Chapter 36 (Saiya POV)
"Shouldn't she be at preschool?" Kakashi questioned.
"I was supposed to pick her up at noon, but they told me you picked her up!" I started to panic. "Where is she?!"
My heart race increased and my breathing quickened and the worst thought popped into my mind: she was kidnapped.
"Someone must have used the transformation jutsu and took her from the preschool," Sakura came out of the bushes. "Most civilians can't tell the difference."
"Who would want to kidnap her?" Naruto frowned.
"That would be a very long list Naruto," Kakashi shook his head. "But only one person I can think of."
"Orochimaru," I finished quietly.
Kakashi and I looked at each other, knowing what would happen next.
"Sensei, what are you going to do?" Sakura asked quietly.
"Move heaven and earth to get her back," Kakashi said in a deadly quiet voice.
"And you're going to help us," I nodded to her and Naruto.
"We are?!" Naruto said, a little too excited for the situation. "Yes! I can finally kick that dick's ass for taking Sasuke from us!"
"He left out of his own volition," I said shortly. "We may or may not run into him. Can we trust you to not make any stupid decisions?"
At this statement, Naruto clenched his fists and pointed at me, "That snake man bewitched Sasuke into leaving. We'll do anything to get him back!"
"Well do that another time," Kakashi said calmly. "Right now, my only daughter's life is on the line."
Naruto and Sakura nodded once in agreement.
"We have to let Tsunade-sama know about this," Sakura said firmly. "Maybe she can give us some advice."
"I agree," Kakashi said quietly. "We can trust her."
So the four of us made our way back to Tsunade's office, and passed by mission center along the way.
"Hey Saiya! Where's the cutie pie?" he asked smiling.
"She's…well she got sick," I said, faking a smile as best I could. "So we have someone watching over her. I actually wanted to ask Hokage if she could whip something up to help her get better. Do you know if she's still in?"
"Uhm, so far as I know, yea," Genma said uncertainly.
At that moment, Tsunade burst out of her office and her eyes were ablaze with fury.
"Saiya, what the hell is this?" she held up a note in front of me.
I stared at the note in her hand; and my name was written on the front.
As I walked past her into her office, I took the note from her outstretched hand. Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura looked at each other uncertainly, not sure whether to follow me or not.
"Do you care to explain?" she said angrily.
"May we please talk in your office?" I said in a deadly calm voice.
Tsunade slammed the door behind me.
"Well?" she demanded.
"My daughter was kidnapped; I know what he wants, and I plan to deliver it," I said quietly.
"And what if he manages to keep it?" Tsunade said angrily. "The Uchiha Gene is forever gone from our country; I don't plan on losing yours too!"
"Well, who said I was going to let him keep it?" I said coolly. "I'm not stupid you know."
Tsunade was taken aback, and I continued.
"I came here out of courtesy to you," I said through gritted teeth. "I could be halfway to wherever by now!"
Tsunade looked at me and I thought she would blow up, but surprisingly, we both held our tempers in check.
"Three days," she muttered almost incoherently.
"What?"
"I said 'three days'!" she almost yelled. "You have three days until I send the ANBU; and they ask questions later."
"Thank you Hokage-sama," I bowed my head. "I'll be back before then."
I exited her office and went straight to Kakashi, "Let's go. The more time we waste standing around, the farther she gets."
So the four of us departed; we had no idea where to go, or where he would go. But the best place to start would be Sound Country.
"We have to go to Sound Country?" Sakura said hesitantly. "Won't that take a lot longer than the three days Tsunade-sama gave us?"
"We're not going to sleep; we'll be there in two days tops," I said quietly. "Once we have Ayome, the ANBU can be sent out and I don't care what happens after that."
We had set out with the necessary provisions only; just enough food, water, weapons, and medical supplies. It was all we needed. Instead of hours of sleep, we took power naps, twenty minutes each. Even ninjas can't go days without sleep. Most of our journey was in silence; the tension was too thick to break with just mere words.
We arrived to Sound Country in record time; 26 hours and 39 minutes.
"So, what's our game plan?" Naruto said in a low voice.
We were camped out in front of the gates of Otakagure, capital of Sound Country.
"I don't know," I said, more to myself than to anyone else.
"You don't know?!" Sakura said in a high voice.
"SH!" I hushed her quickly. "Any plan that I come up with will be dangerous."
"We're all in this together," Kakashi said, taking my hand in his. "She's my daughter too Saiya; what are you thinking?"
"Well, someone can create a diversion, while the rest of us make it inside," I said slowly, uncertain of my plan.
"Or, we can give him what he wants," Sakura said grimly.
"No! We are not doing that," Kakashi said fiercely.
"It is the easiest way," I said. "Think about it; we won't have to hide, so the risk of taking the wrong turn goes away. Plus we conserve our energy by not fighting."
Kakashi stayed silent. I looked at his face, and spoke.
"Kakashi, I promise, I'll be safe," I said softly. "We'll all be safe; I won't let anything happen to any of you."
"Shouldn't I be the one saying that?" Kakashi said listlessly.
I pulled him into a hug and whispered into his ear, "I love you Kakashi. And I promise, we'll get out of this alive, with our daughter."
I pulled away and smiled at him, "Ready to put our plan into action?"
They all nodded in unison.
"Let's do this!" Naruto said excitedly.
Phase 1: get captured. This was the easiest part. We just walked into the town, and started asking questions. We followed the ninjas to what we deduced to be the entrance to Orochimaru's hideout.
"Uhm, Saiya," Sakura said uncertainly.
"What?" I asked, irritated.
"I think we have company," she breathed out.
I heard her pull out her kunai knives. I took a guarded stance.
"Bring it on," I smiled evilly.
