Daughter of the Deadman II
Hey, all, you've given me your input about what I should do about this story. I think I am going to put the 2012-2013 stuff in here because I have never gone above 45 chapters in a story and I'd really like to do that with this. So, I'm going to do it. I need to learn not to set chapter limits on myself, so yeah. Besides, I like to start DoD III with the time skip. It'll be easier for me that way.
I've got to send a huge thanks to Randy's Viper Girl who helped me out with the chapter. Thanks girl, you're awesome! Thanks to: deadmanwalking55, tomwilliams1990, Cena's baby doll, kakashishot, and Vader23A for their reviews.
deadmanwalking55: thanks so much for your review. :)
Oh, and well, I'm at it. Randy's Viper Girl posted a sequel to her story Best Friends called Best Friends 2: The Love of a Viper, and she asked me to ask you guys to check it out.
Also, she and I did an interview with tomwilliams1990 for his YouTube show. The link to which will be in my profile, so check it out if you want to find out a bit more about me, what inspired me to write etc.
And just a warning, I know John Cena fans read my stuff, so I'm warning you beforehand that he's a complete ass in this chapter. Alright, see you at the bottom.
Chapter 36: A Slightly Bad Night
Two weeks later, things were going well. Kristy had decided that she wasn't ready to move in with Adam and although he had been mad at first, he had gotten over it quickly. He had decided to come and visit her on the road for a bit instead. Everyone liked having him around except Lea. For whatever reason, she was weary of him. Angel wondered if it was because she thought Kristy was going to get hurt by him.
It was nearly time for Survivor Series and Angel was set to face Kaitlyn for the Women's Title. Katlyn had come back quite quickly after being beaten to a pulp by Jen and her little gang as had AJ and the others. They had been happy to see that Angel had taken Jennifer out. In fact, no one had seen her since the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View and while Angel had seen Kel and Cher around, they were steering clear of her, Sara, and Kristy. Everyone was in the locker room. Lea was playing with Wyatt. Angel was changing her clothes.
Everyone was looking forward to the show that night. With Survivor Series coming up, the shows had been really busy lately. Even without Jen and her cronies around, things were still eventful. The show started with Sara Orton taking on Kristy. The match was hard fought and intense, but all it took was a well timed RKO from Sara for her to pull out the win. Both of them were on their way to the Diva's Title and it was all a matter of who got to it first. At the end of the match, Sara helped Kristy up and they shook hands and left the ring together.
When they came back to the locker room, Wyatt stopped what he was doing and crawled over to his Mom. He clapped his hands. Kristy laughed and picked him up. Lea got up and gave Sara and Kristy hugs. Bret and Owen stood up and headed for the ring. Angel smiled. It had been a long time since she had seen the two of them in the same ring. When they walked out to the ring, the crowd exploded. Taker and the others smiled.
"Owen and I came out here tonight because we wanted to say that it's been a very long time since we were in action." Bret said.
"The last time you saw us out here was when our niece Kristy came out here to vacate her Diva's Title because of her pregnancy. Well, as you just saw not too long ago, Kristy is back full force and going for the title that she was forced to let go of." Owen said.
"Now, I'm sure you all know that it was the hardest night of our niece's life. And frankly, it was a hard night for Owen, Davey, and I as well. It's hard when you have to watch a family member give up something that they've worked so hard to earn. That being said, Champion or not, Kristy is still our niece and Wyatt, her baby boy, is a great nephew. We're very proud of the young woman that she has become." Bret said.
"Not to mention we are very proud of the mother she has become as well. She is a great mother to Wyatt and despite the hard time she had just after he was born, she's stayed strong throughout the whole thing and-" Owen started.
He was cut off when John Cena's music hit. Angel rolled her eyes. Everyone became suddenly alert. David had a feeling that this was not going to be good for any of them. Kane was the one who voiced what everyone was thinking at the moment.
"I should have known things were going too well." he said.
"How much do you want to bet that things are about to go to hell?" Angel asked.
"I don't. I'd lose that bet." David said.
Angel laughed. They turned their attention back to the monitor. John was in the ring with a microphone in hand. They were sure that he was laughing about what Owen and Bret had just said about Kristy.
