Disclaimer: I do not own Total Drama. However, every OC in this story is mine unless I say otherwise.
Note: Time for the main event! The pre-merge is done, and now we're moving onto the post merge … and believe me, things are going to get very dramatic indeed! All I can say without spoilers is that gasping may be induced due to all the shocking twists and turns. Sorry for the wait this time, but I was occupied with an AWESOME online game called Epic Battle Fantasy 4; it's just plain incredible and, despite being a flash-game, is actually longer than some console games. Check it out! But before that, on with the story!
You ALL look familiar…
It was a cloudless night on Wawanakwa; the moon was out and the stars were shining. It was quite a pleasant and calm night; definitely better than heavy rainfall or freezing cold, or even a harsh wind. As the crickets chirped, Chris stood on the Dock of Shame to give the recap. Standing next to him was Cody.
"Welcome back to another super awesome and utterly breath-taking episode of Total Drama Tweenabet!" Exclaimed Chris. "Joining me for this episode's recap is none other than the unlucky in life and even unluckier in love wannabe ladies' man Cody!"
"Hey, I'm not that unlucky." Said Cody whilst looking offended. "I'm the coolest of my social group."
"The ones who wear thick specks and have acne?" Said Chris patiently.
"… Carry on." Sighed Cody.
"So, last time on Total Drama Tweenabet the thirteen remaining campers were feeling the stress of the game due to the merge rapidly approaching. Charles was panicking, Sampson was sleeping, Tilly was being devious and Larry just wanted some peace. Camp life was not stable for either team; due to Tilly secretly backstabbing Harvey in the previous episode, the so called majority alliance of the Strong Squids was full of tense emotion and raw paranoia. On the other end of the team, Otis gave Edith a Chris idol to make a big move with as part of her 'letting loose training'. That guy is crazy." Chuckled Chris in amusement.
"The Tough Tuna weren't totally stable either. Donald was still upset Yoko got voted out a while ago, Kelly, Xadrian and Quadesh were looking for idols … and Larry and Penta spend some cuddly time together. Heh, that Larry is one smooth dude." Grinned Cody slyly. "Chris's latest hair-brained challenge was a trivia quiz with an incorrect answer punished by the entire team getting dunked into the water. I personally think I'd have been quite good at that challenge had I been competing."
"You're five years too old." Chuckled Chris. "It was a very close challenge, but in the end it was the Tough Tuna who emerged victorious and thus while they spent the afternoon somewhat relaxed, the Strong Squids had to vote another person out. Tilly intended to play both sides and learnt that the Valiant Vowels were gonna vote for Sampson, most likely anyway, and also that her won alliance was voting out Otis. She decided to side with her alliance, but things are never that simple on Total Drama!"
"Yep, the Chris Idol was used on Otis at the elimination ceremony and he was able to strut to the next round. It came down to Sampson and Zanna, and with two votes to one it was Zanna who got sent packing, leaving Charles heartbroken. Time will tell if he will be able to recover from this emotional blow." Said Cody before sighing. "I feel bad for the poor kid; separated from his true love … it's a common 'geek tragedy', but he'll have to try and pull himself together.
"So, I guess that means you're rooting for Charles?" Assumed Chris.
"All the way to the end." Grinned Cody. "But if Charles can't do it, then I'd like it to be Quadesh; she's tough and cool, and she's adorable too. She reminds me of one of my cousins."
"Well, one of them might win, or they may be out very soon. Who can say for sure?" Exclaimed Chris. "Fourteen campers have fallen, and twelve are still standing, but by the end of the episode only eleven will be left. So, can Penta survive despite being a physical and social threat? Will Xadrian whittle even more fakes idols, or come up with a new plan? Will Donald ever let go of his grudge on Kelly? Will Edith make another big move? Can Charles go on without Zanna? Will Tilly still be thinking deviously? What will the campers think of the special visitors? And who will be the next person voted out of the game?"
"Find out right now on Total Drama Tweenabet, we Alpha-BET you won't wanna miss it!" Declared Cody.
"Nice pizazz; it always helps when my recap partner actually puts in effort." Mused Chris.
"Heh, thanks." Chuckled Cody.
(Theme Song, I wanna be famous)
(Strong Squids)
Tilly and Sampson were sitting by the campfire; neither looked very happy after the events of the latest elimination. Charles had gone off a while ago to be by himself and so the two villainous tweens had to make do with each other's company.
"Well … that certainly got buggered up." Noted Sampson.
"You think?" Said Tilly dryly. "We just lost our majority! Now it's an even voting field; if the merge isn't today then we might be in trouble since we have no idols. Ivy may be civil to me, but that's not gonna be enough to get by! Mierda, this is crap!"
"You're overreacting; Zanna wasn't much of an asset to the team anyway, and with her gone Charles will just be more loyal to us." Drawled Sampson.
"I'm aware of that, but Zanna was very loyal to us … I think so at least. If our alliance had managed to stick together then we would have had a third of the vote, and maybe even more if the merge is to be delayed!" Yelled Tilly. "You should have put more effort into things and searched for idols!"
"It's my fault is it? Huh; I always thought you were the leader out of the alliance; it's the leader's job to lead, not the follower." Said Sampson without much interest.
"I would have thought you've be a bit more concerned about the possibility of losing power." Frowned Tilly. "Or is worrying just too much work for you?"
"I'm not a threat to the others in challenges; why would they vote me out?" Smirked Sampson.
"Because you're a dick?" Suggested Tilly.
Sampson just shrugged and lay down to look at the stars.
"Well, it'll be the merge very soon, so we'd best be prepared for it; we'll be dealing with six extra votes in the next ceremony and it could be dangerous … not for me of course, but maybe for you or Charles." Smirked Tilly.
"We'll see." Shrugged Sampson.
"… Whoa, you really are dull and dryer than sandpaper." Said Tilly flatly.
(Confessional: He's dryer than the Sahara Desert.)
Tilly: I'm not emotionally effected by Zanna leaving, but voting out Harvey put me in a muy awesome position … but with a paranoid nerd and a lazybones as my main allies this is mierda for my game. I hope the merge is soon so I can jump ship if needed, and I will probably need too.
Edith, Ivy and Otis were in the treehouse and were feeling pleased that they had all evaded elimination for two ceremonies in a row.
"It was soooooo cool! They were all like 'you're doomed Otis' and you were like 'no way' and I was like 'I wanna watch TV' and then Charles was like 'NOOOOOO' and it was awesome; you should have been there … oh wait, you were!" Exclaimed Otis. "Edith, you really impressed me; that was an awesome move!"
"Thanks Otis; I tried." Smiled Edith. "Sorry we didn't vote out Sampson, but I figured that Zanna was the much better option. The idol radar on her phone was too much risk, and so I had no choice but to show her the door … or should it be stairs?"
"I don't think it matters; we're all safe and that's the important thing." Smiled Ivy.
"Indeed it is; now we're in the final twelve and things are going great. If the merge isn't for a few more day then I say it's no big deal; I feel we could eliminate the other three without too much trouble. They haven't exactly managed their alliance very well recently." Giggled Edith.
"It's not a good idea to get overconfident." Cautioned Ivy.
"I'm sorry Ivy, it's just that overcoming the odds twice in a row is making me rather optimistic for the future; especially since we're equal to the others now in terms of numbers." Explained Edith.
"I stink at math and even I know that Edith is right." Added Otis. "But good times are ahead, so we can just goof off and make Sampson squeal like a piggy wiggy!"
"You know what …even though I'd rather not make Sampson 'squeal', goofing off sounds fun." Agreed Edith. "Perhaps another prank, maybe on Courtney?"
"Now you're thinking!" Grinned Otis with a thumbs up.
"… Childhood is starting to be fun again." Said Ivy with a smile and a soft voice.
"What do you mean Ivy?" Asked Edith.
