A Couple's Ordinary Holiday

Part Four

Ordering coffee at the open cafe, Nobunaga took a seat at the round table and took at sip out of the cup.

The passing people (especially the girls) were fervently glancing in his way.

Frankly he was a conspicuous man.

He was tall, good looking and had glamorous black hair.

He was a man who was good enough to take multiple glances at.

As he sipped his coffee in the fashionable open cafe, he did not know that others saw his actions as attractive.

Feeling the gaze of the women again, he began to feel irritated.

(So slow...)

Confirming the time on his watch, he understood that it's been 30 minutes since he left Kasane.

Because she should know that he's here means that she must be still looking at the items.

His irritation due to the growing unknown number of women glancing behind him grew even more.

(...I guess I should go look for her.)

She might be wandering off somewhere.

Getting tired of waiting, Nobunaga stood up from his chair.

He left the cup in its place and left the shop.*

"Tono-sama."

A voice called out to him.

Once he turned around he found his wife, Kasane, standing.

The tiny adorable creature was apologetically looking at him.

"I'm sorry for being late…"

Wryly smiling she apologetically scratched the back of her head, and the complaint about her tardiness he had thought just moments before just suddenly became insignificant in that moment.

(Such a strange girl.)

Since the day he met her, he has always thought this.

No matter how horribly irritated he felt, no matter how tired he was, whenever Kasane smiled and called out to him, everything from his anger to his weariness would disappear.

Whenever Kasane was around he felt terribly relieved.

It was as if the missing piece suddenly filled up an empty hole.

"...You're late!"

"I'm sorry~."

As Nobunaga felt no ounce of anger, he pretended to yell out in irritation.

Thinking that he was angry, Kasane immediately came to his side to apologize.

"Please forgive me. I'll make sure to cook all of Tono-sama's favorite dishes tonight."

She cutely tilted her head to the side as she clasped her hands together in from; that apologetic form was just too cute for words to describe.

If any other girl were to do the same, he would have only felt irritation, but Kasane was different.

If you're talking about my favorites then you should put yourself on the menu; which he stopped himself from speaking out loud.

Why would he say such things in the middle of a shopping mall.

"? Huh? Something's going on way over there huh…"

"There's a huge gathering of people there."

There, in the wide open area of the mall that served as a resting area was a huge crowd of people.

What's going on, to which they both headed towards the area.

"Hey are you alright?"

"Oi, oi isn't that bend in the leg really bad?"

As soon as they reached the circle, they realized an some sort of event was occurring.

In the middle of the circle was a young man cradling his leg.

His leg was bent in a weird angle.

"That person must be injured…"

Imagining the pain, she froze a little and grasped Nobunaga's shirt.

More than just an injury that leg must be fractured.

Several men and women (the guy's friends?) were going around with confused expressions, not knowing what to do.

"A-anyway isn't it a good idea to bring out a chair?"

"Y-you might be right… Shall we change locations?"

Oi, what are they thinking, carrying an injured person when they're not used to the weight?

Just as he thought the guy stumbled and the injured man cried out in pain.

Are they idiots?

Unable to stand it, he pushed away the curious spectators and stepped into the circle.

"You're a nuisance, move. I'm a doctor."

"Eh."

"To-tono-sama?"

Stooping down to the injured man, Nobunaga examined the injury.

It wasn't that bad of a fracture.

Just how in the world did this guy manage to injure himself like this in a mall?

He was about the same age as Kasane, possibly a college student.

Even though there was a girl close to him, to which he presumed to be his girlfriend, there were also a lot of other girls with him.

This balance wasn't normal.

So perhaps they were all just his friends.**

"Um, you're a doctor right? Well, is there anything you know?"

One of the guys, the injured man's companion, called out to Nobunaga.

"It's a fracture. Well it's nothing major, it should take 2, 3 weeks to heal. Don't think about rashly moving an injured person. Are you trying to make it worse?"

"I-I'm sorry…"

Nobunaga rolled up the injured man's pants and glanced at the red, swollen inflammation.

As the other guy brought back all the things Nobunaga instructed to buy, he promptly began his treatment.

"Uwahー, amazingー. That guy is really cool."

"For a doctor to suddenly pop out and begin treatment, it's just like in the movies."

Kasane only kept watch in the crowd as she heard the praises in awe of Nobunaga.

(...So cool...)

Kasane became utterly fascinated by this cool side of Nobunaga.

Instructing a number of people to precisely follow his orders, like calling the ambulance, and personally treating the patient.

(So this is how Tono-sama normally works...)

Kasane had never seen Nobunaga working before.

Well she's seen him filing away documents numerous times.

However this is the first time she has ever seen him examining and treating a patient before her.

After he finished patching the leg up, the ambulance crew showed up.

Nobunaga reported the level of injury to one of the crew. With everything now finished, he then returned back to Kasane.

"Um, excuse me, thank you very much!"

One of the guys from the group bowed his head.

Nobunaga wasn't interested.

"U-um! Really, thank you very much! U-um can we have your contact informations so we could properly thank you later!?"

"Wait, Rika!"

"Eh~, then please give it to me as well!"

Using the the etiquette of thanks as an excuse, one of the girls asked for Nobunaga's contact information.

Idiots rolling in after one another; Seeing this imprudent woman taking his action, he now beginning to regret helping the injured man.

"Ah! Um! Tono-sama."

Kasane stood in front of Nobunaga and looked up at him.

What in the world, Nobunaga widened his eyes.

"Um, well, Tono-sama was, well, really cool when applying treatment! I've never properly seen you do your work... But, um, I can't say this well, you were just really cool!"

"..."

As Kasane chattered away in great excitement, the tired Nobunaga blankly glanced at her.

Kasane wasn't the type to say things like this.

Truthfully he had no immunity against this sort of comment from Kasane.

"...Hahahaha!"

Nobunaga took hold of her head and laughed out loud.

Meanwhile Kasane became confused due to her incomprehensibility to understand Nobunaga's untimely laughter.

"So you fell in love with me again."

"Yes! M-my heart was pounding!"

"I see."

Delighted by her words, he then took her hand and began to leave the area.

He left the other women behind as they still called out, 'Um the remittance…' to which he bluntly replied, 'No need.' and left the spot.

So saving the man was a good choice, in high spirits he tightly grasped Kasane's hand.

*She put the coffee that he paid before. I'm guessing that in Japan there are cafes in which you pay at the end. Never been to one so I can't be sure about this.

**It kinda seems weird here. Pretty much Nobunaga thought these guys were on a group date so when he said that the balance wasn't normal, he meant that there was an uneven pairing. To which he came to the conclusion that they were all going out as friends.
