Chapter 36
Okkkk so here's the deal, I have to go to DPA camp next week so I have to post this week, should have warned you last chapter but i forgot. This chapter is going to be a little short and crappy but i will try to load in as much stuff as possible ^_^ So let me start this ASAP!
Cole's P.O.V
I wasn't even paying attention to what was going on when Garmadon told us to follow him, or with this Marco kid, but when we walked over over to the medium sized hut something terrible happened...
"Marco?" Lily whispered. "MARCO!" As soon as she said that I had a sudden flashback.
"Dad? DAD! I screamed."
Suddenly when I looked at Lily I saw that she wasn't her, actually I saw the entire room change, it looked like my fathers house.
"Am...am i hallucinating?" I said to myself. When I looked at where Lily was I saw myself, on the floor next to my fathers lifeless body. I saw that I was screaming, but I didn't hear anything, but when i looked at myself I saw that i was myself, but how can there be two of me?
Suddenly a verge of tears just came to me for almost no reason and i put my hand up to my mouth as I watched myself yell for Zane. As I continued to yell it became clearer and clearer.
"Cole, COLE!" When I opened my eyes i saw that I was leaning against Zane, but wasn't i just in my fathers house?
"Are you feeling well?" Zane asked me.
"What? but i was just there..." I whispered, but then I touched my face and realized I was crying, but why was i crying?
"Do you need to sit down?" As soon as I completely opened my eyes i saw the hut door was open and I saw Lily was crying while she was holding the person in the bed's hand.
"I was just there..." I said again, ignoring Zane's questions. I think I know why I was hallucinating now...When Lily yelled for Marco it sounded just like me yelling for my dad, once i realized that I stopped leaning against Zane and looked closer inside the hut.
Jay, Lloyd, Kai, and Nya were all looking inside, curiously.
"Sensei Garmadon, who's Lola getting all worked up about?" asked Kai.
"Marco."
"POLO!" yelled Jay, as soon as he said that Nya smacked him across the head.
"Jay! This is not something to joke about!" yelled Nya.
"I'm sorry..."
"Ok anyways." said Garmadon. "Marco is Lola's brother, she is Marco's adoptive sister."
"What's wrong with him?" asked Kai.
"Well, he's really ill, and if he dies no one can take over the village."
"Wait a second, you mean that kid is in charge if the village?" said Lloyd. "He doesn't even look too much older than me!"
"Well, his father and mother died when he was very young, so he was the only one who could take over, and he the youngest chief that has ever been."
As soon as he said that, Mrs. Hodges came out and looked at all of us.
"Hello all of you." she said with a smile. "Mr. Garmadon, he was lucky, that is all i can say. And all of you may go see the chief, Marco." With that Mrs. Hodges left us all and we all walked inside.
Once I walked over to the bed I saw a young man, probably no older than 15, sleeping and breathing heavily, his face extremely red.
"Wow, he is really red." said Jay. After Jay said that none of us said nothing more but Garmadon walked over to him and placed his hand over his head. As soon as he did that I saw his eyes widen, but he didn't say anything.
Then i finally looked at Lily, I didn't notice until now but once we walked in I saw her constantly trying to hid her face away from us.
"Is he OK?" asked Lloyd.
"Well of course not Lloyd! HE IS RED!" yelled Kai.
"You two aren't helping here! He is dieing!" yelled Jay.
"CAN YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP!?" yelled Lily abruptly, surprising us all. "You guys aren't even helping, so why are you in here!? If anything your making it worse, so please go away!" When i looked at Lily i saw her eyes were red and she looked extremely tense, but I also noticed that all her bandages were off.
"Please, just go." she said as a tear slid down her face. With that everyone started to leave, one by one, but i decided not to leave yet.
When I was the last one i looked at her and saw that she was glaring at me.
"Lola." I said quietly. When I said that she gave me a even more deadly glare.
"I'm sorry." With that I left and closed the door behind me.
Nya's P.O.V
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" I yelled at all the boys when we got into the great hall. "ALL YOU DID WAS CONSTANTLY TALK ABOUT HER BROTHER DIEING!"
"HALF BROTHER NYA, HALF!" yelled Kai.
"NOT EVEN HALF!" yelled Jay.
"THEY ARE NOT EVEN RELATED!" yelled Lloyd.
"CAN WE ALL JUST STOP YELLING!?" yelled Cole.
"WHY ARE WE EVEN YELLING!?" yelled Kai.
"CAN WE STOP YELL-" started Jay.
