Summary: The battle for Atlantia continues to rage on. What happened to Elsa? Will Anna be able to save the day at Fort Grimsby? Will Atlantia be free or will the nation be once again subject to a foreign ruler?
Anna turned and grabbed a fallen soldier's shield. Anna stood in front of the rapidly growing hole in the main gate. Anna felt a presence next to her and she saw that several men that once held bows and quivers now had swords and shields. Anna looked behind her and saw that the whole courtyard was now filled with men waiting to defend their home. Anna raised her sword above her head and all the men called out.
Anna looked towards the balcony where Melody was standing and she was staring at the gate. Melody looked down and Anna waved her sword up towards Melody. Anna wasn't sure if Melody saw her, but the gate gave a loud crunching noise and that small hole was large enough for a single man. No Weselton fighter came through the hole though, they must be waiting for the gates to fail completely so that the whole army could rush the fort. Anna's thoughts turned towards Elsa and Kristoff and happier times. The three of them together for a summer lunch in the gardens or the three of them planed the dinner menu for the wedding. Anna let her core shine brightly as the love she felt for those two caused her core to radiate light.
The gate gave one last crunch and it swung open. Weselton fighters came streaming towards Anna, who was standing at the point of the spear. Anna charged back towards the rushing attackers.
Kristoff sat at a small table in the captain's quarters on the Arendelle Galleon the Spirit of Anna. Kristoff had grown accustom to being at sea over the years of piracy that the people of Arendelle had to commit.
"Majesty we are coming up on the water way towards Atlantia and the men can hear the sounds of cannon fire," the Captain of the Spirit called through the door. Kristoff sealed the inkwell that he had been using and placed the quill in a sand trap to keep it still. Kristoff placed all those items in the locked cupboards of the desk that he was sitting at.
Kristoff stood and opened the door and the Captain was still standing outside. "Captain have everyone prepare for battle and signal the rest of the fleet," Kristoff said, and the Captain saluted and charged on to deck and started screaming orders. Kristoff counted to twenty before heading on to the deck. Kristoff walked up and stood next to the first mate as he steered the ship towards the water way that lead to Atlantia. Kristoff could hear the sounds of a battle happening just out of sight from their current position.
"Men," Kristoff yelled, "We have come to Atlantia to seek vengeance for all the lives that were stolen from us. Weselton hunted us down like animals, they stole our loved ones and they made us commit horrible acts to ensure our survival. We not only survived, but we struck fear into their hearts and once again the men from the north came to be feared as it had in ages past. Now we have our proof that Weselton killed the Princess Anna and did that stop the people from the north. NO!" Kristoff was making this up as he went, but the men screamed NO with Kristoff. "No Princess Anna fought her way out of the afterlife and came to bring justice to our people. Our people have survived and now we will have our VENGENCE!" Kristoff screamed out the last word and every man on the ship screamed out with him.
The shouts where so loud that even the men on the other ships started yelling VENGENCE! Kristoff turned to the Captain "Raise our flag and let the world know that Arendelle will no longer hide in the shadows." Kristoff had to smile as the Arendelle flag rose to the top of the mast and just below it was the black flag that they use to sail for raids.
The Spirit of Anna turned into the water way that lead to Atlantia at last and Kristoff saw that the Weselton fleet was firing at a large blue ice wall. Kristoff heart started racing "Get us in range immediately. The Frost Queen is in danger one of our people are in danger," Kristoff yelled out. Kristoff could only watch as the first rounds of Weselton fire struck the ice wall. The ice wall shattered sending chunks of ice everywhere. Kristoff couldn't see Elsa any ware as the ships seemed to be moving in slow motion. Kristoff then saw a small form rise out of the water on ice and another large ice wall rose out of the water.
The Weselton ships changed alignment and looked like they would be ready to fire right when the Captain yelled out "Prepare for a broadside attack." The ship turned and Kristoff never took his eyes off the blue ice that was defending the one person that could make Arendelle whole again. Kristoff watched in horror when another set of rounds shot from the Weselton ships. Finally after what felt like forever the ship turned and lined up to fire.
