"I was trying to save Elena from living her life as a human blood bag."
"And now her life is in more danger than it was before."
'What?"
"You love her, Damon. I started with your best friend, what do you think I'm going to do to the love of your life."
"No, no, no, look do whatever you want to me, but leave her out of it."
"Why would I do that? Not only did she dagger Rebekah, but she conspired with Esther to kill me, and members of my family, and lied to Elijah's face about it." Naruto said stepping up to Damon and tapped the stake against his chest "She's just a girl Damon, one you obviously shouldn't be with."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"When is the last time you've killed someone because you wanted too? Hm? Your a vampire, you love being a vampire, but since you've fallen in love with Elena you've turned into nothing but a pet. You've lost that fire you came to town with. Hopefully before I snap her neck like a twig, you will find it." Naruto said turning the handle of the stake to Damon for him to take
Damon with a frown took the stake
"Now, I have a 1000 year old witch to find and kill, so your friends are safe for now, till they get on my nerves or become an annoyance to me."
"What happened to you? You are nothing like the boy I saw." Damon asked
"You mean the orange jumpsuit idiot who shouted about protecting his precious people. I still protect my precious people, I just don't look to be a hero anymore. Besides that boy has been dead for millennium now, and time changes everything." Naruto said
Damon with a frown turned and walked away
"Your planning on killing Elena." Bonnie said walking in
"Good morning to you too, Bonnie." Naruto greeted turning to her
"Don't do that." Bonnie said walking up to Naruto with a frown "You can't kill Elena.'
"Can't?" Naruto asked, before he waved it off "We had a fantastic night, let's not get into,"
"Listen I know that," Bonnie interrupted
"She conspired with Esther to kill me, and the Mikaelson's." Naruto interrupted back with a sigh "You know me Bon, I'm going to have to do something about that."
"She's my friend."
"And hopefully one day we will be husband and wife." Naruto returned "I know the bond you have with her, you have a duty to her as a friend, and I have a duty to my family. She will die, Bonnie."
"Please, just let me think of something, okay, I don't want to lose Elena or you." Bonnie pleaded
"Fine. You have till this Esther nonsense is dealt with." Naruto sighed after a moment of thought
Bonnie nodded and walked off, causing Naruto to sigh, that just ruined his morning
Next Day
Salvatore Boarding House
Elena walked down the stairs into the basement with a bag, when she approached the door to one of the cells she peered in and asked "Alaric?"
Alaric sitting on a cot said "Yep. Still me." Elena unlocked the door and entered the cell, as she walked in Alaric said "You know, you shouldn't be in here. It defeats the point of the whole being locked in a cellar thing."
Elena dropped the bag on the ground and said "Well, you still need the basics. Toothbrush, clothes, some boring books to help you sleep."
Alaric picked up one of the books and looked at it before he turned to Elena "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?" he asked smiling
"What? No, I grabbed…. Damon. Thinks he's hilarious." Elena said
"At least one of us still has a sense of humor." Alaric replied
"Are you sure that you…? I mean you don't have to be kept in here." Elena said
"Ah, no, this is… this is the right place for me to be. At least until you guys can figure out how to stop whatever is happening to me." Alaric said with a frown, causing Elena to frown with a nod
"Listen, Stefan is gonna watch over you for a little while. If the ring is causing you to act like this, then we need to watch over Jeremy it's not safe so, Damon and I are gonna go to Denver to pick him up."
"Why do you say that like you're waiting for me to disapprove?" Alaric asked
"I don't know. Me and Damon. Traveling across the country." Elena replied
"I guess I'm more curious to hear what Stefan has to say about it." Alaric said
"Actually, it was his idea for Damon to go. He thinks that I have some unresolved feelings for Damon." Elena said
"Do you?" Alaric asked
"I guess that's why I'm going on this trip. So I can figure it out." Elena said
Later
Stefan was sitting on his couch looking at the fireplace, thinking when he was suddenly stabbed through the heart from behind with a metal pipe, and his neck was snapped before he fell to the ground incapacitated
Alaric sat in cellar reading Moby Dick, when the door to the cellar opened causing him to look up "Stefan?" he asked standing up before he gasped when Esther appeared in front of him
"Hello Alaric." Esther greeted with a smile "Come along, we have work to do."
