Epilogue
"So, our little elfling is in a good way, now." Nienna sighed in relief, tears beading in her eyes as she smiled.
"Valië." Nàmo muttered. "Always crying when there is no reason to."
His only answer was a smack from his enraged sister, earning laughs from the rest of the Valar as Nàmo whined, rubbing his arm.
"Very good." Aulë nodded, and then turned back to his own creations, muttering something about "accused of being stubborn," to the knowing smirks of the others.
"So everything is in proper place." Yavanna said thoughtfully.
"Quite. All but the last moment things." Oromë noted, shaking his head. "The Hunt is calling again." He excused himself, striding out of the Mahanaxàr where they were congregated.
"And what of our errant Curunír?" Aulë spoke up once more, sorrowfully.
"He has yet his part to play, albeit he is a white pawn no longer." Manwë replied softly.
"And our little one?" Estë asked.
"Glorfindel would dispute that." It was Irmo's turn to mutter, as the others sighed.
"She will be just fine- although perhaps inevitably tossed about once in a while by the wild waves of the storm." Varda replied.
"Did someone say waves?" Ulmo came into the ring, sitting in his place beside Nienna and Nessa and causing both Valië to send him glares as he dripped seawater everywhere. As usual, he ignored them.
"We were speaking of little Eruanna." Tulkas rumbled. "I still say I go down for Sauron myself and bring her to Nàmo to stop his caterwauling for her." He grumbled.
Nàmo loudly protested the statement as the rest of the Valar began to laugh heartily at the offended judge of the dead.
"If only it was that simple." Vairë finally sighed.
"HE is released." Nàmo suddenly spoke up from his sulk.
"Already?" Vána looked rather taken aback.
"Yes. He has been taken into the care of Arafinwë." Irmo replied.
"How was that arranged?" Tulkas sounded intrigued.
"Well, As you know, he was under the rule of Melian, law-sister of Olwë and therefore law-aunt to Finarfin. Since neither she nor Elwë Elu Thingol rules the Sindar any longer, she had to give the rule of the Sindar to someone. Since Olwë is her closest kin she gave rule to him, but he gave it to his law-son Finarfin, King of the Noldo. So now Arafinwë Finarfin is both Noldoran and the Sindar follow his rule as well by order of Melian." Estë answered.
Manwë suddenly took a sharp intake of breath and turned to Nàmo. "You knew this." He said.
Nàmo smiled. "Nay, lord, only now do I realize the full import of this as well. Atto knew all along that my little elfling would help to restore the Sèrë Valaron that was broken with the destruction of our fallen brother." He replied.
They sat in contemplative silence.
"Well. For now, her part is in Arda. Why do I have the feeling that when she finally comes to us that it will be in a manner that we do not expect?" Ulmo asked musingly, throwing them all into another train of thought concerning their favorite Balrog Slayer and his little sister.
