aren't you glad I didn't pick one out for you?" Klaus proposed with a smirk. Rachel scoffed.

"Wow, I'm special enough to get a dance tonight? Shocking," she deadpanned, resisting rolling her eyes at the Original.

Klaus chuckled underneath his breath. "I should make you jealous more often. You're adorable when you are," he admitted. Rachel frowned at him, and Klaus just sighed. "I didn't complain about you dancing with Damon, did I?"

"No," she replied. "But that's because—"

"Because I took away everything you've ever felt for him?" Klaus filled in without waiting for her response. Rachel was quiet. "Rachel, I'm bonded to you." He paused. "And, I also happen to be a vampire who can hear from less than three feet away." Rachel lowered her eyes. "Talk to me, Rachel, I want to know how you're feeling."

Rachel looked up at him. "How am I supposed to tell you that when I don't know what I'm feeling anymore?" she whispered, but she didn't stop their dance. She didn't try and pull away. She wanted to talk through this for as long as she could.

"You do know," Klaus told her firmly, nodding once, and that's when the both of them were at an impasse at the point. Without warning, Klaus leaned forward and kissed her as they moved across the floor with skill, and she didn't object to it, oddly enough. He decided when he pulled away, and when he did, it left her lips parting, and she felt like she wanted more.

But how could she know those feelings were real?

With a clear of her throat, she pulled her head away from the proximity she was with Klaus to stare into his eyes.

"You're wrong," she said, her voice low. "I don't."

With that last word, she spun herself away from Klaus, only to end up with another dance partner.

"Stefan," Rachel sighed, though her voice was a little more cheerful than it was with Klaus or with Damon. "On normal circumstances, I would be directing you towards Elena's direction, but I'm in dire need of a distraction," she breathed.

"I figured," Stefan replied. "Stefan Salvatore to the rescue, who would've thought." He grinned widely. Rachel shrugged.

"Well, you are the most decent one of them all, maybe I should choose you instead." She chuckled, and it earned a chuckle from Stefan as well. "Are you angry with me too for wanting to come tonight?"

Stefan took a moment to answer, but he eventually got words out. "I think you need to do what you want to do for once," he determined at last with a lot of hesitation. Rachel stared at him, impressed. "And…well…you're here. And I won't be stopping you." He nodded, symbolizing her agreement.

Rachel was silent for a moment. "Dear God, I think I'm in love with you," she whispered, though it was obviously a joke. Stefan smiled at her and pulled her around in a circle, which made her laugh as well. But when he stopped spinning her around and they came to a standstill, Rachel spotted Elena in her line of sight, and the doppelgänger was waving the other one towards her. In sheer confusion, Rachel watched as Elena stepped outside of the mansion, and Rachel took it as a signal to go with her. "Come on," she told Stefan, pulling his hand with hers outside to meet Elena. If there was anyone that she could trust, it would be him.

Both of them met Elena outside, and Elena was a little relieved to see the both of them.

"What is it? Something wrong?" Stefan asked as he and Rachel approached the human.

"I have an idea," Elena rushed out, her voice slightly breathless. The two vampires listened in on her plan as she spoke it. "Rachel needs to see Esther and she can't do it under Damon's protection – he won't let her out of her sight."

Rachel scoffed. "Yeah, that's Damon for you. You two just distract him with a couple glasses of bourbon for a few minutes while I talk to Esther, no big deal." She shrugged.

"Uh…Rachel, I don't think it'll be that easy," Stefan admitted, making Rachel turn her head to look at him. "Damon seems persistent on getting the spell to break the bond without your involvement. He'll do whatever he needs to so that you're out of the way and you have no risk of getting hurt."

"Well, that's not an option."

"Right," Elena agreed. "Which is why I was going to suggest that you," she looked at Rachel, "lure Damon into a room and inject him with vervain, but now that Stefan's here, all he has to do is snap his neck," the human suggested.

"Uh…why would I do this?" Stefan asked.

Elena looked pointedly at him. "Well, you care about killing Klaus more than anyone, so…" she trailed off, and Stefan shifted. "What, am I wrong?"

