Chapter 36: Just the Start

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I actually take back what I said about the 100 follower chapter special for my next RWBY story on here. Instead, that will be the 2nd Arc of this story. So once I reach 100 followers, it'll just be like the other 20 followers special event in where I instantly upload the next chapter the moment I notice it. So we are no longer nearing the end of the story, but rather the 1st Arc. Don't forget to post a review, follow or favorite if you like the story or want to let me know something! "You're too slow!" The man in black shouted as he did the impossible and limboed under a horizontal swipe of Crescent Rose that should have taken off his knees. "I thought your semblance was speed!" He shouted before placing his hands on the ground, did a backwards cartwheel and kicked Ruby in the face with the his foot. "When I said All or Nothing, I meant it!" He added before he landed on his feet and started attacking Ruby, who managed to keep up at the speed he was going.

"Ruby!" Weiss shouted before Ruby rolled out of the way to reveal Weiss who did a spin before stabbing Myrtenaster into the ground and a trail of ice rose out of the ground towards the man in black before it quickly passed his legs and covered them in thick ice, rooting him to the spot. Though Weiss had carefully timed it and used a lot of her strength in it, she collapsed on the spot, too tired to stand up.

"Blake now!" Ruby shouted before Blake ran up to the man in black, holding both halves of Gambol Shroud in its blade form. The moment she got up within range, the man in black swiped his broadsword at her only for her to suddenly become a blur before she appeared to the man in black's left, taking the opening as her chance to strike. Though she noticed just in time the man in black was one step ahead as he had his katana ready to strike her down.

Blake used her semblance again and again, moving all around the man in black, trying to get a hit in but failed and it would either result in her almost getting hit herself, or her attack was deflected. She was about at her limit before she used her semblance one last time to jump back and keep her distance.

"He's too fast and he's always a step ahead of our moves!" Blake shouted before watching Yang and Ruby charge pass her and towards the man in black together.

Even with the powerhouse Yang wailing on the man in black while Ruby tried to attack faster than ever before, they failed it seemed like none of their attacks were doing anything even with the man in black still rooted to the spot. Though that didn't last long as the man in black suddenly broke the ice holding his legs to the spot before kicking Yang off her feet before slamming her whole body right to the ground using nothing but the butt of his katana on her side, the cracking and ease of pressure meant a rib had broken for Yang.

Ruby lost focus when she saw Yang suddenly taken down like that and didn't have time to react when the man in black grabbed her foreleg and threw her across the cafeteria, a pop and intense pain shot through Ruby's knee joint as she felt it might have been dislocated. She regained her balance and slid to a stop only to wench in pain as she felt her right knee joint hurting, but she had only looked down at her leg for a moment before looking back up to see the man in black charging at her with incredible speed.

Ruby put all the weight she could put and put it on her left leg, not being able to concentrate on her dislocated right knee joint while fighting the inhuman beast in front of her.

"You are a scythe user, the hardest human opponent you'll ever fight… is another scythe user…" The man in black said before he managed to disarm Ruby of Crescent Rose with swift and fluent movements, stabbing his swords in the ground as he held the scythe with one hand. It didn't look so big when the man in black was holding it.

He spun Crescent Rose around with just fluid movements it would have impressed Ruby if not given the situation and where the sharp blade was about to collide into. But before the man in black could even take off a limb, it was shot out of his hand and he looked to see Qrow standing there, holding the gun-form of his scythe with smoke leaving the barrel.

"No one harms my nieces and her friends…" Qrow said before he leaped towards the man in black, his weapon changing to its scythe form as he was in the air, ready to attack as he got closer to the man in black.

Not much later

"C'mon Neptune we have to hurry!" Sun shouted as he ran through the grounds of Beacon, heading towards the cafeteria at full speed. He got a text from Blake saying they were needed right now.

"I'm running as fast as I can man! I'm the one who wasn't born half primate!" Neptune shouted.