"My sexuality was the source of so much worrying and fear, and Ub only made it worse and made me feel self-loathing … but you know what? At this point I'm ok with being bisexual and I'm seeing reasons to smile again. It's be a hard summer for me so far, but I think I'm starting to have fun in this show again." Explained Ivy emotionally. "It's really been a summer like no other…"
"Yay for Ivy not being an emo!" Cheered Otis.
Edith and Ivy rolled their eyes.
"I just hope mum and dad and all my family will be ok with the fact I like boys and girls." Said Ivy in a nervous and quiet voice.
"They'll be fine with it." Assured Edith.
"And if not, you can move in with me; we'll stay up late and watch adult television!" Offered Otis.
"You're not exactly calming me down Otis, but thanks anyway." Stated Ivy. "Well, all we can really do now is settle down for the night and see what tomorrow brings."
"Hopefully another victory for the Valiant Vowels." Grinned Edith.
"Might as well call ourselves the Vicious Victorious Vagabonds." Chuckled Otis.
"The others should beware our alliteration of doom." Smirked Edith.
(Confessional: Edith is getting a bit cheeky lately.)
Edith: Ever since I stopped being a stickler for the rules and started listening to Otis I've been having a lot more fun in this contest. He's right; it really is better to just stop worrying and to just have fun. I'm actually starting to become a teensy bit of a threat; heh, looks like that handsome boy really helped me find myself, metaphorically speaking.
Otis: The student of becoming the master … but I'm not the master of chaos, I'm the Overlord of it! The merge is coming soon and that sounds like a good chance to cause a ton of trouble; just gotta make myself look like a waste of a vote and I'll stick around day after day to cause more mayhem!
Ivy: Edith and Otis are like two peas in a pod … a pod of naughty behaviour. But I don't mind; we're all kids and should be having fun, rather than worrying over one's sexuality and such. I still don't know what I'll say to my mum and dad, but hopefully I'll think of something by the time I'm heading home…
Charles was alone in the woods; after his girlfriend had been voted off he had needed some alone time. Currently he was in full-on despair mode due to Zanna's departure,
"Why? Why did Zanna have to go! This is worse than when Dobby died, sorry about spoilers! She was the Hermione to my Ron, the Paula to my Ness, the Princess Peach to my Marion … and now she's GONE! Woe is me, it is such a 'Geek Tragedy' full of despair! Where is the light at the end of the tunnel; Zanna, oh Zanna, for where art thou Zanna…" Sobbed Charles as he sat on a log and quietly sobbed into his hands. "I should have looked for more idols; I could have prevented this from happening."
As Charles wallowed in his pit of gloom and sadness a figure approached him. Charles didn't notice that somebody had sat down next to him and only reacted when the person put a hand on his shoulder. Charles looked up and saw that Courtney had sat next to him.
"Oh, good evening Miss Courtney." Greeted Charles. "How are you?"
"I'm fine, but you are clearly not. What's got you so upset?" Asked Courtney sympathetically and in concern.
"The Chris Idol was played and Zanna got voted off … I failed to do anything about it." Sniffled Charles. "She was a really special girl … I love her with all my heart, yet I couldn't save her."
"There was nothing that could be done Charles; it's just one of those things." Said Courtney gently. "She'll be alright and she'll be cheering for you from the Playa … and she won't want you to be upset, she'll want you to keep calm, stand up strong and press onwards without her."
"But how can I do that? She was my emotional support." Admitted Charles.
"And now it's time for the training wheels to come off." Said Courtney reassuringly. "You've done very good so far Charles; you've always held onto your morals, you've got my just fine without Ricky, you really gave Ub a piece of your mind when he went way too far … and now what you are going to do is overcome this little bump in the road and you are also going to take this game by storm! You are Charles Johnson and you shall go far, and you know why?"
"… Why?" Asked Charles while feeling a little better after hearing Courtney's encouragement.
"Because you are a strong boy, far stronger than you realise and you are the smartest player on this island … and furthermore, I believe that you can do it and I am almost never wrong!" Exclaimed Courtney in determination. "Things may be rough sometimes, but have faith it'll get better and things usually will."
"… Thanks Courtney, I appreciate your support." Said Charles gratefully. "You know what … you're right. I may have been knocked down, but I'm gonna get back up and either win the game, or get voted off after trying my best. It won't be easy, but I'm going to try!"
"That's the spirit!" Grinned Courtney. "Oh Charles, you know … I really wish I had a little brother like you; it'd be wonderful."
"Gee, thanks Courtney." Said Charles shyly while looking quite flattered. "And I wish I had a big sister like you."
"I'm gonna miss being your mentor, and I'll miss hearing you call me 'Miss Courtney' in such a polite way. You're a great kid, and don't let anybody make you think any differently." Said Courtney as she ruffled Charles's hair.
"Why are you not gonna be the mentor anymore? Oh … is it the merge?" Asked Charles.
"I'm not allowed to confirm or deny that." Said Courtney whilst winking.
"Well … maybe after the show we could be pen pals." Suggested Charles. "I've always wanted one, and you're my favourite of the original Total Drama cast, even moreso than Harold at this point."
"… I'd be honoured to be pen pals with you." Beamed Courtney. "Now off to bed with you young man, you need rest since it'll be a big day tomorrow."
Charles chuckled and got to his feet.
"Right away Miss Courtney." Saluted Charles.
(Confessional: AWWWWW! Courtney does have a heart!)
Charles: It'll be hard to stay on top during the merge … but for my beloved Zanna, and for Miss Courtney, I shall try my best and I'll play a strong and honourable game! I already have three votes in my alliance; that's a quarter of the vote. I just need a few more and I'll have a majority. … Maybe this won't be so bad after all…
Courtney: (She smiles). What a sweet kid; the world needs more boys like Charles.
(Tough Tuna)
Larry, Penta and Xadrian were in their team's shelter. Larry and Penta lay down side by side while holding hands, and Xadrian sat by the entrance to the shelter while looking to be deep in thought.
"I really am glad that we won the challenge; if we didn't then my pretty little posterior would have gotten the boot out of here." Said Penta with a sign of relief.
"That wouldn't have happened; we've got half the vote and you could win any tie breaker." Assured Larry.
"Maybe, but the merge has got to be close and since some of the others see me as a 'physical threat' I'm not gonna get overconfident or assume anything." Stated Penta. "I'm not really much of a strategic thinker since I leave the big thinking to others; my main strategy is to just win challenges."
"A simply strategy, but sometimes it's best to keep things simple and not overcomplicate them." Shrugged Larry. "I have confidence that we can make it far together; we've survived this long, why not a whole lot longer?"
"Yeah, let's go for gold!" Agreed Penta. "Or green in this case since the prize is money, not a trophy."
"Before that, we have to mop up none other people … but if I can corpse camp kill somebody for two hours on X-box, then I can take out nine other people." Mused Larry. "Hey Xadrian, you're pretty quiet; something on your mind?"
"… Ah'm thinking th't we're gonna have ta be th'nkin' deviously in that comin' days." Stated Xadrian. "We're in tha t'p r'nks now, and tha merge is g'nna be mighty soon. Ah b't oth'rs are g'nna be playin' hard, so ah th'nk we sh'd beat 'em to it an' take out mighty deviously like befur they c'n react."
"Playing the villain? Sounds fun to me." Nodded Larry.
"I don't feel really comfortable with that." Admitted Penta.
"We ain't g't a choice." Shrugged Xadrian. "Thar is a time fur bein' nice an' a time fur doin' whatev'r it takes ta w'n, an' right now ah'm g'nna be takin' tha necessary st'ps ta get through the bottlen'ck of the early merge. An' ah ain't g'nna be alone in doin' th't, oth'rs will be playin' h'rdball too; ah've come th's far an' ah ain't g'nna get kn'cked ta tha bottom."
