Porcelain and Warm Honey

A/N

Heeey! Making up for keeping you waiting last time, and posting this now :)) Hope ya'll well, and all that stuff... This chapter is a bit more summer and fluff and bittersweetness, and I hope you'll like it! I'll say it again, I'm terribly annoyed that the links to the pendants can't be seen, I spend way too much time finding them...

Sorry as always for mistakes and thank you so much for all the sweet acknowledgments!

Chapter 35

Sunday, Blaine decided it was time for their second date – he had eventually told Kurt close to all his ideas after the boy had used unfair tools to persuade him – which consisted of a picnic at 'their place' since he figured it had been awfully long.

So that morning the two of them got up early – early for Kurt anyway – and started making sandwiches for the picnic basket immediately. When Blaine with a teasing grin showed Kurt the strawberries he had bought for the occasion, the cyan-eyed boy laughed. "For old time's sake," Blaine had said and stuck out his tongue at him when Kurt rolled his eyes.

The day was warmer than expected when they had first started walking, and before half an hour was up, Blaine threw off his shirt, much to Kurt's delight. One hour later and Kurt followed Blaine's example. The walk was mostly silent, Blaine just a few feet ahead of him, and Kurt took advantage of the quiet room to enjoy the beauty that the forest was at this time of the year. The trees seemed greener, the bushes more lush and the flowers fully bloomed. There was constant ruffling of life and bird's twittering could be heard everywhere. Kurt found the moment absolutely breathtaking. Sure, Kurt Hummel had never been the outdoorsy type, but he appreciated the beauty of the nature nonetheless.

His gaze fell on Blaine, who was still walking ahead of him, and he smiled softly. Not just because his boyfriend looked hot as hell, walking shirtless, his muscles flexing with each step he took, but because of the way his shoulders seemed completely relaxed out here, the muscles in his back soothed. Kurt had noticed just how tense his back and shoulders had been these couple of weeks, and it worried him, made him feel terribly guilty. To see Blaine completely at peace like that was better than any gift he could ever give him.

Kurt didn't really know how Blaine had managed it, but after a few hours, he had found the way and they were standing in front of the opening to 'Their Place'. Maybe he really had an amazing sense of direction?

They spent the entire afternoon by the lake, eating, swimming and simply lying down and taking in the sight of the place, now more beautiful than ever, just like the rest of the forest. The Kurt Tree, as Blaine called it, stood taller and greater than ever, its crown simply breathtaking, even bigger and greener.

Blaine had been so serene, something Kurt hadn't been too used to this weekend, and it made him curious (he shooed the thought 'worried' away when his mind offered the word). When he asked if something was up, though, Blaine had just smiled and kissed him earnestly. And the way he looked at him afterwards told Kurt that he had nothing to worry about. He believed him.

When the boys came home that evening, they were both completely exhausted and starving – since it was past seven already, it was pretty intelligible. They decided to order in.

"Chinese," Kurt said sternly, when Blaine pleaded for pizza. "I don't feel like empty calories today, B."

"But Kuurt, we burnt a lot of calories today. And yesterday," Blaine pouted. "I really want pizza." Kurt looked at him stubbornly. "What if I promise we'll burn them afterwards?"

"Lucy and James will be home anytime now, B," Kurt deadpanned and Blaine pouted a bit more, making Kurt roll his eyes, because how was it fair that he had been born with such an adorable puppy-pout?

"I'll be in eternal debt to you?" Kurt just stared at him blankly, as if to ask if that was all he got. "Come ooon, I'm begging, my love."

Kurt threw back his head and groaned. "Fine!" he exclaimed. "But I'll take you up on that eternal debt. And the calorie burning." Blaine's beamed and nodded eagerly. "And when I get fat, you won't comment on it."

Blaine just snorted and snuck his arms around Kurt. "Like that's even possible for you," he said. "And I hardly think pizza will do it."

Kurt just shrugged, and slid his arms around Blaine's neck, sighing tiredly. Blaine pulled him closer and rested his head on Kurt's shoulder, making the boy laugh. "B, if you want pizza, you should probably order."

"In a bit," he mumbled, sounding utterly endearing. "I'm comfy and exhausted." Kurt smiled and swayed them both slightly, leaning more comfortably against the kitchen counter.

"I know, me too," he said. "Today was really amazing, though."

Blaine looked up and smiled. "It really was, wasn't it?" His smile had gone teasing, with a confident spark to it.

"Yep, B, all your plans are amazing, you're ingenious," Kurt said and rolled his eyes, and Blaine pouted.

"Are you making fun of me now?"

"No," Kurt said and laughed before kissing the tip of his nose. "I'm actually being serious, these 'dates' have been perfect."

Blaine apparently bought that, because his face broke into the widest, most breathtaking, and childish smile. "Just wait 'till you get the pendants to immortalize them all."

Kurt chuckled and pulled his head a bit closer to his. "I can't wait," he whispered before kissing him sweetly, but feverishly. He burrowed his fingers in Blaine's unruly curls, making sure the bracelet brushed his neck and he felt Blaine shiver slightly. He kissed him back passionately, and hummed when Kurt scratched his scalp like he knew drove him crazy.

Just as Blaine's hand started to rub his back gently, their moment was interrupted by the sound of two car doors slamming, making Kurt jump back. Blaine groaned quietly and looked out of the window, which Kurt realized with dread, was just in front of them. And sure enough, there was Lucy and James both waving and winking suggestively. Kurt closed his eyes in mortification. When Blaine saw his reaction, he laughed out loud and kissed his reddening cheek.

"Kurt, relax, it's not like they actually care," he chuckled and Kurt glared at him.