"ENOUGH!" yelled Garmadon, interrupting Jay, making us all quiet. "Stop acting like you are children! I'm pretty sure all of you are mature enough to stop yelling!"
"Nya started it!" yelled Lloyd.
"I don't care who started it, I'm finishing it! Now, go back to your stations!" With that we all ran off to do our jobs that we have been assigned.
While I was at my other job my guide reassigned me to the re-building of Yuki village.
Cole's P.O.V
Right now I'm working with Zane to gather some food around the village to give to the chief to cook but I couldn't focus.
I really don't know what was going on with me hallucinating. After I had that vision of me and my dad I could not stop shaking, I couldn't even hold a basket without dropping it.
"Why am i remembering this now?" I said to myself. Zane seemed to notice that I was uneasy and walked over to me.
"Cole, are you alright? You don't seem like yourself." he said in a plain voice. For some reason my voice trembled and my throat was so tight I couldn't get any words out, so I just quickly shook my head.
It's kind of hard to describe the feeling I'm feeling that I feel at this moment. My body is unfamiliar with it. The best way i can describe the feeling is holding in tears. Your stomach hurts, and your throat is extremely tight, but when you try to breath you let out a bunch of tears, but you hold in your breath so all the tears don't fall out. That's how I feel right now.
"Cole, why are you crying?" Zane asked my as he looked at my face.
"Great, he's see your tears, no use and hiding it now. MAN UP!" I said to myself.
"You know Cole, if you keep breathing like that your going to faint." When he said that I busted out in tears and started shaking even worse, and i dropped the baskets that were in my hands.
"Cole, I need you to go to to the out entrance, sit on the log, and i will meet you there. I refuse for you to be a bad influence on these people, we have prove that we can stay here. We are role models, remember?"
With that he picked up the baskets I dropped and walked to the great hall while I left the village and sat on the log like Zane told me to, but all I did was sit there and cry.
"Why am I crying for no reason?! Stop crying!" I started screaming over and over in my head, as i clenched my shaking body.
About ten minutes later Zane met up with me and sat next to me.
"Cole, whats wrong? I never seen you cry like this before." said Zane as he touched my shoulder. I couldn't speak, I could barely breath at this moment.
"Cole, you need to calm down. Just breath, please." When he said that I tried to slow down my breathing but that only made it worse.
"Cole, I can use my elemental powers, would you like that?" Zane said in a calm voice, but when he said that I was confused, what did he mean by that?
"Remember about a week ago before we left Ninjago City and Lola was telling us about our elements? And when she said my element, past, present, future, it's been through all, it sees all. You remember when she said that right?"
"Y-y-yea..." I said very quietly, with great difficulty.
"Well I finally figured out what another one of my powers are besides telling others emotions, I can see people's past, their present, and their near future." As soon as he said that I was shocked, but I was still crying.
"I simply use my elemental powers to make a ice crystal ball and focus. I'm basically the same as Lily." When he said Lily's name he said it softer to make sure no one was around.
"I know why your sad, Cole, it's because when Lola started crying you had a flashback, am I right?" When Zane said that I was shocked and stopped breathing for a split second.
"I know you miss your dad, when my father died again I was just like you. Every single little detail of the day reminded me of him. But Cole, you have no time to mourn."
"You don't underst-t-tand..." I said threw all the sniffles.
"Cole, you don't understand. Most of the time I would be sensitive about these topics, but at times like this, we have too much stuff on our plate to be worrying about little personal stuff like this. So just get over it." Once he said that he stood up, but it was at that moment I noticed something was off about him, his eyes.
When I looked directly into his I saw that they weren't normal, they didn't even look human, which was strange...very strange.
"I'll give you ten minutes, if you're not working back in the village by then I will not hesitate to get Lola, and I'm 99.9 percent sure she will not be pleased." With that he left me alone...but I also noticed his posture was different, instead of strait formal posture, he was slouched, unusual for Zane...whats up with him?
Kai's P.O.V
I decided to quite from my cooking duties for two reasons, one, THE CHIEF IS CRAZY! He tried to cook me, then two. The kids beat me with a stick and threw rocks at me! So yea, I'm now doing entertainment duty with Jay.
Jay and I were just telling some children some jokes, but the something caught my eye.
When I looked over at Cole and Zane I saw that Cole suddenly dropped his baskets and starting crying uncontrollably.
"Jay I will be right back, I'm going to check out what is going on with Zane and Cole, ninja style." I told Jay.
"Can I come with?" asked Jay.
"Yea, let's go..."
