A/N: Back (slightly intoxicated and half awake) if anyone cares much. Still spammed with reviews, messages, and notifications about readers almost constantly so I figured supporters will probably still read these things. Frankly feeling creative after a brain stimulant. Thanks for the kind comments! Glad my stories amuse you.
. . . . . . . . .
"You need to tell me what's on at some point before I hulk out and shred the entire city to a million pieces." Bruce's eyes open wide, taking in the surroundings as much as humanly possible; 'Last time I checked we were picking up a child not out running a million criminals."
"Killing two birds with one stone." Natasha shrugs casually.
"I hate that analogy almost as much as your secrets."
She glances outside the window, barely acknowledging their driver;
"Whats Alexei's status."
The cab shifts from lane to lane and swerves into the far left. The driver's head is barely visible from the rear view mirror. A small face with dark sunglasses to hide the figures face from recognition. His quiet voice only louder then the soft hustle of the tires rushing against the highway.
"He escaped from his cell only recently. Not to scare you but in two days he's already managed to turn the entire city upside down. Two SHIELD agents have gone missing. No one knows their whereabouts."
Banner sighs, crossing his arms over the news. The thought of being dragged into another mess clearly exasperating the doctor. The assassin just nods, eager to take up the folder handed to her from the driver. Her eyes taking in every word from off the pages in a matter of seconds;
"Theres absolutely nothing in Russia he could possibly want. Why even bother going through old friends just to hunt me."
The driver shakes his head, slightly disappointed, "Not that I have much to go off of but my assumption is that this goes beyond just hunting you Miss Romanoff."
"We're gonna have to hide for a bit until we can go off on our own- until this is figured out."
Bruce shakes his head over Natasha's news. Worn out over the thought;
"Great. Cant wait to hang out in strange Russian cities with a crazy man to hunt down."
"Well these aren't strange cities-"
"For you, sure,"
"Bruce Banner."
"Tasha, I'm sorry I thought we were done with this-"
"With what?"
He pauses. Sighing after stealing the folder from her lap;
"This! I thought we were done dodging this guy! Ready to move on with the rest of our life. I'm sorry I just wanted a break from running for a while."
Natasha's eyes widen, clearly agitated, "You act like I'm ok with this-"
She's cut off by the buzzing on Banner's phone, glancing over towards his lap to read the name flashing on the screen;
"Its Tony."
The driver snaps, his eyes up towards the mirror. The noise of the sirens surrounding the cab in the middle of a bustling city. The red head glances over her shoulder, noticing the cars zipping past the cars among the honking horns. The couple pull back once the cab swerves with a brief warning to hold on as he navigates the many cars ahead.
Bruce holds the phone in front of him, dazed and startled by the chaos surrounding them. He half-heartedly listens to Stark's warnings they've already become aware of, eyes widening over the current situation;
"I really can't talk right now- Yes I know about the escaped criminals , you're about ten minutes too late and I'm about the die!"
Natasha shoves her husband by his shoulder, wiping her gun from her holster to prepare for any foreseeable action. She mumbles, cursing at the air while their bodies toss around the back seat of the vehicle;
"Duck!"
She thrusts her torso forwards, dodging a bullet that rips through the back window of the cap straight through to the front windshield. The driver squeals, twisting the wheel to turn down an ally. Natasha fires twice out of the newly created hole and successfully scars the car behind them. Her knee spins only the bench seat, twisting to face towards the back in between her occasional ducks behind the head rest.
"Stay down Bruce."
The doctor covers his head, mumbling as he tries to calm his pulse, "Trying to."
herself against the window for support she leans forward, firing two more shots towards the car behind them.
"I'm taking you to headquarters."
She nods, "Brilliant Boris! Just lead the roaches straight to a food source so they can take over there."
"Well what do you suggest?! I cant dodge them forever! And we both know we're minutes from being cut off-"
"Turn right."
"Are you insane?! Theres nothing but water-"
Bruce snaps, his eyes hinting green, "JUST DO IT BEFORE I EXPLODE!"
"Don't come back for us, go straight for HQ and get backup,' she nudges Bruce, 'We're jumping."
Romanoff pinches at his hand, attempting to hit a pressure point while preparing for the speed chase down a tighter space. The cab spins into the tight space, narrowly avoiding the canal.
She snaps, pushing the passenger door open with her foot eyeing the water below;
"Jump Bruce."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
"They're dead. Just rotting in Russia someplace with nobody that actually speaks English-"
Stark snaps, seconds from slapping the table. Jane grips at her fingers, ignoring Darcy's obnoxious remarks while she listens to stark's phone going off.
He answers with an eye roll, eager to hear the doctor on the other end;
".Bruce! Perfect timing. Jane and Darcy just doomed you guys to he-"
Banner cuts him off, a noisy sound of bustling traffic in the background;
"Look I need to be brief. We're obviously being tracked by Tasha's buddies. In light of everything happening you won't hear from us for a while. Don't send help unless its been more then a week until you next hear from either of us."
".This-"
"-Is serious Tony. This isn't just two demented morons on the loose, its much bigger. I have to go. I'll fill you in once we have the details. For now just keep in contact with HQ."
Tony sighs once the call is ended abruptly. Darcy pops her gum, eyes wide while she mumbles;
"They're dead."
"Correction, 'We're' dead. We're going to Russia. All of us."