"FIRE!" Krisoff screamed, and every cannon on the Spirit Fired at once. Kristoff then heard cannon fire all around him as not only had the Spirit lined up to fire so had Elsa's Lance and the King's Hammer. Elsa's blue ice shattered as several rounds flew into it. Kristoff gritted his teeth and only stared at the ice as it disappeared from sight after the last bombardment.
Kristoff looked at the Weselton fleet and saw that the three Galleons had all suffered from multiple impacts from the cannon fire and appeared to be taking on water. Kristoff then looked back and saw that there were only a few Frigates left afloat and the Arendelle Frigates had them in their sights. Kristoff watched as a second bombardment flew into the Weselton fleet and was satisfied with the flying debris that resulted.
"Signal the other ships to ensure the Weselton fleet is completely destroyed. First mate sail towards that area where we last saw the blue ice," Kristoff said, it a little angrier then he intended, but the crew immediately started running around the ship. The ship turned and sailed towards where Elsa should be. Kristoff stared at the water as they past multiple debris fields and bodies in the water. Kristoff didn't pay any attention to any of them because they all wore the red of Weselton.
Finally after what seemed like forever Kristoff saw a small flash of blue. Kristoff focused on it and saw a small form in the water. It wasn't floating like another dead body, but treading water to stay afloat. Kristoff ran down from the helm onto the deck and grabbed a line that was tied to the main mast. Kristoff untied one side and launched himself overboard holding the line in his good hand. They were going to sail right past Elsa, but Kristoff was hanging just above the water right at Elsa's level.
Kristoff could see that Elsa's eyes were closed as if she was ready to accept her fate. Kristoff dropped his injured hand in the water and grabbed Elsa under the arms. Kristoff pulled Elsa up out of the water and her eyes shot open and the shock in her eye's made Kristoff smile.
"Kirstoff how?" was all Elsa could say as Kristoff held on tighter.
"Hold on," Kristoff said, as the crew started pulling them up. Kristoff just held on the last little bit as he hoisted them over the rail and pulled them both on board. Kristoff then gently set Elsa down on the deck and said "Miss Elsa of Arendelle welcome aboard the Spirit of Anna."
Elsa just stared into Kristoff's eyes and smiled at him. Kristoff couldn't help staring back into Elsa's eyes. Elsa's eyes were so much bluer then any Kristoff had ever seen before. Even Anna's eyes paled in comparison. Thinking of Anna jolted Kristoff out of thinking about Elsa's eyes.
"Captain what is the status of the other Weselton ships?" Kristoff called out.
"Majesty it appears that they have all sunken below the depths," the Captain replied.
"Good signal the rest of the fleet we move on to Fort Grimsby to continue to extract our vengeance on Weselton," Kristoff called out and everyone cheered.
Anna's initial charge pushed the Weselton attackers back out of the gate. Now Anna stood in the gate with defenders to her right and left holding off the attackers. As Anna danced from one opponent to another there was only one problem. The defenders fighting next to Anna were not professional soldiers, they were men that have had several months of training with swords and shields. Anna's defenders were quickly being cut down by the highly trained Weselton attackers. Anna had to start giving up ground or else be surrounded. Anna kept many enemies at bay as word must have traveled that the women in white was not to be underestimated.
Anna started to hear people yelling "Fall back to the keep." Anna slowly moved backward still keeping a many opponents at bay as possible. Anna gave a quick look over her shoulder and saw that she was at the large door that would separate the defenders from the attackers. The keep was in the middle of the fort and it divided the fort into two separate areas. Once those doors were sealed shut the defenders would once again be able to rain arrows down on the opponents.
"Close the door and seal it," Anna screamed, and was satisfied to hear the door slam closed and the large wooden beams slam down into place. Anna threw away her shield and pulled out a second sword from one of the fallen defenders. Anna crouched down in an attacking stance as there was no more retreat for her, but there was also no way she could be surrounded either. Anna smiled at the attackers and was satisfied when several of them took several steps back.