"How do we manage to be walked in on by everyone?" he asked, ignoring Blaine's soothing comment. Blaine just got to send him an amused expression, before the door opened and two voices called out.

"Hello boys."

"Hey lovebirds!"

The latter was naturally from Lucy.

"Hi dad, hey Lucy," Blaine yelled, grin evident in his voice, not letting go of Kurt no matter how hard the boy tried to disentangle himself.

The two adults stepped into the room, knowing smiles on their faces, and Kurt scowled at Blaine trying to get the boy to let him go. When Blaine reluctantly did, he turned around to face Lucy and James with an innocent smile. "Hi," he said, and felt Blaine's strong arms around his waist again almost making him roll his eyes dramatically.

"Good day?" Lucy said with a smile.

"Sure, B was just about to order pizza, right honey?" he said pointedly and turned his head to Blaine. The boy sighed exaggeratedly and let him go to get the phone.

Kurt just smiled innocently his way, before turning to his parents-in-law (to-be, anyway). "Sorry about that. It's good to see you again, Lucy," he said and went to hug the woman with one arm, which she fully reciprocated.

"It's wonderful to see you, too, Kurt. I see you're well?" she said and smiled teasingly.

Kurt chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I am," he said. "We are." He pulled back and looked at James as well. "You had a good trip?"

"Absolutely," James nodded and went to hug Lucy from behind.

"Charmed my parents' pants off. And I'm pretty sure my sister's in love with him," she said and rolled her eyes.

Kurt laughed wholeheartedly and nodded. "I know that feeling, I'm pretty sure half of my girlfriends secretly are in love with B," he said. "One of them not so secretly." Lucy laughed and looked intrigued, and Kurt ended telling them all about Rachel almost serenading him if it hadn't been for him coming in between. In the middle of his story, Blaine came back, a suspicious look in his eye, and both James and Lucy laughed louder when Blaine hid his face in his hands the moment he heard what Kurt was telling them.

"Okay, in my defense, she had just broken up with her boyfriend. She was desperate," Blaine said evenly, and this time it was Kurt's turn to wrap his arms around his boyfriend and kiss his cheek noisily. "Honey, there's no excuse, you just have to admit that you are the blindest creature on earth when it comes to girls crushing on you."

Blaine rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue at him, making Kurt roll his eyes fondly and Lucy and James to laugh out loud again.

"Oh, and has he ever told the story with the drunk girl he followed home?" Kurt asked, and Blaine scowled at him.

"No, I believe you haven't," Lucy said overdoing her fascination, and James looked rather interested as well.

"Really Kurt? Really?" Blaine groaned and Kurt, James and Lucy laughed wholeheartedly.

"This isn't… strange for you, right?" Blaine asked tentatively as they approached the gravestone. "I always, you know, talk to her. I know some people might find that strange."

Kurt turned to him, his eyes soft, and squeezed his hand. Blaine instantly felt himself relax. "B, you're forgetting who you're talking to. My mother died when I was eight, I always came to sit and tell her everything about my day."

Blaine smiled sadly his way, sending him an apologetic look. "Sorry," he said, and stopped up when they had reached the familiar stone. Kurt knelt down beside him, and laid down the white lilacs he had bought, placing them beside the half-fresh lilies Blaine had put there a few days prior.

"Forever in our hearts," he muttered, and Blaine huffed. He felt nervous for some reason, like this was an important meeting. As if his mother was actually meeting Kurt for the first time today.

"Yeah, I know, the most impersonal cliché, right?" he said and shook his head. "My dad wasn't very enthusiastic about the funeral, and chose the first stone Carole showed him. If it wasn't for Carole I don't know what would've become of anything, really."

"It's not impersonal," Kurt said softly, lacing his hands with Blaine's again.

Blaine glanced Kurt's way before facing the stone again, smiling hesitantly. "Well, hey mom," he said, feeling a bit awkward. It was the first time he had spoken to her with another person next to him. "Remember I told you I would bring Kurt next time?" Kurt chuckled and sat down comfortably on the ground. Blaine stood a bit baffled behind at Kurt's obvious ease.

"Hey Amanda," Kurt said very quietly, and Blaine almost felt like intruding when he carefully sat down beside him. Kurt very shortly gazed his way before directing his attention towards the stone again. "I'm Kurt. Hummel. I guess you've heard about me?" he bit his lip. "I, eh, I wish I could meet you. B has told me so much about you, so much I almost feel like I know you." At the absentminded way the nickname passed Kurt's lips, Blaine smiled slightly. "But since I can't and won't meet you, not really, anyway, B asked me to come here with him." The boy started to fiddle with the lilacs, seemingly unaware of Blaine's intense eyes on him. "I wish you could meet me. I wish I could get to hear your voice and recognize Blaine's in it, or see your eyes and instantly spot the golden flecks Blaine inherited. I wish I could actually tell you how much he means to me, and you'd look at me in that interrogating way mothers do, before approving of me. Or hating me, of course."

That made Blaine snort quietly and Kurt smiled slyly his way. The dark-haired boy shuffled closer, and pulled Kurt into his arms. He could sense his boyfriend smile as he placed his head against Blaine's, leaning into the embrace instinctively. "I told you so, mom," he said silently, squeezing Kurt affably. Kurt turned to look at him inquiringly, but Blaine didn't answer. He kissed his temple, and Kurt seemed to let it go after that.

"But I can't," he continued. "And I don't believe in heaven, but if I did, I would tell you that I'd do anything to make him happy and sated. I'll do everything."

See mom? I really am happy, he thought, and a part of him believed she could hear him. He kissed Kurt again, this time letting his lips linger. He makes me so insanely happy.