Stefan took a moment to answer, and Rachel realized that this was that part of the conversation that she wasn't supposed to be a part of, but accidentally got caught up into it. "No," Stefan answered at last. Not a smart move. "No, you're not wrong."

Elena nodded. "Okay, then," she said curtly, looking over at Rachel. "Text Damon and have him meet you in the study. We won't have a lot of time, but it'll hopefully be enough for you to talk to Esther without interruptions." Elena picked up her dress and walked towards the mansion, and Rachel was a little confused as to who was more determined to talk to Esther – her or Elena.

"Hey," Stefan said, gripping Rachel's arm before they could walk back to the mansion together. "You sure you can do this?" he asked, and she knew exactly what he was referring to. Would she be able to jeopardize her relationship with Damon for a few moments alone with Klaus's mother?

The answer: "Yes."

Rachel stood by the window in the study as she heard footsteps approach inside of the room, and she turned around to meet Damon's slightly annoyed face.

"I got your text," he said, throwing his hands up. "What are we doing in here?"

Rachel shook her head slightly, but Damon barely noticed a thing when a creak sounded and Stefan flashed over, snapping Damon's neck in a mere instant. Damon dropped to the ground, and Rachel just winced at the pain that Stefan was causing his brother. She didn't want to do this to him, but he had left them no choice. Elena was right.

Stefan sighed. "You better hurry up," he told her. She nodded. "He won't be down long. Elena's downstairs keeping up appearances and I'll watch Damon," he explained. She nodded again before walking around the desk and out into the hallway, not thinking twice about looking back before she went to meet Esther.

Unfortunately, halfway to Esther's meeting place, Elijah stopped her. "Rachel." She turned around to face him, but he was only wasting her time. She would have to make this quick. "I understand my mother requested to see you."

Rachel nodded and they began to walk together. "Yeah," she agreed, though she had been wavering on telling the Original the truth. "Why?"

"Well, her ability to forgive my brother after everything he's done to destroy this family strikes me as a little…strange, to say the least," Elijah confided in her.

"So you think that this whole 'family' thing is just an act," Rachel filled in the blanks. Elijah spun around to face her.

"It has me asking questions I never thought I'd ask," he whispered. Rachel sighed. "Can I depend on you to tell me what she says."

Rachel scoffed. "Only if I can depend on you to keep Klaus from looking for me," she proposed. Elijah nodded to her. "Then we have a deal," she agreed. "I'll find you after I'm done," she whispered.

"Thank you," Elijah said graciously, and Rachel's only response was a light nod before going off into the corridor to Esther's meeting place. When she reached the door, she knocked on it briskly, needing to get this over with before Damon ever realized that she was gone. Maybe she would be able to spin a story if she got back in time. Probably not.

Finn answered the door, looking around her to make sure there were no others. He gestured inside, and she picked up her dress and walked forward. "You're alone," he praised. "Wise choice."

She didn't say anything back. Instead, she stopped halfway into the room and stared at Esther, who was holding some type of herb in her hand.

"Is that—?" Rachel began, but the witch cut her off.

"It's only sage," Esther assured the doppelgänger. Rachel waited for the explanation. "I've spelled it so that we can speak freely without being overheard." She turned to Finn. "That'll be all, Finn. Thank you." Without another word, Finn closed the doors behind him, leaving Rachel alone in the lion's den. "You must have a million questions for me, Rachel." She stiffened and nodded. "Please," the witch offered, gesturing to the couch in front of her.

Once she sat down with Esther, that's when Rachel began. "I'll start with the basics," she proposed. Esther nodded, ready for the questions. "How are you alive? Klaus killed you…you were dead."

"Not exactly," Esther returned. "When I died, the witch Ayana preserved my body with a spell. She was a close friend of mine. An ancestor of your friend, Bonnie."

Rachel nodded. "Which explains the fact that only Bonnie and her mother could open the casket," she said with a laugh, realizing that it was obvious now.

"They complete the Bennett bloodline," Esther agreed. "I drew power from them and their ancestors who were with me on the Other Side."

"So you were on the Other Side for one thousand years?" Rachel asked in disbelief. "Seems harsh," she muttered.

