Chapter Thirty Six

(Hey, y'all.

For all of you Bob Hoskins, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Hook fans, I have some very terrible, tragic, and sad news:

I just found out that Bob Hoskins passed away on April 29th.

Yes, you heard me.

BOB HOSKINS IS DEAD.

Bob Hoskins was very famous for playing Mr. Smee from Hook but we all know Hoskins for playing Eddie Valiant, another one of his famous roles.

So keep his family and friends in your prayers and remember the good times and roles that he played in his life.

Rest in Peace, Bob Hoskins. You will always be our Eddie Valiant.

Oh! I added a portion with Eddie Valiant in it and I would like to dedicate that portion to Bob.

Enjoy the story and life as it goes!

Beatrice:

Five minutes after Greasy talked about the dream, it began to rain really hard. Greasy told me that he walked all the way from Toon Town to my house and that meant that he drive his way over here. I figured that Greasy will have to spend the rest of the night here and leave first thing in the morning.

I don't have a crush on Greasy!

I just thought that it wouldn't be very nice to let Greasy walk back to Toon Town and get wet in the rain. I don't like to be mean to guests and Greasy is a guest…and a friend, mostly.

Just seconds after explaining to Greasy about what to do if he needed anything while I try to go back to sleep, I walked back to my room and left my door cracked open a little bit.

As I got under my bed covers, the thunder boomed really loudly and the lightning flashed for a brief second.

Then, I turned to my phone (which was plugged into my radio) and turned it on. I pressed the music tab on my screen and pressed another tab that was labeled Playlists.

I scrolled down the screen for a little bit and I pressed the Quiet Piano & Normal Songs tab. As I read the names of the songs, I slowly began to grow sleepy. That tells me that I need to make a decision or I'll fall asleep before I make a choice.

Finally, I picked a song.

Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton John.

As the song began to play, I turned down the volume a little bit and took slow deep breaths as I closed my eyes.

"There's a calm surrender,

To the rush of day…" Elton John began to sing on my radio.

Sing it, Elton. I thought. Sing it.

…..

Greasy:

It felt like an hour when I tried to go to sleep.

Even when I tried to think about nice and quiet things, I still couldn't sleep.

After sighing in frustration, I hopped off the couch and I walked to Beatrice's room.

I followed the sound of soft music playing until I came across the familiar bedroom door that was cracked open. I took a deep breath and gently pushed the door open.

Beatrice's back was on me and I silently walked towards her as I took my hat off.

After setting the hat aside, I untied my shoes and placed them under my hat.

I jumped in surprise a little bit when Beatrice rolled on to her back. Fortunately, she didn't wake up.

I took off my coat and climb on to Beatrice's bed.

She sighed really loudly and then, she went back to being silent.

Maybe she's a sound sleeper. I thought as I picked up a pillow and pressed it against the wall.

After waiting a few seconds, I looked at Beatrice in confusion.

I can't hear her breathing and she's not moving.

What is she doing? Holding her breath?

I leaned over her and placed my ear over Beatrice's mouth.

Yep, she's breathing. I can feel Beatrice breathe slowly and steadily on my ear and the side of my face.

I sat back on the pillow.

I'm beginning to realize that Beatrice is always full of surprises and tricks. I thought and sighed. She just fooled me. I thought that she was holding her breath but Beatrice was really just breathing slowly and steadily. Tricky, tricky Beatrice.

I sighed and whispered,

"Yep."

Then, I gently placed my coat over Beatrice and after that, I leaned over her and kissed her on her cheek.

"Noche agradable, mi amor." I whispered in Beatrice's ear.

Third Person POV:

One thought that had been lingering in Yen Sid's mind was Beatrice sharing the same dream as Greasy. Since Wheezy came over to his tower in the afternoon hours and told him about the dream, Yen Sid couldn't stop thinking about it. That thought lingered in his mind since the afternoon hours.

"Beatrice and Greasy…sharing the same dream." Yen Sid said to himself as he was opening a book and flipped through some pages.

He finally came across the page that explained some things about Toons falling in love with humans.

"Toons and Humans: Love and Other Relationships

LOVE- A very strong, powerful, and tense feeling of affection or a tender, passionate affection for another person

Like humans, Toons fall in love.

If a Toon and a human fall in love with each other, they would have a very strong attachment, as how it is typically displayed in life.

Sometimes, either the Toon or the human need to have some or a lot of time to confirm or reject their feelings towards each other.

. If a Toon falls in love with a human and if the human slowly warms up to them as their friend, there's a very big chance that the human will confirm their feelings.

…Love gives two persons a very powerful connection with each other and….."

Then, Yen Sid stopped reading that page and he grabbed another book after turning to the bookshelf.

He opened the book and flipped four pages.

On the fourth page, there was a drawing of Beatrice and a drawing of Greasy. On the top of the page, the title was called Beatrice and Greasy…In LOVE?

Yen Sid, then, began to think about how love and the other mysteries of life can be so crazy and unpredictable.

…..

*Meanwhile…in the office of the Valiant & Valiant Private Investigators*

He was famous for solving mystery cases for Toons.

He was also famous for solving the cases with his brother.

He was known for his drinking problem after his brother died in Toon Town.

He made a very reluctant comeback with two teenagers (as witnessed by some) after being set up by a boss of a cartoon studio, taking pictures of the wife of a cartoon star, and being persuaded by the teenagers and cartoon star to solve a mystery case that stunned both Hollywood and Toon Town.

Yes, sir…or ma'am. This is Eddie Valiant that we're talking about.

Ever since he, Beatrice, and Tommy worked together to clear Roger's name, Eddie decided to start solving cases for Toons again.

How well did he improve?

Very well.

Just three days after the murder of Marvin Acme, Eddie Valiant tidied up his office, getting rid of bottles of bourbon and trash, and even tidied up Teddy's desk.

Eventually, Eddie stopped drinking and moved on to eating jelly beans.

What's Eddie doing right now?

Right now, he's sitting at his desk and reading an article that talked about his comeback.

"Toon Detective Makes A Comeback and Clears Roger's Name," The headline said.

Even though Eddie read that article about a thousand times, he enjoyed reading it. After facing the Toon who killed his brother, Teddy, Eddie never felt better. He even claimed that he can do anything now.

Although memories have a way of coming and going as time passes, Roger's 'murder' case was something that Eddie could never forget. He couldn't even forget about those two teenagers, Beatrice and Tommy Birchwood, who walked in to the bar one day and even hired them as his assistants until Roger's name was cleared. Eddie can remember the time when Beatrice finally persuaded him to face his fears and accept the fact that not all idiots in the world are bad. He can even remember the way Tommy would stick to the plan and stick with him and Beatrice during times of trouble.

"Good kids." Eddie said with a smile and gobbled on a jelly bean. "Good, good kids."

But there were two things that would often come and go in Eddie's mind and on some days, he would ask himself (and maybe even to Roger whenever he would come over and visit):

"How are Beatrice and Tommy doing right now?" Eddie asked on most days.

"I really wonder what they're up to." He would say on some days.

He wonders…