"Just try not to get into too much trouble; if you anger enough people it'll be all over for you." Cautioned Penta.
"Ah'll be fine, I still gots th'ngs ah c'n fall b'ck on." Said Xadrian confidently. "Ah need tha money badly, an' ah ain't g'nna let it pass me by, ah c'n assure ya'll of th't."
"Oh, we believe you." Assured Larry.
(Confessional: Even 'good guys' can be bad sometimes.)
Xadrian: Ah g't mah fake idols, but b'yond th't ah also g't comm'n sense an' a functionin' brain, an' those c'n be a might deadly combo. Winnin' immun'ty w'd be a g'd idea, but if ah ain't able ta do th't, ah c'n always j'st try an' eliminate s'mdody ah dun't w'nt around.
Larry: Penta seems to be worried about her place in the game. I can't say I blame her really since her military training makes her a threat in challenges … eh, I suppose it's possible to protect her, and I'll try my best. I want to go to the end with her, but could I win against her? I really dunno…
Penta: I think it's a good thing I am friendly and play socially. If I didn't have such great friends then I'd be done for. If only Kelly was still my friend; I wish I knew the full story of her home life, but I know full well she's not gonna tell me … not like she has to anyway.
Kelly and Quadesh were hanging out in the cave of the campsite; Quadesh looked rather cheerful and pleased that they had managed to win the challenge while Kelly seemed quite thoughtful and was staying quiet.
"Two wins in a row; I'm telling you Kelly, with the numbers equal once again we might trounce the other team for as long as it takes us to merge. I'll admit we have a few more threats on our team, but there are some on the other side I'd like to be gone soon. Oh well, no need to worry about it now; all we need to do is settle down, have a good sleep and dream of nice things." Said Quadesh quite cheerfully.
"You look surprisingly chipper." Noted Kelly.
"How could I not be? We're in the final twelve and the merge has got to be tomorrow … and if it somehow isn't, it's not dig deal since we can just win the next challenge because we have the better team. It seems that, at last, things are really starting to go by way … for the time being at least, but I'll make the most of it while it lasts." Explained Quadesh.
"… I see." Noted Kelly.
"Seriously; lighten up could you? We should be happy we won; you look more depressed than Squidward." Said Quadesh flatly.
"Sorry, but I'm just feeling tense. Every day I worry that I'm going to get voted off and let my family down; I haven't exactly got the best reputation at the moment." Admitted Kelly. "If the merge is tomorrow then the next twenty four hours are really going to make or break me."
"You'll just have to try your best; my daddy always tells me you can't do more than your best … though I suppose that in reality TV it's a requirement to give a hundred and ten percent in everything you do." Mused Quadesh. "Hmm, I wonder who the Squids voted out."
"With luck it'd be somebody who could be a problem for me, and you." Sighed Kelly. "Guess we won't know for certain until tomorrow."
"Until then let's go to sleep." Suggested Quadesh as she settled down. "I want to have the unicorn dream again … err, please pretend you didn't hear that."
"Will do." Smirked Kelly with an eye roll.
(Confessional: Quadesh seems to be girlier than she lets on…)
Quadesh: It may be odd to see me so cheerful, but how can I not be? I'm doing awesome at the moment! Nobody is targeting me, I have allies, my team is kicking the other team's bum and the best part is that my daddy will be so proud me of! Isn't winning wonderful? Here's to a great merge!
Kelly: I'm very mixed on the merge to say the least; on one hand I am at the mercy of eleven other people, some of whom don't like me much … but on the other hand, I can make nice with some people I don't know very well and I'm defiantly not gonna be a threat to them for my strength. It'll be hard, but for my family I shall eliminate everybody standing between me and the money!
Donald was by himself in the woods; he felt tired, but he just couldn't go to bed yet. He was currently looking through some photo's he had taken with the camera built into his PSP; the one he was currently focusing on a picture of him and Yoko embracing in the Neutral Zone (which Otis had taken for them). A small tear exited Donald's eye as he gazed at the picture.
"Yoko … I miss you so much…" Said Donald softly. "You've only been gone for a few days and already your absence has created a huge hole in my heart … I just wish I could talk to you again, even for just a few minutes … it'd help my emotional state…"
(Confessional: Heartbreak can be quite sad sometimes.)
Donald: Now that my anger has subsided … I'm just feeling depressed. Without having Yoko here to hug me, cheer me up and share her innocent views on the world, what do I have? Nothing, except maybe depression. And I keep worrying about her; how is she doing at the Playa? Is she enjoying herself, or is she getting bullied by somebody? She's a sweet girl, but she might succumb to a bully … I feel so worried…
As Donald sat on a log feeling gloomy somebody was approaching him, though he didn't hear them approaching.
"Heartache sucks." Sighed Donald.
"Want to talk to somebody who understands how you feel?" Asked Geoff as he sat down next to Donald.
"Oh, hey Geoff. I didn't heart you coming." Said Donald as he turned to his guest.
"I can be pretty darn stealthy when I want to be." Chuckled Geoff. "So, how are you feeling Donald?"
"Why do you want to know?" Asked Donald suspiciously.
"Just asking. I mean, I've noticed you have been feeling pretty down lately, and heartache is totally not a fun feeling, you know? I mean, when Bridgette got voted off last season I felt like the party had truly ended … I know what you're going through." Said Geoff gently. "Want to talk bro to bro?"
"What is there to talk about? Yoko is gone, I feel upset, Kelly must pay … simple really." Shrugged Donald. "It's no big deal."
"You and I both know that isn't true, dude." Said Geoff patiently. "You've gone a little nuts lately; I mean, you've been consumed by the urge for revenge. How do you think Yoko would feel if she saw the boy she loves acting mean, devious and full of anger? Yoko doesn't like negative things; would she really want you to be acting like this?"
"… It has to be done, I'm avenging her." Said Donald quietly.
"Yoko isn't one to hold grudges; she would want you to focus on the positives, not get consumed by the negatives. Don't you remember how sweet she always was; not once did she ever desire revenge nor hope that people would 'get what they deserve' … Yoko may not be happy to see you like this." Cautioned Geoff.
Donald looked guilty.
"… I was just doing what I thought was right…" Said Donald quietly. "Yoko was used and backstabbed by a bad girl … I thought Yoko would want payback…"
"It's not too late to get ahold of yourself and calm down. Your inner party isn't over yet." Assured Geoff. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask … why do you want to be a villain anyway? You're too nice to do a good job at it, and you're playing the game nicely, for the most part, rather than how Heather did."
"… Back home most people see me as some kind of evil person due to all the misfortune that follows me around. They avoid me and think I'm a jinx. After a while I decided that if the world sees me as a villain I might as well be one, and I also figured winning this show in a villainous way might be a good way to start as one." Admitted Donald. "Why fight the inevitable, right? How can I be a good guy if nobody gives me the chance to be one?"
"But dude! Somebody does see you as a hero … Yoko does." Smiled Geoff in a comforting way. "She gave you a chance, she was always sweet to you, she defended you from that burger monster … and she bought out the best in you. I don't think you're a villain or a bad person … it's just that other people don't invite you to the party, metaphorically speaking. You're a good dude, not a bad dude … and Yoko is a sweet dudettes for showing how much of a good dude you are." Grinned Geoff.
"… You may say the word 'dude' way too much, but you sure know how to make a guy feel better." Said Donald gratefully. "So, I guess I should focus on the positives rather than the negatives, huh?"
"Exactly. You are what you are and you are not a villain or a big silly meanie pants, you're you and that's for sure, so don't be a villain anymore." Advised Geoff. "I can't do things to change the outcome of the contest … but if you want my opinion, maybe you should try to be a hero, or maybe a party master of some kind? You might be happier if you do."
