Okay so I said I'd try to update more and since it's been 3 days, here's the chapter. So today Paul will face Lucy and I'm sorry if it feels a little rushed but if you want some Ikarishipping moments well don't worry, soon there will be plenty of them but I figured the last few chapters had a lot so I'm taking a small break but it'll only be for a chapter or two. So if you guys love Ikarishipping moments, then as Dawn would say no need to worry
Now for a bit of either bad news or news you won't care about. As you know, I was writing a fanfic on a sequel to Pokémon Xd and Coliseum. Well truth be told, I am not having a fun time writing it so I'm going to stop. I'm sorry if any of you liked it but It's becoming a pain and I'm just not enjoying it. It's different then this one because when I write this, I have fun and I truly love writing this story for all of you. So yea I'm sorry and I'm not trying to sound like a quitter but my decision is final.
With that said, lets start the next chapter. Today it's time for Paul vs Lucy and we will meet an old friend so let me know what think of this one and let's begin.
Chapter 36 The Battle With The Queen
(Dawn's POV)
"We're going to the battle Pike first!" Paul yelled annoyed
"No way, I want to get my gym badge first!" Barry said back just as annoyed.
"Look you already had a gym battle in the last town we went to. As for me, I've been stuck waiting for a while now. Besides my last frontier battle was with Tucker so it's only fair I get my shot." Paul said annoyed.
"Aw geese, here we go again with the arguing. I swear when it comes to battling, these boys change completely. Still Paul seems really eager to battle today. Maybe it's because he hasn't battled any frontier brains in a while." I said to myself
It had been about a week since our last encounter with team Alpha and my arm ended up healing just fine but my leg was still broken and it worried me. We had just arrived in Fuchsia city and we were deciding on whether we should go to the nearby Battle Pike or to the gym. As for my contest, it wouldn't be for another week but that still meant that my leg would be broken for it so I needed to find a way to preform even with a broken leg.
"Look I need to win my next symbol right now so I can get back to training my weaker Pokémon" Paul said
"I don't see what's with the hurry for you; it'll only make you unfocused and cause your own defeat." I said
"Look I know but I just need to battle now." Paul said
"Does this have anything to do with what happened to team Alpha?" I said as Paul went silent and eyed the floor. "I knew it, look the guy was a really strong opponent so who cares that you lost, getting unfocused won't solve anything. And besides He didn't really beat you." I said with a grin
"True but I didn't do much to help" Paul said looking away.
"SO what, you still showed up and that's all what matters, I'm sure you'll get stronger as time goes on so no need to worry." I said
"I suppose your right; I guess getting ahead of me won't change a thing." Paul said
"Good so you're feeling better" I said
"Yea I'm fine" Paul responded looking a bit embarrassed that he lost his cool.
"And with that said I guess we've decided that we'll be heading to the gym first." Barry said happily as he turned to leave the Pokémon center but Paul quickly grabbed him by the back of his shirt.
"Nice try but that's not going to happen. I may be calm but I'm still in the mood to battle today and I'm earning my next frontier symbol." Paul said
"No fair, I'm calling for a fine!" Barry said
"Fine then since you want to go to the gym and I want to go to the battle Pike, why don't we let Dawn chose since she's a good third party member?" Paul said
"Fine I suppose so besides I guess it would be the polite thing to do since she's on crutches." Barry said as he and Paul nodded their heads in agreement.
"SO what's your call?" Paul asked me.
I looked at both of them and saw Barry practically acting like a Growlithe with the way he was begging and Paul looked as though he didn't care but I had a feeling he wanted to battle. "Well truth be told, I'd like to see Paul battle the frontier brain. It has been awhile after all and it could make for a good show. Not that Barry's battles aren't interesting as well; it's just he's already battled before. SO I guess it's off to the Battle Pike" I said energetically.
"Sounds good" Paul said sounding a bit relieved although he tried to hide it.
"No fair" Barry said sounding heartbroken (Geese you'd think he'd have just gotten his heart broken by a girl or something. Then again to Barry this is probably just as bad.)