Alaric's demeanor changed as he smirked and looked at the woman who he's met repeatedly on the other side, whenever a supernatural creature killed him "It's time."
"Yes, we should hurry. Stefan won't be down for long." Esther said not really worried about her little brother, but she needed the element of surprise a little longer
Alaric nodded and followed Esther out of the boarding house

Caroline and Elena were walking through the gym hall which was being decorated for the 20's decade dance, Caroline was looking at a clipboard as she asked "Yes, Alaric is still missing but you can't put your life on hold."
Elena sighed before she said "I just - I wish there was something I could do." she then picked up a chandelier "Where do you want me to hang this thing?"
"Over there." Rebekah said walking up causing Elena to take a step backwards, but Rebekah ignored her as she looked at her own clipboard before she looked to Jeremy who was hanging stars from the ceiling "What are you doing? You can't just hang them! They're supposed to trickle down."
"I got it." Jeremy said as Rebekah grabbed a large box and placed it on the table
"Caroline, tell your friend she needs to hang these over there. Thanks love." Rebekah said walking off
Elena sighed as Caroline handed her the box "Is this really necessary?" she asked causing Caroline to frown
"You tried to help Esther kill her, and Naruto, your lucky all they're doing is not talking to you." Caroline said
Later
Salvatore Boarding House
Stefan was walking into the living room with a book when his phone rung, looking at the caller id to see that it was Elena, he picked up "Hey…"
Elena who was now in her bedroom asked "Hey...do you, do you have a second?"
"Yeah, everything alright?" Stefan asked
"Yeah, yeah I just um.. I wanted to uh... Caroline and I were talking about going to the dance and um... Okay look, I know where we're at, you and I, and I know it would be stupid to even think that we could go back to the way things were, but I'm going to the dance and I'd like to go with you." Elena said
"Um, I'd love that." Stefan said after shaking from his surprise
"Okay, great. Bye." Elena said before they both hung up smiling
"I'm thinking gardenia corsage. Wrist obviously, you don't want to accidentally stab her in the chest with the pin now that could get messy." Damon said from the doorway as Stefan turned to him
"Damon, I…" Stefan started but Damon nodded to him and walked out of the room
Mystic Falls Hospital
Meredith Fell was walking down the hall, when she heard her name echo causing her to turn around and look to see if someone was following her, but the hall was empty.
When she turned around again Damon was standing right in front of her, causing her to gasp in surprise. "Don't do that, it's not funny!" Meredith said as she tried to walk around Damon but he got in her way
"Oh, come on, it's a little funny." Damon said
"What do you want Damon?" Meredith asked
"I'm here for a friend. Alaric, you remember him, right? About 6'2", tried to hack you into pieces. Has he tried to contact you at all?' Damon asked
"No, I haven't seen him since your brother knocked him unconscious, he should be with you guys."
"Yeah, someone snuck in our house, knocked Stefan unconscious and Alaric is gone."
"Oh my god, we need to tell the Sheriff."
"Not yet we don't. There hasn't been any bodies dropping, so until then Liz doesn't know about this." Damon said with a frown
Cemetery
Esther, and Alaric walked to the cemetery toward the Salvatore tomb "Why are we here?" Alaric asked
"Long ago on this spot my son strangled me to death. The violence of my death marked this ground for all time." Esther said as they entered the tomb. Esther stood in front of a bowl, as Alaric was on the opposite side, facing her while the other man was in a corner "I'll need your ring." she said
"Now, why would I give you the one thing that protects me from death?" Alaric asked
"I will give you all the protection you need, however the stake will burn up in the body of its first victim. If you are to kill all of my children, and Naruto. I will need to bind the protective magic in your ring to the stake, thus rendering the white oak indestructible." Esther informed before Alaric hesitantly gave her his ring
Esther dropped the ring into the bowl before she started chanting a spell, before flames burst up from the bowl as the ring melted. Esther then stirred the molten metal with the white oak stake and then turns it upside down. The metal pours down and covers and fuses with the white oak "The ultimate weapon for the ultimate hunter." she said "But not quite yet finished."
