Derek
We stood, waiting to get our property back. Someone had dropped the charges on us and we were free to leave.
"Sorry, but I can't let you walk out with us." Deputy Perish told us, holding up one of Argent's electric rods.
"It's way above the legal voltage limit."
"I only use it for hunting." Chris argued. He shot me a glance and I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah well I'm pretty sure that you could use it to jump start seven-forty-seven." Perish insisted.
"This property belongs to me and the charges were dropped." Chris told him. I could tell that he wasn't going to give in. He looked at me. "Though I'm not exactly sure who's responsible for that."
"I am." Sheriff Stilinski said, walking out of his office. "I'll take care of this, Perish."
"Sheriff, I'm not kidding." Perish told him. "This thing is a few watts away from being a light saber." Stilinski took it from the deputy.
"I said I'll take care of it." He motioned for us to follow him into his office. I closed the door behind me. "The specialist that I saw in L.A said what every doctor says when he's trying to avoid a lawsuit. We can't say for sure. And then I spoke with Melissa." He pulled out two papers from a folder. "These are brain scans. My wife's, and Stiles. I knew that they were similar," he trailed off. Chris put them on top of each other. "But those are the same. Exactly the same."
"I'm guessing that this isn't possible?" I asked.
"Not even remotely." he shook his head.
"So the trickster is still playing tricks." Chris sighed, giving the brain scans back.
"Why this trick?" I insisted.
"when I was in the army, an officer told me that if you want to defeat your enemy, you don't take away their courage. You take away their hope." Sheriff Stilinski told us.
"You don't look like a man who gives up hope very easily," Chris commented.
"But Stiles might." he said quietly. "If this thing inside of him, if its using his mother's disease as some sort of psychological trick, then this isn't just a fight for his body. It's also a fight for his mind, right?"
"You know he's left people severely injured," Chris told him.
"And others severely dead." I added.
"That's why I need the two of you." he told us. "I need people who are experienced in kind of thing. I need you to help me stop him."
"And by stop him," Chris said slowly. "You mean trap him." Stilinski nodded, holding out Argent's electric rod.
"We'll help you." I told him.
"This is everything non-lethal that I could find." Allison told us as we walked into her father's study.
"We'll take all of it." he told her. She started packing them into bags.
"What's the plan?" Stilinski asked.
"Our best shot right now is for Derek to try and pick up Stiles's scent at Eichen House. Especially if he went through something stressful there." he told us.
"Should all four of us be going to the same place?" Sheriff Stilinski prompted.
"Where else has Stiles been showing up?" Chris asked.
"The school. The hospital." Allison told him.
"Hold on," I said. "We did this already. He disappeared, we tried to look for him and walked right into a trap at the hospital." Isaac is still in the hospital because of it.
"He's getting us to repeat the same moves." Chris sighed.
"So what do we do?" Allison asked. "Wait for him to come to us?"
"We can't." I told her. "Not if the Oni find him when the sun goes down."
"Scott's working on that right now, with Kira." Stilinski told us.
"That's the problem." Chris sighed. "We're all trying to outfox the fox."
"Listen," Stilinski said. "I'll understand if anyone of you wants to back out now." We looked at one another. No one spoke.
"I'm not going to be the first wolf to run from a fox." I scoffed, reaching for the closest non-lethal weapon. Everyone else continued packing weapons into bags. This is it. We've got to find him.
Andy
"What are you?" River spat.
"River, you need to calm down first." I insisted. "I'll explain everything to you, but not when you're like this."
"You're stalling." River scoffed. "Andy, if you don't tell me what the fuck you are, I'm going to Kai right now. I won't stop there either. Everyone will know." he threatened. I could tell by his heart beat that he was bluffing.
"What exactly will you tell them?" I retorted. "You don't have much to go off of. Will you tell them that my eyes were glowing red? They'll think that it's contacts. No one will believe you, River. Not even Kai. They'll say that you are just a depressed teenager looking for anything to draw attention to someone else." Shit. He probably would have believed that they were contacts. Why didn't I just tell him that?
"You're right. No one would believe me." he sighed. "I wouldn't tell anyone anyways."
"I know." I told him. I took a deep breath. "That's why I'm going to tell you the truth. But not here," I shook my head. "Anyone can walk in here."
"Then where?" River's eyes lit up.