"Stop whining, you look like you're about to cry like a Bonsly so grow up." Paul said
"Jerk, I hope the frontier brain kicks your ass." Barry said
"As fun as the thought of Paul losing is I must ask what's going on with you three." We all heard a voice say.
"Zoey!" I said as I saw her walking up to us
"Hi Dawn, what the hell happened to you and why do I think Pauls' responsible for it." Zoey said as she saw my leg and shot Paul an evil glare.
"Geese I didn't do anything." Paul said
"He didn't Zoey" I said as I went on to explain what had happened to me.
"That has to be tough for you. SO are you still entering the contest even with that broken leg?" Zoey asked.
"Of course I am nothing can keep me away from it?" I said
"Well that's good to now but now I feel bad about it. Geese maybe I'll have to hold back." Zoey said
"Huh are you entering it too." I asked
"Of course I am. It would only be a matter of time before we had to face each other in a contest." Zoey said with a grin.
"Great, but you better not hold back on me because I want a good and fun match." I said
"Sure as long as you don't get ahead of yourself. Don't forget there are still rounds before so we have to get by those." Zoey said
"I know but no need to worry. SO Zoey we were about to go and watch Paul challenge another frontier brain. Would you like to come with us?" I said
"I'm good for today after all I need to train a little harder for the next contest." Zoey said
"Okay then that's too bad but we'll see you soon." I said
"Yea latter, it was good to see you." Zoey said as she walked away.
"So she's going to enter the contest huh." Paul said
"Yea" I said
"Have you ever beaten her?" Paul asked
"I'm embarrassed to say it but no. She's beaten me every time we faced. I lost twice. The second time I came close but I still lost." I said feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Well you know what they say, if at first you don't succeed try again." Barry said
"Yea that's pretty much the whole logic Ash went on and he beat me eventually" Paul said
"Yea you two are right, thanks guys but for now let's go." I said as we started to walk to the Battle Pike.
"I still wish I could battle first." Barry complained.
"Look the gym's a weird one anyway, it's some guy named Kouga and he's obsessed with being a ninja. It's a weird place." I said
"How do you know all this?" Barry asked shocked.
"I told you I've been to Kanto before so it's only natural I'd know some stuff." I said
"Well then why didn't you tell me anything about my other challenges?" Barry asked annoyed.
"Because when I was in Kanto the Cerulean gym was run by these three girls and they were pathetic as trainers. It was the biggest waste of time in my life. I used fire and ground type Pokémon and I still destroyed them. Yet when I came back with you guys they had that new gym leader Misty that seemed to be actually strong." I said
"Oh I see and what about the other two?" Barry asked.
"I never battled them before. There are more than eight gyms in a region so I simply challenged other gyms." I said
"Oh yea that makes sense. SO what advice can you give me on Koga?" Barry asked
"He uses Poison type Pokémon so Psychic and Ground types should do fine. However getting to him may be a pain especially for you." Paul said
"Why's that?" Barry asked
"Because he rigged the whole place with trap, Most of them are easy to avoid but he has a few invisible walls that I'm sure you'd run into." I said
"Hey don't underestimate my intelligence, I will be fine." Barry said
"Did you ever run into any traps when you were there?" I asked Paul
"... We should hurry up and get to the Battle Pike." Paul said changing the subject.
"No way, he totally did." I said to myself as I giggled a bit as I pictured Paul falling for some traps in my head. I think Paul heard me because he walked a little faster and had an angry look in his eye.
(Paul's POV)
We had finally arrived at the Battle Pike after about an hour walk (Which felt like forever thanks to Barry's stupid questions and Dawns constant giggling about what I'm sure was her imagining me falling for traps.)
"Wow it looks like a Serviper." Dawn said amazed.
"Yea I know." I said
"How cool, still I wonder what Pokémon she'll use to battle you." Barry said
"I don't know Barry take three guesses on what one of her Pokémon will be it's not that hard." I said
"How am I supposed to guess, there's like a million Pokémon and I have to think of the few she uses geese I sometimes think you guys overestimate my intelligence." Barry said
"Yea I'm sure that's the problem." I said annoyed at Barry how stupid Barry was.