They went to see Elizabeth too that day, and this time the roles were reversed. Kurt seemed rather hesitant, while Blaine talked quietly. It was all so intimate. Blaine had never trusted anyone enough to bring them to his mom; not even his friends had visited the graveyard after the funeral.

"Thank you, B," Kurt said quite suddenly for the umpteenth time that past week. They were back at Blaine's house again. He sat against Blaine chest on the loveseat, and looked along in the magazine Blaine was holding up.

"You have to stop thanking me all the time, love," Blaine answered and sent him a teasing smile. "You know you don't have to."

Kurt just shrugged and nuzzled his face into Blaine's neck comfortably. "Yes but… I just feel like I can't thank you enough," he said and looked down to his bracelet that now contained multiple pendants. It was Thursday afternoon and the days had passed in a blur. Monday had taken place at Nick's house, simply hanging out with Jeff, David, Wes and Nick, playing video games and telling stories about New York. Blaine still felt warm when he thought about how Kurt had told him that the visit had reminded him of how much he had missed them. He loved the thought that his friends were just as much Kurt's as his by now.

Blaine had taken Kurt out to skate Tuesday, something the chestnut-colored haired boy had been… challenged by – in Kurt's own words he was terrible at it – all the while Blaine skated around him trained after many days spent there with his mother and father when he was little. Blaine had found him utterly adorable, though, and helped him the best he could. That night Blaine had given him a pendant with a tiny skate.

The day prier, Wednesday, they had been to a restaurant near Blaine's house, and afterwards went to the cinema, catching whatever movie they could. Like a real date, Blaine had said, since he always thought he and Kurt hadn't been on enough simple, normal dates. To that Blaine had bought a rose pendant, resembling the ones he had bought Kurt when they had been on the way to the movies.

Kurt hadn't known how to thank him, and once again claimed he couldn't show him just how much it meant to him. That night, though, Blaine thought Kurt had showed him all right.

"Hey you?" Kurt asked, startling Blaine, who had got lost in his thoughts. "Where did you go?"

Blaine shook his head and smiled widely at his boyfriend. He laid the magazine down and pulled him close, feeling a sense of whole, the feeling he only got with Kurt close. "Just thinking. You're beautiful right now, by the way."

Kurt chuckled and shook his head against his neck. "B, you can't even see me," he said.

"Well, you're always beautiful, so I don't need to," he just answered in his cheesy voice, knowing all too well Kurt secretly loved it when he got corny.

Kurt shook his head again, and Blaine just knew he rolled his eyes in that special Kurt-way. He chuckled and started rubbing up and down Kurt's arms absentmindedly. "Oh, before I forget," he exclaimed, making Kurt turn to him intrigued. "Your pendant!"

Kurt's eyebrows rose and he shook his head lightly. "B, you know you don't have to buy me a new one every time, right?"

"I know," Blaine shrugged and shuffled in his seat a bit, trying to find the little plastic bag in his pocket. Kurt readjusted as well, turning towards him, sitting on his knees, still on the dark-haired's lap.

Blaine retrieved the pendant with a triumphant "Aha", glad that it hadn't broken after Kurt sitting on it – he may, may not have forgotten a bit about it. "It's actually one of my favorites." Kurt just looked at him with a defeated smile in his eyes, soft as ever. Blaine just smiled quite satisfied with himself, and showed Kurt the little silver charm.

"For our moms," he said silently, and Kurt's eyes widened in fondness as he took the charm in his hand.

It was pretty, silver and the handle contained small diamonds – something told Blaine that Kurt didn't need to know whether they were real or not. It had two small plagues, the front with a pink rose, like the ones Blaine had laid at Elizabeth's grave. The plague behind it was simple, with three small words, reading 'First my mother' in delicate, italic writing – both plagues were heart shaped.

"Gosh, B," Kurt said, his voice thick with emotion. Blaine bit his lip as he looked at him, chuckling when he saw tears well up in his blue-green eyes. He took the pendant as, per routine by now, clicked it on the bracelet. Kurt sniffled and smiled wateringly before flinging himself at Blaine's neck. "Thank you so much. Again. Just… thank you."

"I'm just keeping my promise," Blaine said with a soft smile, squeezing his boyfriend affably.

"I love you," Kurt breathed, and Blaine felt the familiar flip in his stomach at the words. He pulled back and pressed his lips to Kurt's, gentle, but passionate.

"I love you, beautiful."

Kurt still smiled when he pulled back and rested against Blaine's chest again. His head nuzzled into his neck, fitting perfectly as always. Blaine sighed contently and tightened his arms around his boyfriend, making sure he was as comfortable as possible.

Then out of nowhere, a few moments later, "You are happy, right?"

Kurt raised his head from the crook of Blaine's neck. His eyes shone in a beautiful, sincere blue. "I'm happier than I've ever been, B," he said quietly, his eyes never wavering.

Blaine beamed at his words. "So I fulfilled all my promises," he said, more to himself than to Kurt. "I promised you I'd make you the happiest you've ever been."

Kurt chuckled and nodded. He kissed his lips very softly, just a fleeting peck. "Yeah, well what about you, Mr. 'my only mission on the earth is to make Kurt happy'?"

Blaine just smiled innocently. "I'm happy when you're happy, Kurtie," he said in an angelic-well-behaved voice.

"Answer my question, stupid."

Blaine chuckled and squeezed Kurt affably. "Of course I'm happy, love," he said and Kurt seemed satisfied with the answer, kissing his neck before nuzzling into it again.

"Mmmh, Blaine… g' 'way."