"You know, it's really funny. Two well respected WWE Legends like yourselves, coming out here boasting about someone like Kristy." John said.
"What are you talking about, John? What do you mean someone like Kristy?" Owen asked.
"I mean someone who basically runs after any man in the locker room who gives her so much as a smile." John said.
Back in the locker room, the reaction was instant. Angel stood up so fast that the sketchbook she'd been drawing in slid down to the floor. Kristy pulled out her hearing aids and set them on the table, tears rolling down her face. Angel headed for the curtain with Taker at her heels. She wasn't sure if her Dad was trying to stop her or not and she really didn't care if he was going to try to. Sure enough, he put a hand on her shoulder.
"Baby girl, calm down." Taker said.
"I won't go out there unless I have to." Angel said.
Taker nodded. Out in the ring, Bret and Owen were both fuming. They were staring at John like he was a complete stranger and they had never seen him before. They knew that he wasn't the man that Kristy had fallen in love with, that was for sure.
"You...how dare you?!" Owen said.
"John, how could you? You loved Kristy more then anything at one time, but now I don't even know who you are." Bret said.
"You know full well what happened. That no good, lousy, slime ball Barrett raped Kristy! You know that, so what gives you the right to stand here and say that Kristy goes after every guy in the locker room that even so much as smiles at her? You're more of an idiot then I thought, Cena." Owen said.
"She certainly moved on from me to Edge pretty fast. Hell, for all I know, she could have been cheating on me with him the whole time. Not to mention, she's not that great of a kisser." John said.
"Cena, if you don't shut up, you won't make it to Survivor Series. Not that I want to deprive CM Punk of the chance to win the WWE Title, but I will kick your ass and put you in the Sharpshooter until your damn legs are broken!" Owen snapped.
"You know, John, I used to think that you were one of the best young guys in the back. I used to think that you respect the guys you work with and the ones that came before you, but right at the moment, I'm starting to doubt weather you respect anyone." Bret said.
"Whatever you wanna think, Hitman. Bottom line is, Kristy isn't the great person that you two think she is. And please don't even get me started on Angel." John said.
"John, I suggest you leave Angel out of this." Owen snapped.
"Oh, come on, everyone knows that Angel is just Kristy's little puppy. I mean, she can't do anything without her. Not to mention the fact that she is one of the most nosey people I have ever met and then she comes out here and wastes valuable airtime wrestling so that she doesn't have to spend all her time feeling bad for herself." John said.
Just as Bret was about to say something in response to what John had said about his God Daughter, the lights went out and the Bells and Thunder theme played. Angel headed to the ring, microphone in hand, looking more angry then anyone had ever seen. She stepped through the ropes. John didn't look worried at all. Bret and Owen stepped back and decided to just let her speak.
"You know, Cena, it's really funny that you can stand there and talk about my best friend the way you just did because if I remember right I was the one who helped you to get her back the first time you fucked up, but bringing me into this is a whole different thing. You didn't seem to mind my being so "nosey" when I bailed your sorry ass out with that whole AJ scandal. I was the one who convinced everyone that the videos and messages were fake, but I'm beginning to wonder. Maybe I was wrong..." Angel said.
"You know, I find it funny that you can stand here and talk to me like that, little girl. I know for a fact that you want to hit me and beat me up for insulting you, but you can't because you don't have the guts." John said.
"My guts—or lack there of—have nothing to do with it. Rule books say I can't hit you and I am not willing to risk my job for your no good, lousy, two faced, two timing ass." Angel snapped.
"And we both know that you two aren't going to do anything." John said.
"Are you sure you want to test that theory?" Owen snapped.
"Hang on, Owen. There is someone backstage right now who is more then willing to do what I ask and the only reason I'm even asking him this time around is because I can't fight for myself. You're not worth risking my job for." Angel said.
Just then, the lights went out and Undertaker's music hit for the second time. Bret and Owen started laughing as the look on John's face changed from confident to outright fear. Taker made his way to the ring and brought the lights back up. He stepped through the ropes. Angel was trying so hard to not break character and laugh.
"What's wrong, Cena?" Angel asked.
"A little scared are we, John?" Owen asked.
