Chapter 35
Dean had stayed a bit longer by the cliff before he decided to get back to Bobby's. Once he pulled in the driveway he spotted Sam sitting on the steps of the porch, sipping a beer. He got out of the car and walked to his brother and sat beside him. Both said nothing as Sam reached to the cooler and grabbed a beer for his brother. Dean took it and twisted the cap off, taking a big sip out of the bottle. Dean looked at his brother, surprised yet again he wasn't pushing him to talk about his feelings and whatnot. Somehow it did the opposite and Dean wanted to talk.
I saw Hailey. Dean said not looking at Sam but he knew his brother had big eyes.
What?
Yeah, seems Cas can't say no to her and she wanted to see me... Zapped her right to me. He said taking a swing of his beer. Sam waited patiently for his brother to continue.
I was... I was pissed Sam. She was pregnant and kept it from us all...
She had a good reason Dean...
I know she did. I just... I should've been there, you know. I should've been the one to protect her. I mean it's my baby too, right? I had a right to know. And with everything going on... I just feel like a damn puppet. I get told what they want me to know and no more. Knowing Hailey was doing the same. I hated her for it. But then... When I saw her... standing there, all my hate just... disappeared and I knew, in my gut I knew. I could do this, you know? Save the damn world if it meant keeping them safe.
And we will Dean. Hell we got another Winchester on the way... We owe him or her an unapocalyptic world to grow up in. Sam said and both brothers clunk their bottle to that. They were silent for a long moment, just staring at the stars.
She kissed me.
Hailey?
No Cas you idiot, of course Hailey... It was a damn good kiss, but she pushed me off and for a second she seemed angry and then she started babbling, god knows what about us. You think, you think something's going on between them?
Cas and Hailey?! Dean, C'mon...
You didn't see it, the way she defended him: ''Call it whatever you want Castiel is important to me.'' And then Cas popped in not long after and told her to go bed and she just... Listened.
Look, they may be close... But I don't think Castiel is competition.
He spent 10 years in heaven's prison for her.
You spent 40 in hell for me? What's your point.
I don't know... It's been a long, long day... I guess I'm just warned out.
Yeah we should get some shut eye. Guess Hailey's coming home soon.
Yeah tomorrow. Dean said standing up
Really?! Sam asked, also getting up, with a goofy smile he seemed to always have around Hailey.
Yeah! You girls can talk about morning sickness and back pains all you want. Dean teased.
Shut up, Jerk.
Bitch. Dean smiled as they got into the house.

Morning came and Bobby was cleaning the house. When Dean woke up and shared a nod with him, Bobby knew Dean was going to step up and be there for his daughter. He wasn't surprised, they were family after all.
You ordered that windshield for the mustang yet? Dean asked as he poured himself a coffee in the kitchen.
Couple of weeks ago... why? He asked as he was sweeping the kitchen floor.
Well, since Hailey's coming home soon I thought she'd want Beauty up and running...
It's in the barn.
Dean nodded and walked out back. Bobby finished up sweeping and sat down and started writing a list. Sam came in the kitchen and poured himself a cup of coffee and sat a table with Bobby.
Hailey's coming home today. He announced happily.
Today?
Yeah. She went to Dean last night. Well Castiel popped her there.
Well... looks like they worked things out, Dean's fixing her car.
I hope so...
Here. Bobby gave Sam the list.
What's this?
Well Christmas is around the corner and we'll all be together. Thought I should start a new tradition with a turkey and all that crap. Maybe invite the Harvells too. Bobby explained and Sam lifted an eyebrow at him as a smile grew on his face.
Getting soft there, Grandpa? Sam Teased.
Just get what's on the damn list, will you? He barked back.
Yeah, you got it. Sam smiled and finished his coffee before heading out back to get the keys from Dean.
Bobby continued cleaning the house when he heard a knock on the door. He walked to the door and opened it. A smile grew on his face as he saw Hailey Standing there with Castiel behind her, covered in bags and holding more suite cases then anyone should.
Hey dad. She smiled and hugged him quickly.
Welcome home sweetheart. Bobby smiled.
Bobby let them in and shut the door.
Here let me help... Bobby said taking a few bags from Castiel.
Thank you. Castiel said.
Come on we'll put this upstairs. Bobby told the angel.
What's all this crap anyway?
Hey! That's all my clothes, I will fit in them someday, so be careful. She warned them both.
Where's Sam and Dean anyway? Hailey asked as they started up the stairs.