"Nature's way of punishing me for turning my family into vampires," Esther explained, some sourness in her tone. Rachel understood. "But…there is a way for me to undo the evil I created."

Rachel was quiet for a moment. "You're…going to kill Klaus, aren't you?" she breathed.

"I wish it didn't have to come to that," Esther admitted while sighing. "And, I admit, it must seem strange that I'm coming to his girlfriend for help on achieving the first step to that goal, but I know that you're aware of the bond that ties you and my son together. And the fact that he has been controlling you for the past few days."

"How…" Rachel trailed off, trying to find words. "How am I supposed to help you when I'm bonded to him? He could easily ask me to tell me what I know and you'd be exposed."

"There is a piece of information that Niklaus has kept shielded from you for your entire life," Esther said cryptically, making Rachel tense up. "I know the origins of your existence are fuzzy – how there can be two doppelgängers in a span of only forty years." Emotionally invested, Rachel stayed quiet through Esther's speech. "But," Esther started again, "before I give away my information, I am prepared to offer you a deal, Miss Cameron."

"What is it?" Rachel asked.

"For tonight, I will need your help," the witch began. "And, for that help, I am prepared to offer you this piece of information and your freedom from my brother. Not to mention your eternal life returned to you."

"How?"

"It's simple, actually," Esther spoke, though she was hesitant. "I won't give all of my secrets away quite yet, but it will involve bonding you to someone else. Someone of your choice, of course."

Rachel was silent for a moment. "And what do you want from me?"

Esther inhaled. "My children believe I'm holding this ball to celebrate our reunion. But, in truth, I've gathered them together to perform a ritual. The first step requires blood from a doppelgänger." Rachel tensed. "Only a drop," Esther clarified. "Its essence will be in the champagne toast later on this evening. I only ask that you give that drop to me and fight Niklaus's suspicions and lie to him. In return, I will give the spell the break the bond to your witch and tell you that piece of information Niklaus has kept." She paused. "Fair enough?" she offered.

Rachel stared at Esther, debating. "Yes," she said finally, stiffening. "I…guess so."

"Good." Esther smiled. "Would you like to do the honors or shall I?" Rachel looked at the blade in Esther's hand before walking forward and pulling off her glove. She extended her hand towards the Original, who took her hand graciously and pricked the edge of her finger with the blade. It didn't hurt at all, and she remained calm the entire time. Esther put the blade down and turned Rachel's hand over so that the drops of blood forming from her finger dropped down into the cup below her hand. "Elijah is more suspicious than the others, so he may need some persuasion." Rachel swallowed. "But they must all drink at the toast in order to be linked as one."

Rachel knotted her eyebrows as Esther turned to her. "Linked as one?" she repeated.

"You know that Klaus can't be killed," Esther began. "But tonight's spell links all of my children together so that if one goes, they all go."

Rachel gulped. "W-What?" she breathed out. But…Elijah didn't deserve to die. Rebekah – as much as the blonde wanted to destroy her – didn't deserve to die, either. Klaus didn't deserve to die.

"I love my children, Rachel, as I suppose you love my son." Esther paused. "But they are abominations. I betrayed nature when I created them." She was silent. "Much like my son did to create you."

Rachel blinked. "E-Excuse me?" she stuttered. "Klaus didn't create me—"

"Yes, he did." Esther returned, silencing her. Rachel stayed silent to hear the information she was promised. "You are not supposed to exist, Rachel. You were supposed to be normal. Wear a different face. Have different blood." Rachel let her breath incline. "Instead, my son defied nature to create you and use you in a sacrifice. But your sire got to you before he could. As you played house, he was having his witch find other witches to draw power so that he could turn you human and use you as the sacrifice. But he fell in love with you instead," she explained.

"So I'm…I'm not a doppelgänger?" she asked, blatantly confused. Esther laughed.

