"Cupid!" Jack tore down the hallway, scattering flying cherubs and leaving frosty footsteps in his wake. "Cupid! I got them back! My powers are back!"

Jack laughed and sent out snowflakes as he ran, he was so happy. He hadn't been this happy in...well...um... Turns out this was the first time in forever!

Jack laughed again and threw his head back in ecstasy, his feet lifting off the ground with the help of the ecstatic wind. That was when he ran right into the silk covered chest of his host.

Cupid pit both hands on Jack's shoulders, trying to still the hyper winter spirit. He didn't look down when he said. "I wondered why it suddenly got colder in here."

Jack thought he was irritated for a second before he caught the bright smile on the spirit of love's face

Jack giggled in child-like happiness and snow flurries fell slowly from the ceiling.

Cupid laughed aloud too. He didn't need eye sight to see the pain and worry finally leaching out of Jack's blue eyes. He couldn't believe what he said actually worked. For a while he had thought that the guardian of fun had lost all hope. Speaking of the guardians...

"now what are you going to do?" Cupid asked. He could feel Jack calm down a little at the question and the serious tone Cupid took over.

"Ummm." Jack searched his mind. What was his next move? "Ahhh...oh I'm gonna talk to the guardians." Jack let out a little chuckle and laugh after that sentence. He was feeling more like himself now and that meant the return of cocky and sarcastic answers.

Cupid took that in. "Okay...we'll be here for you if you need us, Jack. Just remember what I said about love okay? Take care of yourself."

Jack swallowed. He hadn't meant now. But not wanting to overstay his welcome, Jack just smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine!"

Then, taking a deep breath–he hadn't done this in a while!– Jack threw himself put the open window.

Jack never realized how high the cabin-like-palace was. His white hair flew straight back and some tears leaked out of his eyes and the wind howled in his face. But...Jack had fallen much farther.

"Hey, wind!" Jack screamed, the snow covered ground coming up fast. "Take me home!"

He couldn't help but wince at his choice of words. Yeah right, like that hell hole was a home.

Elsa had been sitting in the room her sister resided in, pushing some food around on a Christmas themed plate. Anna just waltzed in, humming some catchy tune to herself. Elsa laughed and smiled at her sister and took a bite of chicken for her benefit.

Elsa had been trying to get better. She wanted to get better. And it wasn't like she even knew...him for that long. Elsa frowned a little at the topic her mind insisted on contemplating. She was eating a enough now, she was talking to people again. Even if she hadn't sung in a while. It wasn't even a thing that needed to be done. Sure she felt like it was extremely weird not too but...still...

Suddenly, a cold gust of wind randomly flew in Elsa's face, making her long braid fly over her shoulder and the snow queen couldn't help but gasp.

Hearing the noise, Anna turned around and said with a mouthful of apple, "'lsa?"

Her sister was just sitting there, panting hard, staring into the distance.

Confused and a little worried, Anna walked over and waved her hand in front of Elsa's face. "'Ello?"

Elsa took a shuddering breath and blinked slowly. What she had felt, the feeling that had washed over her, the only way she could describe it was wintery, fun, and...

"Jack Frost." She whispered.

Swallowing her food, Anna knelt down at Elsa's side. She had just started to get better, Elsa couldn't go back into her depression, Anna couldn't handle it. "What? What about Jack?"

Elsa took one look at her sister and said. "Looks like he's coming back."

"How do you know that?" Anna asked, if she was going to tell the guardians she wanted to be absolutely sure.

Elsa shrugged. "Jamie's here, I could feel it. He's coming back but he's…different..."

"Different?" Anna asked. "Different how?"

Elsa's thin eyebrows drew together in her confusion. "I'm not sure...but something's different. He's, I don't know, stronger or something...not so afraid..."

"Whoooooo hoooooo!" Jack screamed as he flew over the Arctic Ocean. He could see his reflection in the blue water he was quickly flying over. He was actually smiling. It was nuts! Jack laughed loudly and traced his hand over the water, creating ripples that froze over, it was a path of ice. Jack laughed again.

This was so crazy! He never really knew...he never knew how much his powers we a part of him. That must've why Jack felt so horrible! He had been without them and he didn't know the misery he was causing himself.

