When Leo was still a little boy he used to love going with his family and one maid to see his father marching with his troops in special days and new year´s eve.
In his eyes, as they advanced to find a good position surrounded by many other vectorian eager civilians, the city seemed more beautiful with every balcony ornated by long flags of vibrant red and the unforgettable symbol of The Empire in the middle. Airships trailing the greyish blue sky with red color very high above his head covered by a beret of thick fabric and there were papers of colors thrown everywhere.
Of course, at that age, the carefully chosen words in Gestahl´s speech were hard to understand so he used to lose his concentration easily standing up as the ruler spoke from the balcony. Thing that always made a smile appear in the captain Cristophe´s face as he stood next to other officials of his rank.
When the speech finished and the soldiers were free to greet their relatives, Leonard used to approach toward them. For Leo seeing his father in uniform of gala was very grandiose, his whole body tensing up and his right arm bending to imitate the salute until his father started joking, ruffling his blond hair under the beret. Then always giving him a sweet saved in one of his pockets.
Always the best part being the return home taken by the gloved hand of the soldier, walking ahead of the ladies. Imagining himself leading the group like his father next to him looking with an eye to the front...