"Funny how Taker comes out and suddenly he smartens up and shuts his mouth." Bret said.
Angel smirked and handed her father the microphone. She was looking forward to hearing Cena get blasted verbally by the Deadman. Angel had always loved the fact that he never yelled, screamed or ranted when doing a promo. He just said what he had to say and was done with it, granted his Texas accent came through the more mad he got. Taker looked at Bret and Owen who nodded, wanting to hear what he had to say.
"Cena, from the moment you stepped into my yard, I thought you'd be a good guy, but I was wrong." Taker said.
"What are you doing out here, old man? Go back to the locker room." John said.
"Cena, when you walk out here and insult my baby girl and my God daughter on live TV, it gives me the right to come out here. And since she doesn't want to risk her job, I'm going to act on the Dead Girl's behalf." Taker said.
He reached out and grabbed John by the throat. He held him up in the air for awhile before finally choke slamming him down to the mat. Angel grabbed the microphone and knelt down.
"Now, maybe you'll learn to shut your mouth when it'll only bring you trouble, Cena." Angel said.
"And if you don't, I'll be more then happy to teach you." Taker growled.
Both of them dropped their microphones on top of John and then Bret, Owen, Taker, and Angel left the ring and headed to the back. When they got back to the locker room, Kane was pacing back and forth. David was hugging his sister. Lea looked scared and worried and Adam and the rest were trying to calm down a screaming Wyatt. Angel walked over and picked him up.
"Hey, Little Man. What's wrong?" Angel asked.
"Mommy." Wyatt answered.
"Oh. Your Mommy's going to be alright, Little Man. She's just upset." Angel said.
"Rissy no talk." Lea said.
"She hasn't spoken a word since that loser got in the ring. She won't put her hearing aids back in either." Adam said.
"Oh, so that's what's bothering you, Little Man? Mommy's not answering you." Angel said.
"An help Mommy." Wyatt said.
"I'll give it a try." Angel said.
She handed Wyatt to Davey and walked over. She knelt down in front of Kristy. Kristy looked up. She was still crying. Angel sighed. It looked like Wyatt was starting to be able to see that his Mom was different, even if he didn't know how.
Hey, you've got a son here who's screaming at the top of his lungs because Mommy won't talk to him. Angel signed.
"S...S...Sorry...baby..." Kristy stuttered.
Krissy, we have to do something. Wyatt's starting to realize that you're different. He doesn't know why exactly, but he knows something is going on. Angel signed.
We'll have to tell him. Kristy signed.
I'll do it. Angel signed.
Thanks, Ang. Kristy signed.
"Wyatt, Little Man...this might be hard to understand, but your Mommy is a bit different." Angel said.
"Mommy..." Wyatt said, looking worried.
"She can't hear you without her hearing aids, Little Man. She's deaf." Angel said.
"That?" Wyatt asked.
"It means her ears don't work like mine or Papa Taker's or Papa Davey's." Angel said.
"Mommy broke?" Wyatt asked.
"Just a little. See those little things on the table?" Bret asked him.
Wyatt looked down and spotted his Mom's hearing aids lying there. For some reason, he had no desire to do what he usually did, which was reach out and pick them up off the table. He just stared at them for awhile before looking at Angel with a worried look.
"It's OK. But Mommy has to have those in her ears otherwise she can't hear us." Angel said.
"I break Mommy!" Wyatt said, bursting into tears.
"No. No, Little Man. You didn't break Mommy. No. The bad man hurt Mommy's feelings." Davey said.
"Davey, I don't think that's what he means." Adam said.
"I break Mommy ears!" Wyatt cried.
"Oh. Wyatt, no. No. Don't think that." Angel said.
"Mommy ears broke." Wyatt cried.
"Wyatt, listen to me. You didn't do anything to Mommy. Sadly, Mommy's had broken ears since she was very very little." Angel said.
"I...not hurt Mommy?" Wyatt asked.
"No, Little Man, you didn't. Mommy got very sick when she was very little and that's how her ears broke." Angel said.
"Mommy..." Wyatt said.
David signed to Kristy telling her to look up. She looked up to see Wyatt reaching his arms out to her. Kristy took him and Wyatt wrapped his arms around Kristy's neck. He still looked very upset.