The cabin/castle had been somewhere in Russia, so Jack wasn't expecting a long trip. Not that he would've minded, it was wonderful to fly again, to have one of the only spirits-the wind-be with him again. It was wonderful.

Land the place he was flying to was so...so...not.

Jack could feel some of his good mood deflate as he thought about what he was doing. He couldn't believe he was going through with this. He couldn't believe he was starting this over again. But there was Jamie.

Jack had not forgotten about him. Jack was going to save Jamie no matter what. There was no way he was going to let his little brother stay an ice sculpture forever. But he also wasn't going to let the guardians out him through that again.

He would rather die than go through that again. It was never going to happen. Not to him.

"I'm not gonna be apart of their game." Jack told the wind. "I'm not gonna be just a victim."

And here he was was. Singing. Again. He had honestly thought he was done with that but he had been wrong. Maybe he was wrong about this too. "They'd taken my dream and they tore them apart, 'till we were all the same..."

"I've got no where to go, I've got no where to run, they'd love to watch me fall, they think they know it all." Jack sang bitterly, not as loud as before. He wasn't really happy about this, he didn't understand why he was doing this. "I'm a nightmare, a disaster. That's what they always said."

"I'm a lost cause not a hero." Jack looked down at his reflection again. He didn't want to look at himself anymore, more memories were coming back, so he flew up higher into the cold clouds. He couldn't help but smile when he felt the icy wind biting his face. "but I'll make it on my own. I gotta prove them wrong."

Jack let his old, self-satisfied smirk onto his face, the familiar expression making him feel like his old self. "Me against the world!"

Nothing has really changed in that department, then. "it's me against the world!"

"I won't let them change I feel in my heart. I'm not gonna let them control me." Again. "I won't let them shove all their thoughts in my head." Jack's expression darkened. "and I'll never be like them."

Jack looked forward and saw the mountain/island that only spirits could see. A large workshop was built into its rocky face and Jack could see the multicolored smoke rising out of the roof. He was almost there... "I've got no place to go, I've got no place to run, They love to watch me fall, they think they know it all."

He really wanted to high tail it out of there, but Jack knew this was it. He already knew he couldn't run forever. He would have to go back eventually.

"I'm a nightmare," Jack muttered, flying a little slower. "a disaster. That's what they always said. I'm a lost cause, not a hero. But I'll make it on my own."

"I've gotta prove them wrong," Jack landed on the snow covered ground. It was more of a little chant now than a song, a way to remind himself of what he went through and how he was going to overcome it. "me against the world. It's me against the world."

"now I'm sick of this waiting so come on and take your shot." Jack took a deep breath and marched toward the front doors defiantly. He was still a ways off but he didn't care. He wasn't in any hurry really. "you can spit all your insults but nothing you say's gonna change me."

Jack walked forward with a straight back and eyes set ahead of him. He was done looking back after all. "You can sit there and judge me, say what you want to, I'll never let you in."

"I'm a nightmare, a disaster." Jack was on the front steps now, looking at the large wooden doors. "that's what you always said. I'm a lost cause not a hero, but I'll make it on my own."

Jack stood in front of the gates to he'll not sure if he really wanted to open them or not. Jack sighed, he really didn't want to do this, he wanted to fly away and never look back, go back to the remains of his ice palace. He had all of eternity to fix it now. But there were two things on the other side of this door, two things he desperately wanted. "Me against the world."

Jack lifted his hand and was about to knock when he lost his nerve and placed his open palm on the door frame. He pressed his forehead to the wood and sighed with his eyes closed. He couldn't do it, even with his powers he was still scared of the people that were supposed to protect him.

"I'm a nightmare," Jack whispered to himself. "a disaster, that's what you always said. I'm a lost cause, not a hero."

Jack lifted his head. He could do this. He knew he could. "but I'll make it on my own."

Blue eyes sharpened and Jack glared at the door, some snow and ice starting to swirl at his feet. "I've got to prove you wrong, you'll never bring me down, you love to fall in line, I'll make it on my own."

"it's me against the world." Jack's hand formed a fist. He was so done with knocking. Ready or not, he thought, here I come!

With all the force he possessed, Jack threw the door open and stormed in sigh his classic trouble-maker smile on his face.

"Lucy, I'm hooooooome!"