They ran as fast as their legs could carry them, nearing the cafeteria before hearing the clashing of metal and shouts and grunts. They didn't stop and barged through the doors to find Ruby and Yang's uncle Qrow fighting the man in black, though Qrow had cuts and bruises while the man in black had none to show. Sun looked around before seeing team RWBY all slumped by a wall, breathing heavily and tired.

"Sorry we took so long!" Sun shouted before pulling out his good-old shotgun-nunchucks and ran towards the man in black before taking Qrow's place as he stumbled back, clutching his side till he walked over to team RWBY and slumped down the wall just like they had done a few minutes ago.

"Damn… I think he broke 3 or 4 of my ribs with that last kick…" Qrow said as he clenched in pain for a moment.

"You did good uncle… just rest and wait till dad and the others show up to help…" Ruby said. She was wondering why the staff of Beacon hadn't interfered or showed up yet, but that would soon have been answered. She had asked team JNPR to go and get as much help as possible.

Sun slipped up as he was attempting to fake out an attack and his nunchucks left an opening to his side, letting the man in black swing his katana right towards the opening. Only, before it could have cut into Sun the katana was blasted out of the man in black's hands and the weapon had its blade slam into the ground with a metallic shing.

The man in black turned turned to face the doors to see Neptune and Glenda Goodwitch, holding her riding crop.

"I don't think much explanation is needed for what is going on…" Glenda said before she narrowed her eyes as she saw the man in black calmly walking up to her. She took a stance and with a swish of her crop, she sent forth a nearly invisible force of energy towards the man in black, it faintly could be seen by the purple outline for what were probably the edges of it.

"Pathetic…" The man in black said before he swung his broadsword and the force of energy shot off like a ricochet bullet and into the wall. "A stupid horse whip won't stop me…" He said before he managed to walk in front of Glenda.

With a thrust, he sent his sword forward, only for it to crash into a force field around Glenda, creating purple sparks and electricity before the broadsword was blown out of the man in black's hands and landed exactly next to the katana, even at the opposite angle to make them look criss-crossed.

"You were saying?" Glenda said before she widened her eyes to see the man in black reach his hand out and let it crash into the force field protecting Glenda. "He'll destroy his hand that way!" Glenda thought before she gasped as she watched her force field shatter like glass.

The man in black grabbed Glenda by the face and slammed her onto the ground, already knocking her out with that one blow, but kicked her in the side and sent her outside the cafeteria.

"Professor Goodwitch!" Neptune shouted before he reached for his weapon and the moment he pulled it out, he was face to stomach with the towering man in black. "Oh... crap…" Neptune said before he was swept off his feet and kicked in the side while in mid-air before crashing into Sun who was running up to them.

"Why didn't you reach for your weapon earlier when I was fighting Sun or busy with Glenda before I broke 2 of her ribs with that kick?" The man in black asked.

"She said she would handle it…" Neptune moaned.

"Hmm…" The man in black simply said before he walked to his swords and pulled them out before giving them a spin in his hand before he walked towards Sun and Neptune who still were laying on one another. "Perhaps it is time to end this little game… starting with a monkey named after a burning hunk of rock and a blue-haired boy named after a God…" He said before he stood over them, ready to bring down his weapons when he heard the sudden crackle of electricity and backflipped to dodge a shot of lightning before making acrobatic moves to dodge even more incoming lightning attacks.

The man in black suddenly stopped dodging and spread his legs to create a stance before he quickly raised one hand and a solid stone wall rose in front of him, blocking the last lightning bolt.

"Dad's here…" Yang said with a grin.

The wall the man in black had created suddenly was destroyed as a Taiyang burst through it, and punched the man in black right in the face before a roaring inferno went off as Taiyang sent some power into that hit. The man in black was sent backwards before regaining his balance and slid to a stop, his jaw was clearly dislocated. Though, he simply grabbed his jaw and snapped it back into place without a single flinch or sound of pain.

"So you're the bastard who made me worry about Yang and Ruby…" Taiyang said before he cracked his knuckles and charged at the man in black with incredible speed. He sent a punch straight into the man in black's stomach before using his other fist and made contact with his temple, the force sending the man in black to the ground. Taiyang lifted his foot and attempted to curbstomp the man in black, only for him to roll out of the way before Taiyang's foot went into the ground.