It was in the middle of the night. That was the only thing Kurt really cared about at that moment. Or, to be more exact, the only thing he cared about was how he wasn't asleep right now, since Blaine apparently found it awfully funny to wake him in the middle of the night. He rolled away from the soft lips against his skin – he was too tired to notice where on his body – and turned face-down into the pillow, his hands on top of his head, as if to shield anything that stopped him from sleeping.

"Kurt, love, wake up," he heard the gentle, sleepy voice say, and he felt himself get just a fraction less annoyed. He felt hands on his lower back, soothing and warm, and okay, how was it fair that Blaine's hands were so gentle and lovely on him when all he wanted was to sleep.

"God, Blaine, do you just not get the concept of sleeping?" Kurt grumbled into the pillow, his voice rough with sleep.

"Kuurt," the lovely voice said and he felt the familiar lips on the back of his neck. Those damn lips. "You're ruining my romantic moment, here, come on, let's sneak out."

"Sneak… B, are you for real, again?"

"Yes again!"

"This isn't Dalton, Blaine, it's not like it's sneaking out anyway," Kurt argued half-heartedly. Truth is, maybe he did kinda find Blaine's idea worth considering.

"You won't regret it, come on, beautiful."

Ah, those lips again! And then the stupid hands: roaming up and down his back, feeling absolutely wonderful against Kurt's bare skin.

"Ugh, fine," he heard himself growl, and he slowly turned around, facing his ridiculously cute boyfriend. He found him beaming at him, looking utterly endearing with his sleepy eyes, and his unruly curls, one big black mop on his head. Kurt rolled his eyes and slid his arms around Blaine's neck, pulling himself upwards a bit.

"So what did that brilliant brain of yours come up with this time, forcing me awake again?" he deadpanned and Blaine smiled innocently.

"We're going on a trip," he said exhilarated. "Now. A road trip, kinda. So come on, you can sleep in the car."

"You've got to be kidding me," Kurt just mumbled, but obliged and reluctantly sat up properly.

"C'mere," Blaine said and pulled him close. Kurt couldn't help but smile as he let his hand settle on Blaine's muscular, bare chest. Blaine smiled and tightened his hold around Kurt's naked torso as well, before leaning in and kissing him deeply. Kurt almost gasped at the sudden feverishness, and he felt his pulse quicken as he grabbed Blaine closer, moaning into the kiss lightly. When Blaine pulled back with a soft, popping sound, Kurt felt a lot more awake and suddenly a bit flustered. "To wake you up a bit," the boy said with a devilish grin, and pecked his lips once again before climbing off the bed.

"Yeah… it worked," Kurt murmured and stood from the bed, stretching and shaking the last bit of sleep off him.

The boys quickly got in their clothes, and when Kurt wanted to brush his teeth, he discovered that Blaine had packed two bags, for Kurt and himself. That made Kurt curious almost making him ask where they were going and how long, but the silly part in him wanted to be surprised.

"Do you just never sleep? Have you been faking it this entire time? Are you some kind of vampire?" Kurt asked incredulous, at his boyfriend's giddy, un-sleepy grin.

Blaine laughed and shrugged. "I've never needed that much sleep, I guess."

"Maybe that's why you're short," Kurt said teasingly, making Blaine slap his shoulder and pout. "Hey, do you hear me complaining?" That made Blaine smile carelessly again, and after throwing the bags into the car, he wrapped his arms around Kurt's middle. Kurt giggled and leaned into the touch. The night was quiet and only a little chilly, the moon and stars evident. Kurt turned his head so he could kiss the side of Blaine's mouth noisily. He figured he could at least try to ask, "So where to, shortie?"

"Kuurt."

"Blaine you do know you're the only one here that doesn't find your height adorable, right?" Kurt said, but Blaine still pouted. "So you're really just not going to tell me where we're going?" Blaine just kept pouting, and Kurt rolled his eyes. "Okay, fine, but if you turn out to be an axe murderer luring me into my death, I'll be very put out with you." That apparently broke the ice, and Blaine laughed loudly, squeezing Kurt before letting go, and getting in the car.

Kurt smiled triumphantly and got in beside him, already feeling sleep creep in on him again. He once again wondered how the hell Blaine managed to stay alive with that little sleep. "B, promise that if you feel the least bit sleepy, you'll find a parking lot, or pull over or something, right? I'd prefer it, if he stayed alive."

"Promise, love," Blaine said, and fiddled with the radio until Frank Sinatra's deep bass voice filled the car, soft enough for Kurt to fall asleep to, and rhythmic enough to keep Blaine awake. "Just go back to sleep, beautiful, we'll be there in… well, it'll be a long trip." Kurt looked curiously his way, but ended up shrugging and closing his eyes. He snatched one of the blankets Blaine had brought along and nuzzled into it, making himself comfortable in his seat. Within minutes he was fast asleep again.

When Kurt awoke, he was still in the car, the landscape flying past him in the window. It was bright outside by now, and Kurt wondered at what time they had left that night since they were still driving – he had been way too tired to check. Or maybe Blaine slept a little as well, like Kurt had advised him to? He looked over to his boyfriend, looking beautiful as ever with the sunlight illuminating his figure. Not for the first time he reminded Kurt of some kind of god. From this length and without his contacts – oh God, had Blaine remembered those? – he couldn't make out if Blaine looked tired. He hadn't noticed Kurt was awake.

"Babe, what time 's it?" Kurt said groggily, making Blaine's head snap in his way. When he saw Kurt he smiled widely, instantly making Kurt's knees weaken. That is, if he could feel his legs at all, which was not the case.