Sam went out to get some food... Dean's outback. Bobby called out from the top of the stairs.
Hailey nodded and walked out the back door. She smiled as she saw Beauty. Her smile faded as she saw the state the car was in. She made her way to her car.
What the hell happened to her!? She asked as she took in the dents and smashed windshield.
Dean jumped a bit, not hearing her come over. He saw her stunned face and looked back at the car.
Sammy happened. He smiled.
Sam did this?! ohhh he is in so much trouble! She said as she continued to inspect her car.
Technically Castiel did... When he killed Lilith and you disappeared, Sam was thrown onto Beauty.
Outch. Hailey said.
He lived. Dean said shrugging.
I'm talking about beauty, having a giant squash her like that? Poor car...
Of course you are. He smiled and Hailey rolled her eyes.
So where do we start?
We? Dean lifted an eyebrow at her.
She's my car, Dean.
Aren't you supposed to stay off your feet? He said and loved how she got a shade redder.
Dean's right Hailey you should be lying down. You've been packing all morning. Castiel said as he arrived next to them and Dean couldn't help but roll his eyes.
Hailey made a growling sound and stomped back into the house.
Thanks for backing me up, now she's pissed at you. Dean said smiling to Castiel.
I'm getting use to it... She never stays mad for long. Thankfully. Castiel said as he looked over where Hailey had gone. Dean couldn't help but smile.
Dean took a moment before he continued working on Hailey's car.
Hailey spent the rest of the morning lying on the couch and watching TV. Castiel had left saying he wanted to look for Anna. Bobby had been cleaning the upstairs and Dean never came back into the house. Suddenly Hailey heard the impala pull in. A smile grew as she got up and wrapped a blanket around herself before she ran outside. Sam had just gotten out of the car and saw Hailey run to him. He met her and she threw herself into his arms and he spun her around. He put her down and took a look at her.
Wow! You really are huge! Sam laughed and Hailey punched him in the chest.
Shut up! Hailey laughed
I'm kidding, you look... gorgeous Hailey.
Gosh I missed you Sammy. She pulled him into another hug.
I should have called... he started
Hey, worst best friends remember? Don't be sorry. I heard you guys have your hands full with saving the world?

Hailey had spent the day chatting with Sam, it felt like old times. Dean seemed like he was keeping his distance and Hailey was actually relieved. She was so caught up in the moment the night before she was scared she had given hope for Dean that they would be together. Honestly she was still hurt and angry. But seeing him, well and alive in front of her, his eyes so intense for her... it was easy to forget. She was snuggled into Sam's arms as they watched some cartoons and Hailey was dosing off, Dean had came in and took a shower upstairs and Bobby was fixing up supper when Castiel showed up in the living room at the same time Dean came downstairs, freshly cleaned.
I think I found her. Castiel said And Hailey sat up straight.
Anna? Dean asked.
Yes, but the place is warded against angels, I can't get through. But you both can.
What you except us to just go in there not knowing what were walking into? Dean asked.
Hailey got up and walked to Castiel's side.
If Cas thinks she's there. Then she's there, Dean. Hailey explained like it was the most obvious thing ever.
Of course you'd side in with him... Dean said bitterly rolling his eyes.
What's that suppose to mean? Hailey asked a little insulted.
Is something going on between the two of you I should know about? Dean asked Hailey hotly, pointing Castiel and Hailey.
Excuse me?! No. No see screwing angels... that's your thing Dean, not mine. Hailey said without thinking.
You told her!? Dean asked Castiel wide eyed.
It.. It slipped. Castiel said ashamed.
You son of a bitch! Dean said and practically jumped on Castiel and managed to punch him before Hailey shoved him off the angel and pushed him away.
Don't you ever hit him again! You hear me! He has done nothing but help us! Hailey practically screamed at him.
Hailey, you should calm down... Castiel told her softly.
Dean if Anna tells other angels about- Sam started to say, trying to be the voice of reason.
I know! I know... alright? Dean stared back at Hailey who couldn't look at him.
Hailey- Dean tried to apologize.
Just... Don't. Dean. Hailey said before going upstairs and slammed her door shut. Dean glared at the angel.
We're not done here. He told him threw his teeth and Castiel nodded.
Let me get my gear in the car and we'll go. Dean said and slammed the door behind him.
Sam and Castiel waited awkwardly in silence.
He slept with Anna? Bobby asked them both coming out of the kitchen.
Yes, but she wasn't an angel then... Castiel quickly answered Bobby looking away from him.
Oh. Was all Bobby said.
