A.N: SI IT HAS BEEN AGES SINCE I UPDATED, BUT AS I SAID IN A PREVIOUS AUTHORS NOTE, IT HAS BEEN REALLY HARD TO EVEN GET MY HANDS ON A CUMPUTER BECAUSE MINE IS DEAD. ANYWAYS, I TRIED MY BEST TO UPLOAD THIS!
CHAPTER 36
FLORENCE POV
I stand in front of the mirror, trying to zip up my jeans, lately, none of my clothes fit me, and most of my shirts are too tight. I usually try to use baggy shirts, not because I want to hide my small bump, but beacuse many people around think I'm a slut. I shouldn't care about their opinions, I never did, but this is different.
The whole pregnancy thing is already driving me crazy and I have six months more to go. My feet are swollen, I have an awful morning sickness and there are days in which I can't even smell food. But I guess it will all be worth it, I hope.
When I finally manage to in some way zip up my jeans, I grab my bag and leave the apartment. I have to meet Uriah in about five minutes so we can go to my doctor's appointment. We will probably find out the sex of the babies today, and I can't help but be as excited as ever. I walk down the long and empty halls of the apartment area, wishing I could skip the whole doctors stuff, doctors have always scared me a little.
I get to the pit and look around, Uriah said he would be waiting here, but he is nowhere to be seen. I grab my phone and write a message for him. "Hey, I'm waiting for you! Hurry up."
Seconds later I get a response. "Hey! I'm on my way back from candor, had to go pick up some papers. Why are you waiting for me? Are there any plans for today? Be there in about half an hour."
I scowl at my phone and throw it into my bag. I can't believe he forgot. How could he forget? I told him a week ago and he told me he couldn't wait. I guess he can wait. Tears fill my eyes and my view becomes blurry through them. Don't cry idiot, you don't need him. But I know I do.
I clench my teeth and keep walking, until I get to the infirmary. I walk towards the nurse's station. A grown woman with chubby cheeks and a warm smile seats behind the counter. "Hello dear, how can I help you?" she asks kindly. I swallow dryly before answering. "I have a doctors appointment, My name is Florence-" she cuts me off before I can continue. "Oh! Yes, I know, Dr. Walsh told me she would be arriving in some minutes, Please take a seat while you wait for her. She says she is sorry, but he daughter had a problem at school. She will be here in a while." she talks to me the way you talk to a child when he hurts himself, soothingly. I try not to think that its all because of the pity. She must be thinking I'm a poor little girl who is pregnant by accident and bla bla bla. For a minute, I'm angry, but why am I so insecure? Mybe she is just being nice.
"Thank you" I answer with a forced smile. I sit in a white fluffy cushion while I wait for my doctor. But I know I'm just waiing for Uriah, and I hope he walks in any minute telling me it was a joke, and he didn't forget about this.
TRIS POV
I'm standing in a room full of mirrors, it looks simlar to the one from the aptitude test. Jeanine Matthews stand in the center of the room, with her arms crossed. She studies me from head to toe as I walk towards her, pale judging eyes focusing on me. When I stand a few meters away from her, she smiles.
"Bearice, what a nice surprise." Her voice is cold and evil. "I have been waiting so long for this moment". Before I get a chance to answer, she takes a syringe from her pocket and injects a purpleish liquind in my neck. "This is what I should have done with you long ago" she says and I feel as my body crumbles to the floor.
I feel someone shaking me, and I open my eyes in alert. Im shivering and my eyes are full of tears. My head lies in Tobias' lap, and he looks at me with a worried expression. "Tris, are you okay? What happened?" he asks. I let ot a relief sigh. "Bad dream" I say as I cover my eyes with my hands. Tobias strokes my hair soothingly. "Its okay Tris, It was just a dream" he says as he slowly removes my hands from my face and kisses my forehead. I sit up and cuddle next to him, resting my head in his shoulder.
We left erudite about forty minutes ago and we are on our way to abnegation. I'm still worried about this whole going back to abnegation thing. Tobias has never been there since he transfered to dauntless, but I'm sure he is strong enough to go back to the scene of his terrible childhood.
About five minutes later, we arrive and the car parks next to the sidewalk, in front of the house we are staying in. Susan stands by the sidewalk, looking peaceful and calm like everyone in abnegation. We exit the car and she walks towards us. "Hello and welcome to abnegation. It's very nice to see you" she says with a warm smile. "This is the house you will be staying in, we added a few extra things you might need to continue with your regular lifestyle. Everything is arranged for you to have agood time. If you need something, my house is right next door" We both nod in ageement and she invites us to follow her into the house.
Once we have arranged our stuff, Susan leaves and we sit down in the small living room that reminds me so much of my old house, which is actually right across the street. It is a bit uncomfortable to know my parents are across the street, and I'm here with my husband. But I don't care.
"Lets go upstairs" I say as I stand up. Tobias just follows me, as I rapidly climb the stairs. I pull him into the main bedroom and close the door behind us. Before he can speak, I crush my mouth with his and he grab my waist as he pushes me gently against the wall.
Seconds later, our shirts lay in the floor, by our feet. We are still making out and about to move into the bed when Tobias pulls apart and frown at me. "Isn't it awkawrd for you to have sex across the street from your parents?" he asks wih a smile. "Nope" I asnwer as I pull him towards me. He just shrugs and we start kissing with passion again.
FLORENCE POV
My doctor walks into the infirmary in a hurry. When she sees me, she practically runs towards me. "I'm so sorry Florence! But I had a problem with my daughter. Please come in" she says as she guides me to her office, I follow her into the clean room that smells like bleach.
"Please lay down" she says as we enter. I obediently lay down in the stretcher and close my eyes. I want Uriah to be here with me.
"So, where's daddy?" asks Dr. Walsh as if reading my mind. She spreads a gel in my stomach and starts moving a strange object over it.
"He's um..." My voice is raspy and fragile "Busy" I add. She just nods, like she understands that I'm not happy without him here. The image of the babies projects in a computer to my right and Dr. Walsh scans the image, smiling.
In that exacts minute Uriah bursts into the room. It's obvous that he has been running, and he looks exhuasted. "Im sorry" he says as he jogs towards me. I smile and he kisses my forehead. "Im so sorry Florence. But I made it" he says smiling.
I look at him and bite my lip. "Sooo.." Dr. Walsh says, trying to obtain our attention. We both look at her immediatly.
"Congratulations to both of you, a boy and a girl are in their way!"
