Omake 2: "The author is going crazy so she's going to have some fun!"

Disheveledand weary, I leaned over my desk. We were all still sitting in the talk show from the previous omake, looking incredibly worn out. Sighing, I rubbed my temples in futility, trying to rid myself of this awful headache.

"Is author okay?" asked Chii, tilting her head.

"I'm fine Chii," I replied. Although I was smiling, I'm sure my eyes looked weary.

"What a load of—," began Garrett, looking unconvinced.

"That enough from you," I snapped testily. I snapped her fingers with a flourish and he became silent.

While everyone else stared on in amazement at Garrett, who was ranting without any sound coming out, Hideki raised his hand.

"Excuse me," said Hideki, looking more confused by the minute," I still don't get why we're here at this talk-show."

I chewed on a forelock of my curly hair. With the bit of hair still in my mouth, I looked over the characters in front of me. I really was going to miss them. However, the story had been drawn out too long already.

"I just wanted to look at you all before I go," I said with a slight sigh.

Everyone was exchanging quizzical looks. It was as if I were announcing that the sky was going to fall and that I was to blame for that. Honestly, the story ending and the sky falling were both possibilities, but the first option was preferable to the second.

"Go?" asked Minoru, furrowing his brow.

"Is author dying?" asked Chii.

Looking into those innocent brown eyes, I sighed. Leaning forward, I entertwined my fingers. "...you're too sweet, Chii."

"Wait, are you honestly dying?" exclaimed Amber in panic.

"Only if I jump off a building," I shot back sardonically.

All the cast leapt to their feet as if hot pokers had been stabbed into their backsides.

"Eh?!"

Before they could explode into one giant interrogation unit, I held up my hands. They really were excitable, weren't they?

"Sorry, no, I'm not. It's just really crazy right now. But your story is ending, so, celebrate, everyone!"

They seemed unsure at first. However, I cracked a fake smile that was convincing enough for two of hem to throw their hands up in jubilation and shout a hearty "YAY!"

Chii and Yuzuki celebrated alone, with two different types of enthusiasm.

The others were pensive, however. Minoru was stoic, while Hideki looked relieved. Kojima was confused, while Kotoko appeared skeptical about the whole thing. Garrett and Amber, however, seemed to be dreading this announcement.

"Don't kill me!" pleaded Amber, suddenly on her knees in front of my desk. "Please, don't!"

Shaking my head I closed my eyes and folded my arms. Tears would not move me. Maybe tears from other characters would move me to feel pity, but most certainly not her.

"No promises, kiddo," I said unflinchingly.

"So that means you're definitely going to kill her!" protested Hideki, at the almost exact same moment Garrett expressed a similar sentiment.

"No promises!" I pressed a finger to my lips. "Spoilers!"

"Can you tell us anything?" Kotoko inquired, looking irritated with my stubborn, secretive remarks.

"Um..." I looked 'round, scouring my brain for a non-spoilerific answer. When the words I had been searching for popped into my brain, I snapped my fingers. "Believe in love? Believe in luck? And always order the duck!"

"Now you just sound drunk," said Minoru, looking at me with contempt.

"Who left this sake here?!" asked Amber, grabbing the bottle from the floor and looking ready to down it herself.

"It's not my fauuuult. I can't drink for another few months irl!" I swung my fists around like a child, not caring who saw. After all, this was fictionland. And I was the author.

Amber and Garrett buttoned their mouths shut, looking embarrassed by my behavior.

"What is 'I-R-L'?' asked Hideki. He was still struggling in English, it seemed. Hsi pronunciation for the letters was far from Minoru's level.

"Is it a food Chii can make?" asked his girlfriend.

"I believe it's an acronym," said Minoru bluntly, placing his reading spectacles on his face. Why he was doing such an act was odd, but at the moment the others were still trying to figure out the mystery of 'IRL'. Meanwhile, Amber and Garrett weren't saying anything, still.

"For what?" said Kojima. For some reason he felt like he should know that term. It was just about ready to roll off his tongue. His question was directed at Kotoko, though, and she looked away from his piercing stare to roll her eyes.

