Chapter 36
Shadow Woman!
Stiles and his friends appeared in the living room. It was late when they got back Derek was asleep on the couch as Lydia and Erica lay asleep on either side of Eli and Cari on the floor. There were blankets and pillows under them, like indoor camping without the tent.
Isaac was in the kitchen with the rest of the coven. Allison dropped her bow and arrows beside the front door before walking into the living room and slumping down on the vacant couch.
Brien sighed as he walked into the kitchen with Scott. Jackson walked up to Stiles and patted him on the back, Stiles walked into the kitchen after Brien to get the Crystal rose from his bag before taking it and himself to his bedroom.
Stiles placed the towel wrapped crystal on his bed as he grabbed a well made wooden box from his closet and put it on his night stand and taking the blue rose and placing it inside.
Hours passed and the house became silent, Stiles sat on his bed thinking about how the next day would go, should he do it himself? Should he bring the coven, should he let everyone go and help. He was spiraling downward in the darkness of the Cryix's promises and threats. He was sure that the demon wouldn't give Derek back his feelings, it was a trick anyways he would get Derek back just to sacrifice himself, or not sacrifice himself and never get Derek back. On the other hand the potion might work, but how reliable would it be? He missed Derek's touch, his kiss, his warmth.
The sun's light slowly leaked into the room. His eyes filled with tears as he felt so alone, he wanted this to be over. He was tired of losing. He wanted this nightmare to be over.
A soft knock on the door brought Stiles out of his thoughts.
He looked over at the door as it slowly opened and Jackson popped his head in.
"Oh your awake?" The blonde werewolf said walking into the room.
"Couldn't sleep." Stiles said watching Jackson walk over to him.
"I'm pretty sure everyone tossed and turned all night." Jackson said standing before Stiles.
Stiles gave Jackson a small smile before looking away from the blonde werewolf.
"Are you okay?" Jackson asked Stiles.
Stiles nodded even though he was unsure himself.
Stiles pushed the covers off his body he wore a regular white T-shirt with his favourite batman boxers, he walked over to his closet and pulled out his red hoody, a black T-Shirt and jeans.
Jackson sat in the chair on the other side of the nightstand as Stiles stripped off his shirt and tossed it to the laundry basket.
"So Caleb brought an honest to god black cast iron cauldron this morning, their cooking that potion for Derek smells like rotting fish at the moment." Jackson said watching Stiles change not bothered by it.
"How long will it take for it to be done?" Stiles asked not even glancing back at the beta.
"Caleb said 3 maybe 4 days now that they have the ghost plant." Jackson said watching Stiles pull on his black shirt.
"Did they say how it works, if it will work?" Stiles asked turning to Jackson as he pulled his legs through each pant leg.
"No, Caleb and Brien are going to stay behind and work on it. And the rest of us will be out trapping that foul demon." Jackson said with a grin.
Stiles pulled on his hoody before sitting on the edge of his bed Just staring at his sock less feet.
"Talk to me Stiles, what's on your mind?" Jackson asked standing from the chair before kneeling in front of the honey eyed witch.
"I'm tired of this fight, I miss Derek so much it hurts, and I have a bad feeling about my plan." Stiles said meeting Jackson's beautiful blue eyes.
"I know Stiles, I can't imagine what you are feeling right now, we're all tired of the Cryix, I want to be done with him just as much as you do. What kind of bad feeling do you have?" Jackson asked.
"Like it's going to go wrong, like we're going to fail." Stiles said looking away from Jackson.
"Like Scott would say, if it does we will find a way to put things back on track. We learn from our mistakes, if we fail it was meant to be and we will find a way to fix it." Jackson said placing his hand on Stiles' shoulder.
"And hopefully you'll have Derek back in 3 to 4 days." Jackson said with a soft smile.
Stiles returned Jackson's smile before pulling his socks from his shoes.
Derek lay resting on the couch as everyone else was going over the plan in the kitchen. He slept last night but not very well, he had weird dreams all night he was in a dark room with people but he couldn't see their faces just over lapping voices like a loud room of constant chatter, he couldn't make out what was being said.
It was quiet now as he dosed off on the couch his arms crossed over his chest as he drifted to sleep.
"Derek, can you hear me?" Said an unfamiliar female voice.
"Who's there?" I said as chatter began again.
"Derek lease listn oo hat I ave to sa." The voice was hard to her as the chatter got louder.
"I can't hear you!" I yelled as the chatter muffled the voice.
I was getting angry at the chatter in the dark room, "Shut up!" I yelled as loud as I could.
The chatter stopped instantly and suddenly the people were all watching me, I could feel their eyes on me but I couldn't see their faces.
Yet they felt familiar, like I know everyone in this room.