"And I think a million is stretching it Barry, I think there's only around 500 Pokémon or so." Dawn said
"No way, there has got to be more than that." Barry said
"Who cares, there are exactly 493 Pokémon that we knew of in Sinnoh but there are still Pokémon from other regions like Unova. So we have no idea how many they are, more importantly stop talking about such useless topics." I said annoyed.
"Fine" Barry said sounding angry.
"Anyway let's go into the Battle Pike." Dawn said
"Hold on a second guys, I don't think we should do this." Barry warned.
"Why not" I said
"Well I what if that's not the Battle Pike and it's really just a giant Serviper. And what if it disguises itself to look like an area for people to battle, However what if the moment you enter its mouth, it eats' you whole and you'll be forced to spend the rest of your life trapped in its stomach." Barry said as his body began to shake.
"Wow Barry that's actually a really good and logical point." I said
"Really" Barry said happily
"NO! That is without a doubt the stupidest thing I ever heard. I swear you amaze me more and more every day." I said annoyed as Dawn started giggling.
"Come on I'm just trying to help." Barry said
"Fine then I'll go first and be extra careful." I said as I walked into the Serviper buildings mouth until I came to a door. "Oh my God!" I yelled trying to sound scared.
"What is it?" Barry said as he panicked.
"It's perfectly safe." I said as I heard Barry get angry over my little trick I have to admit, it made me laugh a bit.
"I swear you're a jerk" Barry said as he and Dawn walked up to me.
"Enough fighting you two and let's get in there to see Paul Battle." Dawn said happily.
"Yea let's go" I said as I opened the door. "Hello we would like to have a battle!" I yelled as I looked inside and saw the field which was half earth and half water.
"Hello is anybody home!" Barry yelled.
"Hey you three be quite and don't disrupt Queen Lucy while she's in a very important meeting." A girl said as she walked up to us.
"Sorry but we need a battle, is there any chance we could see her." I said
"Well it'll have to wait; she's having a doctor check out her Pokémon to make sure their all in top condition so leave her alone." The angry girl said
"Barbara that's enough." A serious looking girl said as she walked out of the back room.
"Queen Lucy, I'm sorry but I was telling these three to leave and challenge you another day since you're busy." Barbara said sounding sorry.
"Look if they want to battle they can they'll just have to wait a minute since I have a very important meeting with a Pokémon doctor so he can make sure all my Pokémon are ready to battle." Lucy said as I noticed a bit of red appear on her face which I thought was weird.
"And they are all just fine; in fact they're all just as fine as you are beautiful Lucy." A man said as he appeared behind Lucy out of what seemed to be thin air. But when I saw the man I recognized him from somewhere. I realized that he was the man that was always traveling with Ash and Dawn across their journey. Brock if I remember correctly.
"Brock!" Dawn said happily as she ran up to her old friend.
"Dawn, is that really you? Wow who would've ever thought I'd see you here and is that Paul and Barry?" Brock said as he looked at us.
"You bet, we're all traveling together now and we're having a great time." Dawn said with a grin.
"That's great to hear. So it's good to see you all again." Brock said
"Yea likewise I suppose." I said
"Who are you again?" Barry asked confused.
"I swear your even stupider today then on most days." I said
"Barry it's me remember when I was traveling with Ash and Dawn" Brock said looking a little hurt.
"Oh yea I remember, good to see you again." Barry said
"Brock is these friends of yours?" Lucy asked.
"But of course, they are all old friends from my travels around Sinnoh. They are all skilled trainers." Brock said
"Is that so, well in that case I suppose you guys can stay and battle me if you want." Lucy said
"Good because I'm the challenger" I said as I stepped up.
"I see well then shall we begin immediately." Lucy said
"Hold on a minute before the battle Lucy why don't you and I go out for a nice lunch just the two of us." Brock said as he grabbed Lucy's hands
"Huh?" Lucy said with a slight blush.