"UNDERCOVER NINJA MODE!" With that we both started watching Cole walk out of the village while Zane took all the baskets into the great hall.
"Shall we take the trees?" asked Jay.
"Yes we shall." With that we walked over to the trees that were at the exit of the village, but we made sure that Cole couldn't see us. With that we started climbing and saw that Cole sat down on a log and continued to cry.
"Why is he crying so much?" whispered Jay.
"I don't know, maybe since he's always hanging out with Lily all the time he caught her craziness!" I whisper yelled at Jay.
"You know Kai, if I didn't know any better, I would say that you're jealous."
"JEALOUS!? Of what!? That Lily prefers to hang out with Cole more than any of us?! And she possibly doesn't trust me anymore?!"
"Uhh, yea."
"Well it's her fault for being a brat."
"It's your fault for choking her."
"Well it's your fault for not stopping me!"
"Cole said to burn her, but you put her in a volcano!"
"You could have stopped me from choking her!"
"Yea right, that's a position I would not to be in, I would be killed! You with your anger issues then Lily with her her anger issues, AND strength, I'm pretty sure both of you would have ripped my eyes out."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!"
"What happened to those anger management class coupons I gave you for your birthday last year? You burned them in a fire then punched me in the face and said you don't have anger issues."
"Cause I don't!"
"Sureeee, that's what your doctor said."
"The doctor said I was just emotionally challenged!"
"Yea, that's the smart people talk for ANGER ISSUES!"
"Well Lily is worse!"
"Nope, she is JUST as bad as you!"
"Shh, Zane's coming." With that we stopped talking all together and starting watching Cole and Zane talk, but we couldn't hear a word they were saying.
"Dang it, Kai we are too high up to hear them." said Jay.
"I think that is obvious, common sense Jay, please use it." I said back.
"Let's just go back to out post, whats the point of watching if we cant hear them?"
"True, true." With that we both jumped from tree to tree back to the village and went to out post to tell jokes.
Zane's P.O.V
For some reason every since I walked into this village I felt uneasy and strange, Kagami warned me about this feeling a while back.
(In case you guys forgot Kagami is Zane's guardian, if your have no clue who she is just reread chapter 27.)
She said if i have sudden urges to do anything unusual to completely keep myself away from Lily, she doesn't want me to turn.
The only thing is that she didn't tell me exactly what it is, just that you lose yourself to the animal inside.
Lately I've have been feeling strange, and it is not my sixth sense. Even Kagami says that Lily feels the same way I do. I feel my eyes constantly changing without my control, and I feel my stomach churn, making me feel sick. It's like my body is forcing itself to change into it's animal form, but I'm not in control.
"Zane...it's happening again, isn't it?" said Kagami in my mind.
"...yes ma'am, this is very strange, other times I was able to control the fox inside me, but now it's out of control, what s happening?"
"Zane, you're probably very stressed, that's why you can't control it. Almost any human we pass our powers down to usually can't control it. But you Zane, you're special, I can tell you can control it. You just need to focus, and relax."
"But when I was talking to Cole a while ago I couldn't control my words, I sounded rude, does it affect my personality too?"
"Sadly yes. And if I may ask, how much does your friend, Kai, know about the mega metamorphosis?"
"Not as much as I do, why do you ask?"
"I need you to talk to him about it. I'm sure you know, he is really hotheaded and has a bad habit of setting himself on fire, correct?"
"Yes."
"Well I don't think you or your friends don't know this. But every time he lights himself on fire he puts his body on strain and he uses a lot of his energy. Actually the reason his guardian choose him the bear as his animal is because of his anger issues. Thanks to his anger issues he can burn his fire a lot hotter and a lot brighter than any other fire elemental. BUT that puts a lot of strain on his body. Since he is constantly lighting himself on fire he is constantly putting strain which makes him closer to turning than all of you. If he keeps doing this one day he is just going to go KABOOOMMMM!"
"Um, Kagami, what does KABOOOMMMM mean?"
"Well, he could blow up."
"Wait, WHAT!?"
"Not literally Zane, chill."
"Oh thank goodness!"
"Like if he over uses his power he could kill himself. For example many fire elementals died by overusing their power, so you must tell him about this, as soon as possible!"
"Ok, I will explain all of this to him today!"
"Good, the sooner the better!"
"But definitely not around the village."
"Yeah, ok I'm going to stop talking to you for now, actually I might spreak to you tonight, see you Zane!"
Once she said that I snapped back into reality and checked the time with my shadow.