"… I'll give it a try. Thanks Geoff, you're a true dude." Smiled Donald.
"Aw shucks, you are too kind." Chuckled Geoff. "Anyway, it's getting late … I may not be able to force you to do anything, but I'd advise you to go to bed; it's gonna be a big day tomorrow."
"Now that you mention it, I am feeling pretty tired. I think I'll turn in … thanks for the words of wisdom Geoff." Said Donald politely.
"I just do what comes naturally." Grinned Geoff.
(Confessional: Party on dudes!)
Geoff: What can I say? Being the eldest of five brothers makes me know how to be the 'big brother' quite effectively. Heh, I rock.
Donald: Geoff is right, I've been so consumed by my desire to avenge Yoko that I didn't think about how Yoko would feel about it. Maybe I should stop acting so badly … maybe I should just always have her in mind, and maybe be a bit nicer from now on. That should be my new philosophy, asking myself 'would Yoko approve of this'.
(Strong Squids)
The next morning the six members of the Strong Squids were sitting around the campfire eating breakfast. They had now finished off the last of the food that was in the food crate and so they'd soon be back to forest food. Otis was quick to raise a very important question…
"Hey Sampson, you didn't eat much for breakfast; I'd have thought you'd eat a ton of food since you're fat." Noted Otis.
Sampson frowned and looked affronted.
"I'm not a glutton nor a piggish slob; I'm just lazy and any excess weight I have comes from a lack of activity, not from stuffing my face." Frowned Sampson.
"Could have fooled me." Shrugged Otis.
"Hey Charles, how are you feeling? Losing Zanna can't have been easy." Said Ivy sympathetically.
"I felt miserable last night, but I feel much better now. Courtney talked to me and gave me the comfort I needed." Assured Charles. "I'm back to my normal self, or as normal as I can be at least, and I'm ready for whatever comes next! No paranoia here!"
"Thank goodness." Nodded Tilly. "It's not easy having to calm down a paranoid ally ya know."
"I'm aware, but hopefully my nerves will be under control for the near future." Chuckled Charles. "By the way, whose idea was it to vote out Zanna?"
The 'Valiant Vowels Alliance' exchanged glances and Edith nervously raised her hand.
"Sorry…" Apologised Edith. "But we had no choice … well, we did, but Zanna was the best option."
"Care to tell me why?" Requested Charles.
Edith was spared from answering this question due to the sounds of a helicopter. The tweens looked up and saw a helicopter slowly descending from above. Soon it had landed completely; as it did so Courtney approached the tweens from her cabin.
"Well guys, today's the day … I am no longer going to be your camp mentor." Stated Courtney. "It's time for a new phase of the game, and this helicopter will take you there."
"Is it the merge?" Asked Tilly with a grin.
"You'll find out soon enough." Assured Courtney. "Don't worry about your luxury items; the nameless interns will bring them to you later today. When I first saw this team I had no idea this would be the six who made it … mainly since the girls weren't here back then and you three guys weren't my first picks for getting far … but you've surprised me, something I thought to be impossible. All I can say … is good luck on the next leg of the contest."
"I won't let you down Miss Courtney." Saluted Charles.
"Thanks; I'm gonna need all the luck I can get if I am to keep causing as much mayhem as I do. I'm still wondering how to make the best of the stick of dynamite." Pondered Otis.
"You mean you haven't used it yet?" Asked Edith in surprise.
"Nope; I'd prefer to make it go out with a bang … literally." Chuckled Otis.
"Where do you keep it anyway?" Asked Tilly.
"In my back pocket. And don't ask how I fit everything in there; if fictional characters can stuff swords, animals and pianos into their pockets, then why can't I stuff disproportionately large things into my pockets?" Reasoned Otis.
"Mainly the laws of physics." Stated Charles.
"Laws were made to be broken I guess." Mused Tilly.
"So, where exactly is the helicopter taking us? Another part of Wawanakwa?" Asked Ivy.
"Nope; you're doing to a different island." Stated Courtney.
"Boney Island…" Gulped Charles.
"Nope, it's a place that Chris calls 'Stranded Island'. Good luck, and don't let me down!" Ordered Courtney.
The six teens saluted (Otis with his left hand) and filed onto the helicopter. A moment later it started to raise into the air.
"Now that they are gone … time for a bubble bath." Decided Courtney.
(Confessional: Bubble trouble!)
Edith: Looks like the merge is only a few minutes away … awesome! But that means I'll attend every elimination ceremony from now on … oh gee, I'm gonna really have to make a move a minute at this rate; my conscience is gonna end up more guilty than Ace Swift in Turnabout Storm … oops, sorry about the spoiler…
Tilly: The merge should be fun; I'm in a muy awesome position and nobody is toppling my proverbial house of cards. I'm the queen and everyone else is the one of hearts.
Charles: The time for being a neurotic wreck is over. Now is the time to get dangerous!
(Tough Tuna)
Like the Strong Squids, the Tough Tuna were sitting around their campfire pit. The current topic of conversation was the looking merge and how it was going to change the way the game worked.
"The merge should be fun; it's nice being on a team, but being merged means more people to hang out with." Said Penta cheerfully. "Though I suppose it means more votes to be vulnerable to."
"Unless you win immunity." Added Larry.
"Good point; and that's another thing to worry about … the challenges might seriously spike in dangerousness." Gulped Penta.
"You don't have to worry about that; you've got strength and army training. I'm the one with the rotten luck and the monster hunting me down." Stated Donald. "It's not pleasant."
"Obviously." Agreed Kelly. "Make sure to watch your back; you wouldn't want it to sneak up on you."
"Believe me, I'm always doing that." Assured Donald.
"Ah r'ckon t'day is g'nna be a mighty big day." Said Xadrian while gazing at the clouds. "Ah j'st got a feelin' it's gonna be somethin' special."
"… Do you know something that we don't?" Frowned Kelly.
"Maybe, but th'n ag'n maybe n't." Smirked Xadrian.
"I hate it when people talk in riddles." Groaned Quadesh. "Is it really so hard to just talk normally?"
"It must be' tons of people insist on talking like that." Sighed Larry. "Best we can do is put on our thinking caps and try to figure out what the heck the riddlers are saying."
"Here comes Geoff; must be challenge time." Noted Kelly.
Geoff approached the six tweens and then blew into a party horn.
"Congratulations dudes! You've made it to the final twelve! You know what that means?" Grinned Geoff.
"Tha m'rge?" Guessed Xadrian.
"Maybe, but I can't confirm anything." Chuckled Geoff.
At that moment a helicopter slowly descended down into the camp site. As it touched down to the ground Geoff continued speaking.
"This radical helicopter is gonna take you to your new home for the rest of the contest. It'll be on a new island, so you're gonna be doing a little bit of exploring most likely. The luxury items will be bought to your new camp by the nameless interns." Explained Geoff. "All I can do for your now is wish you good luck since I won't be your camp mentor anymore … but dudes, it has been a radical honour to be your mentor. Peace out bros! … Oh, and dudettes as well!"
After a last farewell the six tweens filed aboard the helicopter; before they left Geoff signalled Donald over.
"What is it?" Asked Donald.
"I just want a quick favour; if you see Edith, tell her that I wish her good luck and that I'm proud of how well she is doing." Requested Geoff.
"Sure, I can do that." Nodded Donald. "See you around Geoff … and thanks for that talk last night."
"My pleasure bro." Assured Geoff.
Once Donald was on board the helicopter, the flying vehicle ascended into the air and took off to the new island.
"Well, now that I'm not camp mentor anymore … this calls for a retirement party! Woo!" Cheered Geoff.
(Confessional: Party on!)
Quadesh: Looks like the merge is here … yay! Daddy is gonna be so proud of me!
Kelly: I'm expecting problems to arise soon, but I'm sure opportunities will arise as well … as long as I shift the target to somebody else, I should be fine.