Esther pulled out a vial, and a jar "With my father's blood, the ashes and blood of someone he once loved, I can make a weapon that'll be able to kill him. I will bind them to the stake giving it the power it needs to put not just my children down for good, but him as well."
Alaric smirked hearing this, as Esther got to work

Gilbert House
Elena was adjusting her headband for her costume in a mirror, when the doorbell rung, and she went to open the door to see that it was Stefan who smiled at her "Wow, you look very dapper." she said commenting on his suit
"You look um- very beautiful. Here, I got something for you." Stefan said before he pinned a white rose to Elena's dress
"Thank you." Elena said smiling
"So, given our dangerous dance karma, sure you're up for this?" Stefan asked as they both chuckled
"Getting out of bed is dangerous these days. But we have to live our lives." Elena said
"Hmm. Who gave you that horrible advice?" Stefan asked
"Some guy I used to date said it once or twice." Elena said smiling
"Right." Stefan replied as Elena went to get her jacket when she came back she asked
"Shall we?"
"Please." Stefan said moving out of the way
Later
Naruto and Rebekahhad come to the dance together, and while she had been his official date, he danced with Bonnie, and Caroline as well spending an equal amount of time with the three women, currently he and Bonnie were dancing, while Rebekah and Caroline danced off to the side "So how is Abby doing?" he asked
"She's fine, she's taken being a Heretic pretty well."
"It was the only way to stop Esther from channeling your line. With only one pure Bennett witch amongst the living in Lucy the connection is broken, with Abby turning." Naruto explained before he looked over to Jaime Abby's stepson "I see your step brother is having fun."
"Yeah, he's been through a lot lately." Bonnie smiled looking over to Jaime who was dancing with a girl, before she turned back to Naruto "Look about Ele,"
"Not tonight." Naruto interrupted as he held Bonnie close "My focus, is Rebekah, Caroline, and you, nothing more nothing less."
Bonnie smiled and kissed Naruto softly, before he sighed when Damon walked up "We have a problem." he said seriously
Mystic Falls Old Cemetery
Elena and Esther were walking toward the Salvatore tomb "You'll forgive me for taking you from the dance this evening. That's the burden of being the Doppelganger, I'm afraid. Your blood is a potent binding agent for a witch's spell." Esther said
"Just please don't hurt Alaric." Elena pleaded before she saw Alaric walking out from behind the tomb
"She's not hurting me." Alaric said
"Ric!" Elena called out as she made to walk toward him but she paused as she sensed something different about him, before she turned to Esther "What's going on? What are you doing with him?"
"I'm going to remake him." Esther said
"Remake him?" Elena asked
"Make him strong, fast, like my children. Indestructible. For one final time I'm going to tap into the dark magic I used a thousand years ago. Like my husband Mikael before him I will make Alaric into a true hunter, a vampire to end all the vampires my family is responsible for creating." Esther explained
"You can't create another Original. What if he turns out to be an even bigger monster than your children?" Elena asked
"He won't now that he has embraced his darkest aspect his hatred for them will become more pure and uncompromising. In death that hatred will be magnified." Esther said as she walked over to Alaric
"You don't know that, you don't know anything about him." Elena replied
"That is where you're wrong. Each time he died with that ring during his brief journey into death I was there on The Other Side. I spoke to him, I nurtured him knowing that every death brought him closer to his true self. Vampires took everything from him. Now he's getting his vengeance." Esther said as Alaric smirked
"It's alright Elena, Naruto, and the Mikaelson's will die for their sins, and once they do, Jenna can come home, and you'll have your family back." Alaric nodded
Mystic Falls High
Classroom
Several candles were lit and Bonnie was chanting as Naruto, Rebekah, Damon, Stefan, Klaus, and Jamie were there watching "She does this all the time, right?" Jamie asked before Jeremy entered
"People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier." he said before he continued "Jaime, and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves. We just gotta find out where she is." Jeremy said
Naruto, Rebekah, and Klaus looked amused "You stop Esther? That's funny, go enjoy your dance Jeremy, leave the supernatural problems, to the supernatural beings." Naruto said waving Jeremy off
"It's the only thing we got for now." Stefan said causing Naruto to look at him "It's suicide but, until we find a way to get out of here, we need to do something."