"Around seven thirty," Blaine said with a careless, breathtaking smile. "If you want a break there's a pull-in five minutes from here."

Kurt nodded, noticing that in fact his bladder reacted to that comment very instantly. "Please?" Then, "B, how long have we been driving?" Seven thirty sounded pretty late to him.

Blaine just shrugged. He still had that careless, excited aura around him, at the moment rendered visible in form of the bright sunlight. Kurt had truly lucked out when it came to his boyfriend. "Eh, seven hours I think?" he said uncertainly.

Kurt's eyes widened. "Seven? Blaine where the hell are we going?"

Blaine just smiled widely. "You'll see, love. We'll be driving for about two and a half hours more, though, I'll spoil that."

Kurt just shook his head incredulous. "Are you for real? That's like driving to New York- wait are we going to New York again? And did you even talk to our parents about this? Oh, and I really hope you've remembered my contacts, Blaine Anderson, and brought some decent clothes in that bag of yours-"

"Kurt," Blaine interrupted with a laugh, looking at him adoringly. "Relax, beautiful. No we are not going to New York, it's still a surprise, and yes of course I talked to Burt and my dad about it. Well my dad didn't know it was today, but I like the thought of us sneaking out. Brings a cool factor to it." Kurt just rolled his eyes and waited for Blaine to answer the last question. "Yes, of course I remembered your contacts. And your glasses," he gestured for the dashboard where Kurt's glasses lay. Kurt took them with a relieved sigh – he hated not being able to see properly. "And I thought all of your clothes were decent? I just took everything in your duffel bag and all your toiletries from the bathroom. You can borrow some of my clothes if you need to, anyway." He smiled at him and Kurt remembered how fond Blaine was of the glasses. "I love seeing you in my clothes anyway."

Kurt just rolled his eyes and sent him a teasing smile. "Fine," he conceded. "I'm not freaking out anymore. Gosh, B, you look exhausted!" he added when he looked at his boyfriend properly, finally being able to with his glasses. Blaine had black circles under his eyes, which looked redder than usual. He looked to Kurt and shrugged. Yep, he looked very tired. "Why the hell didn't you wake me, B?" Kurt asked incredulously.

"You looked so content," Blaine said with his cooing voice, making Kurt roll his eyes.

"Well you are not driving anymore from now on," Kurt said sternly when Blaine drove off the highway and into the lay-by. "I can drive."

"Eh, no you can't, my love, you don't know the way," Blaine said knowingly as they got out of the car and headed into the little restaurant/kiosk.

Kurt, who hadn't thought of that, sighed. "Well, then I'll use a GPS or something, B, you are not driving in that state."

"But that'll ruin the surprise," Blaine pouted. Kurt sighed and wrapped an arm around his boyfriend's waist.

"I think I've had enough of a surprise with this trip already," Kurt said.

"Fine," the other boy said. He slouched with tiredness, and Kurt thanked the universe that he had awoken and probably prevented a severe car crash. He nearly shuddered at old memories of car crashes involving Blaine. "You need anything? You're probably starving, we can buy some food or-"

"B?" Kurt interrupted. "I can do that. I'll just go the restrooms and buy something for us. You sit and relax before you collapse."

"Okay, I'm not that tired," Blaine said, but the wavering in his steps as he sat down at one of the tables told another story.

"Just sit and I'll be right back, honey," he said. "You need to go the bathroom?" Blaine shook his head weakly. Kurt nodded and went himself, finishing his business and getting back to Blaine as fast as possible before the boy fell asleep on the table. When he came back it looked like he was about to. Kurt rolled his eyes at his stupid boyfriend, bought a few pieces of fruit and some yoghurt, figuring it would pass as breakfast. He grabbed Blaine hand and walked back to the car, feeling Blaine get sleepier and sleepier beside him.

"You're so silly, B," he mumbled to himself as he opened the passenger seat for his boyfriend.

Blaine pouted. "Hey! This trip is supposed to be amazing, you will not ruin it," he said, but Kurt just shook his head amusedly and gave Blaine his phone to write in the address on the GPS.

"I'm sure it will be, honey," Kurt said and kissed his temple, since Blaine looked absolutely endearing, with heavy eyelids and a silly smile on his face.

The drive was interesting, especially considering he didn't know where he was in the world the first few minutes. That lasted until he looked at the GPS and saw that the address Blaine had written was placed in New Jersey, making Kurt wonder what the hell they were doing there. He really had the strangest boyfriend in all of the states.

The sun glowed brighter and brighter the later it got, and Kurt found himself enjoying the trip already; he really did love driving. Blaine was asleep beside him, snoring gently – and insanely adorably – and was wrapped up in the blankets Kurt had been tucked in previously. He was the cutest thing Kurt had ever seen. Outside, the landscape was beautiful, as he drove through Pennsylvania – a state that he, now that he thought about it, had never visited.

The destination was at the very outskirts of New Jersey, in the most southern part of something called Long Island. Kurt had never heard Blaine talk about it before.

When he reached the final destination, his eyes widened in awe. The area was quite secluded, something strangely typical for the Andersons, and to Kurt's exhilaration he spotted a delicious-looking beach nearby. The house he was parked in front of was big – not as big as the Anderson household – and it looked surprisingly cozy. It was extraordinary as usual, but outside the house, on a wonderful porch, was a wide hanging chair, like taken out of a cheesy, romantic movie from the sixties. Along with the sophisticated outdoor table and chairs it gave it an idyllic and calm appearance.

"Blaine?" Kurt said, still in awe of the beautiful place. The boy didn't react so he reached over and squeezed his hand. "Honey?" he said a bit louder.

