Omigosh! What's this?! A fast update! Are ya'll surprised? I am! Ya'll should review just for that! XD

As Raz fell to the ground, eyes rolling back into her head, suddenly, Marissa's eyes glowed green. A sickeningly wicked grin slid onto her face, and she chuckled to herself. "Perfect." She rasped out. "That takes care of you." She sneered. "Princess."

Kertenkele gave a pleased shudder as she removed herself from her hosts' body, that pathetically perky Mermaiden Queen. As soon as she stood in her human form, she grinned to herself, hissing, forked tongue slashing out and tasting the air. "Ooh… what…?" Marissa was slowly coming to, blinking her purple eyes and shaking her head. In an instant the queen of dragons grabbed both her arms, hauling her up. "Hey! L- Let me-!" she stopped abruptly as the mystery person pressed a knife dangerously hard on her throat.

"Shhhhh…" a voice hissed in her air, cold but gentle. "Hush child, no need to get hysterical." An aloof chuckle slithered into her ear. "Wouldn't want to, ah… alert anyone." In an instant the voice turned savage and vicious. "Or else I'll tear out your throat right here and eat it for a snack!" she licked her lips. "And I'm very hungry."

"Wh- Who are you?!" Marissa demanded, keeping herself still as she could. The blade dug into her skin, and she watched as just the tiniest bit of blood began to twirl upward in ribbons. "S- Stop! You'll attract wild sharks!"

"Oh, a shame." Hummed the voice. Marissa yelped and very nearly jumped as, suddenly, a snake tugged at her fur on her right. She shuddered in disgust. "Oh, don't fidget dear. It only serves to… excite, them."

Marissa gulped, beginning to feel dizzy, watching her own blood curl upwards, the flow steadily getting heavier. "What do you want from me?! Who are you?!"

"Oh, we haven't met since… what I believe was your baby shower. Do you remember that, dear? That haunted pearl I gave you?" with a shriek of realization, Marissa tore away from her captor… realizing her mistake just a millisecond too late. She could only gasp as the blade sliced into her skin, toward muscle and bone. In seconds the throne rooms' once beautifully crystal clear waters were stained red. Marissa had but two seconds to scream before she fell to the ground.

Hearing the screech of his Queen, a guard came hurrying. He swam in to find a most gruesome sight; the future queen of the island unconscious on the throne room floor, not breathing, and a few feet away lay Queen Marissa… or what was left of her. With horror that could not be described, the soldier let out a yell at seeing his queen beheaded.

But what scared him the most was the someone that was also there, someone that had been dead for twenty years. Standing over the two bodies was none other than Kertenkele, head thrown back and laughing victoriously. When her reptilian green eyes landed on him, she gave him a wolfish smile, before lunging for the poor merman with the speed and ability of a lunging snake, her outstretched hands glowing with wicked black aura.

Before Raz was even fully conscious, she shot into a sitting position and yelled "SHE TRIED TA DROWN ME!"

"Easy, Raz darling. You need to rest." She took a swing at Zalim, standing beside her bed. He stepped aside just in time.

She- I… I w's… drownin! Watah'! Mermaids! Drownin… she was… I tried… water…!" as his fiancé continued her hysterical babbling, he turned to a nurse.

"What is she talking about?"

"Aftershocks, sir." Answered the koala. "She's experiencing hallucinations, perhaps feverish delirium… it is her mind's way of coping with the fact that she very narrowly escaped death's hands."

"When will it end?"

"Hard to say, My Lord." She answered. "Anywhere between five minutes and… four day, I'd estimate. It depends on the severity, her ability to cope with stress."

They'd found two mermaids dragging a waterlogged Raz onto land, more than half-drowned. They were both stuttering and blubbering about this and that; something about Queen Marissa. He was minimally concerned; it took a lot to hurt an immortal, and it left him a tad concerned. If there was some dark force rampaging around and harming the immortals of the world, it could serve a problem.

"Raz…" carefully he approached his to-be wife, who as near hysterics. She was panting and rattling off all sorts of things that made no sense, breaths shuddering as if he might start to cry. It honestly startled him a bit, to see her in such a state. "Raz… Raz, dear, listen to me." She turned glassy eyes to him, still mumbling to herself. 'Hush…" he soothed, slowly reaching out to her, inching ever closer. She made no move to slug him or otherwise, so he took it as 'go for it'. In a moment or so, Raz found herself pressed against her fiance's chest, still in shock, stiff and rigid. The tight grasp was actually rather comforting, and the unsettled mind found itself relaxing in the calm, secure grip. "That's right…" he murmured, fondly stroking her ear. "That's right, hush now…"

With a whimper and a sigh, her body relaxed completely and within seconds she had slipped into sleep, snuggling gladly in her fiance's warm, comforting grasp, seeking refuge from the disturbing thoughts and images filling her head.

Zalim sighed, relieved to have finally managed to establish some physical contact, and without a single bruise! Progress. "Sweet dreams, my darling." She sighed subconsciously, a sleepy smile gracing her features as he gently rubbed her back. "Sweet dreams…" before he could change his minds, he pressed his lips to her forehead, murmuring in her ear. "I really do love you… I know you do not believe me, but I do love you. With all the heart I have left."

There ya go! Lots of Raz and Zalim fluff, and now we know why Marissa did that!

Le gasp! I didn't even know I was capable of writing something like that! I surprised myself… don't worry! There'll be nothing this awful in any further chapters… I just really needed a way to express Kertenkele's evilness and just how deep her hatred is for Raz… yeah. Please review!
