Rachel:

People got to work after that like I had never seen. Any amount of fear in these camper's hearts was being forced down and covered with hope. They were all trying so hard, I could feel it. People started going through scrolls and old books from the cabin and all throughout the camp, others were preparing the Iris Message, and Annabeth and the few select leaders were sat at the center table talking over everything.

"Have you gotten that Iris Message ready yet?" Annabeth yelled from her seated position over her shoulder

"Not yet." Squeaked a frantic first year camper

"I really hope the Egyptians have some idea how to make this work," Annabeth said nervously turning back to us all "Because while this plan sounds great in theory, these things are more abstract concepts and natural forces than they are personifications. I really don't even know where to start with this…"

"It'll be okay," I said reassuringly "Working together is the best thing that we can do right now, even if it doesn't work, it's something to do and something to work towards for sure."

She nodded solemnly

"Got it!" the young camper yelled and a mirror like spray appeared in the corner of the room, it shimmered for just a moment and then through the cloudy mist the Brooklyn House began to appear. It was mostly empty and the few initiates that remained looked about as frantic and confused as our young campers.

"Are Carter and Sadie Kane still at the Brooklyn House?" Annabeth asked in a loud commanding voice into the message

A frazzled looking young girl stepped into frame and saw Annabeth; she froze for a moment but then shook off her fear.

"No, they went out to meet Gaea and the others from Camp Olympus." She stuttered forcibly

"Alright…" Annabeth said thoughtfully "Who do you guys still have at your home base that we can talk to? Is there anyone in charge who knows your library well enough to help us with some research?"

"I do." Came a smooth voice from off side of the screen

Just as the young girl moved away and out of view, Amos moved into focus.

"And where have you been all this time?" Annabeth said between clenched teeth "You know Carter and Sadie had to take over in your absence. They're leading your troops alone."

"I haven't been idle," he promised "I wouldn't call it fruitful either though." He admitted "Carter and Sadie can take care of themselves though, I have always had the utmost faith in them."

"Fine, whatever," Annabeth spat "We need your advice, but first you are going to need to put aside some common sense for a moment and just listen with an open mind. What I am about to propose is utterly insane."

He nodded.

Annabeth then gave Amos the full run down of the idea from the conception to the confusion on execution. As she talked Amos's face went through a rage of emotions, most of which I really couldn't even begin to decipher.

"Can you help us?" Annabeth said without even taking a breath after finishing her explanation

His face clouded over for a moment but then he looked up and he met her eyes fiercely.

"You really aren't kidding around over there are you…"

"No, we're not." I said pulling his attention briefly over on to me

He thought to himself for a minute. He looked conflicted just to start with, but there was a moment where I could see something shine in his eyes for a moment. They opened slightly and I saw his entire posture and body language change.

"I think I can help you," he said "But it's not going to be easy, and it may kill us all."

"Hah," I laughed, "Why am I not surprised."

"Ma'at like you said is a magical force rather than a physical being, it is not something that you can so easily harness," he told us "But we have been using it's power none the less for quite some time in Egypt."

"What does that mean for us?" Malcolm asked making himself known to Amos

"It means that If I can combine the forces of every magician that our nome has to offer then maybe, just maybe I can conjure enough of it's energy from it's dimension to place inside of a host body so that we can better use it."

"What is it with you Egyptians and putting gods inside of people." Annabeth scoffed

Just then I was reminded of her own experience hosting a goddess and I felt a strange shiver run down my spine.

'Where would you put the energy once you've harnessed it?" I asked

"Somewhere that could hold it," He said "it's not a normal kind of power after all, it would need to be in an incredibly powerful host, something that wont easily burn up when it has this much power poured into it."

"What do you suggest?"

"Someone who has already hosted a god or goddess would make an ideal host." He admitted with a shrug meeting Annabeth's eyes slyly

"Are you kidding me…"

He gave a sort of sideways smile. He wasn't.

"Fine," she agreed "But we still need to be able to use Chaos's power on the Greek side, and I'm not sure if we have the power to use that like you all."

"It's all about balance," Amos reminded Annabeth "Egypt and Greece are not so different remember—that is rather the take away from this whole experience isn't it? We all exist in the same universe so by unleashing our ultimate control on order and harmony, the universe will want to restore balance. Chaos will be pulled out from hiding and onto the playing field automatically just to restore the balance. You will just need to have another host ready to take it on."

"Sadie and Carter are just as able to take on a goddess as Percy or I," Annabeth reminded Amos "It shouldn't be a problem finding a host."

He nodded somewhat mysteriously as if he wasn't totally telling us everything but if he really was the only person who could make this work, I wasn't in a great position to start arguing and making other demands of him.

"I'm going to head down to the battle," Annabeth proclaimed "I have to get the other's ready and fill them in."

Amos nodded "I'll begin preparations, expect us to have our part done by sundown."

"We'll be ready." Annabeth agreed before running off out of the cabin and down the hill of camp.

Hey guess who is still alive. Surprise!