"Who's there?" I asked walking towards the room of people.
"Derek." Another female voice said.
"I know that voice." I said walking towards the familiar voice.
"Mother is that you?" I asked walking to the tall silhouette.
Suddenly a spot light was turned on and my mother stood before me with a smile I thought I would never get to see again, her dark brown hair so beautiful as it flowed down her back and around her shoulders. Her red alpha eyes glowing at him as he smiled back at her.
"What's going on?" I asked as the unfamiliar voice spoke my name again but this time behind me.
"Derek, please you have to list to what I have to say." I watched my mother look passed me where the other voice came from, her eyes met mine again as her smile grew more warm, she nodded her head to the other voice as if telling me to go.
I nodded and turned and the spot light vanished but my mother's silhouette was still there. I passed young kids and older people you could tell from their posture and stance their age. They were my family everyone I had lost in the fire.
I now stood in front of a shadow women her hair was long and she was floating 3 feet off the floor, I could feel her eyes watching me as I walked up to her.
"Who are you?" I asked unable to figure out who she was.
"Derek, you have to speak the feelings." the women said just under a whisper.
Her mouth never moved but I heard her words all around me.
"What are you talking about?" I asked trying to understand what she wanted from me.
"Tell him, tell him what you said before the Demon took your feelings." The woman whispered again. She raised her hand to my chest as the chatter began to start up again.
"It ill et hings ight!" She said as the chatter got louder.
"What, I didn't hear that last part!" I yelled over the chatter.
Suddenly her hand shot to my chest giving me a vision.
The day the Cryix stole my feeling for Stiles, I said something as the Cryix started to steal my feelings for Stiles.
"I-I Lo-love you Sti-Stiles!" I said as the black smoke covered my eyes and crawled down my neck and disappeared into my skin.
Derek awoke as the vision and dream ended. Trusting himself up from the couch as if he had just had a nightmare. Breathing heavily as he looked around the room disoriented, catching his breath he tried to figure out what the woman's last sentence was before the chatter got loud.
Stiles walked down the stairs with Jackson. Scott walked around the corner from the kitchen meeting them in the foyer.
"Hey, glad you up, Kali and the twins will be here in an hour. You want breakfast?" Scott asked with a warm smile.
"Sure." Stiles said returning the smile.
Stiles covered his nose as he smelled a rank sent from the study. "Uh what's that disgusting smell?" Stiles asked.
"That's the potion, it's supposed to smell that bad." Scott said.
"How are you not dying from it?" Stiles asked having to cover his own nose.
"Brien put a spell on all the werewolves so we can't smell it." Jackson said with a grin.
"I see well how about sharing?" Stiles said walking fast towards the kitchen when a better smell was coming from.
Erica was making eggs with bacon, toast and breakfast sausages. The kitchen smelled great somehow the potions smell wasn't penetrating the kitchen. Which was good, you would instantly loose your appetite from the smell coming from the study.
"Wow, that smells amazing." Stiles said as his stomach growled. Stiles sat down at the oak wood dinning table as Isaac, Madison, Allison and Lilith ate their breakfast.
"I'm yours and Derek's eggs are almost done. Everyone else has eaten. There's fresh coffee in the pot if you want some, or there's tea." Erica said sorting the finished bacon and sausages onto Stiles and Derek's plates.
The toast was already sitting on the table, Stiles took one and popped it into his mouth the melted butter made the toast taste amazing as it melted in his mouth.
Stiles stood and waked over to the counter grabbing a coffee mug from the cupboard.
"Where is Derek?" Stiles asked.
"He's laying on the couch he didn't sleep well last night." Erica said taking the foggy glass lid from the frying pan, to see if the eggs were done.
"I didn't sleep either." Stiles said before taking out another coffee mug. Stiles poured the fresh coffee into the two mugs, making them up how they both liked it. 3 sugar 2 cream and 2 milk for himself, 1 sugar and 3 cream for Derek. Stiles carefully walked with the full mugs to the table before walking into the living room through the other entrance.
Derek was sitting up on the sofa looking at the fire crackling in the fireplace.
"Hey." Stiles said standing behind the wolf, "I made you a coffee and your eggs are almost done."
"I'll be right in." Derek said with a calm voice.
"Okay." Stiles said wishing for more small talk, as he turned and began walking back to the kitchen.
"Stiles?" Derek said turning to the witch catching Stiles before leaving the room.
"Yeah?" Stiles said turning back to Derek.
Derek paused for a moment not sure what he would say to the witch, "Thanks." He said instead of what he wanted to say.
"Your welcome." Stiles said as his lips quivered trying to smile. Stiles left not wanting to break down in front of the older man.
Derek let out an unsuccessful sigh, before following the young teen into the kitchen.