"Yes baby?" Kristy asked.
"I sad." Wyatt said as Angel signed it for her.
"Why Wyatt?" Kristy asked, putting her hearing aids back in.
"Because Mommy ears broken." Wyatt said.
"Hey, listen to me. There's nothing for you to be sad about, OK? Mommy still loves you very much. You're my baby boy and I love you no matter what." Kristy said.
"Tay, Mommy. Love you." Wyatt said.
"See At? It tay. And your Mommy tay too." Lea said.
"An?" Wyatt asked.
"What is it, Little Man?" Angel asked.
"You hurt?" Wyatt asked.
"No. I'm not hurt. Why would you think that?" Angel asked.
"Mean man." Wyatt said.
"What mean man?" Angel asked slowly.
"TV." Wyatt said.
"He means Cena." Davey said.
"OK. That wasn't who I thought he meant at first. No, Wyatt, I'm not hurt. He didn't hurt me." Angel said.
"Not with his hands anyway." Taker said.
"He hurt Angel feeling." Lea said.
"A little bit." Angel said.
"Sometimes I wish I could fight that guy." Adam said.
"Daddy not fight?" Wyatt asked.
"He can't, Little Man. He hurt his neck really bad and if he fights he could get really badly hurt and not be able to walk anymore." Kristy said.
"Hang on...did he just call Adam Daddy?" Taker asked.
"Yeah, he did. We'd better hope Cena doesn't ever hear that. He'll kill someone." Angel said.
"If he so much as lays a hand on Adam and I'll kill him myself. And believe me, I know his weakness." Kristy said.
Everyone nodded. Angel got up and left the locker room. She just needed a walk. For some reason, what John said had really gotten to her. Even though she knew it wasn't true, it still hurt anyway.
"An!" Wyatt said as the door closed.
"He really got to her. She knows it's not true, but it still hurt when he said she wrestles so she doesn't have to feel bad for herself all the time." Taker said.
"Watch Wyatt. I have to take care of something. And don't tell Ang. This is between me and that...can we cover their ears?" Kristy asked, pointing at Lea and Wyatt.
"OK, you two, put your hands over your ears." Taker said.
"Tay." Lea and Wyatt said at the same time, covering their ears.
"OK, Kristy what are you going to do?" Davey asked.
"This is between me and that no good, lousy, son of a bitch who has fucking lost his God Damn mind. He thinks he can go out there and talk about my best friend and I that way? And so help me if that fucking bastard tries to make up with me, get ready to pay a fine, Daddy. Because I'm likely to get a big one." Kristy said.
Davey nodded. Kristy left the locker room. She went looking all over the arena for John. Eventually, she found him standing in the hallway talking on the phone. She waited until he had hung up before walking up to him. She tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around. When he saw Kristy, he seemed surprised, but not worried.
"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!" she shouted.
"I knew I'd be seeing you." John said.
"YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT SEEING ME?! I LOVED YOU, CENA! I LOVED YOU DAMN IT! I SPENT THE LAST SEVEN YEARS OF MY LIFE IN LOVE WITH YOU! I WANTED TO BE WITH YOU, BUT YOU FUCKING SCREWED IT UP! THEN WHEN I TOOK YOU BACK, YOU FUCKED IT UP AGAIN! NOT TO MENTION THE WAY THAT YOU TREATED ME WHEN I WAS PREGNANT! BUT THIS TAKES THE CAKE, JOHN! WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED TO YOU? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUY I LOVED? HAS THE MONEY BECOME ALL YOU THINK ABOUT? IF IT IS, THEN I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I BOTHERED!" Kristy shouted.
"What's wrong? Mad because I told the truth?" John asked.
"THE TRUTH? YOU FUCKING LIED TO THE WORLD JOHN! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT? I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME! I MEAN YOU WANTED TO MARRY ME AND YOU WANTED TO BE A FATHER TO MY SON! BUT IT WAS ALL A LIE SO THAT YOU COULD BE GOOD TO THE BOSS?!" Kristy yelled.
"Look, people change OK? I did love you at one time...but things change. Now, if you're done, I have somewhere to be." John said.