Blaine blinked quickly and looked around, looking adorably baffled for a few seconds, before he seemed to realize where he was. "Oh, hey love," he said groggily, smiling a small smile. "You found it!"

"The GPS did, yep," Kurt nodded. "Care to tell me where the hell we are?"

"New Jersey, you saw that on the GPS, didn't ya?" Blaine said and yawned.

"No, I mean, I don't think I've ever heard you talk about a house in New Jersey," Kurt said and rolled his eyes. "Did James buy a new house?"

"Oh, no, this is Lucy's place, actually. She let me borrow it," Blaine said casually and made a gesture to move. "You have to see it, come on!" And then suddenly he was five years old again and not at all sleepy. The typical.

Kurt just shook his head and followed his dorky boyfriend, helping with the baggage.

Kurt instantly approved of the inside of the house. It was much cozier than what he was used to with the Andersons, very personal. There were pictures on the walls, and small trinkets and souvenirs; no doubt from all the places Lucy had traveled. It was rather big, but somehow it didn't seem very spectacular or showed off money, with the semi-expensive furniture and homey decoration. There was a kitchen-slash-living room, which took up most of the space on first floor, and it looked awfully romantic with a clear view to the garden outside and the sea in the background.

"This place is magic," Kurt said awestruck, as he looked around. "It looks like something taken out from a Disney movie."

He heard Blaine dump the luggage to the floor and felt his arms around his waist. "It's even prettier than Lucy described," he agreed.

"So what is the plan exactly, B?" Kurt asked and turned in his arms so he could look into his boyfriend's amber eyes. "How long will we stay here?"

Blaine shrugged. "Dunno. Lucy offered the place and said we could stay as long as we liked. My dad said he thought it was a good idea, and pretty much gave his content to stay until your appointment." At those words Kurt's expression faltered a little. "I brought your meds of course." Kurt nodded and smiled a weak smile. "Come on, no thinking about that now," Blaine said pointedly and kissed his cheek. "We'll take that when the time comes."

The cyan-eyed boy nodded softly. "So should we venture on in this house?" he asked and pecked his boyfriend's lips before slipping out of his grasp. He took his luggage and ascended the stairs, curious to see the rest of the house.

"I'm in love, B," he said the instant he entered the bedroom, looking around the room. It was spacious and modern, yet there was a vintage touch to it, with a brick wall and slightly darker wooden furniture. The wide window beside the bed brightened the room, which was perfect with the dark bed and furniture, and it still gave privacy, since the window faced the secluded garden as well, not making it possible for any by-passers to pry.

He turned to Blaine, who stood in the doorway, looking dashing as ever in his dark slacks and V-shaped tee. He had a wide smile on his face as he looked around, seemingly agreeing with Kurt.

"You sure Lucy said we could stay here as long as we wanted?" he asked in disbelief and inspected the room closer.

"Positive," Blaine nodded, grinning amused.

"Gosh, it's wonderful here," Kurt said and smiled exhilarated at Blaine. His looks softened when he saw the fond look in Blaine's eyes. "I can't believe you, B." He dumped his bag on the floor and sat on the bed. "Though I still don't get why the hell we had to leave at night?"

Blaine chuckled as he came closer, shrugging. "It wasn't the plan, but I woke up and thought that I wanted to go instantly. And like I said, it added a cool factor, plus a surprising element."

Kurt shook his head and fell back on the bed, closing his eyes at the incredibly soft madras and what seemed like Egyptian cotton sheets. "You're silly," he said. He smiled when he felt Blaine lay down beside him.

He opened his eyes and turned to look at his boyfriend, who lay on his side supported by his arm. "I can live with that," he just shrugged and Kurt smiled wider and placed his arms around him. Blaine yelped when he in a swift movement pushed him closer, so that he was lying on top of Kurt.

"I love you," Kurt said and removed a curl that had fallen onto Blaine's forehead.

"I love you, beautiful," Blaine answered softly, his eyes adoring as ever as he gazed down at him.

Kurt felt the familiar weakening in his body at his boyfriend's intense gaze and sweet words. "How is it that after all this time I still feel that sweep in my stomach when you say that?" he whispered. "How do you manage to still take my breath away when you kiss me, or make me blush with those damn puppy-eyes of yours or make me shiver when you touch me." He shook his head slightly, genuinely confused. "I still don't get it."

Blaine only chuckled and moved a bit closer his breath ghosting against Kurt's chin. "I ask the same thing every day, my love," he said and moved in to kiss him passionately, effectively – and naturally – stealing Kurt's breath again. Kurt hummed into it, and placed both his arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Blaine's hands were on his waist, and as if to emphasize what he had just said, Kurt felt goose bumps form where they touched his skin under his shirt.

"See?" he breathed when Blaine pulled back again. "Breathless."

Blaine kept smiling his eyes shy, and Kurt found him absolutely adorable. He reached up, and crashed their lips together, rolling them around so he was on top, taking control of the kiss. Blaine gasped silently when Kurt's hands sneaked up under his shirt, making Kurt smile devilishly against his lips. As always Blaine was a perfect mix of soft and muscular under his hands, with the small, yet visible hairs on his chest that Kurt had grown very fond of these past months. He pulled away when both needed air, but let the tip of his nose trace his boyfriend's jaw and neck. He felt the stubble there, already quite evident even though Blaine had shaved yesterday morning. After gaining his breath, he placed sweet, open-mouthed kisses along his skin, savoring the familiar taste of his boyfriend. "You always taste amazing, B," he whispered against his skin, and he felt Blaine shiver beneath his touch. "How is it that you always taste amazing?"