"Fine," Naruto said before he looked to Jaime "You. Are you sure your up for this?"
"Anything I can do to help." Jaime nodded
Mystic Falls Old Cemetery
Esther was lighting candles as she prepared for her spell, while Elena pleaded with Alaric "Ric, this isn't what you want. It's not who you are."
Alaric looked at Elena and said "You don't know who I am, Elena. You only know the weakest parts of me, the man who lost his way befriending vampires instead of killing them."
Elena shook her head and said "You don't mean that."
"They're all monsters. The blood of their victims is on my hands." Alaric said
"When you are ready." Esther said speaking up
"No Ric, please don't. Don't do this. I won't help you, I'm not gonna give you my blood, you're gonna have to kill me!" Elena said
"That won't be necessary." Esther said before she did a gesture toward Elena, and Elena grabbed her head screaming, before blood began leaking from her nose and Esther grabbed Elena's neck and held her head over the bowl letting few drops of her blood fall into it "Drink. And let it be done."
"No Ric please, don't.. No!" Elena pleaded watching from her spot on the ground where she had fallen while Alaric drunk the blood in the bowl and put it down
"Is it finished?" Alaric asked
"Not just yet." Esther said before she swung her hand and Alaric's neck snapped
"No!" Elena yelled as Alaric's body fell to the ground
Mystic Falls High School
Bonnie grabbed a map from the wall and put it on the teacher's desk and turned on the table lamp, when Naruto, Klaus, and Damon entered with Naruto holding a vial "Jeremy made a little Gilbert blood donation for your locator spell." he said
Bonnie took the vial and poured it on the map and started chanting, the blood formed a circular pool that didn't move "Esther is fighting me." Bonnie said before she focused and overpowered Esther and the blood traveled down to the old cemetery
Moments Later
Naruto stood outside by the salt line with Rebekah, and Klaus "What's do you thing is going on out there?" Rebekah asked
"No telling, but your mother took Alaric for a reason." Naruto said,
"But why, some haggard history teacher is no match for us." Klaus said
"I know." Naruto said as Bonnie walked out, before he smirked and looked to them "Let's go surprise her shall we."
Turning to Bonnie, Naruto looked out toward the school "Where are they?"
"In the gym talking, we have a few minutes." Bonnie nodded before Naruto, Klaus, Rebekah, and Bonnie joined hands
Bonnie began to channel the power of the older immortals, and broke the barrier, causing the salt line to break "It's done." she said
Naruto kissed her lips, and the 3 sped off, while she walked back to tell the others it was okay to leave, although it'll probably be over by the time they got there
Elena was beside Alaric with tears streaming down her cheeks "He'll wake soon. When he does he may for a time be his old self. If so you can say your goodbyes before his transition is complete." Esther said
"You said you wanted to undo the evil that you created, but this...This is just as evil!" Elena said standing up
"Alaric will never be what my children became. I have granted him enough power to complete his task. Then when the time is right, he will die." Esther replied
"How, if he's immortal?" Elena asked
"I bound his life to yours, he'll have the time limit of a normal human lifespan." Esther said causing Elena to look at her in shock "Once this is over the vampire species will be wiped out."
"Yeah, but you'll be killing the good along with the bad, you're no better than Klaus!" Elena replied
"Am I not? I desire a world where you and your loved ones will not suffer at the hands of vampires." Esther said before she heard a noise and walked outside, to see Jaime and Jeremy there pointing a shotgun and a crossbow at her
"Don't move!" Jaime ordered aiming the shotgun
"Where's Elena?" Jeremy asked his crossbow at the ready, when Elena came outside, not seeing Alaric had woke up and got a blood bag from the stand, that he quickly tore into
"Jeremy!" Elena shouted worried
"Let her go." Jeremy ordered
"How foolish of you, to risk your lives in defense of those who will kill you. But if that is your choice." Esther said before she raised her arms before Jeremy and Jaime turn their hands and point their weapons at each other struggling
"Jaime! Jaime drop your gun!" Jeremy shouted
"I can't! I'm not controlling it!" Jaime shouted in return, before Elena found the white oak stake and quickly stabbed Esther through the back, just as Naruto, Rebekah, and Klaus arrived to see Esther fall to the ground dead
Elena looked up at them in shock before the stake was ripped from her hands and she was thrown to the side causing her head to hit a tomb
"Elena!" Jeremy yelled worried running over to his sister before he looked to Alaric who was smirking at the trio of vampires watching him
"Your a vampire." Naruto noted
"That's right," Alaric smirked, holding up the stake "And with this, I can kill not just the Mikaelson's but you as well."