Xadrian: (He cracks his knuckles). W'll, time ta g't busy!
(New Campsite)
Soon enough both helicopters touched down on the beach of the currently unexplored Stranded Island. As the tweens filed out of the helicopters that saw that Chris was already there; next to him was what looked like a blackboard covered by a large cloth. There was also a red flag set into the ground nearby with a picture of a lobster on it. Also set up was a paper barrier, the type that people typical break through for a dramatic entrance. Once the twelve tweens were assembled Chris began to speak.
"As you can all see, Zanna was voted off last night." Stated Chris before throwing his arms up grandly and grinning to the camera. "Congratulations final twelve! You guys have done what fourteen others epically failed at doing … you've made it to the merge! The teams are no more; from now on it is every camper for themselves and only one person can win immunity per challenge."
Several campers cheered while others looked nervous or anxious.
"Since you've made it to such a milestone, I'd like each of you to make a confessional about how you feel about getting so far. And please, alphabetical order." Requested Chris.
(Confessional: Achievement Unlocked- Merge time!)
Charles: It's not been easy for me so far; in addition to panic attacks I've lost Ricky and Zanna, and unknowingly helped out a monster … but you know what, it's time for a fresh start. The pre-merge wasn't perfect, but the merge is gonna be my time to shine!
Donald: Getting to this stage has been as hard as I expected it to be … but it's been a lot more enjoyable then I had figured. I met a wonderful girl, and I'm starting to feel better about myself. I'm going all the way, both for myself and for the honour of my family!
Edith: It's been an emotional journey so far. I had my first crush … and first rejection, dated a girl to keep her happy and then dealt with the fallout … and now I'm learning how to be naughty. Will I be the same person by the end of this show? Either way, keep it coming!
Ivy: I've really come a long way; it's not been easy or totally enjoyable … but I'm growing up. I've made good friends, stood up to pure evilness, came out of the closet and been in an alliance or a few. I'm both nervous and excited to find out what will happen next.
Kelly: Getting here wasn't too hard, though I feel I've been lucky as well. Like it or not, I have to eliminate the other eleven people and I'll do whatever it takes to kick them out and win the money for myself and my family. It's cruel, but we live in a cruel world. Question is, who do I get rid of first?
Larry: Eh, no big deal; it's only the merge. We saw it coming a mile away, if not further. But … I'm having a good time. I mean, I got a girlfriend, so my attitude has to be improving somewhat. Bring on whatever comes next.
Otis: What, you want me to say something deep and profound? Err, ok … when we sit on the toilet we excrete our fear and anger into the bowl of prosperity … how was that?
Penta: I've been loving it here so far; I'm able to act as I want to and I've found love. I don't even think I've had a vote cast against me yet … let's see if I can keep that up. My plan is simple … win every single challenge until I win the whole show.
Quadesh: Getting here has been a struggle; among getting votes against me, my first friend being voted off and being left in the rain I'm surprised I'm still standing … but daddy calls me his little winner for a reason, and that reason is that I'm not a loser! I'm gonna bring home gold … and green as well!
Sampson: Ideally my fake twist would have lasted longer, but it doesn't matter anymore. I'm no threat in challenges, so I can just sit back, slip into the background and let the powerful players tear each other apart, and then I'll mop up whoever is left.
Tilly: (She has twisted her legs behind her neck). It was muy easy and simply getting this far; the others were either loco or estúpido, or both. I've got plenty of allies, no enemies, no target on me and in a short while I'll have five hundred thousand dollars too. Let's get this party started!
Xadrian: Ah nev'r' expected ta m'k friends, but ah dun't mind; it ain't a bad feelin' ta h'v friends. St'll, only one pers'n c'n win an' its g'nna be me, and ah'll do anythin' ta ensure ah'll be tha l'st camp'r standin'.
After the campers had all used the confessional Chris gathered them up again to continue his explanation of the merge.
"Now, since this is a new campsite you're going to need a new shelter. Your luxury items will be bought here later, but for now you only have the cloths on your back. Also, every idol that was not found on Wawanakwa has now been moved to Stranded Island and rehidden." Explained Chris. "The new challenge field is to the north of here in the jungle … well, forest jungle. It's not much of a walk, so there's no risk of anybody getting lost."
"What about the other landmarks of Wawanawka that we didn't see?" Asked Ivy.
"They never really existed; it was just a way of hiding this island hopping twist." Said Chris casually. "Anyway, with a new phase in the game come new twists … such as these!"
Chris then pulled the sheet off the blackboard which revealed the board itself to the campers along with four photos taped onto it. The photo's showed idols in the shape of the heads of Justin, Eva, Katie and Sadie.
"More idols?" Groaned Quadesh.
"They're getting a bit overused." Stated Larry.
"Maybe so, but they'll certainly help you out, I can assure you of that." Grinned Chris. "Anybody want to hear what they do?"
"Ah th'nk ev'ryone does." Said Xadrian flatly.
"Ok then, here we go. The Justin Idol will allow you to see the voting parchments, face down, and then you can burn three of them, which will then not count. It's a big gamble, but it could be effective if luck is on your side." Stated Chris. "Use after the votes are cast and before the safety symbols are handed out."
"That sounds a little too risky for me." Frowned Charles thoughtfully.
"The Eva Idol is a tricky one. It is used after the votes are cast, but won't give you immunity. Instead, you can choose three other people who will be forced to change their vote from what it was originally with no time to strategies. Might bugger up a few plans." Chuckled Chris.
"I might need that one." Said Kelly quietly.
"And that brings us to the Katie and Sadie idols; since the campers they represent are BFF's who do everything together, it's only fitting that these idols have the exact same function. They really will make an elimination brutal." Smirked Chris.
"Dare I ask how?" Winced Edith.
"Remember how near the start of the contest I said originally I wanted to catapult the losers off the island? Well, playing this idol before the safety symbols are handed out will make Chef Hatchet set up the Hurl of Shame, a massive catapult which will hurl the loser off the cliff and into the sky. No real gameplay benefit, but it could be a great way to really settle the score with an enemy." Grinned Chris.
Several campers gulped nervously; the thought of being on the receiving end of one of those idols did not sound fun at all.
"I can now confirm that, for the rest of the game, no more idols will be added." Promised Chris. "You'll have to make do with what is left."
"Chris, what's with the paper barrier beside you?" Asked Penta.
"Well, since this is a new campsite, you're going to need a new camp mentor … come on out mystery person!" Announced Chris.
The mentor dramatically burst through the barrier … or not. Instead, they tried to burst through it only to fall flat on their face after tripping over their feet.
"Can I get a do-over?" Asked Tyler hopefully.
"Nope." Said Chris.
"Darn." Sighed Tyler as he got to his feet. "Hey kids! I'm Tyler, the sport star jock from last season; sports are fun, but I need a break from sporty stardom to hang out with the younger generation, and maybe teach you some tricks."
"That's right kids, Tyler is gonna be your new camp mentor." Announced Chris. "If you have a problem or something like that, he's the guy to talk to. His cabin can be found at the east side of camp. Now, it's still quite early and it'll be a few hours to the challenge … so feel free to hang out and build up your campsite. Be back at this spot in an hour though for a special surprise…"
"What's the surprise?" Asked Otis.
"Wait and see." Said Chris as he took his leave. "Maclean out!"
(Confessional: So many twists, and that isn't the last of them!)
Kelly: … I hope nobody uses the catapult idols on me. I know I'm devious, but do I really deserve that? No!
Donald: As a gentleman and a member of the Youngblood family I shall not be using the Katie or Sadie idols on anybody. It goes against who I am.
Sampson: Oh how I'd love to catapult Otis…
Charles: Gee, as if the merge wasn't already complicated enough, huh?
Ivy: After the new idols were explained and we said hello to Tyler, we split off to bond … I sense lines will soon be drawn into the sand.