"Come on Lucy, it must be destiny." Brock said
"Crogunk!" A Crogunk said as it appeared from Brocks Pokeball and jabbed him in the chest by using Poison Jab.
"On second thoughts the battle may be a better idea." Brock said as he fell to the ground.
"Some things never change." Dawn said
What was he always like that? From what I remember he seemed to do that every time I saw him but then again I didn't see him much." I said
"Yea good point Paul." Barry said
"OH yea he did it a lot of the time, in fact every girl was worth hitting on in his eyes except for the few that actually liked him. How funny is that? Actually there was one girl that he liked who ended up liking him back but she ended up leaving because she thought she wasn't worthy of him." Dawn said
"I see well from the looks of it another girl likes him." I said as I whispered to Dawn.
"Yea but don't think anything of it, Brocks relationships never go anywhere." Dawn said
"What on earth are you two talking about and what happened to your leg Dawn?" Brock asked as he looked at us.
"Its way too long of a tory we'll tell you it some other time." Dawn said
"Okay then, but what did you do to her Paul?" Brock asked
"Why do people keep saying that?" I said annoyed.
"Anyway are you ready to battle." Lucy said as she seemed to regain her calm figure.
"Yea I'm fine for a battle." I said
"Hey wait a minute, I still need to change, but how will I cheer for you with a broken leg." Dawn said as she thought about it for a minute. "OH I know there are seats in the stands so I'll just cheer while I'm sitting down." Dawn said
"Please don't. Just take it easy and watch the battle." I said
"No way, this is something I always do and you know it." Dawn said
"In that case come with me, since your legs broken I'll even help you get ready." Lucy said
"Really thanks that's nice of you" Dawn said
"Lucy's may look a bit scary but she's as nice as she is beautiful." Brock said as Lucy and Dawn walked away.
"Why does she always have to do that?' I said
"Paul, one thing you must learn is to never turn down a girl when she's cheering for you. You must always be grateful." Brock said to me sounding dead serious.
"Right, I doubt you're the person to give advice on women." I said
"You're just too young to understand." Brock said
"Right, somehow I doubt it." I said
After a few minutes, Dawn and Lucy came back and Dawn was in her cheerleading outfit with her Pokémon.
"See I was quick this time." She said with a grin as she headed up to the stands and sat down.
"So then shall we begin?" Lucy said
"Yea sure, I'm game for starting right now." I said as Barry and that Barbara girl went to sit down.
"Barbara is Queen Lucy about to fight another trainer." A girl said as she and three others came to sit down.
"Yea she is this kid is going to lose big time." Barbara said
"Lucy if you want I could be the Referee." Brock offered.
"Yes that would work out fine." Lucy said
"SO how's this battle supposed to work?" I asked
"First let me ask you, how many frontier symbols do you have?" Lucy asked.
"SO far three but I plan on making it four." I said
"I see so this will be your attempt at your fourth symbol then let's make it interesting, how about we have a four on four battles for today." Lucy suggested.
"Sounds fine to me" I said
"Wow four on four, that's the most so far out of all of the frontier brains." Dawn said
"Yea let's hope Paul can win." Barry said
"Okay, this will be a four on four battle between Pike queen Lucy and Paul from Veilstone city. The challenger can substitute Pokémon but only the challenger. Now send out your first Pokémon." Brock said
"Graveler stands by for Battle!" I said as I sent out my Graveler.
"Serviper come on out!" Lucy said as she sent out her Pokémon.
I had a feeling she'd use that Pokémon. Let's see, half of this field is water and the other half is Rock so I should be able to make this work. I thought.
"Paul has a type advantage with Graveler!" Dawn said happily.
"Yea but that won't be enough to beat Queen Lucy!" Barbara said
"Begin" Brock said
"Graveler use Rollout!" I said as Graveler started to roll towards Serviper.