"Anna," Anna heard Melody scream out. Anna stole a quick glance up at the balcony and saw that a long rope was draped just behind her. Anna shrugged at the attackers as she grabbed the rope and Anna suddenly shot off the ground. Melody must have several people pulling the rope to lift her off the ground so quickly. Anna got up to the balcony and Melody grabbed Anna's hand and helped her over. "There are ships in the distance we are lost. The only thing we can do is flee and hope they don't find us," Melody was talking so fast that Anna couldn't get a word in.
Anna turned and looked towards the bay and saw that ships were in fact sailing up. The only thing was that Anna recognized the lead ship. "They aren't Weselton ships, that is the Spirit of Anna the Arendelle flag ship!" Anna screamed out. Kristoff did come and they are going to save the day. Anna watched as the Spirit turned and started launching volley after volley into the Weselton line. Then the second galleon that Anna knew was the Elsa's Lance started firing at the Weselton troops.
"The troops in the fort are still a problem," Melody said, as she looked over the balcony at the troops below.
"Look," Anna pointed at the Weselton battering ram. The battering ram was a pile of rubble and it was smoking. "The first volley must have hit it and destroyed it. The troops down there aren't going to be able to get through the gate without it," Anna looked down and saw that the troops must have come to the same conclusion and they all started running out of the fort and away. The entire attacking army was in chaos as the Arendelle fleet continued to rain volley after volley into them. "The attackers are fleeing why doesn't Kristoff stop shooting?" Anna asked, no one particular.
Anna was horrified as the entire land bridge was covered in bodies and gore. The ships didn't stop firing until the last Weselton troop had vanished over the horizon. Anna was the only one horrified at the brutality of Kristoff's assault as the Atlantian troops cheered and continued cheering as the ships started sailing past. Anna looked down as the Spirit of Anna sailed by and saw Elsa's blue gown standing at the helm next to several other men. Anna had to sigh in relief at seeing that Elsa was in fact safe. Elsa's last message caused Anna nothing, but worry as her voice sounded like she was going to die soon. Elsa appeared to be waving up at Anna and Anna returned the wave.
The ship halted a little ways past the land bridge and Anna saw that the anchor sank into the water. Anna then watched as a small row boat was hoisted over the side and the men started to lower it into the water. Anna turned and saw that Melody was also watching and looked over at Anna "Let's go down and meet them at the gate."
Anna and Melody swiftly made their way down to the rear gate. The gate opened and they walked out and looked towards the coast and they saw that the ship had just got to shore. Anna watched as a crewman helped Elsa out of the boat and the watched Kristoff jump out like he had done it a million times before. Several others got out and walked behind Kristoff and Elsa as they walked up to the rear gate.
As they got closer Anna couldn't wait any longer and jogged down and hugged both Elsa and Kristoff. "I'm so happy to see both of you," Anna called out.
"I'm glad you are ok," Elsa said, with a smile.
"Thank you for coming Kristoff. If it wasn't for you we would have lost this battle," Anna said.
"And you would have been minus one sister, Kristoff arrived just in time to rescue me," Elsa said, while looking up at Kristoff.
"I presume you are the Ice King?" Melody asked as she walked up to join the trio.
"No the Ice King of Arendelle was a made up name that we spread to spread fear into sailors, so that they would surrender without a fight," Kristoff answered. "Just call me Kristoff," Kristoff answered.
"Well I am Princess Melody of Atlantia and I have to thank you for coming to Atlantia in our hour of need," Melody said, formally.
"It was our pleasure to take vengeance on Weselton and I believe you should technically be calling yourself Queen Melody," Kristoff answered, just as formally. Anna turned and looked at Melody as the thought just crossed her mind. The rebellion was successful and Atlantia was free once more.
Anna looked over Melody's shoulder and saw that the walls of Fort Grimsby were full of men watching the exchange. They maybe could even hear the whole conversation. Anna's core shined bright as she smiled at Melody and yelled out "All Hail Queen Melody." Anna then curtsied very low to Melody and was thrilled to see that Elsa did the same. Kristoff gave Melody a small bow as was appropriate to greet another ruler of an allied nation.
The entire fort seemed to vibrate with the same words that Anna yelled out as everyman took up the call "All Hail Queen Melody." The phrase was repeated over and over again.