Donald and Otis were sitting on the sand looking out at the waves.
"So, the merge is here … good job on getting this far." Complimented Donald.
"Thanks, but we can't rest yet." Said Otis seriously.
"Indeed, we are still ten eliminations away from the finals." Agreed Donald.
"… Actually I meant that Sampson is still here, but that works too." Shrugged Otis. "What's the plan?"
"Well, I don't really have any solid allies from the Tuna, but you have allies … right?" Asked Donald hopefully.
"Yep, me and the delicious duo of Edith and Ivy are working together." Revealed Otis.
"Delicious duo?" Repeated Donald before shaking his head. "Not important. I think we should all join up; us four would have a lot of power … a third of the vote to be exact."
"Sure, but let's not make it obvious. We'd be stamped out quicker than a cigarette head." Suggested Otis.
"Good point; I'll ask them about it after the challenge." Conceded Donald. "Any other good ideas?"
"… We need a sandcastle; this beach looks kind of bare." Noted Otis.
"And back to regular Otis we go." Sighed Donald in amusement.
(Confessional: At last one of them is taking things seriously.)
Donald: Otis is a good ally since he has a way of getting people to like him … on the other hand, he has no sense of maturity or focus which leaves the complex decisions to me. Man, that's gonna make being a good guy even harder!
Xadrian was gathering firewood while Edith and Ivy worked on setting up the fire-pit. As he did so he looked over which wood could be used to make fake idols. Since it was a new island he was going to have to create more fake idols since the other fakes had been left on Wawanakwa.
"It ain't convenient, but mah plan has w'rked might fine so far, so ah ain't gonna whine 'bout makin' more idols." Mused Xadrian as he gathered up more firewood.
Soon Xadrian decided that he had enough for the fire and set off to bring it back to the campfire. He soon arrived and set it down.
"Ah g't tha firew'd." Stated Xadrian.
"Good job Xadrian; that should keep things warm tonight. I like the cold of course, but not everybody does." Smiled Ivy. "What do you think of this new island twist? It's certainly a big shake-up."
"Indeed it is." Agreed Xadrian. "Also, ah g't a question; do ya'll g't anybody ya dun't like much?"
"You mean other campers we don't like? Well, Sampson isn't great, but we don't truly dislike him or anything." Stated Ivy.
"For the most part our team got along very well once Ub was voted out." Added Edith. "But conflict will always find ways to form."
"Ain't th't the truth." Mused Xadrian. "Th'nks girls. Ah'll go g't s'm more firew'd."
Xadrian left to do what he said he would do while the girls continued working on the fire-pit.
"He makes a good point though; at this point it's a free for all. Who will we vote for tonight? We have lots of choices." Noted Ivy.
"I'm not sure, exactly. But I'll think of something. I've come to see that voting out the meanest person is not a good idea if one wants to win." Pondered Edith. "Let's wait a few hours and see what happens throughout the day; it might give us some ideas."
"You leads and I'll follow." Smiled Ivy.
(Confessional: Ivy is a follower, but she likes playing the game that way.)
Edith: It's nice to have a friend I can rely on … but who will I vote for? Otis will want me to make a big and flashy move, but it is safe? Gee, Otis has corrupted me; I'm already looking forward to my next move. If only I was physic! Predicting the future would be really helpful right about now!
Xadrian: A little talk c'n go a l'ng way. Fr'm th't little talk ah learnt th't Edith an' Ivy are in a tight alliance, an' they dun't like Sampson. Let me tell ya'll, the web of int'ractions is mighty import'nt, both in tha game an' outside o' it."
Penta, Charles and Sampson were working on setting up the shelter … well, the former two were but the latter was simply dozing on the sand.
"Sampson, this isn't easy; I'd appreciate some help." Frowned Penta.
"I'd rather not." Said Sampson.
"Lazy bugger." Muttered Penta. "At least I can rely on you Charles."
"You're welcome. We all need somewhere to sleep, and we'll need to work efficiently to construct a shelter that can house twelve people …then again, I suppose only eleven of us will be sleeping in it." Mused Charles.
"Hopefully I'll be one of them." Said Penta as she worked on securing one of the support branches in place. "So, what was it like for you on the Strong Squids?"
"It was alright; there were some fights, some friendships and a lot of activity and interaction. Really, it was a pretty good team." Shrugged Charles. "It was very nice having Miss Courtney as a camp mentor. She may seem mean at a distance, but if you get to know her she's really nice and almost like a big sister."
"I can believe that; tough at a first glance, but a softie inside … kind of like me now that I think about it." Mused Penta. "By the way, I have a question."
"What is it?" Asked Charles.
"… Is it weird for me to be constantly thinking about my parents? I miss them so much, and I'd love to see them again. I haven't had a cuddle in so long that it feels almost like an eternity." Lamented Penta.
"It's not weird at all." Assured Charles. "I miss my family as well, and my friends too. But we'll see them again soon enough. If anything, the fact you miss them shows you're a nice girl."
"Thanks Charles, you're a sweetie." Smiled Penta.
"He also panics a lot over nothing." Stated Sampson.
"Yeah, it's true." Admitted Charles.
(Confessional: He is as sweet as honey according to Zanna.)
Charles: I came up with a new plan this morning; vote out my foes from strongest to weakest. I'm pretty feeble, so the tough guys are my biggest adversaries … but Penta is a sweet girl and already a good friend … could I really vote out somebody so nice?
Larry, Quadesh and Kelly were gathering food for the camp; as they did so Larry came to a realisation.
"Hey, where's Tilly? She was supposed to be helping us." Frowned Larry. "Did she bail on us?"
"She's good at climbing trees; she might have just gone to climb some fruit trees." Stated Quadesh.
"Better her than me; I've fallen out of the branches and onto my bum so many times back home that I tend to avoid climbing trees nowadays." Admitted Kelly. "By the way guys, I have an idea."
"Is it a way of getting this job done faster?" Asked Larry hopefully.
"Nope, more of a protection pact. I was thinking that even though we've merged, we don't have to stop being a 'team'; maybe we could look out for each other in the coming rounds." Suggested Kelly.
"Sounds good, I'm in." Agreed Quadesh.
"… Fine, why not? Being voted out would suck since not only would I lose, but I'd go to the playa where all the bloody annoyances are." Shuddered Larry. "That fear is my main motivation at the moment; I do not want to put up with more fake crying from Walter or bloody advertisements from Flynn … or egotistical egoness from Alfie."
"Sounds painful." Winced Quadesh. "So, what surprise do you think Chris was talking about? It's almost been an hour."
"Hopefully something nice; maybe a feast, or perhaps there won't be an elimination today." Pondered Kelly in hope.
"It might be a booby prize like a box containing a boxing glove on a spring." Muttered Larry.
"… Sadly, I don't doubt that." Sighed Quadesh.
(Confessional: Punch out!)
Kelly: I need allies; I can't rely on immunity, probably, so I need to put of my 'floaties'. It's my hope that my targets won't have their floaties on; it'll make things a lot less stressful for me.
Tilly sat alone on a high tree branch overlooking the campsite; she took a bite out of an apple as she smirked.
"Ah, perfect." Said Tilly in content.
(Confessional: Overconfident much?)
Tilly: All in all, things are perfect at the moment. I think I earned the right to bask in the sun.
A short while later the twelve campers had gathered back at where Chris had spoken to them earlier. Chris was ready to speak to them again, and set up in a line where twelve curtains attached to one big frame. From left to write each curtain had a letter on it that matched a camper still in the game, and the curtains were alphabetical in this order.
"Ok campers, time for the surprise." Announced Chris. "Behind each curtain is a present for one of you; there are twelve curtains and so everybody will get something nice. But each present has something in common … care to guess what it is?"