"Kurt," the boy practically whined, and Kurt looked up, seeing the wild eyebrows furrowed together and the plump lips parted in frustration. He had been too lost in his boyfriend's taste and smell to notice just how excited he had grown. Ups. He bit his lip, which he regretted afterwards since Blaine only turned more frantic under him, and peppered small innocent kisses everywhere in his face.

"I'm sorry sexy, but shouldn't we get a bit more acquainted with the house before we defile it?" he said teasingly, and pulled a bit more away. He traced his hairline softly, hoping to cool him down a little.

Blaine's breathing evened out a bit, though Kurt could still feel it wasn't quite enough, so he rolled off him. Blaine whined at the lost contact, and turned his head towards him. His chest was heaving sexily, and Kurt really had to stop looking at that before he got too turned on as well.

"You drive me crazy, you know that?" Blaine uttered. Kurt resisted the urge to bit his lip and smiled innocently instead.

"I don't know, is it just me that feels it'd be rather… weird to have sex on Lucy's bed?" he asked tentatively.

Blaine chuckled and turned to his side again, his hand resting on Kurt's waist. "Kurt, do I have to remind you about New York and the bed my father used to sleep in? 'Cause we 'defiled' that bed a lot on that trip, to repeat your choice of words."

Kurt's eyes widened in embarrassment, and placed his hand on his forehead. "Oh God, I didn't even think of that," he muttered.

Blaine's chuckle turned into laughter and he reached down to kiss Kurt's temple soothingly. "Love, I have told you on many occasions that they do not care. These sheets are new, she actually told me that, since she always sorta referrers to our sex life in this weird, creepy way." Kurt snorted. "Most of the time it sounds like she wants us to be sex addicts."

Kurt chuckled. "I'm torn between believing you and thinking you're only saying that because you're scared I'll ban sex," he said teasingly, making Blaine roll his eyes.

"Like you'd have the strength," he said and Kurt smiled knowingly before continuing.

"I don't know, still feels weird. But hey, let's look around the house some more come on. I'll probably get over it. And I promise we can continue what we started later." Blaine smiled widely at that and nodded, confirming once again just how much of a sex addict he indeed was. Kurt just chuckled and sat up, pulling his silly boyfriend with him.

New Jersey was amazing, at least in the summertime. The sun was bright and the beach was amazing, and big enough to easily find an empty, secluded spot. The two boys spent that day packing out and venturing out to see the area and buy groceries, and Kurt found himself completely in love with the place. It was quite an isolated place with few people, something that surprised them both – Blaine had thought there would be tourists and Kurt had seen plenty when he had driven by, but apparently they had been lucky with the place.

"So are you going to tell me your explanation as to why the hell we had to drive at night?" Kurt asked that evening when they were eating their homemade dinner. "And think about how you're gonna answer that question, B, 'cause if you really mean that it was just because you wanted to feel cool, I'll make sure to catch all the sleep I lost tonight, no funny business included."

Blaine looked sheepish as he answered. "Well," he said, looking all sorts of innocent. "Like I said, I woke up this night and I thought, "why wait?" you know? Why wait 'till the next morning when we could just get off now and have more time here in this magic place? Why wait when I could get you alone right then and there?" Kurt raised his eyebrows, at Blaine's obvious attempt to sound cheesy and innocent. "Was that good enough?"

"I guess you'll have to wait and see," Kurt just said with a smirk that made Blaine's eyes darken momentarily.

It was a beautiful evening that night. The boys sat in the master bedroom in front of the large window with the view over the garden and sea. The sky was a purplish blue color, and the stars were so bright and evident, illuminating the night along with the nearly full moon. They had moved the comfortable chair in the room closer to the window and lay snuggled close, Kurt's head tucked contently on Blaine's chest.

"Wait, you said that my father knows we're here, right?" Kurt asked out of the blue after a moment of comfortable silence.

"Of course he does, beautiful," Blaine said and pulled his arms closer around him. "I wouldn't leave without making sure Papa Burt was on board."

Kurt snorted and nodded. "Wise."

Blaine chuckled and kept gazing out the big window. "This reminds me of New York a bit; looking out at a beautiful, serene view with you in my arms." Kurt looked up at him and smiled. "Partly the reason I thought this was such a great idea, actually; I liked it so much in New York; to be with you, live with you. Alone."

Kurt smiled wider and nodded against his chest. "Yeah, I love it, too. I'm glad we get all this time together, B. Before everything." He knew Blaine's eyes were probably faltering at that moment, and he consciously didn't look up at him.

"Me too, love," he heard him whisper and Kurt closed his eyes briefly at the slight quivering in his boyfriend's voice.

The only thing he could do right then, though, was to nuzzle closer and lay a soothing hand on his chest, just above his heart. Blaine instinctively rubbed his arms at Kurt's act, pulling him impossibly closer.

That night Kurt didn't catch up on any sleep, to Blaine's great delight.

When Kurt woke that next morning, he was happy to discover that Blaine hadn't left the bed, yet, his arms still wound around his middle as the big spoon. He loved when Blaine stayed in bed with him. He turned in his arms, expecting to see the honey-colored eyes look back at him – always a tad brighter in the morning light – but he almost gasped when he saw that the boy was still asleep. Kurt tried to recall a time that had ever happened and failed. But there he was, looking all kinds of endearing and content, his hair a big mess of adorable curls, and breathing evenly through his slightly parted plump lips – Kurt could swear they still looked a bit kiss swollen from last night. He had pillow streaks on his cheek, and only half of his face was visible from the pillow.

For a moment Kurt just looked at him, fascinated. He suddenly understood why Blaine enjoyed watching him wake up. He looked so very beautiful, and he knew he overreacted slightly but there was something about seeing his boyfriend asleep for the first time in broad daylight that played with his emotions.