"Your very overconfident. I'm not weak to white oak."
"White oak bound to your father's ashes, your blood and the blood of the woman you once happily called daughter." Alaric smirked as Naruto frowned
"Father." Klaus asked
"Take him." Naruto ordered and immediately the three sped forward
"No!" Jeremy yelled, as Naruto ducked under Alaric's stab and hit him with a lariat sending him flying back before Rebekah appeared under the airborne Alaric and punched him up into an airborne Klaus who stomped on his face driving it into the ground
Jeremy jumped when Damon arrived "What happened?"
"Alaric threw her into the tombstone, she needs your blood." Jeremy said clutching the bleeding Elena
Damon bit his wrist and fed Elena his blood, and smiled as she groaned awake "Damon?' she asked before her eyes widened "Alaric!"
'Later, we need to get you out of here." Damon said, as Elena looked over to see Alaric throw Klaus off of him, before he stabbed Rebekah in the gut with the stake, but Naruto tackled him, only for Alaric to turn around at the last second with the stake held high as Naruto held his arm back
Quickly Elena grabbed a sharp rock, and ran over "Elena!" Damon yelled,
"Stop it!" Elena yelled causing Alaric and the elder immortals to look at her "Let him go or I'll kill myself." She threatened holding the shard at her throat
"Put your hand down, Elena." Alaric ordered but she shook her head.
"You still need me alive. There's a reason why Esther used me to make you, she didn't want you to be immortal, so she tied your life to a human one. Mine. That way you have only one life span to kill all vampires and then you'll be gone. So, when I die, you die, too."
Naruto looked between Elena and Alaric, before he glanced to Rebekah who had been inpaled on a tree branch, and Klaus who was looking for an opportunity,
Damon watched as Naruto's face went cold, and his eyes widened when he overpowered Alaric and made him stab himself before he appeared behind Elena,
"No!" Damon yelled as he rushed Naruto who kicked him in the face, before he ducked under a diving Stefan, and gave a kick to send him into a tree, before he turned Elena to face him
"It's like I told you Elena. Family comes first." Naruto said before he snapped her neck causing everyone to look at him wide eyed
"No!" Alaric yelled rushing forward with the stake aimed at Naruto's heart but Naruto caught the spun around the lunging man and kicked him through a tree, everyone watched as Alaric began coughing as he desiccated
Naruto watched before he was tackled into a tree by Damon who began to punch him repeatedly enraged while Naruto took the blows, which got slower and weaker
"I has a choice to make, and I made it." Naruto said to Damon who looked from him to Elena as Naruto walked passed him to Rebekah who just revived
"Oh bloody hell. Is it over?" Rebekah asked as Naruto helped her off the branch
"Yeah, I had to kill Elena, to kill Alaric." Naruto said looking over to everyone who was crowding around Elena's body, as Klaus walked over "Let's go."
Rebekah, and Klaus looked over and followed Naruto
Jeremy cried as he held Elena tightly while Stefan and Damon watched along with Bonnie, and Caroline all sad, before Jeremy's grief gave way to anger, and he grabbed his crossbow and tried to go after Naruto but he was stopped
"Don't even think about it, he'll kill you." Damon said frowning
"He forced Jenna to leave, now he kills Elena, he won't get away with this!" Jeremy growled
"Elena died with my blood in her system." Damon reminded causing everyone to look at him in surprise, just as they looked back to Elena "She'll come back."
"She has too." Damon thought