"There's nothing behind the curtains and you're just trolling us?" Asked Larry.
"A tempting idea, but nope." Chuckled Chris. "Today is the day where each of you will be receiving a visit from a loved one back home!"
"You mean … family members?" Asked Quadesh in almost uncharacteristic excitement.
"Yep." Nodded Chris. "So, shall I reveal the guests?"
Many yells of 'get on with it' were Chris's response. Chris then walked up to the first curtain.
"Visiting Charles is a very good friend of his from back home … give it up for Ted!" Announced Chris as he pulled down the curtain and revealed a young boy dressed in a red football iconed shirt, arctic cameo pants, with spiky brown hair on his head.
"Ted! Boy, it's great to see you!" Cheered Charles.
"Likewise; it's been different with you absent. I've had nobody to do my math homework for me." Chuckled Ted. "So, a little birdie tells me that you've got a girlfriend. Give me all the details!"
(Confessional: Cameo's FTW!)
Charles: It's great to see a familiar face from back home. Ted is a close friend of mine; I've known him since the first day of kindergarten. He knows a lot about sports and being cool and confident, so hopefully he has some advice for me out here … and sadly he won't rest until I really do tell him everything about me and Zanna … sorry if I let anything slip Zanna…
Charles and Ted continued to converse while Chris moved onto the second curtain.
"Visiting Donald is a blood relative … a Youngblood relative even, haha! Anyway, it's his bigger brother Matthias!" Announce Chris as he pulled down the curtain to reveal a blond teenage male with a fancy yellow jacket, black undershirt, gold pants and a look of charitableness about him.
"Big bro!" Exclaimed Donald.
"Donald! Oh man, I've missed you little bro." Smiled Matthias warmly as he gave his younger brother a playful noogie. "We've got a lot to talk about little bro, most of all your cute relationship with that Yoko girl. I wish she wasn't voted off since I, and everyone else back home, really want to meet her. Have you two made out at all?"
"Bro, you're embarrassing me." Blushed Donald awkwardly.
"Just doing my job as a big brother." Smirked Matthias.
(Confessional: Brother dearest.)
Donald: He may prank me a bit, but Matthias is a great brother; he stops people picking on me and he's the most charitable person I know. I mean, last year he donated a hundred thousand to Hope House just because he thought it was a nice thing to do. I don't worship him like some little brothers do to their elder siblings, but let me tell you … it's cool to have a big brother like Matthias.
Chris then moved over to the third curtain.
"Visiting Edith is a very special family member … her mum, Mrs. Tracie Reed!" Announced Chris as he tore down the third curtain to reveal a slender and pretty red headed women in a blue sleeveless t-shirt and purple pants.
"Edith my little snowflake, I've missed you so much!" Exclaimed Mrs. Reed as she scooped her daughter up into a tight hug.
"Mum, you're embarrassing me!" Exclaimed Edith.
"Oh, sorry about that dearie." Chuckled Mrs. Reed as she set Edith down. "I'm excited to hear about your summer adventure. Plus, I have a few certain things I'd like to talk to you about…"
"… Yes mum." Gulped Edith.
(Confessional: Yummy mummy!)
Edith: I love my mum, and I look up to her … but she has a way of making me feel very sorry for naughty things without having to do anything. I hope she's proud of me, but she might be possibly mad too. I remember what happened the last time I really misbehaved. (Edith subconsciously covers her backside protectively). But still, it'll be nice to talk about how things are going back home. Hopefully business is good at the sweet shop.
Otis: Whoa! Edith's mum has got it going on!
Chris then moved to the fourth cousin. Ivy looked very nervous since her guests was behind the curtain.
"This could be a dramatic reunion; visiting Ivy is … her mum, Mrs. Belle Shiverly." Announced Chris as he tore away the fourth curtain and revealed a rather attractive women with chocolate brown skin, shoulder length black hair who was wearing a purple dress.
"Hello Ivy, it's so nice to see you again after so long." Said Mrs. Shiverly in a warm and sweet voice.
"H-h-h-hi m-m-mum." Greeted Ivy while practically shaking.
"Are you alright dear?" Asked Mrs. Shiverly in concern.
Ivy was silent and just looked at the sand.
"Well, whatever is bothering you … we have time to talk about it, among other things." Smiled Mrs. Shiverly.
Ivy gulped in fear.
(Confessional: Confrontation time!)
Ivy: (She looks terrified). This is bad! This is really, really bad! I have no idea what I'm gonna say to mum; is she gonna be mad at me for being bisexual? Ooo, why did Chris have to bring in family visitors? Mum might give me a spanking on national television! … I've got to hide; I'll slip away when nobody is looking and I'll stay hidden until the visitors leave; it might be prolonging the inevitable, but I'll more time to think of an excuse to reduce mum's anger…
Chris then moved to the fifth curtain.
"Visiting Kelly today is … her eldest sister Koral." Announced Chris as he tore down the fifth curtain to reveal a pretty brunette women in her very early twenties with a patched yellow skirt, a red shirt and a brown patched and worn jacket. Her hair was done up in one ponytail.
"Hey little sis, how are you holding up?" Greeted Koral with a slight hint of a southern accent.
"As well as can be expected." Stated Kelly. "How are things back home?"
"Not great, but that's still better than usual. I can tell we'll have a lot to talk about today; maybe over some tropical fruit?" Suggested Koral.
"Good idea … and gee, I really need to vent, so I hope you're ready to listen." Cautioned Kelly.
"That's what I'm here for." Smiled Koral.
(Confessional: It was inevitable one of Kelly's sisters would arrive eventually.)
Kelly: I've missed my sisters SO much, so it's really nice that Koral is here. She's both my sister and a mother figure. Maybe she'll some ideas on how I can gain control over the contest, and maybe how I could eliminate somebody without it being traced back to me?
Chris approached the sixth curtain.
"Is anybody behind that curtain? I somehow doubt my family found the time to come and visit me." Frowned Larry.
"You've better believe it Larry, because visiting you today is … your mum, Mrs. Sasumi Chen." Announced Chris as he tore away the sixth curtain and revealed an Asian women wearing a fancy dark red dress and half-moon glasses. Her hair was cut short down to her neck and she had a small amount of make-up on.
"… Mum." Whispered Larry.
"It is good to see you again Larry." Said Mrs. Chen sweetly. "You've really grown … and you've definitely gained an appreciation for odd hairstyles … and … I'M SORRY!"
Mrs. Chen burst into tears and embraced her son tightly.
"I'm so sorry for neglecting you, and your father is too. We let our jobs control us and didn't focus on what is really important … our only son! The maid called us and explains you had ran away to join this TV Show as a way of getting attention from us … my sweet little Larry, can you ever forgive me for being such a bad mother?" Said Mrs. Chen with tears in her eyes.
Larry was silent for a moment before he smiled and embraced his mother tightly with a few tears in his own eyes.
"I forgive you, and I'm sorry for running away." Said Larry quietly. "How about we move on and be a proper family. Maybe … maybe a day out at a theme park?"
"… I'll be there." Promised Mrs. Chen.
"Awwwww, family moment!" Squeed Penta.
"And you'll definitely have to introduce me to your girlfriend." Said Mrs. Chen with a giggle.
"Mum…" Groaned Larry in embarrassment, though he was smiling behind his bandana.
(Confessional: AWWWWWW!)
Larry: … Best day ever. Beyond my bandana I am smiling more than I ever have before.
Chris moved over to the seventh curtain.
"Otis, we were unable to get ahold of any family members or friends of family no matter how hard we tried." Stated Chris.
"No surprise there." Shrugged Otis.
"Thankfully we found somebody who was willing to come and visit you … after we bribed him. Say hello … to Principle Miller!" Announced Chris as he tore away the seventh curtain to reveal a black haired man in a formal brown suit with an air of authority about him.