"I guess you're the father then…" The man in black said before throwing his swords aside and took a stance with closed fists. "How about we make the fight more even?" He said with a grin.

"That'll be your disadvantage!" Taiyang shouted as he sent a punch forward, going right for the head, only for the man in black to block with his forearm and push Taiyang's whole arm aside. With Tai open, the man in black gave a furious row of punches to his stomach before an uppercut to the chin. Taiyang shook off the pain and his arms were consumed in blazing flames, his punches were faster and stronger, yet the man in black still managed to keep up with the muscular blonde father of Yang and Ruby. The two fighters soon turned their fight into a barrage of fists, they were moving so fast hey could have only been seen either colliding with one another or very blurry when they were moving forward.

With one final punch, they both hit their opponent right in the face, though Taiyang was sent flying into the wall before sliding down with a moan.

"That was fun…" The man in black said before he held out both arms and the swords suddenly shot right to hands where he gripped them tightly. "But not enough to beat me…" The man in black said as he slowly made his way to Taiyang who was recovering from being dazed after the punch and hitting the wall.

Yang was about to get up when she clutched her side, feeling the immense amount of pain the man in black dealt when he broke her lowest rib on that side with the butt of his katana. "Damn… if only we were all here when the fight started…" Yang cursed in her head as she couldn't even stand up with the pain hurting so much.

"Arrivederci..." The man in black said as he stood in front of Taiyang, his katana behind his head as he wrapped his arm around his head, ready to slash his blade. The man in black suddenly had his eyes shot wide open before he dropped his weapons and lowers his arms before he looked down at his chest and saw a blade sticking out of it, before it was quickly retracted.

"A-ahhh…" The man in black let out a painful sound as if he was trying to say something while holding in the pain of being stabbed through the back and out the chest. He clenched his wound even before it suddenly burst with black blood. He turned around and there stood Penny with her multiple swords floating behind her, the smile that almost seemed always on her face was gone however.

"Y-You're…" The man in black said before he coughed up white blood. "Synthetic… man made…" The man in black said before Penny narrowed her eyes and suddenly barraged the man with swords before they simply stuck inside him and either didn't or wouldn't come out. Taiyang used this moment to get away from the closeness of the fight, still not fully recovered from the fight.

The man in black's whole chest and face was covered in swords before Penny jumped back and pulled out all the blades before they formed a circle in the air and spun around before a green ball of energy formed in the center and with a sudden forward motion of Penny's arms the green glowing ball transformed into a giant green laser that shot towards the man in black before consuming him from head to toe in the massive laser.

When it ended the man in black was now nothing but a burnt corpse, standing upright before it fell to the ground. That was the only silence for the moment before everyone burst into cheers and applause with the defeat of the man in black. Everyone got up and made their way to Penny who walked passed the burnt corpse, only failing to notice that it stood up and quickly regenerated back into the man in black with no wounds and still wearing that black suit with no dirt marks on it.

"That fucking hurt!" The man in black shouted with a face full of rage before his katana shot to his hand and he raised it over his head before Penny had time to even react, though the others reacted as soon as they saw the regeneration part.

Yang suddenly put all strength into her legs, knowing Ruby wouldn't be fast enough as she had dislocated her right knee joint and hadn't had time to pop it back in properly when she was fighting. Yang pushed Penny out of the way, only to watch as the blade slowly made its way down, meaning that it would cleaved her in half if she had to guess just how much power was in the attack. She closed her eyes and braced for the worst, knowing there was no way she couldn't get out of this unharmed.

Though she never felt the blade hit her, she cautiously opened her eyes before they shot open to see someone she would not have expected to see, Wasure was blocking the attack with her forearm, standing right there in front of Yang and the man in black. With the moment suddenly seeming like it was frozen in time, there was silence and not a single movement for what felt like several minutes before Wasure punched the man in black in his face and sent him flying into a wall.

"N-no way…" Ruby said as she and everyone else watched Wasure stand tall and firm after sending the man in black flying.