"Oh, no. You are definitely a doppelgänger, Rachel, you just weren't meant to be," she told her. Rachel began to feel something that she hadn't felt in a long time – anger. She was supposed to be normal. If she had been normal, Damon would've never spotted her and she would've never became a vampire. And as much as she complained about wanting to be a full vampire again, there was that real part of her that didn't want to give up this humanity. Sure, she was weak, but she'd spent so long thinking that she was a vampire, she forgot what it felt like. And she liked being human. "Your life was altered by him. That's why Elena exists today, alongside you." Rachel didn't say anything. What could she say? Her entire life was a lie. "This is why, Rachel, I enlisted you into helping me instead of Elena," Esther explained, looking straight into her eyes. "I believe that you and I will make a great team in the near future."

She tried to keep her heart rate down as much as she could, but it wasn't really working all that well. At least vampires would have to really zone in on her heartbeat to hear it.

Rachel nearly jumped out of her skin when someone whispered in her ear, "So how was my mother?" She turned to see Elijah, and her guilt only worsened. After the information she learned, Klaus deserved what he had coming, as much as she loved him with her heart and soul. But Elijah? No. Elijah didn't deserve this.

She shot him a weak smile. "Well, they don't call her the most powerful witch for nothing, I'll tell you that," Rachel responded, her voice a under her breath. Elijah graciously grabbed two champagne glasses that were offered to her as he spoke again.

"And for what reason did she need to speak with you in private?" Elijah extended a glass towards her, and she accepted it, trying not to allow him to see the hesitation. Her eyes wandered elsewhere, and Esther caught her eye. The Original witch could hear her – she knew that. Esther shot the doppelgänger a malicious smile, and Rachel heard her name. "Rachel?" Elijah called her back. Rachel turned to him. "Should I be concerned about my mother's intentions?"

Rachel cleared her throat. "No. She just wanted to introduce herself, that's all," Rachel said, her voice soft. Elijah eyed her. "You know, me being a part of the family and everything…dating Niklaus?" She would have to keep the charade up in order for Niklaus to be fooled by Esther's plan. "You never know, I might become your sister-in-law one day," she offered weakly, giving him a slight smile.

"Hmm, perhaps." Elijah laughed. Rachel laughed as well, but it wasn't nearly as whole-hearted as she'd liked it to be. "So…it's true, then? She's forgiven Klaus?"

Rachel gave him another smile. "Just like I have," she agreed. "It's true," Rachel confirmed. But before the conversation could move on, there was a ding. Elijah and Rachel turned their heads to see Esther on the stairs, speaking.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen," she announced, looking at everyone and holding up a glass of rose-colored champagne. "Waiters are coming around with champagne. I invite you all to join me in raising a glass. It provides me with no greater joy than to see my family back together as one." Oh, the irony, Rachel breathed in her thoughts, her heart beating wildly. Don't hear it, Elijah, Rachel thought, her voice strained. "I'll like to thank you all for being a part of this spectacular evening." She raised her glass up in the air. "Cheers!"

"Cheers!" the crowd echoed. Rachel watched as, one by one, the Originals drank their glasses of champagne. Her eyes specifically landed on Klaus, who gave her a smile from out in the crowd. He mouthed something, and she realized it was his token of affection.

"I love you, too," she mouthed back to him and turned to Elijah, who caught her with a word.

"Cheers," he started, clinking their glasses together.

"Cheers," Rachel returned and eyed the champagne glasses in their hands. God, she wished that Elijah didn't have to die. She didn't want any of them to die, really.

But she drank the champagne anyways.

And so did Elijah.

After the toast, she and Elijah parted ways. Rachel covered the mansion's ground to try and find Klaus, but he was nowhere to be found. Probably went away with Caroline, of course.

She would never be enough for him.

"Rachel." As soon as she heard the voice, she realized who it was. Stopping her search, she turned to face the elder Salvatore. "Did you get what you wanted?" Damon asked briskly when they were closer together.

Rachel sighed. "Yes, actually, no thanks to you," she shot.

"Good." Damon shrugged. "Tell me on the ride home." He shoved her purse towards her and gripped her arm tight. "We're leaving."

Rachel grasped his hand that was on her arm and tried to fight it. "Damon! Damon, let go of me right now." Damon looked around, worried about the scene that she was causing, and he eventually pulled his hand off of her, reluctant. Rachel sighed. "Listen, I know you're upset that I had to do what I did, and I'm sorry for cutting you out of the plan—"

"There shouldn't have been a plan in the first place," he spat through his teeth. "You shouldn't be here. You lied to me."

