UPDATE
Hello all! It's been a while and I hope you've all been well. I've got some stuff to talk to you guys about!
Firstly and most importantly: I've never forgotten about this story. I know I've left you all hanging for a long, long time and I deeply apologise for that. Mortality will always hold a special place in my heart and though it might look like it, I have not abandoned it. More on that later! For now, I just wanted to apologise for seemingly leaving this fic behind – a lot of things have changed in my life and I had no time to do, well, anything really. My life right now is stable and happy, which is why I will be coming back to this story soon.
However, it's not going to be exactly the same. As I was writing Mortality I learned a lot about my own style of storytelling and created characters I deeply loved and deeply love still. That said – I think I can do better. Writing TFOM was very much not a serious thing at first, but the story ran away from me and became deeper, bigger, more complex than I could have anticipated. This led to mistakes, awkward introductions to certain plot points, moments of OOC and just... things I'm unhappy with.
What does that mean for you, the readers who love this story and want to see it continue? Well, only good things (I hope)! As we speak I am working on a complete re-write of TFOM with a more consistent plot, better writing and (hopefully) an all-around more enjoyable experience for you, the reader. All that said though: while the general plot will stay the same, it will very much be a different story. This is why I will leave TFOM up for those who fell in love with this story. I believe it can co-exist with the new version. That said though – this story will (most likely) no longer be updated. I have no timeline for uploading the new story yet, but it will be in the near future for sure!
Lastly – this story disappeared from FF a short while ago! A kind follower messaged me about this and as you can see this has been rectified. I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
I hope you can all look forward to the new, hopefully better version of TFOM as much as I looked forward to working on it. Thank you all once again for all the kind messages I've received over the years. I'm so happy to see how much my story is enjoyed, my characters being loved. Thank you.