About 15 minutes passed by and Cole isn't back so i think I should go get Lily.
I walked over to the hut that her brother was in and knocked on it.
"Come in..." said a very tiny voice. With that I opened the door and saw Monica and Lily, Lily on the bed with her brother and Monica standing and watching.
"Oh, hello Zane." said Monica in a slightly cheerful voice, but I can tell that she was faking it. "What brings you here?"
"Um, Lola..." I said wearily, that was enough for Lily to lift up her head and look at me. "Cole needs to see you, it's urgent."
"Why doesn't he come here?" she asked in a small voice.
"He can't, please just come."
"Go on Lola, I will watch over Marco, and if he wakes up I will rush for you." said Monica as she urged Lily to go. With that Lily stood up from his bed and walked toward me, but I noticed she had no bandages on her legs or arms.
"Oh Lola, before you go let me wrap you up again, your bandages came off." said Monica.
"No I'm fine."
"Please Lola-"
"I SAID I'M FINE!" this time she screamed at the top of her lungs and I felt all the tension in the room.
"LOLA JUST PLEASE! I DON'T NEED YOU GETTING SICK TOO! MARCO IS ALREADY SICK!" When Monica yelled that it was too quiet, but then Lily walked over to Monica while she got a first aid kit for under the bed. Once she got the bandages she started to wrap up her arm and thigh.
"I'm sorry Lola..." whispered Monica, by now I noticed that Monica was in tears. "I just can't let you get sick too." Lily didn't respond. After Monica was done Lily walked over to Marco's bed and kissed his cheek.
"Don't wake up with out me, bro."
With that she walked by my side and we both left.
"You are a really good sister, Lola." I said.
"I try." Lily answered back, but I saw that she was holding back some tears.
"Stay strong for your brother, I would hate for him to wake up and see you like this."
"Ok.." With that we both walked out of the village, almost immediately she saw Cole and walked up to him, me keeping my distance.
I saw her sit down next to him and look at his face. I could tell she was talking but I couldn't tell what she was saying because I was too far.
"ZANE!" yelled suddenly Kagami in my head. Then all at once I felt my stomach churn and my eyes stared changing more rapidly, by now I felt like I was about to throw up, I quickly grasped my stomach and covered my mouth.
My first instinct was to run, as far as I could away from here, so I did. I quickly ran through the village, seconds later I was past the village, I don't think I ever ran this fast before.
Before I knew it I found myself at rocky cliffs and I was running down them, surprisingly I didn't trip and fall. By now I was only letting my instincts guide me.
Once I was at the bottom of the cliffs I found myself at a river, but by now I knew how close i was to turning and fell to my knees, clenching my head.
"DO SOMETHING ZANE, ANYTHING!" yelled Kagami. As soon as she said that I immediately encased myself in a orb of ice,completely stuck, I couldn't move, and this is probably the best way to stop the turning...
Lily's P.O.V
When i saw Cole crying I felt my stomach churn and my eyes change, but it didn't last very long.
"Cole, why are you crying?" I asked as I walked toward him. He completely ignored me as i sat next to him.
"Cole...?" I saw that he was shaking fiercely and his face was stained by tears.
"Cole, please talk to me, I have never seen you like this." He still didn't respond to me so I just leaned against him and let him be quiet.
After about ten minutes I finally decided to say something.
"Hey Cole. Is it bad to say that I cry everyday for the same reason? That makes me a weakling, and you have seen me cry for than three times, that makes me a weakling too. A true strong person would never allow anyone to ever see them cry, ever. But you guys see me cry almost all the time. But you, this is the first time I truly seen you cry, Cole. That makes you stronger." When I said that he stopped breathing and looked at me as if he was angry. That angry glance burrowed into my eyes and into my soul, making me terrified, if I had the strength I would have fell to my knees. But that is when he did the unexpected...
He quickly grabbed me into a bear hug...
As soon as he started hugging me he started shaking even more and started sobbing into my shoulder, but I just sat there in his arms, petrified.
"I hate it when i see you cry..." he said threw all his tears. "I hate it, so much. I just want everyone to be happy, but you're always sad! I hate it when you cry Lily, please...JUST STOP! Every time you cry it breaks me down, it makes me feel like a failure! Please just stop crying..."
After he said that he started saying please over and over as if it was the only word he ever knew, but those words shocked me.
"Does he really care about me that much?" I thought to myself. "Am i tearing him apart just by being weak?"
"Why do you care so much about me Cole? I'm a weakling." I asked him, by now I was close to tears.