"Do you think I enjoy having to?" Rachel demanded, her voice a little louder than it should've been. She looked around before continuing. "Damon, I didn't want to, but it was necessary. You're being so difficult about this. If Stefan and Elena didn't help me, you would've tried to be the hero and would've ruined everything."

Damon rolled his eyes. "Sorry for trying to keep you alive!" he defended himself. Rachel straightened. "Clearly, Stefan and Elena don't give a crap anymore!"

Rachel scoffed. "Right. Okay. Now you're mad at me for including Stefan and Elena."

"No, I'm mad at you because I love you!"

"And that's the problem!" She didn't mean to shout it, but, unfortunately, that's the way it came out. She didn't realize what she said before it was all spilling out of her mouth, and Damon's expression changed. He stared at her incredulously, and it looked like he'd been punched in the gut with her words. Rachel took out a breath. "No…" she trailed off. Damon fell silent. "Hey, look, that's not—"

"No, I got it, Rachel," Damon deadpanned, his expression unmoving. She stared at him, a little angry that he was being this way with her. "I care too much. I'm a liability," he spat. She wanted to say something, but words completely escaped her. None of her feelings were there – she couldn't say anything to express how she had felt before. "How ironic is that?" he mumbled.

"Damon—" Rachel tried to speak, but Caroline, who walked up to the pair, cut off her words instantly.

"Hey, have you guys seen Matt?" she asked innocently. Rachel lowered her eyes and Damon just turned around at Caroline, saying nothing.

"N-No, Caroline," Rachel stuttered after a moment of silence. "Sorry," she apologized.

"I'll go look for him," Damon said, his voice flat. Rachel wanted to object, but by the time she merely thought of a word, Damon was gone, leaving Caroline and Rachel alone. Before they could converse, Elena and Grace joined them.

"What's going on?" Elena asked, turning to Rachel. "Did you…?"

Rachel nodded. "Um…yeah," she agreed. "It's…a long story, I'll tell you on the way home."

"You can tell me tomorrow," Caroline voiced, sighing. "I'm going to go home and crash. Tonight has been the epitome of stupid." With that angered tone, she stormed off, leaving just the three of them.

"Where'd Damon go?" Grace asked once Caroline left the house.

"He…went to find Matt." Rachel raised her hand and rubbed her forehead, closing her eyes. "We…had a fight. He's not in the best of moods right now, I wouldn't push him," she suggested.

"What about?" Elena pushed. Rachel glanced over at her.

"What do you think?" she countered. Elena sighed. "I tricked him into getting his neck snapped so I could do what he'd been protecting me from all night to do. And then he…and I…" Rachel sighed. "I need a drink."

"I'm going to get my coat so we can leave," Elena said, and Rachel nodded. Grace went off in another direction, and Rachel was partially curious as to where. An unsettling feeling arrived in her stomach. Grace had been dancing with Elijah earlier. Elijah was going to die if Esther completed her spell.

Please, dear God, Grace, don't be in love with an Original, she pleaded silently.

Rachel eagerly drowned the champagne in her glass. "Well, that's quite an example you're teaching the lovely Elena," someone said to her, and Rachel turned her head to see Klaus grinning. She felt herself grow more unsettled. How was it possible to hate someone so much, but love them at the same time?

Rachel let out a sigh and a slight laugh. "Actually, I'm teaching Elena what not to do. Piss of an ex-boyfriend," she clarified. "It's driven me to drink." Rachel raised her glass in toast to it before slamming back the rest of the alcohol.

Klaus took the glass out of her hand. "There's no need for that," he promised, giving the glass to the bartender. "You've got a new boyfriend now."

One that ruined my entire life, she added, but then sighed. "Yeah, well, you're kind of in the doghouse if you didn't realize."

Klaus rolled his eyes. "Still angry at me for invoking the blood bond?" She didn't say anything. "Oh, come on! I did you a favor. Damon was standing in our way, and he doesn't need to be. You love me, I love you, that's how this works." Klaus put his hands on her waist and brought her closer, but she kept them at a reasonable distance.