"Serviper counter it with Poison Tail!" Lucy said
Graveler came rolling toward Serviper, but Serviper swung its tail and hit Graveler in the head knocking it back and canceling out the Rollout.
"Try using Hammer Arm!" I said
"Catch it with your tail and then use Flamethrower up close!" Lucy said
"Graveler swung its arm down but Serviper quickly wrapped its tail around Graveler's arm to prevent it from using its arm. Serviper then shot out a Flamethrower that hit Graveler point blank. Serviper then let go of Graveler and jumped away from it.
"Use Magnitude!" I said as Graveler shook the ground and caused some damage to Serviper but the problem was it looked like it barley hurt Serviper.
"Oh no, Magnitude's power is random every time so I guess it was low this time. Paul should've used Earthquake but I guess he was hoping he'd be lucky." Dawn said
"Relying on luck huh, well that is a big part of the Battle Pike but I guess you don't have much today." Lucy said
"Shut up, Graveler uses Rollout once again!" I said
"Iron Tail!" Lucy said
Once again Graveler rolled towards Serviper but Serviper swung its tail down and hit Graveler in the head dealing major damage.
"Now Dragon Tail!" Lucy said as her Serviper's tail turned light blue and Serviper swung its tail and hit Graveler. Then Before I knew it, Graveler went back to my Pokeball.
"What the hell happened?" I asked confused.
"Dragon Tail is a move that forces the Pokémon to go back into the trainer Pokeball." Lucy explained.
"Fine then, Graveler wasn't working out that well anyway." I said
"Just what I'd expect from Lucy wonderful strategy, there's no need to dodge when she's able to counter with such beauty." Brock said happily.
"Brock comes on, I know Paul's not your friend but he's a good friend of Barry and I so please support him." Dawn said but Brock didn't hear her.
"SO what do you think Paul's going to do?" Barry asked confused
"I don't know but I do know that Brocks not being any help so we need to cheer for him full force." Dawn said as her and her Pokémon started.
Geese leave it to them to keep cheering. Either way Lucy seems to like countering attacks instead of dodging them. In that case I can use it to my advantage. I thought as I smiled a bit.
"Go Eevee!" I said as I sent out my Eevee.
"GO Queen Lucy; take care of that small Pokémon!" Barbara and those other girls said
"Use dig Eevee!" I said as Eevee dug a whole.
"Allow the attack to hit and the counter with Poison Tail!" Lucy said.
Eevee came up from the hole and hit Serviper but then Serviper swung its tail and hit Eevee.
"Use Shadow Ball!" I said as Eevee quickly fired a Shadow Ball that hit Serviper dead center.
"Keep it up Paul!" Dawn cheered.
"Now Eevee use Return!" I said as Eevee started to run towards Serviper.
"Counter it with Poison Tail!" Lucy said
Before Eevee could hit Serviper, Serviper swung its tail down and hit Eevee hard.
"Vee!" Eevee said as it got knocked back I then saw it take some damage and I knew it was poisoned.
"Flamethrower!" Lucy said
Serviper shot out a Flamethrower attack before Eevee even had the chance to recover and hit Eevee.
"Get up and fire Shadow Ball!" I said
"Let them fire it and then send it right back to them with Poison Tail!" Lucy said
Eevee fired the Shadow Ball but Serviper sent the ball straight back at Eevee. When the ball hit Eevee, it caused a small smokescreen to appear.
"Well looks like its over." Lucy said
"Return!" I said as Eevee came out of the smokescreen and slammed into Serviper. Eevee then sent Serviper flying and knocked out Serviper.
"No way, how did that happen." Lucy said sounding shocked.
"Since you hate dodging I purposely used Shadow Ball. I figured you'd be too caught up in the battle to realize it but Eevee's a normal type and Shadow Balls a ghost type move. Even though up you knocked it back at Eevee, it just passed right through Eevee and hit the ground and caused the smokescreen to appear. I figured that would be my chance to counter attack." I said
"I see, smart call I suppose."