"Because your part of the team." As soon as Cole said that I widened my eyes and started having flashbacks of Kai.
"Now what are you crying for you wimp? Stop crying, it makes you look ridiculous."
"Unless you toughen up, you are not part of this team, or ever will be, your useless, and most of all...you are a nobody to us."
All those words that Kai said a few hours ago kept ringing in my head over and over, and they broke down all my walls, again.
"No I'm not..." I said as I started to tremble. "I'm weak, just like Kai said, I am not part of your team and never will be..." By now my voice was starting to crack.
"Lola, that's not true-"
"Wimp, ridiculous, useless, nobody, every word he said is true!" By now my head was throbbing and I felt my eyes change several times.
"JUST STOP!" Cole yelled at me. "I hate it when your like this, you always get tripped up like this...just for one day, be the strong Lily that I saw when we first met you." When he said that I started thinking and i simply put my head on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry for all the things that I am..."
"Don't be sorry, don't say sorry, never say sorry, just make it better."
"Yes Cole, thanks."
"Lola, I'm sorry..."
"For what?"
"For crying like this."
"Why are you crying?" By now he let me out of his grasp and looked at me in the face.
"Do you remember when I told you about my dad?"
"Yes, why?"
"Well when you were crying for your brother I had a sudden flashback of me and my dad, when he died."
"I'm really sorry..."
"Nothing to be sorry about." With that we just sat there in silence as I leaned against his body.
After a while I felt my eyes turn back to normal and we both stopped crying.
"Hey Cole." I said to break the silence.
"Yea?"
"Remember a while ago when Monica threatened to feed Kai to our pet fish?"
"Yea, that was kind of weird..."
"Would you like to see our pet fish?"
"Wait, she was serious about the fish?!"
"Yup, we like to call him Bullet."
"YEAH! Let me see him!" With that we both stood up and led the way to where Monstrous is.
About ten minutes later we are at the lake where all the giant fish are at.
"This is the lake of the giant fish, its where all the giant fish live. AS you can see the lake connects with the river, the shallow water is marked by the big green rocks on the sides. Once you are past the red rock, your way too deep." I told Cole.
"Cool, but I don't see any fish." He said as he looked into the water.
"Well that's because you must play a song." With that I quickly rushed into the water and started counting the big rocks, once I was at the blue one I stopped and looked behind it and saw what I needed, my wooden flute. Once I got it I ran back to Cole.
Once I got back to Cole I looked at him.
"This is Bullet's song." With that I put the flute to my lips and started to play a fast up beat tune that my fish recognizes. (Just think of it as the inspector gadget theme on a flute)
Once I finished playing it I looked at the lake and waited. When I looked at Cole he looked at me as if I were crazy, but then after a moment or two I heard a familiar deep sound.
"I'M BACK BULLET!" I screamed. Then I grabbed Cole's hand and dragged him to the orange zone, right before the red zone. Suddenly it got quiet but then there was a rumbling sound.
A giant light blue and silver fish sprung out of the water and made the same tune with it's call. When my fish dove back into the water it made a huge splash, making me and Cole extremely wet.
"Wow..." is all Cole said with wide eyes and a open mouth. "A whale sized fish... I think I like this place."
"Well that's bullet, now just watch what I can do with him..."

Mekio: I have no clue what that it but LETS EAT CAKE

Me: Well sorry for the late and crappy chapter, but for me it was worth it for first place!
Nina: Let's interview some people!
Kai: Wait wat?
Me: OK KAI, how much do you like Lily?!
Kai: WAIT WHAT!?

Mekio: LIES!
Vamp: Killy is gonna happen.
Kai: FIRE AND WATER DON'T MIX!

Nina: SECOND QUESTION, HOW BAD DO YOU FEEL ABOUT ALMOST KILLING LILY?!
Kai: I feel no pity on her, she deserved what you got.
Me: LIES!
Vamp: OK, HOW ARE YOU HANDLING THIS WHOLE MEGA METAMORPHOSIS THING!?
Kai: Huh...
Nina: WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON LAUREN!?
Kai: Wait, who's Lauren?
Everyone: Ooops...0_0
Me: SCRAM!
*Everyone but Kai runs.*
Kai: DF did i just witness?!
Nina: OK EVERYONE, we need you to guess about Lily!
Mekio: Guess what about her?
Me: About why you guys think she is the way she is!
Sketchdex: Uhhhhhh ok
Vamp: EASY
Me: SO yea, in the reviews tell Nina and I why you think Lily is the way she is?