"You invited Caroline." Klaus gave an exhale. "You bought her a dress. You danced with her first. You disappeared after the toast. Am I not enough for you?"

Klaus squared his jaw. "I could ask you the same question, love," he promised, but the conversation stopped when they both heard Stefan shout his brother's name and the Originals rushed outside. Klaus was the first one to go, but Elena caught up with Rachel.

"What happened?"

"I-I don't know," Rachel admitted, and the both of them rushed out of the house at the same time to see what all the chaos was about.

"Are you crazy?" Stefan sneered at his older brother. Damon's eyes settled on Rachel as she jogged out, holding her dress up from the floor.

"Maybe a little," Damon agreed. Rachel looked at where he was standing – right over an Original's dead body. Of course, he would come back, but the episode had caused a ruckus. "But far be it from me to cause a problem," he said through his teeth. Rachel's expression changed, and she immediately recognized this as her doing. She didn't mean what she said…or, maybe she did. Just a little.

Without anything left, Damon, panting from the rush of his defiance, walked away from the rest of them with no other words to speak.

"Rachel…" someone trailed off, and she turned to see Klaus's arm on her elbow, slowly guiding her. She looked at him for a moment, lost in the trance of his eyes.

"N-No," she stuttered after a while. Her voice dropped. "Just…not tonight." Reluctantly, she turned from him, and Rachel half-expected for Klaus to turn her back and use the bond against her will. Instead, he let her stay like that.

"Come on," Stefan said after a moment of silence between them all. "We should get going."

"Look, Rebekah," Matt began, talking to the blonde Original. "You're really fun…and pretty and all, but I really need you to leave me alone." His tone was reluctant, but the seriousness in his voice was unmistakable. Damon listened while Matt left Rebekah alone, and he took that as his chance to speak and walk up to the Original.

"Burn," he cooed, earning Rebekah's attention. "Rejected by the captain of the football team." He leaned against the bar counter. "Welcome to adolescence."

"Shut up, Damon," Rebekah said through her teeth as he knocked back alcohol. "Knew I should've killed him," she whispered. "Mother wouldn't let me."

Damon reached forward and grabbed a bottle of alcohol from behind the bar. "Well…" He grabbed two glasses and set them on the counter before pouring the alcohol out. "Never let people tell you what to do." He poured the drinks, set the bottle down, and slid one towards the Original for her to have. He wanted to say he was drunk, but he was more angry and rejected than drunk. The alcohol only gave him that small little push. Rebekah knocked the shot back, as did Damon. "Besides, you would've broken him in a second."

"Are you suggesting I can't be gentle?"

"No. I'm just saying you should find someone a little more durable. That's all."

"And who would that be?" Damon glanced over at her, and he soon realized what this was.

And, not long later, he found himself pushing open the door of his bedroom with his foot, Rebekah attacking his lips with passion. Damon quickly shredded his tuxedo jacket and shut the door to his bedroom with a slam, breaking his kiss with the hot blonde for a moment. After one more hungry and animalistic kiss, Rebekah flipped them around and shoved him against a wall, pulling at his tie. She attacked his lips again and soon tore his shirt, but he was in too much of a frenzy to care at the moment. He flipped her around this time and attacked her neck with bruised kisses, and Rebekah moaned in response to his touch. Her breaths were short when he moved her over with his speed and slammed her against his bedpost, just before he ripped the dress right off of her body.

And not once did he think about the doppelgänger who was causing his phone to vibrate in the jacket pocket that was shredded on the floor.

I had to put the scene at the end in because a lot of people do stories where Damon doesn't end up having sex with Rebekah at the end of 3x14...but I kind of needed it. Jealous Rachel in this chapter AND the next chapter, but she'll be twice as bad in the next one. I hope you enjoyed it and please leave a review if you can.

Oh, and I have also uploaded two new stories, one a Klaus/OC/Marcel story going off of TO and an AU Damon/OC story that's a SPN/TVD crossover. You don't really have to know much about SPN, just the main characters.

Anyways, thank you for reading!

Love,