"Serviper is unable to battle, Eevee is the winner. Don't worry Lucy I'm sure you'll get him next time!" Brock said
"I will indeed, Serviper return. GO Milotic!" Lucy said as she called back her Serviper and sent out her Milotic!
"Now it's getting serious. GO win Lucy." Barbara and the other girls chanted.
"God they're annoying. Keep it up Paul." Dawn said
"Somebody hates the competition." Barry said to Dawn as she gave him a glare.
"The first attack is yours." Lucy said
"Fine then, Eevee use Return!" I said
"Hydro Pump!" Lucy said
Eevee ran towards Milotic but Milotic fired a stream of water at great speed that slammed into Eevee and knocked Eevee into a wall and knocked Eevee out.
"Eevee is unable to battle." Brock said
"No way, that was way too fast." I said
No it's probably just that Eevee was a bit tired. I better plan on doing something else to test out its real power. I thought
"Ninjask stand by for battle!" I said as I sent out Ninjask
"So he's using his Ninjask huh, looks like he's going for speed." Dawn said
"Begin" Brock said
"Ninjask use Giga Drain!" I said as Ninjask drained some of Milotics health."
"Use Hydro Pump!" Lucy said as Milotic fired Hydro Pump and hit Ninjask.
"Ninjask use X Scissor!" I said as Ninjask cut Milotic with its arms. "Now use Giga Drain!" I said as Ninjask drained Milotics health.
"Ice Beam!" Lucy said as Milotic fired its Ice Beam and hit Ninjask.
"Get up and try X scissor once more!" I said
"Don't give it the chance, use Ice Beam once again!" Lucy said as her Milotic fired its Ice Beam and defeated Ninjask.
"Ninjask Return" I said
"Keep it up Lucy. Go GO Lucy fight win fight make it right." Barbara and the other girls cheered.
"Graveler stands by for battle!" I said as I sent out Graveler.
"Begin" Brock said
"Use Hammer Arm!" I said as Graveler punched Milotic in the face.
"Hydro Pump!" Lucy said as Milotic fired its Hydro Pump and knocked out Graveler.
"Darn it, I was hoping we could do more damage but I guess not." I said annoyed.
"All right Lucy, keep on battling hard. Just one more." Brock said
"Don't quite Paul, it's not over yet." Dawn said
"Things were starting out good for you but it looks like you couldn't keep it up." Lucy said
Darn it, she's right. I thought things were going well but her Milotic is really powerful. I know it took out two of my Pokémon in one blow and a third easily. Plus the other Pokémon I was planning on using is a bad match up. I thought.
"Don't feel bad, Milotic is tied with another Pokémon as my best. In fact Ash battled it and he only won with his Pikachu and even that was close." Lucy said
Only with his Pikachu, and Pikachu was his best and he just barely won. And she has another Pokémon just as powerful as this one in hiding. Well things don't look good but then again I've battled plenty of other unwinnable battles. Like against Cynthia and Brandon. I may not have beaten them but I always learned something. So either way I'm still going to try to win. I thought.
"Charmander stand by for battle!" I said
"Hush why Charmander, it has such a big type disadvantage?" Barry said
"Knowing Paul those four were the four he planned on using and you know how he hates to change his plans up." Dawn said
"Milotic Hydro Pump!" Lucy said
"Dodge it and use Flamethrower!" I said
Charmander jumped out of the way of the Hydro Pump and Fired Flamethrower at Milotic and hit it.
"Now use Dragon Claw!" I said as Charmander ran up and slashed Milotic.
"Twister!" Lucy said as her Milotic fired a twister and it trapped Charmander. "Now Use Hydro Pump!" Lucy said as her Milotic fired a Hydro Pump and hit Charmander.
"Charmander use Fire Fang!" I said
Charmander bit down on Milotic with fire in its mouth and caused Milotic to get burned.
"Good now use Facade!" Lucy said
Milotic then slammed into Charmander and knocker Charmander against a wall.
"Darn it, Facade deals double damage is the user is affected by a status condition like Burned." I said annoyed.
"Come on Charmander get up!" Dawn cheered.