"NO, I'M NOT DONE! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ANGEL?! SHE THOUGHT OF YOU AS A BIG BROTHER AND YOU TURN AROUND AND DO THIS?! SHE'S BEEN HURT ENOUGH IN HER LIFE, DON'T YOU THINK?!" Kristy yelled.
"Boy, you've really gotten yourself a back bone now, haven't you?" John asked.
"DAMN STRAIGHT I DO! YES, I'VE CHANGED A LOT, BUT GOD DAMN IT, JOHN I STILL CARED ABOUT YOU AS A FRIEND! BUT I DON'T EVEN WANT YOU AS THAT ANYMORE, SO GO AHEAD AND FIND YOUR GIRLFRIEND OR WHOEVER IT IS YOU'RE FUCKING AT THE MOMENT. BUT I'M GOING TO WARN YOU, IF YOU EVER SAY A WORD ABOUT ANGEL OR ME AGAIN, I WILL FIND YOU AND BELIEVE ME, NEXT TIME IT WON'T BE SCREAMING AND CURSING! I'LL MEET YOU IN THE RING AND BELIEVE ME, UNLIKE ANGEL, I'M NOT AFRAID TO RISK MY JOB TO HURT YOU!" Kristy yelled.
"Just out of curiosity, how is your little pet? Oh, I mean friend. Sorry." John said.
"GOD, WHY DID I EVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU?!" Kristy yelled.
"Because you thought I was a sweet guy, but I will say that you are a sweet girl, Kristy." John said.
"DON'T EVEN! FOR YOUR INFORMATION, ANGEL WANDERED OFF SOMEWHERE AND NO ONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE SHE IS! YOU HURT HER TONIGHT, CENA!" Kristy yelled.
"I didn't mean to. I just..." John started.
"DON'T YOU JUST ANYTHING! ANGEL IS GONE AND IF SHE GETS HURT, EVERYONE IS COMING AFTER YOU!" Kristy shouted.
"Kristy...I didn't mean to make her upset..." John said.
"SAVE IT, CENA!" Kristy yelled.
She turned and walked away, leaving John standing there. When she got back to the locker room, everyone was nervous. Apparently they had gone looking for Angel and she wasn't anywhere in the arena. Kristy sighed. That meant that she could have gone anywhere.
"Stupid Cena..." she snapped.
"Maybe she's at the pool at the hotel. We found her there once." Kane said.
"I'll go. I could use a swim after what happened." Kristy said.
She left, taking Wyatt and Lea with her too. When she got back to the hotel, she got everyone changed and they went down to the pool. There was no sign of Angel anywhere. After Kristy went swimming for awhile, she headed upstairs. Everyone was back at the hotel, but Angel still wasn't there. Lea started to cry. Wyatt looked worried again.
"An gone. She not like us?" Wyatt asked.
"No, Wyatt. Angel is just upset. I'll be back. I think I have an idea of where she might be. I think she's visiting an old friend." Kristy said.
"An old friend? Kristy, what are you talking about?" Taker asked.
"When Angel and I were fifteen we had this friend of ours who was killed in an accident. He was buried here. It's been a long time since we've been to his grave, but she might be there." Kristy said.
"Fine, but when you get back here, you're telling me the whole story." Taker said.
"Deal. I'll be back soon." Kristy said.
She left. Wyatt started crying. Lea had been crying and clinging to Taker ever since they had gotten back to the hotel. Everyone else was worried and nervous. It was over an hour later when Kristy walked back into the room. Behind her, came Angel. As soon as she saw Taker, she hung her head. Taker just walked over and gave her a hug. Lea and Wyatt joined in too. Kane walked over and hugged her too and so did David. Everyone else sighed in relief.
"Angel, please don't do that again, baby girl. I was so worried..." Taker said.
"Little Angel, thank goodness you're alright." Kane said.
"Angel bad! Not go way gain!" Lea said.
"An scare us!" Wyatt said.
"Sweetheart...please don't do that anymore." David said.
"I'm sorry...I just needed to clear my head. I went to see an old friend..." Angel said.
"Speaking of that, what's the story?" Taker asked.