"… Can I pass on the 'loved one visit' … please?" Requested Otis.
"No backsies!" Declared Chris.
"… Oh well, might as well make the most of it." Said Otis cheerfully. "Hi Mad Miller!"
"Principle Miller to you Master Skullzy." Frowned Principle Miller. "We may be out of school, but I am the adult here and I expect you to behave yourself."
"Why? You can't put me in detention." Said Otis with a grin. "Maybe this could be more fun than I thought…"
"Why did I agree to visit my least favourite student when I could be counting paperclips?" Groaned Principle Miller.
(Confessional: Prepare for incoming lulz!)
Otis: Not exactly the visitor I wanted, but I'll make do with what I have. If nothing else, it should be fun to torture Mad Miller with no risk of detention.
Donald: Hmm … why did Otis not have a family member visit him? Eh, they might be busy like Larry's parents. Considering how Otis acts, it wouldn't surprise me, really.
Chris moved to the eighth curtain.
"Visiting our alliteratively named Penta Peneki Polestar is … her dad, Pong Prasad Polestar!" Announced Chris as he tore away the eight curtain to reveal a muscular and balding middle aged Vietnamese man dressed in a solider uniform.
"Hi dad." Greeted Penta.
"Hello Penta, it is very nice to see you again." Said Mr. Polestar in a professional tone, before he embraced his daughter in a tight hug. "Girly or not, you have the heart of a soldier and you've proved how honourable and strong you are in this game. I have no doubt that you will be going all the way. And if not, perhaps fate has other plans."
"… I missed you too dad." Smiled Penta as she returned the hug.
"So … I hear you have a …'boyfriend' now." Noted Mr. Polestar.
"Yep, there he is over there." Said Penta cheerfully.
"… Hi." Said Larry nervously.
"Well, good for you Penta." Nodded Mr. Polestar. "Perhaps me and your boyfriend can have a talk later, man to boy."
"Sure, go ahead, Larry is a great listener." Assured Penta whilst missing the point of why her dad wanted to speak with Larry.
Larry could only whimper.
(Confessional: Aren't overprotective dads just precious?)
Penta: Seeing dad again after such a whole is very nice; that hug … it felt so nice to feel such safety, comfort and parental love from it. I'll definitely make the most of this family visit, you can count on it.
Larry: … I'm a dead man.
Chris moved over to the ninth curtain. Of particular note was that Quadesh was bouncing on her heels in excitement.
"Quadesh, you'll probably enjoy today because your visitor is … your dad, Mr. Jack Rustflower." Announced Chris as he tore away the ninth curtain to reveal a brunette man in casual jeans, a blue shirt and a dark green jacket.
"DADDY!" Squealed Quadesh in glee as she ran towards her dad and glomped him in a tight hug. "Ooo, I've missed you so much! It's so nice to see you again!"
"I've missed you too my little winner." Said Mr. Rustflower with a loving smile as he hugged his daughter in return. "How have things been going for you?"
"Just wonderful recently; I'm having fun and I even made a friend." Said Quadesh cheerfully. "I have so many things to tell you about!"
"I look forward to hearing them." Smiled Mr. Rustflower.
Everyone else looked confused by how giggly and happy Quadesh was acting.
(Confessional: Happy Quadesh is best Quadesh.)
Quadesh: First the merge, and now a visit from my daddy? This is the best day ever! Woohoo!
Kelly: … I've never seen Quadesh so happy … it's actually kind of creepy.
Chris moved towards the tenth curtain.
"Sampson, we searched hard to find you the best possible visitor, and we found such a person … your next door neighbour Lightning!" Announced Chris as he tore away the tenth curtain to reveal an African Canadian teenager wearing a blue football jersey and swamp green shorts.
"Kill me now…" Groaned Sampson.
"Sha-bam! Lightning is sha-here, sha-hold the applause!" Declared Lightning. "Sha-Lightning's neighbour may be a bit sha-lazy, but with Lightning to guide him he's gonna sha-dominate! Sha-baaaaaam!"
Everyone was silent before Otis started laughing.
"Sucks to be you Sampson!" Laughed Otis.
"I won't argue that…" Muttered Sampson.
(Confessional: He's not a great character, but he plays off Sampson so well.)
Sampson: It's official, Chris is an utter troll. I expected a family member, but instead I get 'sha-dumbass'. Lighting is just so annoying and says 'sha' all the time, not to mention how he is a moron in terms of intellect … urgh, why me?
Penta: … And I thought Princess Sha said the word sha a lot. I guess she's been dethroned.
Chris moved towards the eleventh curtain.
"You have a large family Tilly, but we managed to find the perfect person to visit you … your eldest brother Emilio!" Announced Chris as he tore away the curtain to reveal a Spanish guy in his late teens with a mane of dark brown hair, blue jeans and an unbuttoned orange jacket.
"Hola Tilly, it's been a while." Smiled Emilio.
"Yeah, it has been." Said Tilly while not looking overly happy.
"What's wrong sis, you don't look happy to see me." Noted Emilio.
"It's nothing." Stated Tilly. "I guess it's good to have you here."
(Confessional: Sibling rivalry…)
Tilly: I could have done without a family visit. Me and my bro's don't get along very well, especially not me and Emilio. When I came out he didn't take it very well, not to mention he's the favourite child and takes attention away from me! He's no amigo of mine.
Chris then moved towards the twelfth and final curtain.
"Xadrian, you only have one family member so you already know who your visitor is gonna be … your dad Mr. Todd Earl!" Announced Chris as he tore away the last curtain to reveal a tall blond man with blue jeans, a plain white t-shirt with some dirt on it and a worn belt.
"Pappy, it's great ta see ya." Said Xadrian with a smile.
"Likewise mah s'n; it ain't b'n tha same without ya back at tha trail'r." Smiled Mr. Earl. "Ah th'nk we're g'nna have a l't ta t'lk about, right?"
"Ya'll bet." Nodded Xadrian. "Ah gots th'ngs ta run by ya'll that ah w'd like ya op'nion on. J'st th'nk, this time n'xt year we might be out'ta tha trailer and inta a real house."
"It's a mighty nice thought, I reckon." Agreed Mr. Earl.
(Confessional: Now we have two hard to understand accents!)
Xadrian: Mah pappy is a surviv'r, so ah th'nk he c'n give me s'm mighty fine tips on how ta survive out here. We ain't bad, but we ain't perf'ct an' we'll do wh't it takes ta g't by. Th't is j'st tha way it is.
Since every visitor had been introduced Chris slapped his hands to get the attention back onto himself.
"Your family or friend visitors will be helping you in today's challenge and leaving once it is over, so until then make the most of the time you have with them. Also, they are required by proxy contract to not tell you anything that could give you an advantage, so don't try to ask them about who has idols, who is lying and stuff like that. There will be a lawsuit penalty if anything gets let slip, understand." Stated Chris.
The campers nodded since this did seem quite professional and fair.
"Tyler will be along to let you all know when it is time for the challenge; until then you may spend time with your visitors. Maclean out." Said Chris as he took his leave.
"Come on daddy, I have so many things to tell you." Said Quadesh cheerfully as she led her daddy away from everyone else.
Pretty soon the campers and visitors branched off and eventually only Ivy's mum was left.
"So, Ivy, how have things been going for you?" Asked Mrs. Shiverly.
Mrs. Shiverly received no response.
"Ivy?" Repeated Mrs. Shiverly as she turned to face her daughter only to see she was not there. "… Where did she go?"
Mrs. Shiverly then saw Ivy up ahead running away full speed into the jungle forest. She then began to follow after her daughter.
(Confessional: Run Ivy run!)
Ivy: Maybe it's cowardly to run, but I can't face my mum … I just can't…
Next Time: A lot of interaction happens among campers and their visitors, and the blindfolded obstacle course begins!
