"I heard you met my son on your brief stay at Gallagher."

"It was hard not to." I retorted as the whip hit my back for the forty-second time in the last ten minutes.

"He used to be more…. evil and such. My perfect little assassin. Made for the job too. He never forgot to tie up loose ends. Then, Joe Soloman happened. I sent Zach to Blackthorne because it was a circle recruiting ground. Joe was there to keep an eye on him. But Joe wasn't actually working for me, was he? He pulled Zach over to the good side," she scoffed, rolling her eyes, "It wasn't meant to be this way. I was supposed to have Zachy, we were going to be the evil duo."

I clenched my teeth to keep from retorting and facing worse punishment, I knew that if I didn't let myself heal I wouldn't last another ten days, let alone however long it took me to get out this time.

"I hate Joe for that. I don't necessarily blame him for leaving, although he was supposed to stay loyal, I blame him for taking my son. But now, he's too far gone, and I won't hesitate to kill him for a greater purpose, of course, he'll always have a place among the circle, and maybe someday he'll take me up on the offer."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night Catherine."

"Ready to tell me what I want to know, Cameron darling?"

"NEVER." I snarled.

"Fine, I'll be back, same time tomorrow?" She walked out, her heels clicking on the solid concrete floor. As she left I did recon. They had updated security, but not by much. The cameras only made two hundred fifty degree rotations, which gave me varying different degrees of escape. My hands were bound behind my back in rope, which was cutting into my wrists really annoyingly. My ankles were tied in the same fashion under my chair. The chair was welded to the ground.

I just had to wait until the right time.

I had escaped before.

I would do it again.

Four hours later I was out, and in the middle of nowhere.

I had no clue where I was, or how I had even gotten there, I was pretty sure that the ride there was pretty short, but it looked like I was in Nevada. Or Iowa. Or any other small middle-of-nowhere state or town or place on the face of the earth. I walked toward the setting sun, and figured that I would have to get to a town sooner or later.

And I did, about seven hours later I reached some town in Hoover, Kentucky. I'm not sure if it was actually a real town, or if it was on the map, but it was about five hours by bus, if I had any money. Truth be told, I could walk it in about ten hours, but I was pretty sure that walking could get me caught by the circle who would realize I was gone in about twenty minutes. So I ran.

I was home in seven hours give or take, and it took me about ten minutes to bypass security at Gallagher. I snuck up to my room through a secret passageway and after checking to see if my roommates were in the room, I changed into a new uniform, pulling my dads Blackthorne sweatshirt over it to hide to marks up and down my arms. I ate a cracker out of our secret stash and headed down to the my moms office, in which everyone was there and having a meeting. About me. Perfect timing.

"We have to go after her!" Grant yelled at my mom.

"Of course we're going after her. The real question is when."

"Now! We don't know who has her but we can track her through her shoes." I looked down at my shoes in question and then stared at Liz with my head cocked. She put trackers on my shoes!

"I say we start now! I don't want her getting hurt." I had to hold in my giggles. Zach cared. I decided to voice my opinions.

"Good to know you guys care." I stepped out from the shadows.