"How should I know?" asked Kotoko. Kojima was really eying her right now, and she wanted to say something about it, but, then again, they were in front of a studio audience.

At certain intervals during this interview the audience had been providing a very enthusiastic laugh track, and at the moment they were chuckling under their breaths at Kotoko's very Tsundere reaction.

"It stands for 'in real life'," said Yuzuki, streaks of white flashing across her eyes. "It's a term in English that's used on the internet."

"Ah!" said Kojima, slamming a fist into his palm when the connections in his brain snapped into place.

"Of course..." said Minoru, storing this information away for later use.

"In real life," repeated Hideki, trying to get a handle on the English. The pronunciation was alright, aside from his thick accent.

"So, I have a big announcement!" I said, clapping my hands together rapidly.

"Tell us," said Chii. She was bouncing in her seat, making the chair she and Hideki were sitting on, undulated like an ocean wave. "Tell Chii! Chii can keep a secret, you know. Chii hasn't told anyone where the gate is!"

"Yes, Miss Chii, we all know you're a great Secret Keeper," Yuzuki assured her, smiling softly. Her little blonde friend certainly was happy to hear about more secrets.

"Anyway…" I spread my arms wide and grinned, anticipating their response. "I want to announce the virtual soundtrack that will accompany you all!"

No one seemed to know what to say. Everyone looked a little awkward, save for Chii, and were whispering amongst themselves.

Trying to get to the bottom of this, Hideki lifted his hand. "Soundtrack?" Although he wasn't considered to be smart, the young man had an inquisitive minds. The last he checked, stories didn't have soundtracks, as the medium they were transmitted in, the written word, was incompatible with sound.

"It's just a list of songs suggested to listen to while reading," I said, trying to simplify it as much as possible. "I'm also going to upload the entire story to my website when I'm done. In parts, in chapters, and in an omnibus edition!"

Even if my eyes were sparkling, everyone else looked less than thrilled. Well, Chii appeared not to completely understand, so she was smiling. Nevertheless, the rest were not happy about the news. Evidently, I hadn't been enthusiastic enough with my presentation.

"You're going all out with this, aren't you?" said Minoru, peering at me from over his glasses.

Trying not to stare at the little shota, I coughed into my fist. "Yeah. This story is poular, you know."

"How many hits do we get?" said Kojima, whipping out a tablet terminal. Kotoko glared at his hands for a moment in Jealousy, but said nothing.

"Oh, it's in the thousands," I said, shrugging.

"What!?" Hideki became lively all of a sudden, his eyes wide like a child's. "How popular am I?"

"I don't know Hideki. I'd have to take a character poll. But I'm not even a manga magazine, so no one would answer that!"

"Yes, Mr. Motozuwa," Yuzuki said, looking sympathetic, "it is very doubtful that they would answer such a thing."

"But you can never know until you try!" said Hideki, seeming a little mpre than 'just concerned' about his ranking.

I stared at the anxious Japanese man. "That's a nope. Maybe if I find someone to manage my wordpress site…"

"You have a website?" asked Garrett. From looking at his face I could tell that he was already was trying to search for it. Flashes of light streaked across his crystal blue eyes. "I'll look it up, right now."

"Garrett, no!" Rubbing my temples, I tried to focus on his internet connection to sever it. "I don't even have the funds to keep the domain name…" Staring straight ahead, I concentrated, but nothing was happening.

"What." Garrett was already on the main page. I could tell because his face was both thoughtful and confused.

Amber, willing to get as much leverage as possible, shook her partner violently.

"Show me her site, Garrett!"

"Not, you too, Amber! Everyone has betrayed me!" Wailing at the top of my lungs didn't help my case. I already had threatened to off her in the story, and I wasn't about to change my mind because of a little waterworks.

"Why is there so little traffic?" asked Garrett, scanning my analytics page from the sound of it.

"Well, excuse me if people like my fanfiction more than my original works!"

"Doesn't that mean you suck at original writing?" joked Amber.

"You're definitely dying now…" I hissed, glaring at her with glowing eyes.

"Nooooooooo!" shrieked Amber in dismay, flopping back into her chair and throwing a tantrum.
