Okay, so I guess you all deserve to hit me. I said I would write another chapter during winter break, but here we are, in Febuary. I'm sorry everyone! I deeply apologize for the hold up, so have some fluffy birthday fluff!
I hope everyone is doing well this holiday!
~DISCLAIMER: I don't own ROTG or Frozen. Disney and Dreamworks are the amazing companies that have made these wonderful movies!~
-A Few Months Later-
"Say, Elsa, you never told me when your birthday was," Jack grinned, floating around the Queen.
"Well, is it that important to celebrate? You and Anna get so worked up about my birthday. There's no need to go through all the trouble just for a silly day of the year."
The Guardian pouted. "But come on, Elsa! It's your birthday! The day you were born...isn't that important at all to you?"
Elsa chuckled. "Well, of course it's important, Jack. It's just that...I don't want to waste any time just for celebrating. There's more important duties and plans to arrange and accomplish, and I just feel that it's silly to throw a huge celebration just for the Queen of Arendelle."
Jack's expression didn't change. "You're no fun, Elsie." He leaned in close, his eyes widening and pout deepening. "Come on, please~? Let me throw you a birthday party?"
"You don't even know when my birthday is! How can you throw a birthday party when you don't even know when my birthday is?"
"Well, I just figured we'd celebrate today. Just because..." Jack thought deeply. "Just because I feel like we should celebrate today."
Elsa frowned at her lover's twisted logic. "Then...I guess I'll look forward to this so-called 'birthday celebration.'" Elsa pecked Jack's lips. "I have to get going now. Duties, plans, treaties, and such. I love you, Jack."
Watching her disappear into the other room, Jack smiled. "Love you too. You're going to love what I've got planned for you, Snowflake."
Elsa scanned the stack of papers in front of her. A long sigh passed through her lips, and she uncapped the pen beside her.
"How am I ever going to finish this pile today?" She moaned, and signed the first paper.
Treaties with foreign nations.
An hour passed by.
Invitations to this year's Winter's Festival.
Another hour ticked away.
New trading policies.
Apology letters from the Southern Isles.
Thick stacks of tax papers.
Hours, and hours, and hours of working flew by.
"Aha! The last one! I'll be done for sure!" Elsa read the last piece of paper thoroughly, and signed it with a simple swipe and scrawling of her name.
A swaying stack of signed papers quivered as she left her desk, the door slamming shut behind her.
When Elsa thought birthday parties, she didn't think of what Jack had planned for her as one.
At all.
The first snowball smacked her left cheek hard, sure to leave a tender red mark afterwards. The ice burned into her skin, causing shivers to run down her spine.
"...Jack...When I let you plan my birthday party, I didn't mean...this."
Jack frowned. "Huh? What do you mean? It's perfect!"
"You're kidding, right? The ballroom's a mess! There's snow everywhere, and I don't want the servants to clean it up!" Elsa's hands flew about the air around her, an exasperated fling of movements.
"Oh come on, Elsa! You can clean it up with your snow powers! Live a little!"
"You mean YOU can clean it up. I'm not cleaning a speck of this...this blob of snow!" She tried not to let her stern tone waver as an unwanted bubble of laughter threatened to break her stoic composure.
Another snowball exploded its snowy contents all over her chest, and Elsa squeaked in surprise. "JACK! That's it! I'm going to make sure you're covered with snow by the time I'm done with you!"
The fight lasted six hours and twenty minutes approximately, by that time every inch of the castle was somehow covered with snowy residue and ice-slick floors. The Guardian of Fun had just finished cleaning up one of the guest rooms when Elsa decided to take leave.
"Snowflake? Where're you going?"
"...Out." Was the monotonous reply.
"What?! Don't leave me here to clean all by myself, Elsie! Oi, wait for me!" Jack flew out the door, barely noticing a servant tumbling down the icy staircase.
So maybe Elsa was good at planning birthday parties.
Elsa was good at planning her own birthday party.
Jack couldn't deny that.
Ice-made balloons adorned the staircase, frozen in time. A large banquet table filled with chocolate goods stood below the grand chandelier, and the icy walls of the palace seemed to take on an ever-changing array of bright colors.
He had to give it to her; she had skills.
Jack twirled Elsa around in a brief waltz, him humming a soft (and off-key) tune from his lips, and the lady politely covering her lips to restrain from laughing too hard. Jack had tied his hoodie strings into a bow, his posture imitating that of a prince's, and his stiff movements like a robot's.
"How's the party, madame? Satisfactory job, if I do say so myself." Jack deepened his voice an octave, resulting in Elsa's hysterical laughter.
"Well technically I did most of the work. But...it was nice. One of the best, I'd say." She bowed (not at all what a prim lady was supposed to do at the end of a dance) as the dance ended, popping a chocolate into her mouth from the banquet table.
Jack, to Elsa's extreme amusement, curtsied, his nose nearly reaching the floor. "I'm glad. Let us eat and feast like Queens!"
'Yeah,' Elsa thought to herself. 'This birthday was nice.'
"Thank you Jack."
"For what, Elsie?"
"For this."
I apologize for the extremely late uploading of this chapter. I feel really guilty and I'm about to cry and hug a box of tissues because of my false promising! (Just kidding, but I am pretty upset!) Anyway, please review and don't forget about KiPanda! AIR HUGS AIR HUGS!