"His name was Alex. The three of us were pretty close too. He moved to Calgary in the eighth grade. He knew everything about us. He knew all about Angel's past and who my family was and everything. He was the closest friend that either of us had. Then one day after school, he was supposed to come over to Uncle Bret's place to study for a math test with Ang and I. We waited until it was really late and then finally we phoned his place. That was when his mother told us he'd been killed in a drive by. He was buried here because it was where he was born and lived until the eighth grade. Ang and I didn't even get a proper goodbye in because after he was buried his parents took off." Kristy said.
"A drive by?" Kane asked.
"It's where they drive and shoot at the same time." Angel said.
"He died in a drive by shooting?!" Taker asked.
"Yeah. Somewhere between home and Bret's place..." Angel whispered, her voice cracking a bit.
"The cops didn't really look into it. They just let it go." Kristy said, rubbing her arms.
"He was the only person that Kristy and I could count on that was from our age group. Then when he died, Krissy and I made a promise that we would stick together because it's what Alex would have wanted." Angel said.
"He was my back up when if I happened to get into a tough spot that I couldn't get out of. Not to mention that he had a mean leg drop." Kristy said.
"Alex was a good kid. He reminded me a lot of Matt. I guess that's why we all took to him." Owen said.
"I'm probably going to regret asking this, but did he try to help you, Little Angel?" Kane asked.
"Well, when I told him what was going on, he said if he ever saw Jason hit me or anything, he'd kill him with his bare hands. Then one day, Jason had to pick me up from school because Amber was staying late at work. When Jason got out of the car to come and get me, I thought Alex would follow through on his threat." Angel said.
"Sometimes I wonder if Jason might have been the one who killed Alex." Kristy said softly.
"We may never know. Unless we look into it." Angel said.
"I think you girls need to leave it alone. If Alex's parents wanted to know, they could have done something." Taker said.
"I know...but they did get into an awful screaming match about me the day that Jason came to grab me from school...and I got one hell of a beating afterwards." Angel said.
"I remember that. I had to pull Alex away to just to keep him from killing Jason. That was the day I found her beaten in the hallway." Kristy said.
"What?" Kane asked.
"He beat me up and left me propped up in a sitting position in the hallway by the stairs. I guess Kristy got worried because she'd tried calling my cell and I didn't answer it. I woke up to her screaming." Angel said.
"But anyway, I'm with Angel. I want to know." Kristy said.
"I don't know girls." Davey said.
"Jason is dead. What harm could it do?" Kristy said.
"She has a point. It's not like he can hurt them." Taker said.
"Alright, just be careful. OK?" Davey said.
"Don't worry. If I can find the person that hurt Mom, this will be easy." Angel said.
"OK. Angel, are you sure you're alright?" David asked.
"I feel somewhat better now." Angel said.
"So Kristy, what did you and Cena talk about?" Adam asked.
"Nothing. I screamed at him and threatened him." Kristy said.
Adam nodded. Angel headed off to the bedroom to change and then she flopped down on the bed. Kristy just stood there, staring at the closed door. She seemed to be lost in thought.
"What's up, Kris?" David asked.
"She was so upset when I went to get her. She didn't want to come back." Kristy said.
"WHAT?!" Taker yelled.
"Can't say I blame her really. Even though I yelled and screamed at him, it hurt like hell." Kristy said.
"Probably because you loved him." David said.
"Did she say why she didn't want to come back?" Taker asked.
"Honestly I didn't ask. But I knew it was because of what he said. I can't really say I blame her. After what he said, I wanted to leave." Kristy said.
"You're not leaving are you?" Owen asked.
"No. That would mean he would win. So not happening." Kristy said.
Owen nodded. The Harts went off to their hotel room. Taker picked up Lea, who had dozed off on the couch and carried her into the bedroom. He laid her in bed and then pulled the covers over her. When he looked over at Angel, she was curled in a ball, sound asleep, hugging her teddy bear. Taker pulled the blanket over her. Angel smiled in her sleep. Taker left the room. It had been one of the longest nights he could remember. He hoped that Angel would never take off like that again. He drifted off, thinking that Cena was going to pay for this in one way or another.
Alright, that's it for now. I will see you all later. Leave a review! Bye Bye!~Taker's Soul Girl