Charmander then slowly struggled to its feet and.
"Char, Man!" Charmander yelled as the flame on its tail grew three times as big.
"Looks like its Blaze time!" I said.
"Milotic use Ice Beam!" Lucy said
"Counter with Flamethrower!" I said
The two Pokémon collided attacks but Charmander won and hit Milotic.
"Now use Dragon Claw!" I said as Charmander ran up to Milotic and slashed it. "And now Fire Fang!" I said as Charmander bit down and hit Milotic and caused Milotic to faint.
"All right Paul, two to go!" Dawn cheered.
""Milotic return. Well so far you're doing excellent. Go Arbok!" Lucy said as she recalled Milotic and sent out an Arbok.
"Another snake, fine use Flamethrower!"
"Knock it away with Poison Tail!" Lucy said
Arbok tried to knock the move away but the Flamethrower was to powerful and it hit Arbok.
"Now use Fire Fang!" I said
"Counter with Sludge Wave!" Lucy said
Arbok fired its Sludge Wave but Charmander was able to dodge it and bite down using Fire Fang.
"Now Dragon Claw!" I said as Charmander slashed Arbok.
"All right, Charmander has its motivation back!" Dawn cheered.
"Lucy keeps fighting!" Barbara and the other girls cheered.
"Use Poison Sting!" Lucy said as Arbok shot a bunch of small needles at Charmander.
"Get up and use Fire Spin!" I said as Charmander surrounded Arbok in a vortex of Fire. "Now Flamethrower!" I said
Charmander then shot out a Flamethrower at Arbok and hit it.
"Arbok let's try to defeat his Charmander, use Poison Fang!" Lucy said
"Charmander use Fire Fang!" I said
Both Pokémon lunged at each other and bit into the other Pokémon's neck with great force and power.
"Ar, bok" Lucy's Arbok said as it fainted.
"Arbok is unable to battle-"
"Char, man" Charmander said as it suddenly fainted too.
"I mean both Pokémon are unable to battle this makes this round a draw. However since Lucy still has one Pokémon left that makes her the winner." Brock announced.
"All right, way to go Lucy!" The girls cheered.
"Charmander return, excellent job on this one." I said
"Oh no Paul lost, I hope he's not feeling down." Dawn said
I then walked up to Lucy. "Thank you for the battle." I said
"Of course, and if you ever want to try again let me know." Lucy said
"Of course but I'll need to do some training first." I said
"I'll be staying in Fuchsia city for a while anyway so let me know if you guys want to talk." Brock said
"Year sure Brock we should all get together some day." Dawn said
"Well I'll be going now." I said as I left the Battle Pike.
After about ten minutes Barry and Dawn both came out of the Battle Pike. Dawn had changed back into her regular clothes and put her Pokémon away.
"Paul" she said
"So Barry has a gym battle next and then you have your contest right, you two better prepare." I said
"Hey Paul, I'm sorry about losing." Dawn said
"I don't see any reason to be. I lost because I wasn't ready. It's as simple as that but now I'll take some time and prepare." I said
"Good idea Paul, but first I have a gym battle." Barry said
"Yea just try not to lose." I said
"Like your one to talk." Barry shot back.
"I'm glad you're not bugged by this." Dawn said
"Yea I guess but like I said I rushed into the battle witch wasn't like me. Now I will take some time to prepare for another match and I'll win next time." I said
"Good and I can't wait to see." Dawn said
"Well let's had back to Fuchsia city. We should rest up for the day and get ready for Barry's gym battle." I said
"That's right and I'm going to win." Barry said as he pumped his fist in the air.
And with that we left and I knew there'd be many battles and a load of training ahead of me.

Dawn: I'm Sorry about the lose Paul.
Paul: Whatever, it happens, now I need to just get used to that battling style.
Barry: And you will but after I win my next gym battle.
Paul: Whatever, just be careful, like I said this gym leader is all about tricks and an idiot like you will likely fall for it.
Barry: Hey don't look down on me, I'm sure I'll be able to pull off a win.