After lying there for some time, enjoying Blaine's strong arms around him, he got an idea. He kissed Blaine's wild curls, took a quick picture, simply because his boyfriend looked so insanely adorable, and got up. He quickly got a robe for his naked body, put on his glasses, and hurried down to the kitchen, starting breakfast in lightening speed. He had to get the chance to bring Blaine breakfast in bed, once and for all. He quickly searched the place for the needed ingredients, and smiled when he discovered Lucy had cardamom, his secret ingredient.

Thanks to his practiced skills in the kitchen he made the pancake dough on less than five minutes – circa – and he finished them in fifteen.

He moved on quickly, doing the coffee ready, before finding the fruit they had bought the previous day. He cut strawberries, raspberries and banana into a small bowl, Blaine's favorites. When he finished with the fruit, it fit perfectly with the coffee having brewed sufficiently.

He quickly poured the coffee – in two mugs – and placed it on the tray he had found, next to the stacked pancakes and fruit. Then he ran out, picked up a few nicely colored flowers, silently wondering if Lucy had someone to watch the garden, since it was so impeccable and filled with small flowers and trees that once again reminded Kurt of something out of a fairytale.

When all was set he smiled triumphantly; He had made it on less than half an hour. He walked upstairs and saw Blaine still fast asleep and clutching a pillow like it was Kurt. He chuckled a bit at the sight. Blaine looked utterly adorable, only taking up half of the bed, contrary to Kurt that would've lain sprawled all over it.

The blanket only covered his lower body, leaving his naked torso and the top of his delicious backside exposed. He nearly couldn't find it in his heart to wake him up, and weren't it for the hot coffee and pancakes he would probably have let the boy sleep.

He placed the tray on the nightstand, lost his robe and got into bed again. When he removed the pillow from Blaine's grasp, the boy hummed disapprovingly and Kurt shook his head in amusement; how could he be this adorable even in his sleep?

He moved in closer, wrapping him up in his arms and peppered kisses everywhere in his face, just like Blaine always did when he woke him up. Not to Kurt's surprise, Blaine was much better at being woken up than he was. Before he even opened his eyes, a lazy smile formed on his lips, and when he hid his face in the pillow it seemed more teasing than an act of reluctance – very much contrary to Kurt.

"Good morning sexy," Kurt whispered, smirking at his own new – very fitting – endearment for his boyfriend.

Blaine smiled, his eyes still closed and nuzzled into Kurt's chest contently. "Morning," he mumbled. "You woke up before I did today?"

"I did, indeed. I don't think I've ever experienced you sleeping after ten," Kurt said into his hair before kissing it.

"It's past ten? Wow, guess I'm tired from the drive," he mumbled, yawning adorably.

Kurt smiled and kissed his hair again. "Come on, honey, I made breakfast, you better get up."

Blaine cracked an eye open and looked up at him with an excited smile. "Pancakes?"

Kurt chuckled and nodded, and within the next two seconds Blaine was sitting beside him, eyeing the tray hungrily.

"Oh God, I still don't get how you're not some kind of super chef in some fancy restaurant," Blaine moaned as he ate his first pancake. "Your cooking is orgasmic."

"Orgasmic?" Kurt snorted, a fond smile on his lips as he sipped of his coffee. "Is that even a word?" Blaine just nodded solemnly and kept eating.

"You don't want any?" he asked after his third pancake.

"I'm just gonna steal some of your fruit and I'll be good," Kurt said and grimaced at the empty calories.

They ate in silence, apart from Blaine's constant moans and praise at Kurt's cooking – even after Kurt had reminded him that cutting fruit and making coffee didn't really count as cooking – with their legs tangled and Kurt's head resting on Blaine's shoulder comfortably. When the tray was empty, Kurt placed it on the nightstand again, and fell back into Blaine's arms instantly.

"Thank you, love," Blaine mumbled and hugged him tightly. "You're amazing. And you look absolutely beautiful this morning. You know how much I love the glasses."

"I'm amazing because I brought you breakfast in bed?" Kurt said with raised eyebrows. "Who was it that bought me a freaking ring and a bracelet with like thousand pendants to it? And you obviously haven't seen you sleep before, it's a whole new level of cute, honey."

Blaine squeezed him pointedly. "Hey, don't do that," he said and made Kurt look up at him with his hand under his chin. "You are amazing," he kissed him between his eyebrows softly, "and romantic," a kiss on his nose, "and breathtakingly beautiful," he pecked his lips and looked into his eyes. "And I love you. So thank you."

Kurt rolled his eyes shyly, and kissed Blaine briefly, but deeply. "You're welcome, B."

"Now what do you wanna do today?" Blaine asked complacently, drawing patterns into Kurt's side soothingly. It, as always, made Kurt's skin tingle, Blaine's hands so soft against his skin, so gentle.

He shrugged as an answer and untangled himself from Blaine grasp so he could straddle him instead, placing his hand on his upper chest and around his neck. "Dunno," he said seductively. "But I do know what I want to do now."

Blaine's smile widened and it was almost comical how fast his eyes could change from honey to dark amber, as he leaned in closer and met Kurt halfway in a feverish kiss. "Someone's, mh, changed their attitude and, mmh, got over their fright, huh?" he mumbled in between kisses.

Kurt smirked and threw his head backwards to give Blaine's lips better access on his neck. "I figured that- you know, if we- change the sheets- 't won't, mmh, hurt too much."

Blaine just hummed in agreement and rolled them so he was on top, his hands gently pushing them further down into the bed.
