Hi everyone. Last update before the poll is over. I decided that I will only let you vote on the 5th up til the time I update the story, or around that time. Just a heads up. So if you haven't voted and really want to, better do it soon! As of right now, the lineup is:
No one: 11
Artemis: 8
Annabeth: 3
OC: 2
Thalia: 2
Other: 0
No one is still pulling ahead with a whopping 11 votes, closely followed by Artemis with a lesser number of 8. Annabeth however is coming up from being in last for quite a few weeks, passing both Thalia and the OC who each have a minor number of two votes. With three votes, much more than were there just one week ago, Annabeth could make it to beat the single way of life, and the goddess Artemis in this thrilling contest.
Sorry. Had the urge to do that. Anyways, I don't say this enough, but thank you all so so much for every single review you've given me! It means so much, knowing people like your story and even want to take some of their time to let you know you did a good job. I don't deserve all these reviews, but thank you guys anyways. :) special thanks to KeybladeGuardian96, owner of review 100! That's right, we've reached 100 reviews! I couldn't have done it without all of you. Thanks so so much. Even to you viewers, thank you. I own nothing, and enjoy the chapter! PS: please ask for POVs. I can't decide who to say what when! :P
Thalia's POV
Right now, I'm trying to hold myself back from hurting Percy, seeing as he's like the little brother I never wanted but loved anyways. It's not easy to restrain myself at yhis point.
After skipping off with his 'wonderful miracle' of a sister, he yelled through the trees that he wanted the Aztecs to take us, because he didn't trust us. Seriously? It's just because of those stupid Aztecs, they're the ones that put the spell in him.
"Come on demigods. Get up," said one of the Warriors, one of the three that were appointed leader. Each leader had to lead a crew that guarded us, since we were 'untrustworthy' prisoners. The leader smiled down at me with his spiked teeth, his his beady little eye reminding me of my old pet mouse Billie Joe, after the lead singer of my favorite band, Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong. Even back then, I was into some awesome music.
Billie Joe (I'm calling him that now. Don't get confused with him and my mouse; they have very similar looks, and probably intelligence too.) switched his gaze from me to his buddies once I didn't react to his demands to stand.
Lets name the other weirdos while were at it. All the leaders will be called Billie Joe now, seeing as how my leader is Billie Joe. There's 5 people total per person. We met Billie Joe already, so now for the other four. The men in charge of keeping us quiet will be Silence, because that's how its supposed to be according to them. Pinky will be the strong one, because Nico's guy reminds me of Pinky from the TV show Pinky and the Brain. Pinky was the dumb one. Push and Shove are the others, because they're the two that home each of your arms and makes us move. Now we've got the whole team.
Billie Joe stared at his friends as they all spoke to eachother in whatever language that was. It sounded made up, and as they hissed at eachother, I tried to understand what they were saying. To me, the unexperienced easedropper, it made no sense whatsoever. But the crew seemed to understand it. Must be the language of idiots. (Hope I didn't offend anyone in the audience.)
While my group was talking, Nico's Pinky picked him up and carried Nico away, in the direction Percy skipped away in. Annabeth's Push and Shove hoisted her up by the arms, and dragged her in the wake of Nico's protests. Annabeth however said nothing; they had gagged her, which was smart for them, and unlucky for us. Annabeth is the best talker, and I bet 100 drachmas that she could've gotten them to let us go. They must've know she had Athena blood in her.
Finally, my guys finished talking. Billie Joe turned back to me, and gave me a big fake smile. "We're going, whether you like it or not. The boss wants you, so you need to come. For some reason, he needed you specifically, so you have to be alive. And not fatal wounds either, which was also a disappointment. Now get up, or you can be carried. Whichever you choose princess," offered Billie Joe.
Princess? I am not his 'Princess'. "I'm not a princess. The only Princess around here is you."
The smile became more forced. "You could be on the way to being a princess. Maybe that's why our leader wants you. Maybe he wants you to be his princess."
Ew. Do they want to get us...together? No thank you. I mean I guess in some creepy way I'm flattered, but that's kinda just gross. No offense, to anyone, but this guy is thousands of years old! I'd rather marry someone near my own age if you don't mind. Like Nico.
The guys were all looking down at me as they awaited my joyful response. Don't hikd your breath boys. "Look, I'm flattered, but what do you mean by princess?"
Silence answered, "We have only one ruler, be that male or female. Right now, the leader is a male, King Moctezumal. He needs a wife, after the last one died." They can die? "It's our custom. It's been two years since the previous princess died, and it's tradition to marry the new princess on the third anniversary of her death. That's coming up in three days. So King Moctezumal picked you, saying that you're just the girl he's looking for."
"How'd he find me?" I'll ask about the previous princess's death later.
"Through your friend Annabeth," Pinky spoke.
Wait, Annabeth betrayed us?! "What?" My voice had a dangerous edge to it.
Silence rushed to fix Pinky's sentence before I did something I might regret. "No no, she didn't tell us! He joined her in her mind and gathered information from her thoughts! And he was watching from the trees, so that's also how he saw and met you. Don't hurt us!"
I rolled my eyes. I wouldn't hurt them...too badly. Anyways, not that that's sorted out, Princess. "I won't hurt you. But what can you all tell me about the previous princess?"
"While we walk," Billie Joe interrupted. I stood and followed them as we walked the path Annabeth and Nico followed earlier. "The last princess was gotten the same way we're getting you. She was a minor Greek goddess I think, but I forget her name. Anyways, she was wanted for her beauty, like you. Dark hair, slim waist, hourglass figure, pale skin that practically glowed. Moctezumal was very pleased with her when she was first kidnapped. He convinced her brother to lead her to a clearing in a meadow, where we had hidden a trap. Once the brother left, she was caught in a cage, and it was very easy to bring her to our ruler. He was as excited as a kid on Christmas, he got a new toy. That's how he feels about all new tribal members and princesses. At first, she didn't like him and tried to leave several times. Moctezumal finally convinced her to stay, using a bit of his magic."
"Magic?"
"Yes, Moctezumal is a child of Hecate. He taught a few of he how to use magic as well. Anyways, it was such a shame. She didn't cooperate, so more magic was used than necessary. Her beautiful dark blue eyes were never the same, having been turned purple from the magic overdose. I do hope that doesn't happen to you. Anyways, after that, she stayed with us for over ten years, before dying."
"How'd she die?" I asked. I was anxious to know the answer, yet every gut instinct told me I wouldn't like it.
Billie Joe looked at me weird, but answered anyways, "She disobeyed him. The spell was only to make her not want to leave, so when we offered her exile or death, the spell made her chose death. Moctezumal accepted this, so we had a big show if taking away her immortality and sacrificing her on the alter, in front of the whole tribe. It was glorious. But now he needs a new princess. And here you are."
Oh no. I'm in trouble if that's supposed to be my fate.
