School Life Chapter 36- Confused
Sorry it took so long to get the chapter up. My nephew kinda threw my computer off the table (he is one, so he didn't know better) and it was acting up, plus I got sidetracked. Anyway, I'll post the two chapters today to make up for it.
As always, I own nothing and please leave a review.
…
"Is dad back yet?" Natsu whined as he fidgeted in his seat.
"Not yet sweetheart. He still has five more hours before Laxus goes in," Lydia responded calmly.
"Ughh," Natsu moaned as he slid down in his chair further. "Imma go find Lisanna."
"Tell her I said hello," the white haired mage said as she flipped to the next page in her magazine.
...
"Do you wanna do something?" Natsu asked as he and Lisanna walked out of the girl's dorm.
"There isn't much to do if you wanna stay close to see your father when he gets back," the Take Over mage reasoned.
"That's true," the pink aired boy said dejectedly. "Why don't we just sit somewhere and talk?"
"Sit? Talk?" Lisanna asked, raising an eyebrow at the boy. "Who are you and what did you do with my boyfriend?"
Natsu laughed in agreement. "It isn't like me at all is it? I guess I'm still just tired."
"Well it sounds like a lovely idea," the silver haired girl said as she laced her fingers in between Natsu's. "So where shall we sit and talk?"
"Where ever is fine, it's nice out today."
"Then under the pear tree it is," Lisanna hummed.
"We have a pear tree?"
…
The two sat under the pear tree in a comfortable silence. Mainly because Natsu fell asleep. The couple had talked about various things, Lisanna's head resting on Natsu's shoulder and his head resting on hers, their fingers still intertwined. It wasn't till the girl had to wait for a few minutes for her boyfriend to reply did she notice that he was fallen asleep, a quiet snore starting up. "Sleep tight," the girl smiled before closing her eyes too, enjoying the sun shining on her face as it made its way through the tree leaves.
"Yo, lovebirds, rise and shine," Gray said as he gave Natsu's leg a kick.
The dragon slayer opened one eye and glared at the ice mage, a low growl coming from his throat, but he didn't move on the off chance he woke Lisanna.
"Don't growl at the messenger. Your dad is back," Gray said before turning and leaving, Juvia waiting a few feet away for him.
"Lis," Natsu said gently as he lifted his head off hers. "My dad is back."
The silver haired girl opened her eyes, blinking as the sun shone brighter than it did earlier. "That's great," she yawned.
…
"So how did it go?" Natsu asked as he eyed the massive tome Igneel held under his arm.
"Surprisingly well. Metalicana had stepped out to go hunting, Ivan had locked himself in his office, no doubt scheming something, and the mages were busy partying," the dragon responded.
"So that book, it contains the spell used on the farmers?" Laxus asked.
"Yes, and how to undo it. But Wendy is the only one capable of that. Also," the fire dragon continued, "I was able to destroy half of their base right before I left. The half with all of their supplies. Whether that will speed up or delay their next attack, is up in the air though."
"That' fine," Markarov answered. "You ready Wendy."
"The young girl nodded her head as Igneel handed her the book, open to the spell. She read the page and glanced at the bound farmer one last time before reciting the words. "Alnamia shezic quoteaz."
All eyes were on the farmer as his body started shaking, his eyes rolling to the back of his head. And then, nothing. His body stopped moving, his eyes rolled back to normal and a calm settled over the man. He was no longer agitated and restless.
"Who are you people? Where am I?" the man yelled as he struggled against his ropes.
"Calm down sir," Makarov said, getting off his chair and waking toward the man. "Untie him," he ordered and Caleb undid the ropes on the man's wrists. "You were being possessed by a Dark Guild named Raven Tail. You and many other farmers."
The man face scrunched up as he tried to remember.
"What's your name? Where are you from?" Lydia asked, her voice gentle.
The man went to reply, but stopped before uttering a sound, his brows furrowing in confusion. "I don't know."
"Do you remember anything?" Lisanna asked.
"Just that I picking strawberries and then regaining my senses here with you people," the man said, rubbing his swore wrists.
"Do you remember what day it was when you were harvesting the strawberries?" Lydia asked.
The man furrowed his brows gain, his nose wrinkling, "The seventeenth of July."
"It's the fourth of August now, sir. You've been gone almost a month," Levy exclaimed.
"Laxus," Makarov said, getting his grandson's attention. "Get on my computer and see if there was a missing persons report filed for this man. The English teacher nodded and went to the principal's desk. "In the meantime, let's go get you some food and drink."
"Thank you," the man replied politely, still a little confused about what was going on.
…
""Have you found anything yet?" Makarov said as he and the others returned from lunch to see Laxus on his phone.
"Your computer was so slow I had to switch to my phone," the blonde explained not missing the angry look his grandfather shot him.
"And yes. I found a website that seems to include every farmer that went missing. A news article too."
"What's the article say?" Natsu asked.
"Just that on the seventeenth of July, 139 farmers from the neighboring region disappeared. Witnesses say that they just went into a trance and left their homes and farms to suddenly disappear in a flash of light," the blonde said scrolling.
"Flash of light? So they used the Lacrima to abduct them," Lydia said. "By the way," she said turning toward her husband," where did you hide the Lacrima this time?"
"In the pub," Igneel responded.
"Hide the Lacrima?" Lucy asked.
"Every time we head in, we change the location of the Lacrima, stashing it in a safe place so that when we show up, they don't have us surrounded," Igneel explained.
"That makes sense," Levy said.
"Did the article say anything else?" Makarov asked.
"Yeah, that the search for these people found a 'small, marble-like object' in the place where the light appeared and the people disappeared," the blonde answered. "And it has all of the names and matching pictures of the farmers. Including you, Michael Wagner," the blonde finished, handing his phone to the man so he could see.
"Wendy, do you know any spells to treat amnesia?" Levy asked.
"I already tried both spells I know for amnesia on Mr. Michael. They didn't work, but I found out by doing those spells, that his memories were wiped."
"'Wiped'?" Lisanna asked.
"He doesn't have any memories of the time when he was with Raven Tail. The spell kept him from retaining any," the sophomore explained.
"What about his memories before becoming a zombie? Can't you give him those back?" Caleb asked.
The young girl started stroking her hair nervously. Being the center of attention wasn't her specialty. "I was able to jog them. But it would have been dangerous to have him remember a lifetime of memories all at once so I put a time limit on them. He will start remembering his past, starting with the most recent memories, one memory a minute."
"That's good," Lucy said.
"It seems like it will take a while for him to remember everything that way," Caleb questioned.
"The memories will start speeding up after so long, but only when his mind is capable of handling the flood of memories."
"When did you do all of this?" Igneel asked, impressed.
"While we were eating," the girl replied shyly.
"And no one noticed? Your mother would be very proud of you," Igneel smiled softly.
"Thank you," she nodded before going to stand behind Romeo, still embarassed.
"So, what now?" Natsu sked. "How are we going to free the other hundred thirty eight farmers?"
"I have an idea about that," Levy said, stepping forward.
…
Idk about the strawberries being in bloom that late. Im collecting them now from my garden so I don't think there would still be any by July, but I'm no expert. I have the next chapter typed and will upload it next, its part two, so be ready.