"My house." I answered. "I'll tell you everything there."
"Then let's go." River insisted. "Right now."
"What about Melody and Kai?" I frowned.
"They'll be fine." River scoffed. "Kai will be glued to the games and no doubt he's making Melody try every one. They won't even notice that we're gone."
"Alright," I nodded. I shouldered passed him and left the rest room. He followed me out the door. We walked in silence. I could hear the soft sound of his footsteps. His heart beat increased the further we got from the arcade. He's afraid of me. I felt my heart sink. I don't want him to be afraid of me. He's one of my first actual friends. When we reached the loft, I slid open the door. No one was there.
"Okay," River said. "We're here. Explain."
"It may be hard to understand," I started. "Do you believe in the supernatural?" I asked him.
"You mean like ghosts and stuff?" he asked. His eyes widened. "Are you a ghost? Are you here to haunt me?"
"What? No." I scoffed. "I mean like, werewolves." I said slowly.
"Werewolves?" he repeated.
"Yes." I nodded. "That is what I am. A werewolf."
"Yeah, right." River laughed.
"I'm telling the truth." I insisted. "I'll prove it," I added. This seemed to grab his attention. He looked at me more closely now. I took a deep breath and hunched my neck. I could feel my fangs coming in, and fur growing. I extended my claws. River gasped and stumbled back in surprise. He tripped on his own feet and landed on his back. His eyes were wide with fear, his heart was beating so fast I thought it was about to explode.
"Is this the part where you eat me and I'm never heard from again?" he gulped.
"I'm not going to eat you," I shook my head, shifting back to normal. "You're my friend. I'm not going to hurt you." Shaking, he got to his feet.
"Are you the only one?" he asked quietly. "The only werewolf?"
"No." I shook my head. "There are others."
"Who else?" he asked. Might as well just tell him.
"Melody." I told him. "Derek Hale. Scott McCall. Isaac Lahey. My brothers, Ethan and Aiden. Maddy."
"Maddy is a freaking werewolf?" he asked in disbelief.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"That makes her even hotter." he grinned. I couldn't help but laugh.
"So are you all like, a wolf pack?" he asked after a moment of silence.
"Sort of." I sighed. "It's a lot to explain." River walked over and sat down on the couch, making himself comfortable. He seemed to realize that I wasn't going to hurt him and calmed down.
"Well, you promised to explain everything. I've got plenty of time. Spill it." I took a seat on the other coach and sighed.
"There are three ranks. Alpha, beta and omega. An alpha is the leader of the pack. Omegas are like the lone wolves, or the weakest wolves in the pack. Everyone else, are betas."
"Do everyone's eyes glow? Like yours?" he asked curiously.
"Yes." I nodded. "but they aren't all the same colors. Mine and Scott's are red. Derek, Melody, Aiden, Ethan and Maddy's eyes are all blue and Isaac's are yellow."
"What are they?" he continued. "Like, the ranks."
"Maddy and Aiden are omegas. They don't have a pack. Ethan, Derek, Isaac and Melody are all betas."
"What about Scott and you?" River narrowed his eyes.
"We're alphas." I answered.
"You're the leader of the pack?" he frowned.
"Yes." I nodded. "Well, I don't exactly have a pack. I was part of Scott's pack until I became an alpha."
"How do you become an alpha?"
"By killing another alpha." I replied. He was quiet for a few moments.
"You killed someone."
"Yes. I killed my father." I told him.
"You killed Derek?"
"No," I shook my head. "Derek isn't my real father. My real father was evil. He tried to kill me, so I killed him. And now I'm an alpha." I sighed.
"By the sounds of it, you don't want to be." River noted.
"No," I admitted. "I don't. I don't even want to be a werewolf." I ran my fingers through my hair.
"How do you become a werewolf?" River asked.
"Some people, like Aiden, Ethan, Maddy, Derek, Melody and me, are born werewolves. Others like Isaac and Scott were turned by alphas." I explained.
"How does an alpha turn you into a werewolf?"
"A bite." I answered. He went silent for a while before speaking up.
"Would you do it?" River asked.
"Do what?" I frowned.
"Turn me." he answered.
"River," I started but he cut me off before I could say anything else.
"Andy, I want to be like you." River insisted. "I want to be a werewolf."
So here is another update! What do you guys think? Should Andy accept River's offer, or turn him down?
